December update

2013-12-21T19:09:00.000-08:00

After months of travelling and school I once again find myself on winter break with very little to do, So I hope to spend most of my newly acquired time finishing projects, which I have many of. I spent a lot of time last winter working on revamping my Skaven, I am considering selling them in the near future to raise some funds to do more traveling and I also plan to take on another army to keep around for a while. After a few years of work I have really grown to love this project, no matter how tedious it was at times. I have a few final hurdles to go through before it will be complete. More updates are soon, there is plenty more to come!

may update part 2.

here are the beginnings of my nurgle force, all are still really WIP I am still working on developing a theme/color scheme, but so far my experimenting with Plague Bearer flesh tones has yielded all sorts of possibilities.

Golden Rat? May update part 1

2013-05-05T09:33:00.003-07:00

Hey all, I am a little more than half way through my study abroad experience. I returned back to the US briefly for the holidays and that visit was prolonged because of a funeral. Thankfully I did manage to get some painting in, a new project a Nurgle Fantasy force. I am not really sure what my long term plan for them is, probably just something to continue working on in my free time over the summer once I return. My skaven army got a frantic make over in January prier to my departure, for the Underempire's first Golden rat contest, and although other Armies out did my own I had a blast participating. I apologize for the bag image quality, I currently have a better Camera set up and some better backdrops awaiting me at home. you can find more pictures here on my submission blog or here on my photobucket: http://s1034.photobucket.com/user/GabrielWhite/library/Skaven%20Army/Golden%20Rat%20Entry%20Album?sort=3&page=1

2012-12-23T20:19:00.004-08:00

It's been a few months since my last update here, but I've done a few projects since my last post. The Blood Angel's I took on in August are just about done now, I'm just working on a few more things then they are headed back to their owner. I just finished my third semester of college and I have decided to spend my next semester studying in Germany. The program I choose encompasses both an intensive language course with a German Semesters worth of classes, which means I will be gone for the next six months, I leave in mid January and I will be back August 1st which means I will no longer be taking commission work, I have not decided if I will continue when I get back.

I hope to continue with the hobby and to perhaps get more involved in playing Warhammer fantasy, for I've decided to hang on to my skaven for the foreseeable future, I'm even looking to finish a second army of Lizardmen for my friends to use. So that is where I am at now, I plan on working on other artistic ventures while I'm abroad making the most of what I suspect will be beautiful scenery around me. Thank you all for all the support and business, it has been a crazy experience but I have certainly learned a lot and drawn some valuable lessons from this all. - Gabe

Hello there everyone, I am going to try to make posts on this blog a monthly thing, summering what I have been up to and all that. I have been toying with the idea of starting a youtube series as a substitute for some of the more boring photo updates I post. This month I worked on a Warriors of Chaos reinforcement project for the lightning themed Tzeentch army I did back in October of last year, the project was pretty straight forward and included two exalted lords on juggernauts, two on discs, a bunch of marauders, and some hounds. for those of you who haven't seen other pictures of the army which I did way back in October check out my photobucket album dedicated to it here http://s1034.photobucket.com/albums/a426/GabrielWhite/WOC%20army/

back in October I was asked to make a Tzeentch warshrine, It was one of the funnest aspect of the project and ended up looking like this My concept was a giant floating chaos fish, and jokingly said to my client last week that I would get around to making him it, well I did just that. It was a pretty striaghtforward build, I used super sculptly for the base of it, added detail in green stuff and some chaos spawn bits here and there. Next I have another space wolves project followed by a huge blood angels project! so stay tuned! I have one item for sale on eBay right now, a privateer press Retribution Phoenix http://www.ebay.com/itm/221101768184?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

So it has been a super really long time since I last updated this page, thankfully I have been painting away since my last post. I've painted something like six armies since I started doing commission work online nearly one year ago, which for me is a major accomplishment. I just recently finished a space wolves project after returning home from a three week vacation to Europe. I am planning on spending whatever down time I have between projects working on my Skaven and a Necron army I recently acquired. In this post I will try to include some pictures of what I have painted since my last post, hundreds more pictures can be found here at my photobucket. Cheers!

So its spring.

2012-03-04T22:03:00.006-08:00

Hey whomever might be reading this, you probably have noticed how little activity there has been here and on my Dakka blog! well balancing school and painting is hard.. really hard! I have managed to do some work but not nearly as much as I want, hopefully with the summer coming up and spring break that can change!

What have I been up to lately?

2011-10-18T22:12:00.000-07:00

I have begun working on a massive Tzeetch themed Warriors of Chaos army, some of the warriors are adorned with a sort of enchanted lighting looking armor. The project is an interesting one because I've had to tie various elements of Khorne into the mix.

Its been a while!

2011-09-07T15:54:00.000-07:00

So the summer has come and passed and I have begun my first year at college! I think I can finally say after nearly a month I am settled. Over the last few weeks I was commissioned to paint a Dark Eldar themed army inspired by Phil Kelly's army the author of the codex. It was an amazing project to have and I am quite pleased with the final result, other then that I have continued my eBay venture. But my most recent project is the new warhammer forge vermin lord! I have some smaller commissions coming up in the weeks to come as well.
