The ‘Beautiful Foundation’ blog ‘The Sharing Real Estate Agency’ reported on December 17th on Lee Hyori‘s charity work in the poor hillside village. (Koreans call the poor towns ‘poor hillside village’)

According to the ‘Beautiful Foundation’, Lee Hyori paid the heating bills of the town’s folks’ and afterwards she created the ‘Hyori Fund’ to continue help the poor on a larger scale.

Also on December 16th, Lee Hyori brought her friend photographers and makeup artists to the Ahyun-dong poor hillside village and she offered to have the town’s folks’ photos taken for free. The elderlies in the town have trouble traveling on their own, so many of them don’t have an update photo of themselves. She also stayed on for hours to act as talk companion for the elderlies who normally don’t get to meet many people.

Last year in November lee Hyori had donated rice, ramen, and briquettes to help the elderlies who live alone in the Ahyun-dong poor hillside village. She also donated 50,000,000 KRW ($46,600 USD) to help with future heating bills for the Ahyun-dong residents.

Lee Hyori was going to donate briquettes again this year, but she learned that there were plenty briquette donations in Seoul, so she found a new way to help out for this occassion.

The town’s elderlies recognized Lee Hyori from her previous visit and they greeted her warmly. Lee Hyori was touched by the warm welcome and she gifted them with self-knitted hats for the town’s elderlies.

The ‘Beautiful Foundation’ wrote, “Lee Hyori took the photos of 15 elderlies in total. They not only lack the financial means but they also have tough time getting around with their frail bodies, so it was a great gift for the elderlies. Photographer Kim Tae Eun will also gift them with photos to be used for funeral portraits, so we’re sure it’ll be a meaningful gift.”

(In Korea it isn’t offensive or unnatural for someone to gift the elderly with an updated funeral portrait, because people more often than not have it prepared for themselves when they get old enough).

T-ara, “Will not work on alcoholic beverage ads in the future either.”

T-ara recently respectfully declined an offer for an alcoholic beverage CF that would have earned them over 100,000,000 KRW (about $97,000 at press time).

The members of girl group T-ara are all adults other than maknae Areum who is a minor. However, currently the 2nd most sought after dream that young people aspire to is to become an entertainer, so the idol groups are at the core of the youth trend and T-ara has really done the difficult thing in making their philosophy clear.

An associate of T-ara stated, “T-ara members have decided to respectfully decline the endorsement offer, because they understand that the young fans who imitate idol stars’ dance, fashion, and behavior could be drawn into the drinking culture if they appeared on a commercial for an alcoholic beverage.”

The associate made T-ara stands clear saying, “Even in the future T-ara will not star in commercial films that promote the drinking culture, which can potentially influence young people.”

Actress Park Shin Hye shared the memorable story of the first time she met Jang Geun Suk.

On the December 18th episode of SBS ‘Strong Heart’ Park Shin Hye was asked, “Is there any commercial film that stands out in your mind?” She answered, “I think I’d have to choose the commercial I shot with Jang Geun Suk as the most memorable.”

Park Shin Hye explained, “It was a makeup commercial shoot. We were shooting a commercial for a lipstick and I was partnered up with Jang Geun Suk. I remember that it was the first time we had met, we said hello to each other and right away we had to film a kiss scene hanging on a wire”, and she revealed that the two had to lock lips almost as soon as they introduced themselves to each other.

Park Shin Hye added, “From what I know there isn’t any other lipstick commercial that shows a kiss scene.” The MCs then asked if they touched lips for real and she answered while gesturing with her hands that indeed they had kissed and said, “We did touch lips for real. We filmed the drama ‘You Are Beautiful’ after that, so the kiss scene happened before the drama.

Kim Ah Joong‘s pencil thin legs are the latest buzz on the web.

Several photos of Kim Ah Joong had been posted recently on a popular online community board under the title, ‘Kim Ah Joong’s unrealistic looking thin legs’.

The photos were taken at the theater greeting event held for Kim Ah Joong and Ji Sung‘s movie ‘My PS Partner’. Kim Ah Joong is seen wearing a pair of black skinny jeans and her pencil thin legs really stand out in the photo. Some of the fans praised her determination to always stay in shape, but some fans were concerned over her drastic weight loss.

Netizens commented on Kim Ah Joong’s photos, “I told myself to stop eating after watching the movie ‘My PS Partner’”, “She makes me want to go on a diet”, “Wow that’s a little too skinny in my book”, “Shin So Yool‘s skinny too but standing next to Kim Ah Joong she looks normal”, “She got to eat some more”, and so on.

Actor Uhm Tae Woong has been cast in the upcoming MBC drama ’7th Level Civil Servant’.

According to the drama production team on the 18th, Uhm Tae Woong has accepted to play the role of Choi Woo Hyuk, a spy character in the drama ’7th Level Civil Servant’.

Uhm Tae Woong’s character Choi Woo Hyuk is a mysterious industrial spy, who possesses genius intelligence and masterful stealth. Uhm Tae Woong joined the filming in Thailand recently and he filmed the flashback scene of his character.

An associate of ’7th Level Civil Servant’ production team spoke with Star News on the 18th, “The reason that we cast Uhm Tae Woong to star on ’7th Level Civil Servant’ was to ensure that we’d get good ratings at the start of the drama. You can expect endless exciting rivalries between Uhm Tae Woong and Joo Won in the drama.”

By joining the cast of ’7th Level Civil Servant’ and playing the industrial spy in the drama, Uhm Tae Woong will be playing an evil character for the first time in 8 years since starring in the move ‘Another Public Enemy’ in 2005.

According to the production staff members the softy Uhm Tae Woong of ’1 Night 2 Days’ was nowhere to be seen on the filming set and he’s been actively getting involved in creating a believable character by even personally getting involved in wardrobe and hairstyle.

Uhm Tae Woong relayed a message via the production team representative, “I accepted the offer to star on ’7th Level Civil Servant’ in part because of my friendship with Joo Won and also because I was thoroughly impressed after reading the script. I’ll give 200% effort in the drama.”

’7th Level Civil Servant’ will tell story of trials and tribulations of rookie agents of national defense agency. Actors Joo Won, Choi Kang Hee, Hwang Chansung, and Kim Min Seo will play the leads and it is scheduled to premier in January after the drama ‘I Miss You’ ends.

The production report press conference of the movie ‘Tower’ was held at the Wangshipri CGV with actors Son Ye Jin, Sul Kyung Gu, and Kim Sang Kyung on December 18th.

Actress Son Ye Jin fashioned an elegant mini dress for the press conference. The pearl white dress was hung by two thin threads over her shoulder and it almost looked precarious as if it’d snap at any moment.

Son Ye Jin’s elegance and beauty captured everyone’s attention at the event and the dress also added a little sexiness to her overall look of the day.

‘Tower’ will tell the stories of survival and courage of everyday people in a disaster situation, when a fire breaks out in a 108 story skyscraper building. The film is set to premier on December 19th.

Actress Choi Ji Woo filming SBS ‘Running Man’ was captured by the fans.

Several firsthand accounts of witnessing actress Choi Ji Woo filming ‘Running Man’ at the beach in Gyeongsangnam-do Geoje were shared on online community boards and social networking sites on December 18th.

Several photos were also revealed by the fans and in the photos, Choi Ji Woo is seen making her way to somewhere with ‘Running Man’ member Kim Jong Kook. The two stars are wearing jackets of the same color, so it looks as though they’re likely on the same team.

On one of the photos in which she’s walking with Kim Jong Kook, she looks to be surprised at something but Kim Jong Kook walks nonchalantly without giving the same attention to whatever caught Choi Ji Woo’s attention.

Choi Ji Woo’s episode will air as the last episode of ‘Running Man’ for the year 2012 and it’s scheduled to air on December 30th.

On the December 18th episode of SBS ‘Strong Heart’ Park Shin Hye was asked how she became so much more beautiful recently and she was asked if she was on a diet. Park Shin Hye answered, “It’s nothing like that. I think it’s mainly due to the fact that I’ve lost my baby fat. I’ve been exercising a lot, so I think I’m making slow improvements and that’s all.”

The MCs then asked, “Do you think you look better in person or on screen?” Park Shin Hye answered, “Most people tell me that I look better in person. Also, people think I’m short but I’m actually 167cm tall (5’6″).” Then she got up and stood next to Park Kyung Rim to prove she was telling the truth.

Park Shin Hye also mentioned that she debuted as a child actor for Choi Ji Woo‘s character in the drama ‘Stairway to Heaven’ and she revealed that she’s met with Choi Ji Woo in Hong Kong after 10 years.

Park Shin Hye shared, “I met Choi Ji Woo sunbae at the Hong Kong awards ceremony. I met her as an adult this time after 10 years. Choi Ji Woo sunbae was surprised and said “Oh my you’ve grown up so much’.”

On the episode Park Shin Hye also shared that she’s great in sports.

On the December 17th episode of SBS ‘Healing Camp’ Kim Hee Sun was asked, “There’s a rumor that’s been going around that says you only have a pretty face and that you’re not so bright. Have you heard of it?” Kim Hee Sun answered nonchalantly, “So what if you’re not so smart?”

Kim Hee Sun continued, “Do you like women who are smart, perfect, and one that doesn’t seem to have any flaws? Women need to have a little bit of baekchimi. If you’re not so bright then all you have to do is live just the way you’re”, revealing that perhaps those who seek perfection in people are being unreasonable. (Baekchimi – a simple beauty that stem from someone not so bright, but rich in innocence).

It seemed like Kim Hee Sun was accepting the rumors that she wasn’t so smart, but there a twist to the end of her rebuttal. She stated, “I scored 138 IQ when I was tested for it in school. From what I know my IQ’s even higher than Kim Hye Soo unnie”, and she put an end to the rumor once and for all.
