I am using kojic soap for over two months now. I noticed a great improvement on my skin. I can feel the smoothness all over (because I'm using kojic soap as my bath soap). I'm not quite interested in its whitening effect on my skin but it truly does.

Last early May my whole family spent two days in the beach and my youngest son was under the sun practically the entire time he was awake...He was really sun burnt! I asked him to use the kojic acid soap (at that time only my daughters and I were using kojic soap). I'm very happy to observe that only after a week, my son's skin color began to lighten. Now, a month after, you won't notice the sun burnt skin anymore except on his back. (Why the back? My son, who's only 8 years old, does not often soap his back when he takes a bath. :-)). So if you check on him, you'll notice the difference in his skin color on his face and arms from that of his back!!!

My daughters has almost nil pimples. Those of you who know them, you may personally check on their skin... Feels like baby!

My husband found the kojic soap quite drying on his skin. (Well, I guess it's more because of his age- above 40's). He instead uses glutathione soap which also gives same effect on the skin but has moisturizer and therefore does not dry his skin but it does not have antibacterial properties like the kojic soap.

Another effect of kojic soap on me- I noticed my stretch marks were lightened and my keloid scar disappeared. I did not expect these but was wonderfully glad they did!

My whole family now are fans of this wonderful natural product- the kojic acid soap!

Two days since I began using the Kojic Soap on my face and whole body I immediately noticed some suppleness of my skin. But I still have to further prove to myself the effect of the Kojic Acid. In fact, I am particularly interested on how it will affect my skin especially on the pigmentation on my left cheek, my underarm- which I am hoping will be whiter, and some other parts of my body which I also hope will be fairer. I’ll give you update on this in the weeks to come.

Kojic Acid is generally safe to use. It does not appear to have carcinogens or cancer causing agents. Some users with sensitive skin who used kojic acid over a prolong period of time reported to have developed contact dermatitis, a form of allergic skin reaction. In order to counter this side effect, researchers found that by adding another ingredient called topical corticosteroid can help diminish such adverse reaction.

So if you have sensitive skin, it is wise to consult a doctor for proper medical advice or treatment, even before you start using kojic acid products.

According to Wikipedia, Kojic acid is a chelation agent produced by several species of fungi, especially Aspergillus oryzae, which has the Japanese common name koji.

Kojic acid is a by-product of rice fermentation in the production of sake, the Japanese rice wine. It may also be derived from a type of fungi or mushrooms. Therefore, Kojic acid is a natural product.

Kojic acid was originally discovered in Japan sometime in the 1990s.

I started to become curious about KOJIC ACID when a friend of mine gave me a KOJIC ACID SOAP.

While we were having a conversation, she probably had noticed a small pigmentation (discoloration) on my left cheek which I suppose was the reason that prompted her to mention about the KOJIC ACID SOAP to me. She then told me her own experience with kojic soap and that of her other friends. Thus, I became curious about this Kojic acid thing.

I have actually seen skin lightening products with Kojic acid being sold at the local Department Store and have heard my own sister mentioned about it but I was simply not interested then. I had the initial impression that Kojic Acid is some kind of a synthetic chemical that is used for skin bleaching or skin lightening.

But since the Kojic Acid soap was given to me by my friend to use and test on my face and body, I decided to make a research on it. Thus, this blog.
