After an extremely successful showing at the Mid American Horticultural Show, we will be at it again at the Community Associations Institute (CAI) Trade Show. This year’s show returns to Arlington Park in Arlington Heights. The show spans two days, February 3-4. We will be on the exhibit hall floor at booths 181-182. The hall opens February 3 around 1:30 pm and is open until about 5:00 pm. Then on Saturday February 4, the hall is open from 8 am – 3:30 pm.

In addition to the exhibit hall, the conference is also offering numerous educational sessions on both days, a great opportunity to learn about a wide array of topics relative to the community associations industry.

So come on out to Arlington Park this weekend and join us for the 2012 CAI Trade Show! You can find us at booths 181-182. For more information about the show and a full schedule and registration, click here -

It’s that time of the year again, time for the Annual Mid America Horticultural Trade Show. It is again being held at Navy Pier starting January 18th through January 20th. This is a great opportunity for the commercial sector to see what the latest products and practices are out there in the Green Industry.

Come visit us at booth #2500. We will have lots of information about our products and services and will be introducing our new mulch product for 2012, Black Mulch. This product is a great option for improving the contrast in your landscape and ultimately making a more visually enhanced landscape.

We are also giving away a Kindle Fire! Speak with one of our Arborists to learn how to enter the drawing. In addition, if you can get the golf ball to land on the tee in the Golf Ball Water Globe Game, then you will win a $10 gift certificate to the world famous Billy Goat Tavern & Grill located right on site at Navy Pier!

The City of West Chicago’s Frosty Fest was held on December 3. Despite the rainy weather, many from the community attended the parade of singing troupes, live reindeer & holiday characters and witnessed the creative hand of Joe Gagnepain as he sculpted an ice block into Santa Claus. The final destination of the parade was on Main Street where the city’s holiday tree was lit by the mayor. Once again, the fully decorated holiday tree and installation was a gift to the community from Kramer Tree Specialists of West Chicago.

Check out the tree in downtown West Chicago and leave your comments here! Enjoy and Happy Holidays to you and your family and friends!

It’s that time of the year again, time to start thinking about your Holiday Lights plan! As the days grow shorter and the nights get cooler, we are getting closer and closer to the Holiday season!

Here are couple fun facts about the Holiday season:

- From 1887-1933 a fishing schooner called the “Christmas Ship” would tie up at the Clark Street Bridge in Chicago and sell spruce trees from Michigan to Chicagoans.

- The tradition of an official Chicago Christmas tree was initiated in 1913 when one was first lit by Mayor Carter H. Harrison in Grant Park.

It was another great success at this year’s TCI Expo in Hartford, Connecticut. Despite the snow and power outages throughout the State of Connecticut, the Expo went on and had a great attendance. The TCI Expo is an annual event put on by the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) and it displays all of the latest products to the tree care industry. This Expo also provides a venue for all TCIA Accredited tree care companies to congregate and share ideas and practices in order to continue the advancement of the tree care industry.

As a TCIA Accredited company ourselves, we adhere to industry standards for quality and safety, maintain trained and professional staff, and dedicate ourselves to ethics and quality in our day to day business practices.

Our very own, Todd Kramer, was a speaker at the Expo presenting topics on Crane Removal Safety and Rigging Forces. Todd also conducted training at the demonstration tree on the main tradeshow floor, providing live training regarding rigging forces and how they can be used to safely remove a tree.

To learn more tree removals and rigging forces, check out an article Todd wrote for the November 2011 Volume of the TCI Magazine, entitled “Managing Rigging Forces”.
