Hi Koi Lover,

I believe it's hard too find the Kanoko Showa with good quality at the local breeder.Maybe we will find it when we go through Japan, because Japan is home many super quality of nishikigoi.They have many great great koi and so unique koi.Sometimes we will see new strain koi that we never find anywhere else.

Indonesia have many koi breeder too, and few of the breeder produce unique koi.On my last blog I give the picture of KANOKO SANKE, now I'd like to show you my KANOKO SHOWA.This showa is produce by local breeder, and I think this is one of unique koi with medium quality that I ever have.Shumi is sharp and the kanoko is fairly perfect.

Maybe some of hobiest not too familiar with kanoko scale, and said the beni is dirty.Yes, when you want to judge this kanoko you have to look at their scale, when the beni is fit in scale that's mean a good kanoko.And don't misleading with kuneko which is top kujyaku breeder in Japan.. :)

Hi Koi lover

On April 6-8 Koi show will be held in Blitar and I think the right moment for me to bring my koi to fight.There are three kois I will bring ; Showa 25cm, ghosiki 30cm and goromo 28cm.
Showa will be strong black horse I believe.Ghosiki inazuma could be get reach a good achievement, and goromo inazuma would be try to break the domination.I believe the competition will be very tight because Blitar is one of central koi in Indonesia, but I will try to be the best.
Showa have a good chance, but I know this is not easy to win.But with pattern, beni and sumi quality showa will be a dream koi for next years.I optimized on showa and ghosiki.

Ghosiki have inazuma pattern, unique and very rare.With promised body I believe would be get a good achievemen.I hope so..!!

Hi Koi Lovers,

Today I have bought a new unique koi.This very rare variety called SHOWA GHOSIKI,size 47cm,with motogoro on the fin.Look at his deep beni,looks like have a three dimension.The weakness maybe is beni solidness.But with soft water on my pond I believe the sumi would be grow on top of his beni and make it looks solid.Showa Ghosiki the most unique koi at kozi koi.

I buy this koi from a Hankoi farm, he is a breeder and the product is unique koi with good quality.

My plan is bring him to All Indonesia Koi Show,on December. I Hope he will develop well until that time, and be a champion in kawarimono class.

I'm very appreciate for whose breeding good quality unique koi, because this is not easy to wait and see unique koi develop until he get a good looking.

Salam koi lover,
Dulu waktu awal-awal pelihara koi, saya selalu terheran - heran melihat koi yang satu warna seperti chagoi, ogon atau kigoi masih tetap dipelihara penghobby.Karena-seperti biasa- nubie seperti saya pasti senang varietas yang warnanya ngejreng seperti kohaku,sanke dan showa.Dan seiring waktu semua anggapan itu terkikis ,karena ternyata chagoi,ogon,benigoi,aka hajiro,bahkan hajiro sendiri mempunyai keunikkan yang bila digabung dengan koi sanke,showa dan kohaku akan membentuk kombinasi warna di kolam sehingga tidak membosankan.
Dulu juga waktu awal-awal pelihara koi,saya sering bertanya-tanya dalam hati bagaimana cara agar bisa mempunyai koi yang dijual di internet, tapi ga perlu merasa resah karena takut koi tak terkirim.Maklum, nubie, hehe.
Seiring pengalaman, referensi mulai berkembang dan sering googling akhirnya membuat saya tetap membeli koi dari sumber-sumber koi lokal tetapi dengan cara memasang distributor yang bisa diandalkan untuk memantau dan mencari koi-koi unik dan terbaik agar dapat di kirim ke Jakarta.
Hal tersebut ternyata berhasil.Beberapa kali saya berhasil mendapatkan koi dengan kualitas bagus tanpa harus meninggalkan area Jakarta.Memang bisnis koi adalah bisnis kepercayaan, jadi pedagang harus bisa bicara apa adanya sehingga pembeli bisa dengan nyaman memesan koi tanpa ada rasa curiga.
Salah satu hasil dari pantauan distributor adalah MIDORI GINRIN.Dari foto awal saya sudah memperkirakan midori ini akan jadi pembeda dalam koleksi dan jualan saya.Meskipun ada yang antik lainnya,tetapi dengan sisik ginrinnya, Midori ini akan terlihat mencolok dan sangat eye catching di kolam.

Kualitas Midori Ginrin ini tidak diragukan lagi, dari bodynya terlihat bakat jumbo dan sisik yang cemerlang menandakkan sehat dan masih muda.Semoga pertumbuhannya bisa tetap terjaga baik, dan menjadi Si Hijau yang Antik.

YANG LANGKA :AKA BEKKO HIKARI

Salam Koi lover,
Hari ini saya sangat senang sekali, karena setelah berburu beberapa lama, akhirnya ada juga koi unik dan antik yang saya idam-idamkan. Dan saya yakin stock koi ini amat sangat sedikit di Indonesia ataupun di dunia..hehe.
Koi yang saya dapat dari teman di Cirebon ini mempunyai panjang kira-kira 25cm, dengan warna oranye menyerupai varietas orenji yang terkenal itu, lengkap dengan sirip hikari yang mengkilat.Nah, keunikan koi ini terletak pada adanya sumi di badannya.Dengan perletakkan yang rapih dan bersih tidak ada shumi kecil yang menyebar di badan.
Sebenarnya kelebihan ini tidak saya perdulikan waktu koi masih baru dan bahkan sudah saya karantina.Hal ini baru saya sadari ketika beberapa langganan menanyakan varietas koi tersebut, dan kami semua kesulitan mengidentifikasi kecuali termasuk golongan kawarimono.Setelah itu saya tersadar bahwa koi ini merupakan koi yang selama ini saya idamkan..hehehe...setelah beberapa saat melakukan pengamatan saya menduga ini adalah jenis Aka Bekko Hikari.
Ternyata tidak mudah mencari koi yang benar-benar antik.Apalagi menjaga agar penampilannya terus istimewa.

PERAWATAN KOI BAGI PEMULA

KOI..banyak penyuka koi baru sekarang bermunculan, ini mengindikasikan pertumbuhan ekonomi sedang bagus.Akan banyak permintaan yang harus dipenuhi petani-petani ikan.Kadang coz karena order yang tidak mengenal jadwal , para petani yang harusnya menerapkan karantina dengan waktu yang agak lama pada koi yang baru 'naik" dari mudpond akan memperpendek waktu karantina tersebut.Dampaknya tentu pada kesiapan koi saat dikirim ke dealer atau kios yang kadang langsung melepas/menjual koi yang baru datang.
Banyak para penyuka koi pemula yang gak sabar lagi lihat koi baru melenggak-lenggok di kolam, langsung aja main ceburin ke kolam.Dampaknya kadang menyedihkan, besoknya koi mati.kenapa..? Karena koi belum siap menerima air dan suhu di kolam baru.
So,what the hexx we should do? Ada beberapa poin yang harus diingat waktu pertama kali memelihara koi :
1.Air
2.Pakan
3.Karantina
Ok,coba kita bahas satu-satu..

1.AIR
Air adalah tempat hidup ikan, jadi dapat disimpulkan kalo airnya tidak terawat akan mudah menyebabkan koi sakit atau mati. Agar air kualitasnya bagus dan bening maka dibutuhkan sistem filtrasi yang bagus pula.Ada beberapa sistem filterisasi,tetapi kalau kita pemula pilih yang sederhana dan mudah perawatannya.

2.PAKAN
Pakan adalah faktor penting untuk menunjang kehidupan koi.Untuk para pemula dianjurkan pakan yang tidak terlalu mahal, agar perawatan koi tidak terlalu memberatkan.Yang perlu dimanage adalah pola pemberian pakan.Sehari sebaiknya pemberian pakan adalah 3 kali dan jangan berlebihan.selain menjaga supaya kualitas air terjaga juga menjaga supaya koi tidak terkena potbelly.

3.KARANTINA
Karantina kaadang luput dari perhatian pecinta koi.Karena menganggap kolamnya sudah okay,bagus..masih bening menjadikan kita tidak waspada.Padahal karantina ini sangat penting.Ada dua fungsi dari tempat karantina ini
1. Karantina ikan baru
2. Karantina ikan sakit
Ikan yang baru kita beli harus dikarantina, agar dia bisa menyesuaikan diri dengan suhu dan keadaan air di lingkungan barunya.Selain itu karantina mencegah menyebaran virus yang dibawa ikan yang baru ke koi yang lama.
Sarana karantina koi tidak harus mewah,cukup satu aquarium 1 meter x 40 cm x 50 cm.Sedang peralatannya antara lain aerator,filter,dan heater.

Itulah uraian singkat mengenai koi bagi pemula.Nanti kita akan membahas lebih jauh bagaimana keeping koi yang benar.Semoga bermanfaat,happy keeping.

KEDALAMAN KOLAM

Banyak orang beranggapan bahwa untuk bisa mendapatkan koi ukuran jumbo maka kolam harus mempunyai kedalaman 2 meter.Mungkin benar kalau anda adalah petani koi, kedalaman 2 meter merupakan upaya untuk mempercepat pembesaran koi menjadi jumbo.Tetapi apakah semua hobiis mau mengorbankan keasyikan menikmati koi yang dibeli dengan harga relatif mahal dengan menempatkan koinya di kolam 2 meter?
Menurut saya sih tidak semua orang mau,karena selain biaya,kita akan kesulitan melihat koi dengan kedalaman kolam seperti itu.Sebenarnya ada yang lebih penting dari membuat kolam lebih dalam, yaitu bagaimana membuat kualitas air tetap bagus meskipun hujan pertama mendera.Jadi kolam bisa saja cuma sedalam 1 meter atau 80cm tetapi dengan kualitas air yang baik,kemungkinan koi menjadi jumbo bisa terjadi.Ada beberapa ahli mengatakan bahwa koi jumbo adalah bawaan gen.Jadi buat apa susah-susah men"jumbo"kan koi yang kita tidak tahu asal-usulnya ?
Dengan kolam sedalam maksimal 1 meter kita masih bisa menikmati liukkan koi kesayangan dan masih bisa maintenance air secara maximal.Di tempat saya kolam cuma sedalam 75cm,tp koi masih bisa berkembang.memang tidak maksimal,tapi cukup baik untuk hobiis yang ingin melihat perkembangan koinya.Apalagi rata-rata penghobiis tidak mau berlama-lama memelihara koi sampe bertahun-tahun.Begitu ukuran 40 atau 50 cm,mereka kebanyakan akan melakukan pergantian koi dengan ukuran 25-30cm.Ini umum terjadi di Indonesia.
Jadi inti tulisan saya adalah bahwa kolam koi tidak perlu terlalu dalam,bisa saja cuma 70cm,tapi dengan filtrasi bagus maka bisa didapat koi dengan warna dan tubuh yang bagus.Makanan bagus tidak akan berpengaruh banyak pada koi yang memang kualitas sedang.Pilihlah kolam yang sesuai dengan kolam anda dan pilihlah pakan yang sesuai dengan koi anda.

This utsuri have a good body.the beni is covered the body above their sumi.there is sumi Over the mouth,and I can't wait for another sumi that split the head by two area.The beni of this utsuri is clear,maybe just the position of sumi at the back is not really interesting.But the pattern is not really common for this variety.

Another utsuri.The beni is clear with a deep sumi.The half face have a medium quality.

KIN HI UTSURI 15cm

Yes, this is Hi Utsuri Hikari, look at the ring above the back.Can't wait this one grow up.I hope I have rare Utsuri variety.

An article by Douglas Dahl entitled 'Koi Classification and Judging Criteria' has given a good description of what this large koi category covers. Quoting the article:

"Included are all of the Karasugoi or crow carp family that are black with various white markings on the body and fins. Depending on how much white you have Hajiro (black with white only on the tail and pectoral fin tips), Hageshiro (black with white on tail and pectoral fin tips and on the head), Yotsushiro (Hageshiro with all white head),Kumonryu (Doitsu koi with killer whale pattern) and Matsukawabake (koi that changes from black to gray depending on water temperature forming a net black pattern).

There is a very new koi that has been put into Kawarimono due to lack of a better place because it is metallic and does not belong in Kawarimono. This is the Bene(red)Kumonryu called Kikokuryu. It is a metallic Kumonryu with a red pattern. It probably should be moved to Hikarimoyo because the black looks metallic so it has black, white and red metallic colors.

Next in favor is Goshiki meaning 5 colors that are white with a red Kohaku pattern and two shades of blue and black netting not only on the red but also on the white. Cool water makes the colors darken. It is important for Goshiki to have a clean red and white head with no sumi markings.

The next favorite is the Chagoi or brown/green tea colored carp. These koi grow fast and very large and become the favorite in the pond by their gluttony. Also in solid colors are the Kigoi (yellow koi), Soragoi (gray blue koi), Midorigoi (green koi), Benigoi(red koi), Aka Hijiro ( red koi with white fin tips) and Shiro Muji (white koi).

Next is a very recent cross between Chagoi and Kohaku or Asagi called OchibaShigure. This koi reminds people of autumn leaves because the hi shows up as a bright mustard pattern on a gray body with black netting over the whole body. TheDoitsu version of Ochiba Shigure has been called “antique” due to the colors.

The next group is the Kanoko group. Kanoko means “fawn” describing a dappled Kohaku red pattern that looks like cherry blossoms. This group includes KanokoKohaku, Kanoko Sanke and Kanoko Showa.

The next group are the Kage (robed)group. They include Kage Shiro Utsuri, Kage HiUtsuri, and Kage Showa.

The last group are the non-metallic Matsuba koi. They are Aka (red) Matsuba, KiMatsuba and Shiro Matsuba. There are also Doitsu versions of all of the above."
