At least not using automatic upgrade. This morning I did that and not only I lost our website, but also the trac, subersion and the forum. And it seems it’s not just me.

Finally, after weeks of hard work, eBox Technologies has a new website. Much more focused on the product, services we offer and our partner network.

Yesterday, the ebox and warp staff went to Alagon (25km from Zaragoza) to have a very nice BBQ, or should I say WBQ?

We had delicious food, drinks, music, a swimming pool and weather couldn’t be more perfect.

And also we ended up with a new guest in our home

Yesterday, we received the second prize for the IDEA contest. And I wonder, how can a company be amongst the 10 most promising startups in Europe, and finish second on a local contest?

So we didn’t win the prize. I don’t think we really expected to win, but that would have been nice. Being amongst the 10 most promising startups in Europe is cause for celebration though.

It’s really great having an event like this “at home”. Even when I did not attend the master class itself, the experiences and moments of insight shared by people like Marten Mickos while hanging around after the event were wonderful.

So once again, Innovate Europe starts in Zaragoza, although this time a bit different. There is a “Master Class” which started yesterday with a roundtable called “Thriving in the Crisis”. We could listen to some of the experts which will be sharing their experiences at the master class, like David Sifry, Marten Mickos, Yoav Leitersdorf, Maximilian Niederhofer, Barak Berkowitz, Madeline Duva, and Mike Rogers, conducted by Ignacio de la Vega .

Ignacio and Javi will be attending the Master Class this week, but I also joined the roundtable (this was the only part free and open to the public) and took some pictures.

Having been in the MySQL conference 2009 two weeks ago, I could see there’s a world of difference between people speaking there, and these guys. You can see the experience through the lenses: how the speak, how they move, the way they look at the public, and even directly at the camera. Even when taking pictures at a roundtable is more difficult than with a single speaker, I got wonderful conditions to shoot. Even the light was good enough.

Stupid me. I’ll try to fix that soon.
