Time spent watching video has increased for the average American to nearly five hours per month.  Over 67% of internet users watch online video now.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;According to &lt;a href="http://www.smsmallbiz.com/marketing/A_Hot_Affordable_New_Advertising_Opportunity.html"&gt;Entrepreneur &lt;/a&gt;in the last quarter of 2008, &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;"young people began spending more time watching online video content than watching television."&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As an advertiser this means now is the time to jump into online video advertising.  You can do it on your own web site, or by buying ads in other videos.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As a web site owner this means now is the time to integrate online video into your design.  Develop video content that can integrate advertising.  Sure there's the tried and true pre-roll ad where an ad plays before the selected video, but as a user we find this annoying. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A better idea is to integrate the advertising into the video itself, similar to product placements in TV and movies. The paper had been the paper of record for broadcasters since I can remember.  The news must have been even more shocking to those talented folks on the inside who presumably were blindsided with the news.  Some of whom must have been working in the accounting department... Because what shows up in our mailbox today?  None other than a renewal invoice for the now defunct R&amp;amp;R. It's use is so over done, this blog actually tracked the &lt;a href="http://www.hometracked.com/2008/02/05/auto-tune-abuse-in-pop-music-10-examples/"&gt;Top 10 worst examples of Auto Tune abuse&lt;/a&gt;.  This list includes Dixie Chicks, Avril Lavigne, Uncle Kracker, Rascal Flatts, and more.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;PBS Science is a doing a story on Auto Tune, showing how it works, why it works, and even more fun the host of the show will do some incredibly out of tune singing that Auto Tune will attempt to straighten out. Will it get the job done? The 24 year old ad agency filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January.  RBW's roster of clients included BB&amp;amp;T, Biscuitville, Cort, &amp;amp; Dollar Tree. We will see our friends, family, perhaps even ourselves be hit with heavy burdens, and we will survive to forget it, living to panic another day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Computer scientist Alan Kay once said: “The best way to predict the future is to invent it.”  So I’m stubbornly refusing to be grim about 2009, and instead looking forward to what I think will be it’s bright spots.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Customer Service. When businesses fold, competition increases.  And those last few will do anything to keep going—even offering—gulp—customer service!  Keep an eye out, it’s happening in 2009!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Online Video.  This new media channel will continue it’s move to the forefront, offering new opportunities for creative talents.  One such opportunity for radio to explore is turning their audio only promos, into video promos, or video imaging.  How much bigger would your spring promotion seem if it came with it’s own video?  Let your audience turn this video, and your promotion into a viral phenomenon.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Internet Radio.  This is the year that internet radio may finally go from a cool concept to a successful platform.  Deloitte &amp; Touche says “In 2009, internet radio may not just reinvigorate the medium of radio.  It may reinvent it.”  This means increased opportunities for voice talents, imaging pros, and on air staff.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Outsourcing.   Once confined to customer service hotlines, outsourcing is big and getting bigger.  Hospitals already outsource radiology duties to Indian docs, and smart broadcasters will look to do the same.  In small markets creative imaging departments have already been outsourced to creative teams with greater capacities and resources than ever existed in the small markets.  Large markets will experience this same  push upward first as a means to save cost, but ultimately as an outlet for better creative writers, voice artists, and producers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Leadership Opportunities.  Great expectations are being placed not only on the incoming administration, but on you.  Those of us left to clean up the mess will be relied upon heavily.  This is your chance to shine, and show leadership.  In times of stress things that never would have been possible ($1 Trillion Stimulus Package) become possible.  For you this will mean more responsibility, but also more chances to show how valuable you are to the team.  Be a leader of ideas, and effort – This year it will get noticed more than ever.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Opportunities will abound in 2009 to excel in your career.  Granted these may be on entirely different paths than you have pondered before. (read the full story &lt;a href="http://adage.com/article?article_id=133909"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;&lt;blockquote&gt;"Miller High Life is all about high quality and great value, so it wouldn't make sense for this brand to pay $3 million for a 30-second ad," &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- High Life Senior Brand Manager Kevin Oglesby&lt;/blockquote&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Miller's plan is to run dozens of one second ads during the pregame show and on local NBC affiliates.   These one second TV ads produced by &lt;a href="http://www.saatchiny.com/local/home.asp"&gt;Saatchi &amp; Saatchi&lt;/a&gt; are similar in length to what Clear Channel Radio calls "blinks".  The ads feature Miller's delivery driver mascot making hilarious exclamations.
