When you get Mech 12 error on a Kodak 605 thermal photo printer it is because the paper can not feed properly.So today i will discuss how to solve mech 12 error in kodak 605 thermal photo printer .

If you get Mech 12 error please check for any paper jam in kodak 605 thermal photo printer .Open printer top cover and see if any paper jam in printer.if you find any paper jam in printer mechanism remove it and restart the printer.
Clean the rollers: If you see the dust on any feed roller in kodak 605 thermal photo printer you have to clean it with soft cloth with cleaning chemical .if there is dust on feed roller it can slip and paper can not load and paer jam or mech error to show in printer.
Reset the printer: to reset the kodak 605 thermal printer you have to first Power off the printer button and unplug the wire from the power source. Wait for at least 1 minute and plug the wire in printer and power it on.
Check the paper tray: Make sure that the paper tray is properly inserted and that the paper is loaded correctly.

If none of these steps resolve the Mech 12 error, you may need to contact Kodak customer support for further assistance.

The new kodak 7000 printer has ribbon tearing problem.every time you print 5 to 6 prints
in kodak 7000 printer ribbon break automatically.

A new firmware is launched for this type of problem ver 11 for 7000 printer
you can update it and your problem will be solved

To download this firmware go to kodak.com and search for 7000 firmware 2011

To update ver 11 firmware in kodak apex first
you have to see that kodak 7000 printer connected to apex and found in device health check
and in ready position.

now go to the apex main screen and select {setup}
select {install}
than {install software}
insert your firmware cd and wait for a minute
click on check for media

when instllation media was found click yes to install
wait for 10 minute to comlete the process after that system will
restart automatically and your kodak 7000 printer is in ready position

Some times in apex this is happen that prints size is not accesable
because apex software does not detect your kodak 7000 printer

when 100 prints remaining in kodak 605 printer there is an error paper jam 60 .
Paper jam 60 error is not coming when you load new paper but at the end of the paper.
I checked everything related to it and also observed its mechanical settings.
I also change some parts of kodak 605 printer but the problem remains same.

So i am reached on a conclusion that there is some firmware related problem in kodak 605 printer
paper jam 60 will be solved when a new firmware is introduce by kodak

This vertical scratches mainly come because of some dust are there on the roller or may be
on the peel plate.

Recently i have faced problem with Kodak 605 printer that it conflicts with Epson T60 printer.
there are two printer attached to pc one is Kodak 605 printer and second one is Epson T60 printer.

both printers drivers installed in pc.when i am print with Kodak 605 printer prints comes ok and than
i print with Epson T60 printer prints comes ok but again when i print from Kodak 605 printer the command
will not work or it is conflict with Epson T60 printer.

solution

To solve this problem you have to remove both the driver first and than install epson t60 printer driver

now make epson t60 printer as default printer.
go start menu
select printer and faxes
select epson t60 printer
right click on epson t60 printer and make it default printer

now you have to attached kodak 605 printer and just on it
you can see window will detect new device
do not load driver automatically select it mannually
give kodak 605 printer drivers path mannually and install

than print from both printer one by one now you will find both printer working

QUESTION:

hi:
first of all thanks for your help with the videos, but accidentaly I recover my kioks from the OS, and I delete the recobery from the kiosk 2.2 and I've got the software from kiosk 4.0 but I cant install because it sends me a message : kodak printer 68xx, 605xxx, firmare march 2010 cannot be installed on this system.

and this message I recieve since I tried to install other firmwares downloaded from the kodak website.

and when I try to install the sofware from the cd it shows me a message : the printer firmware is not installed , and when I tried to ommit this step it didn't allow me to install it. the kodak kiosk model is: kodak picture console model 3

I would like to request you if is possible to send me the software 2.2 or the original software to install it into the kodka kiosk

In this tutorial i will show you how to update kodak 6800/6850 /605 printer firmware

Kodak will be introducing a new generation of media,later in 2010,to replace the existing media for the KODAK photo printer 6800/6850 and the kodak 605 photo printer

Important note:

you must install the firmware before you load the new media .the printer will not work with the new media until the firmware is installed.
Once the firmware is installed both the old and new media will work in the printer.

Check for the current firmware

Make sure that the power of printer is on and ready appears on the printer display.
On the operator panel of the printer , press menu until ''main firm = ''appears with the current main firmware version note that.

Installing firmware

Make sure that:

the 68xx/605 printer driver is installed on the computer.

the power for the printer is on ,and "Ready" appears on the printer display

Insert the cd into cd drive of the computer.
navigate to the appropriate folder on the cd .
double click the "Kodak photo printer 68xx firmware" folder for the 6800/6850 printer.
double click the "Kodak 605 photo printer firmware" folder for the 605 printer.
Double click the download.bat file the firmware installation begins.
" F/W download complete .Press any key to continue.." appears when the firmware installation is complete press any key on the keyboard to close window.
Remove the cd from the cd drive
Verify that the firmware is installed .Follow the above instruction for "verifying the current Firmware Version ".
In kodak 68xx printer it appears like this " 232", "331", "432", "652", and in kodak 605 printer it appears "10.02" on the printer display.

In this tutorial i will show you how to load paper and ribbon in kodak 6850 printer

Slide the cover release toward you.

Carefully open the upper cover.

CAUTION:
The thermal head becomes extremely hot during normal operation. Do not touch it.

Note: The cover does not open beyond a 90° angle.

Remove and discard the used ribbon.

Remove the take-up spool from the printer.
1. Push the take-up spool to the right.
2. Remove the left side of the take-up spool from the spool holder on the left.
3. Remove the right side of the take-up spool from the spool holder on the right.
Remove the supply spool from the printer.
1. Push the supply spool to the right.
2. Remove the left side of the supply spool from the spool holder on the left.
3. Remove the right side of the supply spool from the spool holder on the right.
Discard the used ribbon.
Note: Images remain on the ribbon after printing. If you need to maintain confidentiality, dispose of the used ribbon appropriately.

Insert your fingers into the holes in the plastic on the end of the ribbon. Remove the plastic cover from the ribbon.

IMPORTANT:

Do not remove the wrapper from the ribbon at this time.

5.	Load the supply spool into the printer. Push the bar code end of the supply spool into the spool holder on the right. Place the left side of the supply spool into the spool holder on the left. Rotate the thumb wheel until the lugs on the spool holder lock into the notches on the supply spool.

6.	Remove the label and wrapper from the ribbon.

7.	Load the take-up spool into the printer. Push the right side of the take-up spool into the spool holder on the right. Place the left side of the take-up spool into the spool holder on the left. Adjust the take-up spool until the lugs on the spool holder lock into the notches on the take-up spool.

8.	If there is any slack in the ribbon, remove it by turning the supply spool.
9.	Close the upper cover by pressing on the center of the cover until it clicks in place.

In this tutorial i will show you how to clear a paper jam in kodak 605 printer

To clear a paper jam in kodak 605 printer you have to go through this steps :

On the operator panel, press and hold Paper Rewind.
If the Paper Empty message appears:
1. Open the paper door.
2. Cut off any damaged or printed paper from the paper roll. Do not damage or mark any of the rollers.
3. Load the paper in kodak 605 printer .
When the Ready message appears, the paper jam is cleared.
If the Paper Jam message still appears:
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Open the paper door.
3. Open the top cover.
4. Remove the ribbon from the kodak 605 printer.
5. Manually rewind paper onto the roll.
  CAUTION: Prevent damage to the printer. Do not pull abruptly on the paper.
6. Cut off any damaged or printed paper from the paper roll. Do not damage or mark any of the rollers.
7. Look inside the kodak 605 printer and carefully remove any pieces of paper.
8. Turn on the kodak 605 printer.
9. Load the ribbon.
10. Close the top cover.
11. Load the paper.
When the Ready message appears, the paper jam is cleared.
