THE LAST DRAGON WITH SAMUEL JACKSON AS SHONUFF!

Who is the Master? Apparently, Samuel L. Jackson. He reportedly has been cast as the urban martial arts bad-ass Sho'nuff for Columbia Pictures' upcoming remake of Berry Gordy's 1985 cult classic The Last Dragon. But the most important casting decision has yet been made. VANITY! Who do you think should cast in this part?! Blackarazzi.com has a poll that includes Meagan Good, Ciara, and Kim K.

The New Guerilla Style Art Movement!

Interestingly, graffiti street art from the likes of Banksy to Nick Walker is suddenly increasing in value as auctioneers from around the globe are bidding top dollar for these eclectic and rare finds. This movement catapulted from a series of London exhibitions, ranging from street vendors to major marketplaces, and is breaking out in America. What makes these statements of art increasingly desirable is the translation of expressionism, which combines both controversy and freedom. This is what stirs emotion from an arts perspective. These guerilla style artists represent originality and have created a collective consciousness in breaking rules, without fear of conforming to a society standard, in contemporary art. If you have £2500 (roughly $5,000) to spend, you can own one of these rare originals… and I can guarantee it would be worth every dime!

Black Nerds Network Clothing… Nerds are HOT!

Finally a couple of intelligent, stylish and young black clothing designers have produced a collection I can get down with! This awesome collaboration is called, Black Nerds Network. The clothing line, created by two friends from the U.K, decided to market the Black Nerd Network into an urban label after a game of chess, and a discussion on the differences between black culture stereotypes and how intelligently we as African Americans have grown, yes into nerds!

Through that conversation, a style movement was born and it soon evolved into a full-fledged clothing company. BNN has been getting most of their press through the social networking phenomenon myspace, as well as their own website. Black Nerds Network has had great success in sales through creating a clothing line both wearable and witty! The site, collection, and network all work together to spread the word, “it’s good to be a nerd!”

Check out their online store for more BNN statement pieces!

Wrist Game: Breitling Emergency Mission

As the ever-increasing euphoria of luxury watches has transformed into a status symbol, Breitling watches have taken center stage. One of the newest functions now available in Breitling is the “emergency mission timepiece.” This not only ‘commands attention’ as a statement piece but also combines both luxury and functionality. The emergency mission watch offers a built-in micro transmitter that broadcasts on an aircraft emergency frequency and can be used as a life saving option (in the event of a plane crash or boat capsize.) In addition to being a phenomenal timepiece, it offeres a transmitter that once activated, immediately notifies the National Guard and any other Rescue Services (for up to 48 hours.)

The watch itself can be purchased for around $7,000.00, but you will have to get your money up to purchase the emergency option, at $20,000. This is NOT kid friendly! If the antenna deploys rescue services in the event of a non-emergency, you’ll be looking at a serious fine that will cost you $250,000.00. Yet, if you’re looking for a watch without the steep price of such previously mentioned extras, there are plenty of other Breitling watches that begin at $6,000.00. All of these unique timepieces are Swiss Made, and retain their value as a quality watch that never goes out of style. Hey, if women can have their handbags…!

Wrist Game | Nixon: The New League of Time Pieces!

The new global trend is rare timepieces. People are moving away from BLING and merging with the idea of collectible and rare watches. This stunning collection by Nixon caters to the concept of ‘limited edition’ pieces. What people want these days, are watches that are designed in limited quality, which allows them to express their individuality and unique style. http://www.nixonnow.com

Issac Hayes passes at 65

Isaac Lee Hayes, Jr. (August 20, 1942 – August 10, 2008). Hayes was found next to a treadmill that was still running by a family member. The music icon most famously known for the Shaft theme was credited with the birth of disco, and rap. For those under 30, Hayes was known as the voice of Chef on South Park. He left that show after an episode made fun of Scientology. Hayes was a pracitcing Scientoligist. Our prayers are with his family.

Free Documentaries Website, A World of Possibilites!

Possibly the greatest web site you will visit since wikipedia, freedocumentaires.org. This genius site is making it easy and effortless for everyone with access to an internet connection to watch every documentary they have ever wanted to see but maybe for lack of access or time never got their hands on. The site's mission, to educate;

At freedocumentaries.org we strongly believe that in order to have a true democracy, there has to be a free flow of easily accessible information. Unfortunately, many important perspectives, opinions, and facts never make it to our televisions or cinemas (you can watch movies in our media category if you want to know why).

For this reason we decided to start freedocumentaries.org, a site where anyone with an internet connection can watch a movie to educate themselves or simply explore another perspective whenever they please. These movies aren't just for education but are also for entertainment.

The site fairly new already has a healthy catalog of films including, Bowling for Columbine, Invisible Children, SiCKO and The FBI's War on Black America just to name four. Check out the site for a complete list and watch trailers for any of the films to get a taste before you sink in.
