This post is in response to the numerous requests I get from those who want to swim from Molokai to Oahu.  For those of you who don't understand why someone would want to swim 27 miles of rough open water, well, first you're at the wrong blog, but even for those who are used to extreme adventures, you might need a bit of background.

2012 H.U.R.T. 100 Results



Aloha Runners,

We hope everyone had as much fun as we did at the 2012 H.U.R.T. 100. What a great weekend. Thank you to all those who made this event possible. The results for the event can be viewed here

Out of the 109 starters, 46 were able to complete the distance within the 36 hour time limit. Jason Loutitt and Tracy Garneau both won their second H.U.R.T. 100.

The 2011 XTERRA Trail Run World Championship at Kualoa Ranch, Hawaii, featured something old, something new, and a record number of runners on Sunday, December 4.

This was truly one of the most awesome moments of my life, as the challenge from Moloka'i to O'ahu was unlike anything I have ever experienced! As many of you know I ride my bike to work and back home 5 days a week. Fifteen miles to work and fifteen home. Great cardio workout and I have hundreds of miles of heart rate info in my Garmin 305 to prove it. Oahu is not a bike friendly place to ride. Way too often I encounter crazy things in the bike lane that never would be tolerated in the normal traffic lane. This video

It’s not like you need a good excuse to devise a plan to go to Maui, but just in case you do – we’ve got two ideas – the XTERRA Kapalua 5k and 10k trail runs on October 22nd based out of the Ritz-Carlton on Maui’s insanely beautiful northwest coast.
The course itself is green, in-and-out of the forest, and very challenging.  It all starts on a big, green lawn at the Ritz, and the real fun
