I used my own reflection studio material on sky and a 3-point light setup similar
to Alessandro Baldasseroni´s Hunter where there is 2 rectangle lights are on front and rim light on back/side.

This is announcement for upcoming Meltinglight tutorials
archive. Original tutorial files are made by Chris Hollins
who is a senior artist from UK and was Cinema 4D user who
decided to move into traditional art.

Chris Hollins made a huge effort for Cinema 4D tutorials
but has now retired and he is art painter. His website was
active some years ago but has now gone.

I sent a kind request of his tutorial and got few gigabytes
of his old Cinema 4D tutorials from r8, r9 and
up to release 10 on a DVD-rom with a written permission
to use them as I wish. The tutorials will be released and shared as free public
domain files and can be freely linked and downloaded from my website and blog.

There are propably few downloads already from filesharing sites
already but I think it´s better to share the website archive
on this blog because there are many Cinema 4D users out there already.
Tutorials might be technically outdated but I found them
a good inspirational source for my own Cinema 4D projects.
There is never too much free information for basic workflows out there.
Many of the tutorials have technical information of character rigging
and setting up Xpresso and many good keyframing and animation examples
of different characters. Techniques of mechanical and human character
rigging are very thorough not to forget of cloth and hair setups.

I am middle of setting up an archived version of the original
website of meltinglight.com and all of its files that are hosted mainly here in
Kraphik 3D and some older files of release 8 in my Dropbox.
The process will still take some time and I
will notice when the archive is live with all the working
links so keep your eyes following this blog!

Congratulations to all winners!
I took a part in Mech modelling challenge. I did not win but
at least I got an honorable mention with my contribution.
It was a fun challenge and I learned some more of
surface modeling skills.
I am quite happy with my complete solid and realistic looking mech model.
There´s also a 360-degree turntable animation which I made later on after the challenge.
I will post it later on my youtube channel.
