I love culinary school so far, even though i got stitches, its going good so far. I'm about to start studying Asian cuisine heavily.

Other then that time to move on with this B.S. job and B.S. place im living in. The job is terrible because i have to rely on customers to buy the high dollar wines, the high dollar foods, and order alot of food. I have to rely on the customers to tips a certain percent and rely on the server that he or she wont mess up the order. Then I have to clean up after grown ass men and women who think they are on top of the world.

Pretty much a bus boy in this day in age is like the plankton in the sea, you know its there but you cant really see them nor pay attention to them. Then again half the time when these stuck up people ask me a question and see how i respond they realize im educated.

Hollywood (south) Florida

Well i've been here for around a week and a half and im loving the scene around here. There is a downtown in walking distance filled with bars and restaurants. I've picked my favorite which has a spanish element!!

School is great,by the way. I payed $1400 alot of money right?? But i got three uniforms, full knife set, $90 credit and all the books i will need for the entire time i am there. Most classes are hands on i only have one this semester 10 hr a week. I can get use to 1 class a day!

Now i might have a bite for a job and i'm going to make this job work!!!

An interesting recipe for a sauce came from menshealth magazine.
1 TBSP mustard any kind
1 TBSP soy sauce
1 TBSP honey
1 TBSP brown sugar
1 TBSP cayenne pepper
1/2 TBSP sesame seed oil

This glaze works well with any fish. First cook the fish on one side, in a pan that can go into the oven at 450 degrees. In about two minutes flip the fish, apply some sauce and place back into the oven. Do this again for the next two minutes. Pull the fish out and place fish on plate and pour sauce onto fish, rice, or anything else on the plate that you want to have that flavor.

Relocating to Florida

I am excited one week out from moving to Florida and live my dreams as a cook down there. Most people would consider New York, or California or Las Vegas. I like the south Florida atmosphere better and thats why i chose to move to south Florida and live down there for good hopefully. I got another whip because parents did not think the truck i had would last, now i gotta sell it before i leave, which wont happen.

Once again i need to find a job down there for the evening times and i want to be a bouncer on the weekends which is good money, as i have heard. Good thing for my grappling background or i would have never thought to be a bouncer on just strength alone..

Comes to the point that we live in a time and era that we get things simply because we want something. For example, my dad has an ipod, iphone, ipad, imac and soon that itv thing for the tv. But I think when it comes to technology it can be understood. For more realistic examples is that most of us eat when we want to not when we have too. Drive past someone and say, "I'm in the mood for this or that" instead of, "I'm starving what can i eat." Walk past a store in the mall and think i need to have those shoes or jacket, wear it for a month or two and dont wear it again. Hell i havent bought an item of clothing in a while, does that make me cheap or dirty? Perhaps I have better use for my money like gas, food, and alcohol for some strange reason.

While we eat when we see something good, which is ok because that is psychological, others around the world have to decide to either eat or drink water. This past weekend when i was volunteering, at a table there was a collection of bottles half way emptied of water and the person did not take it. There was around 7 bottles i threw away and made me sick that people in Haiti were killing each other over that and we can just walk away from it.

We have came to an age in which we use every resource known to man and realize, oh sh!t we might run out of this or that lets find other ways to create, consume, save energy. Which is a good approach but selection when we use everything like there's no tomorrow. This may sound corny but Agent Smith in the matrix made a revelation that a human being isnt a mammal. I can say this is true because, unlike humans, mammals adapt to their environment and ecosystem and live with everything around it. Us humans on the other hand consume consume consume and then move on somewhere else multiple and do the same thing.

Attention Span While Driving

What happen to going from point A to point B safely and fully aware? Not anymore. We care more about food, music(for me), phone calls, texts, etc. Driving is described as a controlled operation of a land vehicle. Is getting something in the drive through really going to be cold by the time you get home? MICROWAVE. OVEN. Or even better. COOK THE FOOD YOUR DAMN SELF. Eating and driving disgusts me more than people evading my personal space ( 60/40). I was guilty of this act when i was younger when i didnt know what a moving vehicle can do to another moving vehicle. I dont care how hungry you are and if you are pull over, eat, gain weight, then be on your way.

Phones and driving i was guilty, a little am, in the past of using the phone and driving at the same time. But then again when you drive a manual you get use to multitasking so it doesnt seem like a crime to us. No text is too important not to answer its like an email. It gets sent there is no urgent option so you do not have to read it asap! Phone calls while driving, researchers now say even when you have a blue tooth device you will still be distracted the same as if you didnt have one in. What I do is when someone calls either call them back when im not driving anymore, answer and say i'll call you back, or just take a voicemail.

People need to realize they are in control of a 2-3 ton machine and any little jerk here or there can mane or even kill people including yourself. Of course people do not realize this on the main interstates going 70mph plus on the phone or eating or texting. You are liable for the actions that happen between you and the car. When something happens you rear end someone or fender bender my take is no excuse.

Oversized Suv's for what????

It has came to my attention America that we drive oversized vehicles for no apparent reason. I say this because every time i drive down the road i see one, two or even three people in an oversized suv like the one pictured above. Whats the point of having a huge suv if you do not use it everyday for its purpose? I have a small suv, Isuzu rodeo, horrible on gas, big enough for some tasks and small enough for others. If you have a family of 4 then by all means have a big suv like this one. By when you get an suv like this dont bitch and wine about gas prices, because you spend alot regardless of the prices.

Knowledge for thought----->>>> stop buying big vehicles to 'be safe' when you still cant drive it anyways.

My current job as a co-op

My current job is being an intern for a company called CMI whom contracts me out to Capital One. The atmosphere is so so, relaxed for the most part and stressful when things need to get done before 5p.m. when they tell you at 4:30p.m. Although, I wouldn't have thought to go to culinary school if I didn't get an IT job like this. This job made me realize that the IT world isn't for me, i need chaos and yelling in my ear 24/7 in order for me to strive and climb ladders. Every time someone at Capital One gives me work to do I knock it out as fast as possible, leaving me bored for the remaining time of the day. Mornings are kind of busy but not really because I know the tasks I have to do. I currently help out three departments at Capital One. Why? Well when I first got there I as automatically assigned to two groups, one dealt with testing, and the other managing source code is what they call it. A couple of months down the road I hopped on another department and they offer me more work then the other two combined but I like being busy the whole day. There is nothing like coming home tired as hell and beat up, after training of course, because that is when you know you accomplished something. Like i ran off topic earlier, in the morning I'm kind of busy but after lunch, kill me. Every single job I had forbid me to sit down and now I have a job that I have to sit down and it kills me. When I don't have work to do i get up and walk around. The other computer people stay on their computers for hours at a time til its lunch or time to leave or use the bathroom, which is once a week for some people. Look on the bright side I got free pens for work.

Relocating to Florida

I have finally found a place in Hollywood Florida which is in between Fort Lauderdale and Miami which is perfect for me. School in Fort Lauderdale 15 minute trip and be casual in Miami which is also a 15 min trip. I decided to live close to Fort Lauderdale because i was told that traffic is a nightmare depending on the times so i did not want to take a risk and go the shortest distance.

THE PLACE:
The place i got is a three story townhouse, 3/3 top floor is the master bed and bath (not me), the second has two rooms the kitchen, living room, laundry room, and a bathroom. The first floor just has a full bath. For $600 a month thats not a bad deal and utilities are taken out of the $600. This place is in walking distance to downtown, 15mins, hell i'll take that im 23, by then 24, work out all the time i can use the extra exercise.

Little big planet is doing it real big with its second release----Little Big Planet. Apparently over the year(s) users have created over 2 million levels because that is the backbone of this game. The purpose of this game is to do the story mode, learn how to mod and use tools, create your own levels and play other users levels. I own the game personally and this game deserves all the awards its received. No its not a RPG, or sports, first person shooter games. More of a puzzle, adventure game in which themes can range from love and hearts to zombies and monsters the different combinations are unlimited!!!

CULINARY SCHOOL!!!!

Just did the online orientation which basically was a quiz asking me questions on navigation and what not. I mean if I can write blogs, have a B.S. in computer science, it can't be that hard right? WRONG!!! It was the hardest thing I couldn't have done. There were 12 questions with no time limit and you can retake the test as many times as you want to as long as you get all 12 questions right before classes start next week!!!!

Sigh *smh it was rough. Good thing is my loans went through fine, at the last moment like the really last moment, all i have to do now is find a place to live and a job. My dad wanted me to live on campus but since this school works on the quarter system, and going to a semester based school, which meant i would have to pack up all of my stuff multiple times a year and drive back to Va from Fort Lauderdale, FL. Lets see that would average around $400 each trip four quarters so $1600 a year to just travel from home to school if i lived on campus. The campus is weird too because it is 3 miles from where you are actually doing you're studies. Plus it would have cost $655 or something like that a month for each quarter. Doesn't sound bad for rent right? Its just for one room, utilities, and sharing a bathroom. So it would be just like a regular school's room and board. So why not just live off campus and pay $600 or $700 for a living room, kitchen and alot other things?

Ken Block has have youtube going crazy with his insane drifting skills or more formally known as gymkhana. Ken is the co owner of DC shoes and an inspiring rally driver who is know competing in the World Rally Championship. He has the been one of a few Americans that has every competed in the WRC. Ken has also participated in Summer Xgames regularly as well as the Baha 1000 2009 in Mexico. Ken says that in the off season his Gymkhana sessions are a way to sharpen his skills for rally racing. With over 12 million hits on youtube this guy is more than a fan favorite in the motor sport industry.

He has a new project coming up his third Gymkhana video. How rare his care was debuted on 4/20, of all dates to choose.

Driving the way he does takes years and years of practice, knowledge, and skillfully applying certain concepts like throttle control, braking, entering and exiting corners and etc. I wonder how many kids wrecked their cars trying to do similar stunts that Ken does for a hobby let alone for fun. People make it seem like its the ultimate communication platform there is. People will ask, "Do I have you on facebook?" In my case this doesn't mean anything because I'm that dude that just blends in with everything and let me hobbies and interests express themselves. I mean yeah its good to stay in touch with high school, college friends but most of the time its a gateway to online addiction. Online addiction is if you find yourself addicted to being on online social media outlets like Twitter, facebook, myspace, etc. I have all three but i limit my use. Usually on facebook i just see what everyone is up too and talk to a view "selected" people here and there and update here and there but nothing extreme. I mean nothing extreme because most peoples pages have so many widgets or applications that just makes their page look messy.

I do applaud for those who use Facebook for the right purposes, getting the message out, remembering someone, events, promotion, advertising etc. Even though advertising is annoying from time to time for random ads that do not apply to me what so ever.

Oh well seems like being an average person online means i guess I'm not talking to people, girls, the right way. If I don't have an interest in you why would I b.s. with ya you know. If I'm talking like, " hey how are you...what are you getting into....." making a conversation do you think i want anything else??? In this day in age saying good morning means " you're attractive I want to get with you" for some strange odd reason. I am mentioning this because there has been multiple times in which people say, "you deleted me off facebook!!!" to those persons i guess that's the ultimate slap in the face or something. In my eyes and people who don't care about the Internet like that we say, "its just facebook..." And if i do have someone on facebook and try to make sure they're alive and well i get oh I'm about to get off here; even though they have been online for hours at a time..hmmmmm don't complain about facebook and not do anything about it. The whole point of social Media sites is either catch up with old friends, get to know people, network, advertise, campaign, inspire. A good phrase that a Hip-Hop artist of mine i love says "ON TO THE NEXT ONE" this phrase can be used for anything and everything!!!

There are only a few vehicles that the average person can afford in this thing haha. Gumball 3000 Why is it called the gumball rally? I know the 3000 represents the mileage or kilometers they travel between various countries. According to good old Wiki, the race represents 3000 mileage of driving on public roads, which takes out the notion of having 600hp vehicles. Good thing it doesn't rely on speed and time because it is not the average speed vs. time race. There has been various incidents with drivers getting citations because of speeding and even cars being confiscated, and some even jailed because of their speeding! But it is more of a road trip, adventure, site seeing event more than anything. And showing off fast, exotic, classic cars as well.

The event started in 1999, damn now I feel old when people research it, and over the years the vehicles have been more outrageous then the previous year. More or less you have an entry fee of $46,000.....good luck with that buddy.

Someones personal opinion is what his or her take is on what is going on, what happened, what will happened and so on and so on. Not really recently but for as long as I can remember people have been shooting each others opinions down if it conflicts with theirs. One good example is Religion. When one persons view of God is conflicted with another that religion is typically named as 'wrong' or a 'bad interpretation' of that religion. Why do we think this? Is there such thing as a persons own choice to view the world in his or her own eyes and not through the eyes of others? I highly noticed this one year in college when a local christian church has invited Muslims to share their belief to whomever wanted to listen. It was the persons choice to leave before the Muslims came their if they did not want to hear or believe what the Islam faith is but they stayed. When the Muslims were speaking on how they view God and his prophet questions were asked multiple times making references in the bible on how to reference God and his prophet. Then I constantly keep hearing, "They are wrong. That's not right because God is this...God is that." This sickens me more than anything else claiming a religion is wrong, what makes either religion superior than one another? Not to mention that Christians and Muslims engaged in the Crusades which also, on another level, tried to showcase which religion is superior to one another. In my opinion no religion is superior or above the law than any other and all religions should carry the same merit in the world.

In this day and age person opinion has no merit. If someone asks you a question and you give him or her the your point of view and if it does not agree with the other person then you are either being mean, rude, disgusting, and the list goes on and on. This is another incident in which a persons Point of View has no weight. In todays world we all want to act and think alike which is a very bad concept to uphold without choice the world would be a very boring and sad place. The world would be like those government controlled society movies in which every person is the same, no variety, no choice. People want other people to dress, walk, talk, eat, drive, play, behave in a certain way that is similar to them. Choice is what makes us have different point of views.

Another incident in which we contradict each others opinions is in POLITICS. We argue that this side is the wrong side to be on because of this that and this. Or that this side is bad because of blah blah and blah. When the 2008 elections was going on I tuned into the News and listen to every candidates policies and views, even though once they are in the office they do what ever they want to, and made my decision based off of that. I am a democrat by nature but I am slowly turning not to be on any side but to be an American and want whats best for the whole nation. This means my views on politics could change every year to year decade who knows. After the election I have had, don't take this in offense, but multiple white people came up to me and bluntly said ," You voted for Obama didn't you?" In the back of my head I was like I can not believe you just told me that. Everyone made the 2008 election seem like a White verse Black bout. If Obama was a republican I would have never voted for him.
