I thought that you might like to know that I have published a sequel to my aikido book, “Aikido, Iron Balls and Elbow Power”. The new book is called “Aikido Body, Mind and Spirit”. Following the same general format as my first book, it explores a range of problems and questions from the point of view of a student training with a fictional aikido master instructor called Alex Essani. The conversations between Ian, the student, and Alex Essani, the teacher, are inventions that serve to examine training principles, practices and problems. In this new book Ian is introduced to further ideas regarding aikido practice in the dojo, building on the lessons he learned in the first book. Subsequently he is encouraged to explore rather less pragmatic ideas relating to mind and spirit.

Founded in 1999 by Terry Ezra Shihan, the KAA is dedicated to integrating, as effectively as possible, the profound philosophy of Aikido into daily practice.
