I’m nearing the end of my folio shots for school. It’s been a MASSIVE effort with many of the props being fashioned or refashioned by me. I even managed to rope The Cookie into doing a bit of drawing for me!

There’s a bit of lamp refashioning going on with the hook and the quality yarn (insert wink or red high heel here).

& updated the notes

So… at the study skills seminar they suggested a chalk wall. Neither The Big Girl nor I were that excited about the prospect of chalk dust all over her bedroom so we came up with this instead.

The frames are the super cheap (like $9.99) ones from IKEA. We just opened them up and flipped the generic grey IKEA paper over & then added those great brass frame hangers to the back of the board.

She can easily remove the boards and update them once the boards are full (& finished with) we are photographing each board. The “notes” can then be saved onto the pc & iPad for easy reference. As it is working so well I think we will fill the entire wall with the whiteboard frames.

Hardly even creative and certainly not a craft BUT mighty useful.  Do you think you might hack yourself a set?

The return of the blur.

The big girl and I attended a study skills seminar during the week and now I’ve set to work on a bit of an IKEA hack.

Fingers crossed it works out the way we’ve planned…both in terms of idea and better time management when it comes to the study.

& got soaked to the skin
ate Japanese with the fam
& felt proud of the pharlap in my life

PS: Did you know I made a rule about the collections? I did! I made a 52 week rule & this is collection number 52. As my kids would say “I did a big achievement”. I’m mighty proud of my stickability.

I didn’t get good at it until about week 20 though so I think I’ll keep going.

I actually made something!

It’s a one ball, couple of hour wonder!

Just a basic bucket beanie…made at the request of my boy!

Gosh it felt good to be back on the hook!

I posted about hashtags & geotags (& feet in fact) over at JustB. Interesting stuff. Go & have a read…more opinionated than the stuff I share here but hey – variety and all that. Also I’ve actually got quite a lot to say in the flesh & JustB feels kind of fleshy.

& thought about great heights
& about striving for them
& about maybe reaching them too

I’m sure that you’ve noticed the general lack of creating lately. Pretty much all my creative energy is being taken up with the click stuff.

Still running like a mad woman but instead of coming up with ideas of things to make (& how to make them), I’m busy building images and deciding what props I need to keep my eye out for.

While we were away for a few days this past week I did manage a bit of “crafting”. OK so maybe I’m stretching the friendship a bit but it did involve weaving. I only had to invest about 15 minutes & I’m quite chuffed with the result. Just the sort of thing I seem to be able to manage at the moment.
