<strong>Het BIPT heeft eind vorige maand 4G-licenties afgeleverd aan Belgacom N.V., BUCD B.V.B.A., KPN Group Belgium N.V. en Mobistar N.V. Ook het Canadese Craig Wireless Belgium, Inc. dong naar een licentie mee, zij het zonder succes. In totaal werd 155 MHz succesvol geveild met een totale opbrengst van 77.790.000 euro. De federale overheid had gehoopt minimaal 80 miljoen euro uit de veiling van de 4G-licenties te puren. De verworven gebruiksrechten gelden voor een periode van 15 jaar. Die gaat in op 1 juli 2012. </strong><br>
Naast de vertrouwde mobiele operatoren, is BUCD een vreemde eend in de bijt. Achter de vennootschap gaan Aziatische investeerders schuil. Het legde 22,51 miljoen euro op tafel voor 45 MHz (in het frequentiespectrum 2.575-2.620 Mhz).</p>
<p>Belgacom telde 20,22 miljoen euro neer voor 2 x 20 MHz (2.500-2.520/2.620 – 2640 MHz).</p>
<p>KPN Group Belgium betaalde 15,04 miljoen euro voor 2 x 15 MHz (2.535-2.550/2.655-2.670 MHz) terwijl Mobistar 20,02 miljoen euro veil had voor 2 x 20 MHz (2.550-2.570/2.670-2.690 MHz).</p>
<p>Het nieuwe mobiele 4G-netwerk maakt mobiel dataverkeer tegen heel hoge snelheden mogelijk, tot tien keer sneller dan 3G.</p>
<p>Klanten kunnen zodoende hun mobiele datatoepassingen met een nog groter gebruikscomfort gebruiken op hun smartphone, laptop of tablet.</p>
<p>Videostreaming op die apparaten kan onmiddellijk, zonder download-tijd.</p>
<p>Bovendien vergroot 4G de capaciteit van het mobiele netwerk aanzienlijk zodat het stijgend gebruik van mobiele diensten en oplossingen probleemloos wordt opgevangen.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last week’s release of GoMo by Google is more evidence that the mobile web is coming to a crucial stage in its natural development. Google had previously announced that 79% of advertisers had sites that were not optimised for mobile devices and the GoMo initiative aims to help those companies create mobile-friendly sites.</p>
<p>We applaud Google’s initiative as it will encourage advertisers to raise their mobile game. Mobile ad networks serve billions of page views so this is a huge opportunity for their advertisers but often they waste this by linking their banner ad to their website, rather than a mobile optimised version.</p>
<p>We know from our research that a brand will see 80%+ bounce rate by serving their website to the mobile consumer so in essence each advertiser is simply burning their ad-spend unless they link the consumer to a mobile friendly experience. Mobile lazy brands are doing a disservice to the industry and, more importantly, to their consumers.</p>
<p>Google are a mobile friendly ad-network, as are Microsoft and Mocean Mobile whom we have teamed up with too.  We look forward to working with the rest of the mobile ad-networks to ensure they can maximise their advertisers’ spend.</p>

<p>We saw many cases where publishers removed the quiet zone in order to save space. This is not a good idea, and it is highly recommended that this not be done.</p>
