Memorial Gymnasium Renovation Update

New bleachers are in place in Memorial Gymnasium. The enhancements that began in March retain the gym's historic ambiance while improving facilities for teams and spectators.

Old Siwash/Prairie Fire Athletic Club Gives $20,000 to Athletic Department

At halftime of the Lake Forest-Knox College men's basketball game on Saturday, February 23, the Old Siwash/Prairie Fire Athletic Club presented a $20,000 check to the Knox College Athletic Department. The donation is an annual gift from the Club. Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) officers Katie Schneider and Aaron Willits accepted the check on behalf of the athletic department.

Academic All-Midwest Conference Fall Sports Team Announced

The Midwest Conference recognized 28 Knox College student-athletes from eight league sports on the 2007 MWC Academic All-Conference Fall Sports Team. To be eligible for the academic all-conference team, student athletes must hold a cumulative 3.2 grade point average and letter in any of the MWC's fall sports.

Fall Sports Banquet

Knox College closed the 2007 fall athletics season with its annual Fall Sports Banquet Monday night in the Lincoln Room in Seymour Union. Knox College President Roger Taylor, Anne Taylor, Faculty Representative Larry Welch and Director of Athletics Chad Eisele presented awards. Head coaches also announced their 2007 team award winners and their 2008-09 team captains.

Knox Announces 2007 Volleyball Schedule

Knox College announced its 2007 volleyball schedule. The slate features seven home matches, including an October 18 matchup against Midwest Conference rival Monmouth College. Knox will open the season Friday and Saturday, August 31-September 1, at the Illinois College Invitational in Jacksonville, Illinois.

Jami Strinz Named Head Softball Coach

Jami Strinz was named the head softball coach at Knox College. She will replace Kathy Wagoner, who is retiring from coaching at the end of the 2007 softball season. Strinz was also named as the Senior Woman Administrator and assistant volleyball coach at Knox. She will begin her duties July 1.

Kim Schrader Named Head Volleyball Coach

Kim Schrader was named the head volleyball coach at Knox College. She replaces Kathy Wagoner, who is retiring from coaching at the end of the academic year. Schrader has been involved in intercollegiate athletics for 14 years, including the past seven years in the Knox College athletic department.
