If you haven’t booked transportation ahead of time, your first financial may be with a taxi driver at Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

Some cabbies will use their meter; others will want a flat rate without using the meter. This will be the first time you will get to use your bargaining skills.

If you plan to buy some goodies for yourself and your friends the best thing to do is spend a day or two walking around and making mental notes of prices on the streets.

Knowing ballpark prices is the only way to negotiate prices. You have to know the approximate prices on the streets. Otherwise you will be ripped of.

What you want to do is select an item, get the best price possible, and then go in for the kill. Tell the vendor to lower the price and you will buy 10 of them. The price should drop.

Another tactic is the "walk away". You can argue and argue, go back and forth, and when you don’t get you price, just walk away. The price should drop or the vendor will hurl some cuss words at you. Either way, no big deal. There are many vendors with the same items.

Being the first customer is always a good deal. The Thai's believe that making a sale to the first customer of the day is good luck. Not making a sale is a disaster. So, hit the vendors when they open and you should get some really good prices.

One other way to get a good deal is to have a Thai girlfriend that you trust. Take her out with you when you are shopping for yourself. Identify items that you want and then send her out a day or two later to buy them. She will get the Thai price as opposed to the foreigner, or farang, price.

Speaking the language helps lower the prices. You don’t have to go through all of the back and forth bartering. If you are a foreigner and can speak Thai, you will knock time and prices down quickly.

Last tip is to go to the Thai markets. There are markets in every city in Thailand. Some are weekend markets, some are night markets, and some are daily. These are mainly geared toward the local Thai's but we foreigners can get great deals there too.

จังหวัดตรังอยู่ห่างจากกรุงเทพฯ ประมาณ 864 กิโลเมตร การเดินทางโดยรถยนต์ทำได้ 2 ทาง คือ 1. ใช้เส้นทางจากกรุงเทพฯ-สุราษฎร์ธานี ระยะทางประมาณ 653 กิโลเมตรและตรงมาตามทางหลวง หมายเลข 41 สู่อำเภอทุ่งสง ระยะทาง 133 กิโลเมตร แล้วแยกเข้าทางหลวงหมายเลข 403 สู่ห้วยยอด ระยะทางประมาณ 50 กิโลเมตร เลี้ยวซ้ายเข้าทางหลวงหมายเลข 4 อีก 28 กิโลเมตร ถึงตรัง รวมเป็นระยะทาง 864 กิโลเมตร 2. ใช้เส้นทางจากกรุงเทพฯ มาตามทางหลวงหมายเลข 35 (ธนบุรี-ปากท่อ) ระยะทาง 90 กิโลเมตร และแยกเข้าทางหลวงหมายเลข 4 (เพชรเกษม) จนถึงชุมพร แยกเข้า ระนอง พังงา กระบี่ ตรัง รวมระยะทาง 1,020 กิโลเมตร

ทางรถไฟ

สำหรับการเดินทางโดยรถไฟ มีรถด่วนและรถเร็วออกจากสถานีกรุงเทพฯ ถึงสถานีตรังทุกวัน วันละ 2 เที่ยว โดยออกจากกรุงเทพฯ เวลา 17.05 น. และ 18.30 น.ถึงตรังเวลา 08.00 น. และ 10.15 น.

ทางรถประจำทางปรับอากาศ

ทางรถโดยสารประจำทาง จากสถานีขนส่งสายใต้ ถนนบรมราชชนนี (ถนนปิ่นเกล้า-นครชัยศรี) มีรถโดยสารประจำทางทั้ง ธรรมดา และปรับอากาศจากกรุงเทพฯ ไปจังหวัดตรังทุกวัน รายละเอียดสอบถามได้ที่ โทร. 02-4351199 (สำหรับรถปรับอากาศ) และ โทร. 02-4345558(สำหรับรถโดยสารธรรมดา)

ทางเครื่องบิน โดยสายการบิน นกแอร์และ โอเรียนไทยแอร์เวย์ (12 GO) มีเที่ยวบินจากกรุงเทพฯ ไปยังจังหวัดตรังทุกวัน

The Trang Chamber of Commerce in association with the Trang Province, Trang Municipality Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thai Airways International as well as other participating local authorities and private sector organisations - have cooperatively launched the 14th Anniversary of "Trang Underwater Wedding Ceremony 2010" event to promote tourism opportunities in the province. The event will be held during 12-14 February 2010 at Pak Meng Beach - one of the best known sand beaches with the peaceful atmosphere and the aligned Koh Meng as its background. The project is aimed to further promote the truly spectacular natural seaside and marine resources - with the warm atmosphere of love giving to each other under the concept of "Romantic Destination", as well as the beauty of a symbolic flower of the province named "Sri-Trang", whose pale violet blossoms in season are pleasantly ubiquitous everywhere .

Trang is the province endowed with charming tourism treasures combining several chests of jewels given by the nature numerous tropical rain forest valleys, distinctive and endorsing-imagination limestone stalactites and stalagmites, and spectacular waterfalls with purely natural water rushed from limestone caves. Being located along the coast of the Andaman Sea, Trang is an origin of an amazingly well-endowed coral reef, where is the habitat of aquatic plants and marine creatures. Kradan Island เกาะกระดาน เคยมากันรึยัง

เกาะกระดานถือเป็นเกาะที่สวยที่สุดในท้องทะเลตรัง เนื้อที่ประมาณ 600ไร่อยู่ในความรับผิดชอบของ อุทยานแห่งชาติหาดเจ้าไหม เกาะกระดานยังเคยเป็นสถานที่ที่ใช้จัดงานแต่งงานใต้น้ำ ในวันวาเลนไทม์ อีกด้วย

รอบเกาะมีชายหาดอยู่ 4 แห่งเกาะกระดานจึงเป็นเกาะที่สวยที่สุดของทะเลตรังที่มีเกาะอื่นรายรอบเป็นบริวารชายหาดเป็นทรายขาวละเอียดน้าใสจนมองเห็นริ้วทรายใต้พื้นน้ำสุดชายหาดด้านเหนือมีแนวปะการังทอดยาวออกไปในทะเลบริเวณชายฝั่งเป็นแนวปะการังน้ำตื้นจึงทำให้เกาะกระดานเป็นแหล่งดำน้ำดูปะการังน้ำตื้นอีกแห่งหนึ่งในทะเลตรังการเดินทางมาเกาะกระดานสามารถขึ้นเรือมาจากท่าเรือควนตุ้งกูใช้เวลาเดินทางประมาณ 1 ชั่วโมง

ชายหาดบนเกาะกระดานมีพื้นที่ประมาณ 1.6 ตร.กม. จัดเป็นแหล่งดำน้ำตื้นมีชื่อเสียงที่สุดของอุทยานฯ แนวปะการังเหล่านี้พบเกือบรอบเกาะ มีปะการังหลากหลาย แต่ที่น่าสังเกตคือยามน้ำลง ปะการังโต๊ะที่อยู่ในเขต Reef Flat ไปจนถึง Reef Edge มักโผล่พ้นน้ำ อาจเดินไปชมได้ แต่ควรระมัดระวัง อย่าเหยียบปะการังเด็ดขาด รวมถึงไม่จับสัตว์ทะเลขึ้นมาเล่น หากพลิกก้อนหินเพื่อดูสัตว์ ต้องวางอย่างเดิมทุกครั้ง อย่าพลิกให้ด้านล่างขึ้นมาโดนแสงแดด สัตว์เกาะติดขนาดเล็กจะตาย

บนเกาะกระดานมีกิจกรรมให้พักผ่อนสนุกสนานมากมาย ตามสไตล์ของแต่ละคน ไม่ว่าจะเดินเล่นบนชายหาดด้านหน้าเกาะชึ่งมีวิว ทิวทัศน์ที่สวยที่สุดในหมู่เกาะทะเลตรังเลยก็ว่าได้ หรือจะหาหนังสือคู่ใจซักเล่ม นอนอ่านหน้าหาดที่สงบเงียบ นอนอาบแดดให้ตัวดำ เดินดูพระอาทิตย์ตกที่หลังเกาะ ซึ่งก็มีวิวทิวทัศน์ที่แปลกตาและสวยไม่แพ้ด้านหน้าเกาะเลยที่เดียว
