Shifting Rahul to No. 5 and asking VVS to bat at No. 3 might seem OK since VVS is scoring runs and it would be easier for Rahul to bat at No. 5. But it might turn the other way round as well.

If on a good ball, VVS gets out… there is already pressure on Rahul, and if he comes in with three wickets down early, there will be pressure. It’s really tough to battle that.

The dream ultimately turned into a reality as the ‘God of football’ Diego Armando Maradona graced the Indian subcontinent for the first time ever. Terming the recent terror attacks in Mumbai as "barbaric", Maradona said: "Common people cannot protest since they are innocent and defenceless. A group of persons take the lives of others simply to create panic, which they shouldn’t do. But they are constantly doing it."

When Maradona is around, football will always be the talking point. The first query was on India’s chances of participation in the World Cup.

"Definitely, it’s going to be tough as it requires a tremendous amount of labour. I believe footballers should be given proper attention despite the prevailing economic conditions. A footballer needs a lot of affection in life owing to the enormous pressure and competition in this world. My wholehearted wishes to India, however."

Georgia woman claims to be Putin’s mom

A Georgian woman has claimed that she is Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s real mother. Vera Putina, 82, has claimed that Vladmir is the child she gave away at the age of ten, giving an account of an unhappy childhood, which is fiercely disputed by the Kremlin.

The Telegraph reports that Ms Putina lives hand-to-mouth in rural Georgia. Her house sits on a dirt track in the village of Metekhi, about 12 miles from Gori that was occupied by Russian tanks this August during the conflict over the breakaway state of South Ossetia.

A tiny woman, with gnarled worker’s hands, only Ms Putina’s strong cheekbones and deep-set, piercing blue eyes are suggestive of who she claims she is. “I used to be proud of having a son who became President of Russia. Since the war I’m ashamed.” Since Russian-born Ms Putina saw Vladimir Putin on TV in 1999, she has been convinced he is her estranged son.

Backed up by other residents in Metekhi, Ms Putina claims he lived in the village between the ages of two-and-a-half and ten before being sent back to his grandparents in Ochyor, Russia. Records in the archives of Metekhi’s closest town, Caspi, indicate that a Vladmir Putin was registered at Metekhi school, 1959-1960, stated nationality: Georgian.
Ms Putina’s account is at odds with Kremlin’s version of events.

NRI jailed for beating wife, son

An Indian-origin man, who dragged his wife across the floor by her hair and beat his 13-year-old son with a cricket bat, has been jailed for 18 months. Kiran Soni (54) was charged with punching his wife in the stomach and kicking her in the chest, at the Nottingham Crown Court here.

Soni admitted the offences, but in a letter to Judge Dudley Bennett said: "It’s because in India I’ve been brought up that way." An injunction was taken out against Soni in June, banning him from contacting his wife. The court was told that he had a severe alcohol problem. But he had ignored it, and continued assaulting her and their son. Soni, who was moved to Birmingham since the assaults, pleaded guilty of charges including harassment, assault causing actual bodily harm.

US car firms may get $15bn aid

Facing massive job losses, the White House and congressional Democrats are working to provide about $15 billion in loans to prevent Detroit’s weakened auto industry from collapsing.

After yielding to President George W. Bush on a key point, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the House of Representatives would consider legislation next week to provide "short-term and limited assistance" to the US auto industry while it undergoes "major restructuring."

"Congress will insist that any legislation include rigorous and ongoing oversight to guarantee that taxpayers are protected and that resources are directed to ensure the long-term viability and competitiveness" of the industry, Ms Pelosi said in a statement. The Senate is also scheduled to be in session next week.

The legislation, which was being crafted this weekend, would act as a lifeline to General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. And Chrysler LLC while meeting demands from many sceptical legislators that Congress refrain from writing a blank check for the beleaguered industry. Several officials in both parties said a key breakthrough on the long-stalled bailout came when Ms Pelosi bowed to Mr Bush’s demand that the aid come from a fund set aside for the production of environmentally friendlier cars. The California Democrat spoke to White House chief of staff Josh Bolten during the day to signal her change in position, they added.

Ms Pelosi said the billions of dollars that had been set aside to modernise plants to develop the green cars would be repaid "within a matter of weeks." Democrats said her hope was to include the funds in an economic recovery bill that legislators are expected to prepare for President-elect Barack Obama’s signature shortly after he takes office.

Sir Jagadis Chandra Bose, one of India’s most famous scientists, will be honoured by his alma mater, the Cambridge university, this week. Bose, a famous physicist and botanist, was the first to demonstrate wireless transmission of electromagnetic waves in 1895. Considered the father of radio science, he was a student at Christ’s College where he studied natural sciences. He was knighted in 1917.

The University of Cambridge has organised a symposium on December 6 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Bose’s birth. Born on November 30, 1858, Bose was a true polymath: a physicist, biologist, botanist, archaeologist and a writer of science fiction. Bose later shifted his foc- us to plant physiology and he demonstrated how plants responded to various stimuli as if they had nervous systems like those of animals, claiming they could feel pa- in and understand affection.

He was founding fellow of what is now the Indian National Science Academy and was made a fellow of the Royal Society in 1920. Bose, who died at the age of 78 years on November 23, 1937, was also a member of the League of Nations’ committee. He was the first writer of science fiction in Bengali as he wrote Niruddesher Kahini in 1898. The Cambridge university will in 2009 mark 800 years of its inception as the earliest record of the varsity can be traced to 1209 when groups of scholars congregated at the ancient Roman trading post of Cambridge for the purpose of study.

The symposium in Bose’s honour, Beyond Bound- aries: From Physics to Plant Sciences, will have talks by eight distinguished scientists including Dr M.S. Swaminathan, the father of Indian Green Revolution.

As we all know latest installment of CoD was released a week ago. The game is based on WW II and the graphics is awesome too. I am not going to review the whole game but some new features which are included in this game. Co-Op mode is the new feature introduced in this game wherein they are absent in previous installments. Co-Op can be played on single player mission with maximum of 4 players connected. In single player Co-Op mode all the people who are connected to the game has to be alive to keep the mission alive. When any one of the player got hit and injured by enemies other players can revive the injured players by pressing and holding 'F' key. When any of the player is dead the mission will be failed. You can also play Co-Op mode against Nazi Zombies. In this you will be locked in a house with windows covered by wood. Zombies will try to get into the house by breaking windows and kill you. This has no end until your death. You can see how good are you holding against Zombies. Level will keep changing while you kill them. My best is 13 round :D

Making Super Hidden Folders

You probably already know how to create just a plain hidden folder. It is super easy, you just right click on the folder and select Hidden then click Apply. The problem is that anyone with access to the computer can easily turn on the Show Hidden Files and Folders and then can easily see the folder you created. Well here is a trick that will get around this problem and create a invisible folder that has no text and no icon.

Please note: Once you create a Super Hidden folder that it will be up to you to remember where you put it. I suggest writing down the location in case you should ever forget about where this folder is.

Click on the Customize Tab (Note this procedure also works on any icon, some icons do not let you Customize. So, if you do not see a Customize tab, then you will have to create a new folder and move the icon that you are trying to make hidden into the newly created folder. Then you will make the folder Super Hidden)

Click On the Change Icon button

The Change Icon box will pop up with the default Windows Icons (If it does not, then click on the Browse button and navigate to your WINDOWS\system32 folder and then find and choose SHELL32.dll then click OPEN

Then Scroll to the right and look for a blank icon. Select the blank icon then click Ok.

Then Click Apply. And you should now have a blank icon with only the text below it, like this:

Now to get rid of the text, follow this procedure:

For this trick to work, we need to make sure that File and Folder Settings has the Show File Extensions for known File Types Enabled. This is the default setting in XP, so if you have not made any changes it should be set properly. If you are not sure, then check. Here is how …

Click Start, then My Computer. Click on Tools then Folder Options.

On the View tab check mark Hide Extensions For Known File Types then Click Apply

Ok, now that we have that set...Here is the trick to removing the icon title and having a Blank Text untitled icon

First, right click on the icon that you want to remove it’s title, then go to Rename

Now, what you need to do, is hold the ALT button down. With the ALT button held down, and using the keypad type 255 then release the ALT button and hit enter, and voila you now have an untitled icon.

This trick will work only for icon, if you are creating multiple Blank Text icons then you will need to name them like this:
For 1 Blank Text Icon: ALT + 255 (release ALT)
For 2 Blank Text Icons: ALT + 255 (release ALT) ALT + 255 (release ALT)
For 3 Blank Text Icons: ALT + 255 (release ALT) ALT + 255 (release ALT) ALT + 255 (release ALT)
And so on…

The reason we need to do this is because part of Windows XP rules state that you cannot have a file/folder/shortcut with the same name in the same folder. To get around this restriction, we simply name the first icon with 1 blank space, the second icon with 2 blank spaces, the third with 3 blank spaces and so on.

The result is a SUPER hidden Folder :)

Call of Duty series are the best ever war game. Almost all the previous installments of call of duty had been a great success. Call of Duty 4 created history in sales record and had been considered first step for next generation game as well. Since CoD 4 was a huge success ever most of them believed that its impossible to keep up the expectation with their next installment Call of Duty : World at War since it is based on WW II wherein previous installment was based on modern warfare. But Activision made their belief go wrong with their yet another stunning game.

Call of Duty: World at War is a lot like its predecessor, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare maybe its because they used the same engine but different developer. World at War was Developed by Treyarch (Developer of CoD 3) while Modern Warfare was by Infinity Wards. The guns are tightly tuned, the tone is gritty and mature, and the action is exciting and fast-paced. It failed to boast the same addictive multiplayer system as Modern Warfare. But they expanded the multiplayer possibilities by allowing four players to play through the campaign cooperatively. World at War does an admirable job of spicing things up, but between the well-worn source material and déjà vu game mechanics, there is a pervasive familiarity to the game. Still, though World at War lacks the freshness that made Modern Warfare such a hit, it nevertheless provides a hearty, filling meal--one that shooter fans are sure to savor.

1. Gravity is not the same over the surface of the Earth

It turns out that in some places you will feel slightly heavier than others. A low spot can be seen just off the coast of India, while a relative high occurs in the South Pacific Ocean. The cause of these irregularities is unknown since present surface features do not appear dominant. NASA's GRACE twin satellites, launched in March 2002, are making detailed measurements of Earth's gravity field which will lead to discoveries about gravity and Earth's natural systems which you can see in the picture.

2. Atmosphere 'Escapes'

Due to thermal energy, some of the molecules at the outer edge of the Earth's atmosphere have their velocity increased to the point where they can escape from the planet's gravity. This results in a slow but steady leakage of the atmosphere into space. Because unfixed hydrogen has a low molecular weight, it can achieve escape velocity more readily and it leaks into outer space at a greater rate. For this reason, the Earth's current environment is oxidizing, rather than reducing, with consequences for the chemical nature of life which developed on the planet. The oxygen-rich atmosphere also preserves much of the surviving hydrogen by locking it up in water molecules.

3. The Earth is slowing down

As a result of variation in gravitational forces due to the moon, the sun and other planets in the solar system, displacements of matter in different in different parts of the planets and other excitation mechanisms, the rotational speed of the Earth about it's axis varies in time. Recently, days have been getting shorter by hundredths of a second, which implies that the angular velocity of the Earth has been increasing. The factors causing this increasing in the Earth's rotational velocity have not been determined. The rotation data shows oscillations over several different timescales. The one with the largest variation is seasonal: Earth slows down in January and February.

4. Van Allen radiation belt

The Van Allen Radiation Belt is a torus of energetic charged particles (plasma) around Earth, held in place by Earth's magnetic field. Apollo astronauts who traveled to the moon spent very little time in the belts but probably have a slightly higher risk of cancer during their. NASA said that they deliberately timed Apollo launches, and used lunar transfer orbits that only skirted the edge of the belt over the equator to minimize the radiation. Besides, there have been nuclear tests in space that have caused artificial radiation belts. Starfish Prime, a high altitude nuclear test created an artificial radiation belt that damaged or destroyed as many as one third of the satellites in low earth orbit at the time.

5. Moon is moving away from Earth

The reasons why have to do with tides and conservation of energy and angular momentum. Measurements have been collected now for over 25 years, and it is clear that the Moon's orbit is slowly growing larger and that the Moon is moving away from the Earth. The net result is that the Moon is receding from the Earth at about 4 centimeters a year. However, astronomers have predicted that when the Sun enters the red giant phase in around 5 billion years - during the red giant phase of the Sun - both Earth and Moon will be affected by the Sun's extended atmosphere and will aproach again. Then the Moon will swing ever closer to Earth until it reaches a point 11,470 miles (18,470 kilometers) above our planet, a point termed the Roche limit. The result: Moon will be torn to pieces and will be scattered to form a spectacular 23,000-mile-diameter (37,000-kilometer) Saturn-like ring of debris above Earth's equator.

6. Moon has a tidal effect on the atmosphere

The Moon have a tidal effect on the atmosphere as well as the oceans. Theory predicts stronger lunar pressure oscillations in the tropics but their amplitude rarely exceeds 100 microbars or 0.01 percent of the average surface pressure. Detection of such a tiny signal masked by much larger pressure variations associated with weather phenomena required the development of special statistical techniques and the accumulation of a long series of regular observations. It is common for atmospheric waves to grow in amplitude with height as the air becomes thinner. The lunar tide, however, remains weak compared to the solar tide in the upper atmosphere.

7. The Chandler wobble

The Chandler wobble is a small variation in Earth's axis of rotation, discovered by American astronomer Seth Carlo Chandler in 1891. It amounts to 0.7 arcseconds over a period of 433 days. In other words, Earth's poles move in an irregular circle of 3 to 15 metres in diameter, in an oscillation. The cause is unknown. On 18 July 2000, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory announced that "the principal cause of the Chandler wobble is fluctuating pressure on the bottom of the ocean, caused by temperature and salinity changes and wind-driven changes in the circulation of the oceans. However, on janauary-february 2006 scientist noticed the Chandler wobble had stopped and there was a near six week period in which a significant pause occurred. This anomaly has been of great interest in gaining a better understanding, but it is not yet known if this has or will cause any catastrophic changes in the overall rotation axis of the planet.

8. Earth electric charge

Since 1917 scientists have known that the earth's surface is charged with negative electricity, but no one knew for sure what keeps it charged. In areas of fair weather, an electric current flows between the earth and the air in a direction which would tend to dissipate the charge. It is not much of a current: only about 1,500 amperes, not much more for the entire earth than flows in a few power lines. But the electricity taken from the earth must be restored somehow or the earth's electric charge would soon drain away. An obvious guess is that thunderstorms somehow restore the lost charge, but no one had proved it. Three years ago the institution borrowed airplanes from the Air Force and began to measure electrical stirring in the still air above active thunderheads. Sure enough, the instruments showed a current moving in the opposite direction to the current in fair-weather areas. The scientists figured that all the thunderstorms going on at one time generate a net current of about 1,500 amperes, just enough to balance the drain and keep the earth's charge constant.

9. Tons of interplanetary dust reaches Earth every year

According to space.com, about 30,000 tons of interplanetary dust reaches Earth's surface every year. Most asteroids roam around the Sun in a belt between Mars and Jupiter. The fragments of their collisions, and the dust, can be drawn toward the inner solar system and sometimes approach Earth. Dust and rocks moving fast in relation to Earth frequently slam into the atmosphere and burn up, generating shooting stars. Stuff moving more slowly relative to Earth can be captured by the planet's gravity and survive the plunge.

10. Earth's magnetic poles change places

The poles on the Earth have changed places - many times! We can tell this has happened because the magnetic moment of the rocks that make up the ocean floor have an alternating direction. Which direction they exhibit depends on which way the poles were oriented when the rocks were being formed at the mid-ocean ridge. During a reversal, which can take thousands of years, the magnetic poles start to wander away from the region around the spin poles, and eventually end up switched around. Sometimes this wandering is slow and steady, and other times it occurs in several jumps.

Who is clever? Teacher or Student?

One night 4 college students were playing till late night and didn't study for the test which was scheduled for the next day.

In the morning they thought of a plan.

They made themselves look as dirty and weird with grease and dirt. Then they went up to the Dean and said that they had gone out to a wedding last night and on their return the tyre of their car burst and they had to push the car! all the way back and that they were in no condition to appear for the test.

So the Dean said they can have the re-test after 3 days. They thanked him and said they will be ready by that time.

On the third day they appeared before the Dean. The Dean said that as this was a Special Condition Test,

All four were required to sit in seperate classrooms for the test. They all agreed as they had prepared well in the last 3 days.

The Test consisted of only 2 questions with the total of 100 Marks.

Zidane is returning back to Football !! Can you believe it? yes its true, he is back, not as Zinedine Zidane but as Enzo Zidane. Enzo Zidane, named after his fathers idol, the graceful Uruguayan international Enzo Francescoli, is 12 years old and has started his footballing career on the right foot.

Young Enzo won his first trophy for one of Real Madrids youth teams last weekend when they beat arch-rivals Barcelona to win the Mediterranean International Cup in the Catalan coastal resort of Palamos. Match reports said that Enzo, who plays in the same position and same jersey number(10) as his dad , even dared to showcase one of his fathers trademark pirouettes as he slipped past an opponent in midfield. There is no doubt that he will make his father proud.

Cloning is the process of obtaining a group of genetically identical cells from a single cell that is making identical genes.. There are two types of cloning One involves harvesting stem cells from embryos ("therapeutic cloning"). These are the biological equivalent of a template. They can develop into any kind of mature functional cell and thus help cure many degenerative and auto-immune diseases. The other kind of cloning is much derided in popular culture - and elsewhere - as the harbinger of a Brave, New World. A nucleus from any cell of a donor is embedded in an egg whose own nucleus has been removed. The egg is then implanted in a woman's womb and a cloned baby is born nine months later. Biologically, the cloned infant is a replica of the donor. Cloning is often confused with other advances in biomedicine and bio-engineering - such as genetic selection. It cannot - in itself - be used to produce "perfect humans" or select sex or other traits. Hence, some of the arguments against cloning are either specious or fuelled by ignorance. It is true, though, that cloning, used in conjunction with other bio-technologies, raises serious bio-ethical questions. Scare scenarios of humans cultivated in sinister labs as sources of spare body parts, "designer babies", "master races", or "genetic sex slaves" - formerly the preserve of B sci-fi movies - have invaded mainstream discourse. Still, cloning touches upon Mankind's most basic fears and hopes. It invokes the most intractable ethical and moral dilemmas. As an inevitable result, the debate is often more passionate than informed.

Right to Life Arguments

According to cloning's detractors, the nucleus removed from the egg could otherwise have developed into a human being. Thus, removing the nucleus amounts to murder.It is a fundamental principle of most moral theories that all human beings have a right to life. The existence of a right implies obligations or duties of third parties towards the right-holder. One has a right AGAINST other people. The fact that one possesses a certain right - prescribes to others certain obligatory behaviours and proscribes certain acts or omissions. This Janus-like nature of rights and duties as two sides of the same ethical coin - creates great confusion. People often and easily confuse rights and their attendant duties or obligations with the morally decent, or even with the morally permissible. What one MUST do as a result of another's right - should never be confused with one SHOULD or OUGHT to do morally (in the absence of a right).

Unbalancing Nature

It is very anthropocentric to argue that the proliferation of genetically enhanced or genetically selected children will somehow unbalance nature and destabilize the precarious equilibrium it maintains. After all, humans have been modifying, enhancing, and eliminating hundreds of thousands of species for well over 10,000 years now. Genetic modification and bio-engineering are as natural as agriculture. Human beings are a part of nature and its manifestation. By definition, everything they do is natural. Why would the genetic alteration or enhancement of one more species - homo sapiens - be of any consequence? In what way are humans "more important" to nature, or "more crucial" to its proper functioning? In our short history on this planet, we have genetically modified and enhanced wheat and rice, dogs and cows, tulips and orchids, oranges and potatoes. Why would interfering with the genetic legacy of the human species be any different?

Effects on Society

Cloning - like the Internet, the television, the car, electricity, the telegraph, and the wheel before it - is bound to have great social consequences. It may foster "embryo industries". It may lead to the exploitation of women - either willingly ("egg prostitution") or unwillingly ("womb slavery"). Charles Krauthammer, a columnist and psychiatrist, quoted in "The Economist", says: "(Cloning) means the routinisation, the commercialisation, the commodification of the human embryo". Exploiting anyone unwillingly is a crime, whether it involves cloning or white slavery. But why would egg donations and surrogate motherhood be considered problems? If we accept that life begins at the moment of fertilization and that a woman owns her body and everything within it - why should she not be allowed to sell her eggs or to host another's baby and how would these voluntary acts be morally repugnant? In any case, human eggs are already being bought and sold and the supply far exceeds the demand. Moreover, full-fledged humans are routinely "routinised, commercialized, and commodified" by governments, corporations, religions, and other social institutions. Consider war, for instance - or commercial advertising. How is the "routinisation, commercialization, and commodification" of embryos more eprehensible that the "routinisation, commercialization, and commodification" of fully formed human beings? Curing and Saving Life Cell therapy based on stem cells often leads to tissue rejection and necessitates costly and potentially dangerous immunosuppressive therapy. But when the stem cells are harvested from the patient himself and cloned, these problems are averted. Therapeutic cloning has vast untapped - though at this stage still remote - potential to improve the lives of hundreds of millions. As far as "designer babies" go, pre-natal cloning and genetic engineering can be used to prevent disease or cure it, to suppress unwanted traits, and to enhance desired ones. It is the moral right of a parent to make sure that his progeny suffers less, enjoys life more, and attains the maximal level of welfare throughout his or her life. That such technologies can be abused by over-zealous, or mentally unhealthy parents in collaboration with avaricious or unscrupulous doctors - should not prevent the vast majority of stable, caring, and sane parents from gaining access to them.

A HR Manager was tragically hit by a bus and killed. Her soul arrived at the Pearly Gates, and a man welcomed her..

He said,"We have a little problem.. you see, we've never had a HR Manager make it this far before and we're not really sure what to do with you."
"Oh, I see," said the woman. "Can't you just let me in?", she asked.
"Well, I'd like to, but I have higher orders. We're instructed to let you have a day in hell and a day in heaven, and then you are to choose where you'd like to go for all eternity." said the man.
"Actually, I think I'd prefer heaven", said the woman.
"Sorry, we have rules..." at which the man put the HR Manager into the downward bound elevator.

As the doors opened in hell she stepped out onto a beautiful golf course. In the distance was a country club; around her were many friends - past fellow executives, all smartly dressed, happy, and cheering for her. They talked about old times. They played a perfect round of golf and afterwards went to the Country club where she enjoyed a superb steak and lobster dinner. She met the Devil, who was actually rather nice, and she had a wonderful night.
The man came back and said "it is time to leave."
Everyone shook her hand and waved goodbye as she stepped in to the elevator.

The elevator went back up to heaven.

"Now it's time to spend a day in heaven," he said.
So she spent the next 24 hours lounging around on clouds and playing the harp and singing, which was almost as enjoyable as her day in hell.At the day's end he returned.
"So, you've spent a day in hell and you've spent a day in heaven. You must choose between the two." he said.

The woman thought for a second and replied, "Well, heaven is certainly lovely, but I actually had a better time in hell. I choose hell."
Accordingly, he took her to the elevator again and she went back down to hell. When the doors of the elevator opened she found herself standing in adesolate wasteland covered in garbage and filth. She saw her friends dressed in rags, picking up rubbish and putting it in old sacks. The Devil approached and put his arm around her.

"I don't understand," stuttered the HR Manager, "Yesterday I was here, and there was a golf course, and a country club, and we ate lobster, and we danced and had a wonderful happy time. Now there's just a dirty wasteland of garbage and all my friends look miserable."

The Devil looked at her, smiled and said,"Yesterday we were recruiting you, today you're staff."
