It feels almost a little strange to be able to share this with you all. We have been watching, tasting, learning and labeling for a the last few weeks, that we almost didn’t know what to expect once we had opened the doors. Since ‘day one‘ last Friday (was it really only Friday!) we have all been caught up in the whirlwind, that we almost forgot to stop and take a second to share the exciting news with you all.

Yes, Koskela‘s new showroom is open at Rosebery, which we are extremely excited about.  However along with the lovely new showroom, we also have a lovely new kitchen (because really, what were we going to do with all that space?), and that kitchen is Kitchen by Mike. Normally we would probably be concerned if we were “eating out” everyday for breakfast and lunch, but in the case of Kitchen by Mike, it doesn’t quite feel that way. The food is so deliciously vibrant, flavoursome and wholesome, you would have to try pretty hard to convince us that the food was anything but good for us.  Good thing the showroom is so large, it means we get to ‘cover lots of ground’ and walk for a lot of the day, so to speak.

Follow along with Kitchen by Mike’s twitter, as well as liking on Facebook to keep up informed on the ever changing daily menu. There isn’t really a menu at all, as the kitchen let what is in season and tasting delicious at the markets each day dictate what will be cooked up in the kitchen.

With all that extra afternoon light that Daylight savings brings, we are finding that we are spending so much more time outside, particularly in our gardens.  Creating an outdoor space at home that you can relax in is such an important element of the home, one that is often over looked.  We have such a lovely range of garden tools in store, that hopefully can help make the gardening experience a touch more enjoyable.

We are looking for new cafe and kitchen staff!

Are you a wholesome, warm,  enthusiastic person?  Without giving too much away, we are looking for cafe and kitchen staff for our new kitchen which is due to open at the end of January. These are exciting opportunities for those who share our love for food, hospitality, people and have a great customer service focus to join a truly amazing new cafe environment.

The cafe is based on Rosebery and will be open 7 days a week.  Full time, part time and casual positions available.

We recently had the pleasure of being featured in a few magazines! This month keep an eye out in the Jan / Feb 2012 issue of Vogue Living for a lovely article about our collaboration with Regina Wilson, producing a range of beautiful cushions and throws which you may have seen on our website or in our showroom.   They also mentioned it on their blog too which was very nice!

Also featured in GQ‘s DEC / JAN 2012 issue are our very popular Woolly Pockets, Wally! We wrote about them here, and we were so excited to see them receive a little bit of extra attention.
