2012 Premier car park passes now on sale

Premier car park passes for the 2012 event are now on sale, with numbered positions in the closest and best location for viewing the racetrack. Tickets are sold on a ‘first come first served’ basis – the sooner you buy, the better the location.

Advance price before 14th May at £40, including all occupants.

2011 Race Review

The weather on race day was overcast, cool and rainy unlike the unseasonal warm weather enjoyed in April and at the beginning of May. The course was produced in excellent condition by Robert Hankey, clerk of the course, and his assistant Richard Garton. Robert is wearing the flat cap in the picture.

Extensive watering had taken place which was appreciated by the Owners, Trainers and Jockeys with a good turn out of runners.

Richard Burton, who has recently recorded the most wins as a jockey with over 400 victories in point to point races, gave an excellent interview on Silk FM radio who were broadcasting live from the event.

Racegoers enjoyed a great day and Trade Stands reported good sales and contacts despite the rain encouraging race goers to keep in the shelter.

Our next meeting has a provisional date of 20 May 2012 when we look forward to greeting you back. Good weather has been ordered!!

Traffic flow on race day

Traffic flow on departure has changed. The Peacock Lodge entrance point is not to be used to leave the course. Traffic must follow the exit signs.

Watering the course

Here is a picture of the course being watered yesterday (Monday 9th May).

The spray attachment provides an even spread of water onto the race course.

Note that the tractor and water tanker keep off the racing surface.

The first race is at 2pm with the final race at 5:35pm. Pony Racing is at 1pm.
