Im Prinzip ist es mir egal, wen ihr wählt - Hauptsache ihr wählt die Partei aus, mit der ihr euch am meisten identifizieren könnt, und nicht weil Oma, Opa, Eltern und der Nachbar die SPD/CDU ja auch schon immer gewählt haben. Wir haben schließlich kein Nur-Zwei-Parteien-System...
Macht diese Wahlen zu den Wahlen der kleinen Parteien, was man bekommt wenn man die CDU/SPD wählt, haben wir in den vergangenen 4 Jahren gesehen. Also am besten das Kreuz bei Die Piratenpartei machen, für ein freies + sicheres Internet. ;-)

Fake your geolocation in Firefox 3.5

There are many reasons why you would want to fake your location in firefox. One good reason would be "un-faking" your location on computers with no wlan cards, e.g. at work, or where there's no data available for the WLANs around you. All you need for faking is a text file (eg. /home/username/.mynewlocation.txt) somewhere on your computer with the following content:

The path in Firefox to this file is:
file://home/username/.mynewlocation.txt

Type about:config in your location bar, confirm the warning, search for geo.wifi.url, and replace the old url (https://www.google.com/loc/json) with your new one from above. Restart firefox, enjoy your new location :-)

Explanation:
latitude/longitude => the location you want to have, go to google maps, select location, click on "Link" and use the values from the ll= parameter
accurancy => the accurancy you want to announce, in meters.

Openstreetmap + geolocation in Firefox 3.5

This is just a quick JS example of connecting Openstreetmap, through Cloudmade, with the new geolocation in Firefox 3.5. Now all I need is a great idea how to make something much more useful out of these two :-)

Klimawandel nur Schwindel? Sogenannte Klimaskeptiker und ihr "Klimalüge!"-Geschrei

In letzter Zeit sprießt die Propaganda-Blume der Anti-Klimaschutz-Lobby wieder! Öl-Konzern-hörige Vereine und Organisationen wie EIKE und Cfact (beide von Leuten angeführt, die sehr aktive CDU-Mitglieder sind), investieren Tag für Tag viel Zeit und Geld, um ihren skeptischen Mitbürgern in Sachen Klimawandel ein Gefühl der Bestätigung zu geben:

"Fahren Sie ruhig weiterhin mit ihrer Spritschleuder. Klimawandel? Alles gelogen und erfunden! Dürren, Überschwemmungen, Hurricans durch die globale Erwärmung? Alles natürliche Prozesse, an denen der Mensch nicht Schuld ist. Alles Hysterie! Machen Sie sich lieber eine Zigarre an...oder, ach wissen Sie was? Machen Sie sich ein warmes Feuerchen im Garten!"

Es scheint also ein guter Zeitpunkt zu sein, um vor den wichtigen Europawahlen und natürlich der Bundestagswahl Halb- und Unwahrheiten sowie grundfalsche Fakten über den Klimawandel unter das Volk zu mischen, das ohnehin überfordert ist mit dem Alltag - und dann auch noch Energie sparen? Öko-Strom beziehen? Hybrid-Auto kaufen? Das ist alles so anstrengend! Dann google ich lieber nach "Klimalüge" und lese mir mein Gewissen rein!

Genau so läuft es doch ab. Und was liest man auf EIKE, Cfact, Klimaskeptiker.info und anderen Käse-Seiten von "Fossil fuel"-Lobbyisten, Möchte-Gern-Klimatologen und paranoiden Verschwörungstheoretikern? = Gut anzuschauende, seriös wirkende Beiträge, die mit viel Aufwand logisch klingende Argumente präsentieren - die aber nichts mit der Wahrheit zu tun haben ...

Wer sich aber ein bisschen mit der Klimawandelmaterie auskennt und die Spitzenforschung sowie aktuellste Studien der Top-Klimatologen verfolgt, merkt gleich, wie der Hase bei diesen sich selbst so nennenden "Klimaskeptikern" läuft. Hier wird tief in die Trickkiste gegriffen: zum Beispiel reihen sich aus dem Zusammenhang gerissene Zitate aus seriösen Quellen mit überholten Fakten aus den Erdkunde- und Chemiebüchern der 70er Jahre aneinander. "Wissenschaftler", die in diesen Beiträgen auf EIKE und Cfact zu Wort kommen, sind in der Regel politisch oder religiös oder ökonomisch motivierte Personen, die sich mit ihren Titeln schmücken, aber nichts - rein gar nichts - wissenschaftlich Objektives von sich geben, geschweige denn in Fachkreisen ernst genommen werden. Wo es nur geht, werden bruchstückhaft die NASA, irgendwelche Institute oder der Weltklimarat selbst zitiert, nur um dem Leser glaubhaft zu machen, dass "der von Menschen verursachte Klimawandel" gar nicht stattfindet oder eben ein natürlicher Prozess ist. Klingt ja ohnehin viel plausibler, oder? o_O

Für den Laien schon. Und das ist das große Problem. Diese Leute von EIKE und Cfact liefern leicht verständliche Halb- und Unwahrheiten. Und deshalb sind sie ernst zu nehmen. Garantiert nicht deshalb, weil sie irgendetwas Konstruktives zur wissenschaftlichen Untersuchung unseres Klimas beitragen würden - das Gegenteil ist der Fall. Sie verwirren Tatsachen, entstellen den aktuellen Stand der Wissenschaft zum Klimawandel und verbreiten ihre bequemen Botschaften von "Klimahysterie" und "Klimalüge" - auch gerne über Bücher, mit denen man auch noch sehr gut Geld machen kann!

Es ist geradezu frustrierend mit welcher Konsequenz diese Leute die Wahrheit verschleiern...die von allen relevanten Wissenschaftlern in der Klimatologie bestätigte Wahrheit über die Globale Erwärmung, nämlich dass wir, 6.700.000.000 Menschen, auf diesem paar Tausend Kilometer Umfang großen Planeten namens Erde inzwischen so viel Abgase durch die millionenfachen Verbrennungsprozesse, die jede Sekunde von uns direkt und indirekt irgendwo auf der Welt produziert werden, ausstoßen, und dass der Planet sich wie ein Treibhaus künstlich aufheizt und damit unkontrollierbare Klimaveränderungen (ja, auch hier und da temporäre, regionale Abkühlungen, aber vor allem eine enorme Erwärmung) ausgelöst werden.

Natürlich ist das für einen Laien, dessen Horizont an der Wohnzimmertür endet, nicht so einfach zu begreifen. Und natürlich geht die Welt nicht unter, weil Hans Mustermann mit einem spritfressenden Porsche unterwegs ist, aber man muss sich im Klaren sein, was alle Menschen (vor allem in der entwickelten Ersten Welt) in der Summe an Abgasen in unzähligen Industrieanlagen, Müllverbrennungsanlagen, auf Autobahnen, in Städten, den Kraftwerken, etc., etc. pp. produzieren und in die Bio- und Atmosphäre entlassen.

All das wollen Konzerne und ihre Freunde, die ökonomisch an der Reduzierung der erwähnten Verbrennungsprozesse verlieren würden, gerne verschleiern. Gleichzeitig gibt es viele Otto-Normal-Bürger, die unbequemen Veränderungen grundsätzlich skeptisch gegenüber stehen und deshalb sich "ihre Welt zurechtdenken", damit es passt. Also wollen sie an so etwas wie eine "Klimalüge" glauben.

Und wo es eine Nachfrage nach Informationen gibt, dort gibt es ein Angebot - gerade in Zeiten von Internet und Web 2.0 - auch wenn diese Informationen falsch sind. Lügen im Internet ist nicht strafbar, selbst wenn es wie im Fall der Anti-Klimaschutz-Lobby große Mengen an Rezeptoren findet, die sehr bereitwillig und zufrieden diese Lügen konsumieren und sich entspannt zurücklehnen und ausrufen "Hab ich's doch gewusst! Dieser blöde Klimawahn ist doch alles ein Schwindel!"

Switching tabs in Safari 4 with shortcuts, just like in Firefox

As a heavy-user of Firefox, the biggest annoyance in Safari for me was the missing shortcuts for directly accessing tabs. In Firefox you can access the tabs by pressing Cmd+<number of tab>. For example, if you want to jump to your third tab you would press Cmd + 3 (⌘ + 3), however in Safari this loads the third bookmark from the bookmark toolbar - very annoying if you are used to a different behavior.

Luckily there is a way to change this behavior and make Safari (4, not sure about 3) behave like Firefox with the help of this innocent looking piece of AppleScript:

Simple, isn't it? Now, all we need to do is to figure out how to combine this script with the shortcuts. Thankfully there's a small and free application called FastScripts Lite (hidden on the bottom of that page), it's limited to ten shortcuts, but all we want are nine (since Cmd + 0 is assigned to a somewhat useful "Actual Size" function), so it's perfect. If you need more shortcuts, you can purchase the full version.

Let's review that AppleScript above to ignore any errors caused by non-existing tabs:

Open Script Editor and create nine files from 1-9 in ~/Library/Scripts/Applications/Safari, let's call them Tab1.scpt to Tab9.scpt and paste in each file the script from above, changing the 3 at the end of the long line to the current number. I have prepared a Zip with all nine files (SafariTabs.zip), so you don't need to do this by yourself. Simply extract this file in ~/Library/Scripts/Applications/.

Next, launch FastScripts, click on the icon in the toolbar at the top of the screen and go to FastScripts->Preferences:

1. We want FastScripts to start when we log in.

2. Assign Cmd+1 - Cmd+9 (or any other combinations) to the proper Tab-scripts

Go back to Safari, and see the magic at work!

Watt et für Leute jibbt! Dummheit oder Frust? [Alert: RANT!]

In Aachen und Umgebung würde man "Watt et für Leute jibbt!" oder so ähnlich ausrufen, wenn man Menschen begegnet, die dumme Sachen machen. Oder man schüttelt einfach nur mit dem Kopf, runzelt die Stirn oder fragt sich einfach nur "Warum?"

Worum geht's? Eigentlich um die simpelsten Dinge, die das Zusammenleben in einer Gesellschaft erleichtern bzw. das Funktionieren dieser Gesellschaft erst ermöglichen oder eben nicht. Ist alles nicht neu, aber heute ist mir einfach nur nach RANT!

1. Kaugummi auf die Straße spucken:
Welche hirnlosen Geister machen sowas? Hat von diesen Menschen noch nie jemand einen Kaugummi am Schuh kleben gehabt? Können die ihren gottverdammten Kaugummi nicht in einem Mülleimer entsorgen oder wenigstens in ein Stückchen Papier, Taschentuch oder einen alten Einkaufszettel knüllen bevor sie diesen von sich werfen?

"Kaugummi auf die Straße spucken" machen aber nicht nur die berüchtigten pubertierenden Kinder, sondern auch "Erwachsene" (oder zumindest so bezeichnete Wesen). Die Ursachen für dieses Verhalten sind nicht zwangsläufig schlechte Erziehung. Natürlich sind gute Eltern, Lehrer und Erzieher entscheidend. Aber oft ist es entweder Dummheit oder Böswilligkeit auf Seiten des Kaugummi kauenden Menschen.
Wer seine Birne einschaltet, muss doch darauf kommen, dass alte Kaugummis auf dem Bürgersteig oder in der Fußgängerzone nicht nur scheiße aussehen, sondern enorm viel Geld kosten bei der Entfernung, was Steuergelder sind, die man letztlich selbst zahlt.
Böswilliges "Kaugummi auf die Straße spucken" passiert wohl dann, wenn ein allgemeiner Frust-Spiegel bereits aufgebaut ist oder man selbst schon mal in einen Kaugummi getreten ist und nach dem UGAH-UGAH-Prinzip der Steinzeit oder des Alten Testaments (Zahn um Zahn, Aug' um Aug') handelt - wie irgendjemand mir so ich ihm zurück. Bescheuert, aber psychologisch erklärbar.

2. Müll nicht richtig trennen:
Ja, ich weiß. Es gibt hin und wieder ein paar Berichte darüber, dass die Mülltrennung in Deutschland nicht wirklich sinnvoll ist, weil die Abfallwirtschaft ohnehin alles verbrennt oder zusammen auf einen Haufen kippt. Wo und in welchem Ausmaß das wirklich der Fall ist, sei mal dahingestellt.

Dennoch ist es schwer nachvollziehbar, warum einer unserer lustigen Nachbarn konsequent seit Monaten seinen "Gelben Sack" mit alten Taschentüchern, Putzlappen, Bananenschalen und sonstigen Dingen, die nicht dort rein gehören, befüllt UND diesen Sack dann je nach gusto auf die Straße vor das Wohngebäude stellt, egal ob diese Gelben Säcke demnächst abgeholt werden oder nicht. Im Sommer war es so, dass einer dieser Säcke tatsächlich 13 Tage vor dem Haus lag und dementsprechend stank und jedermann, der das Gebäude verlassen oder betreten wollte, an diesem stinkenden Sack vorbei musste, AUCH diese Leuchte von Nachbar, die dafür verantwortlich war und immernoch ist.

Es ist doch nicht so schwer, sich zu merken, wann die Gelben Säcke abgeholt werden und in welchen Abständen. Viel intelligenter wäre es natürlich sich den kostenlosen Kalender der örtlichen Abfallwirtschaft zu bestellen, aber so viel traut man den Leuten heutzutage ohnehin nicht mehr zu.

Warum macht der das also? Dummheit? Er läuft doch auch an diesem stinkenden Teil vorbei. Und in der gesamten Straße, wo wir wohnen, ist nicht eine einzige auch nur annähernd so hochintelligente Persönlichkeit, denn weit und breit steht niemals ein Gelber Sack zur falschen Zeit am falschen Ort, NUR vor unserem gottverdammten vierstöckigen Haus.

Fazit:

Man muss ja nicht gleich Immanuel Kant lesen, um zu begreifen, dass eine Gesellschaft nur dann stressfrei funktioniert, wenn sich alle an gewisse Regeln halten, die wirklich nicht so kompliziert sind und auch keine großen Nachteile mit sich bringen. (Im Übrigen ist Kant in dem hier erwähnten Zusammenhang eine Lektüre sehr viel wert.)

Aber es ist doch auch ohne Kant gelesen zu haben logisch, dass man sich als Teil einer Gesellschaft, vor allem einer städtischen Gesellschaft, immer fragen sollte: "Was wäre eigentlich, wenn sich alle so verhalten würden, wie ich?" Also im oberen Fall: "Was wäre eigentlich, wenn ALLE 80 Millionen Deutsche Kaugummi kauen und ihn auf die Straße spucken würden?" Oder: "Was wäre, wenn ALLE 80 Millionen Deutsche ihren Gelben Sack nicht nur falsch befüllen, sondern auch noch zu JEDER ZEIT auf die Straße stellen würden?"

"Und warum sollten sie das nicht tun?" "Was trage ich in die Gesellschaft an Emotionen hinein, wenn ich dieses und jenes tue?" "Was für ein Recht habe ich eigentlich, mich so asozial zu verhalten und nicht nur Ärger in die Welt zu tragen?"

Ja, ja. Ich weiß. Ich bin ein gekränkter Utopist, der glaubt, er könne an der Asozialität des Menschen etwas durch Blog-Einträge verändern. Nein, das glaube ich nicht. Ich glaube nur, dass ich ein bisschen RANT auch verteilen darf. Und wenn es nichts wirklich bringt, hat es eventuell für den einen oder anderen Schmunzler beim Leser gesorgt.

Fisch-Vegetarier aufgepasst: Fische fühlen Schmerz wie Schwein, Rind oder Mensch

Die so genannten Pesci-Vegetarier (auch Pescetaristen) essen keine Tiere - bis auf Fisch. Das eigentliche Credo des Vegetarismus - "Iss kein Lebensmittel, das das Töten von Tieren voraussetzt" - ist damit ohnehin hinfällig. Ich gehöre selbst zu den Pesci-Vegetariern, die regelmäßig in Erklärungsnot geraten, warum sie eigentlich keine Tiere essen, aber eben Fisch.

Die Argumentation ist oft eine sehr individuelle. Die Einen argumentieren rein auf der gesundheitlichen Schiene, dass Fisch eben das einzige Tier ist, das im Vergleich als tierisches Nahrungsmittel einigermaßen gesund ist. Andere wiederum argumentieren, dass sie das Töten von Tieren ablehnen, die Schmerz fühlen, echte Todesangst haben und damit in ihrem Verhalten dem Menschen sehr ähnlich auf Gewalt und Verletzung reagieren.

Letztere Gruppe von Fisch-Vegetariern wird aber nun durch eine neue Studie zu Schmerzempfinden und Schmerzverarbeitung von Fischen in argumentative Schwierigkeiten gebracht. Bisher war die landläufige Meinung, dass gerade Fische nur natürliche Reflexe des "sich Wehrens" aufzeigen bevor sie in den Netzen oder am Angelhaken verenden. Forscher von der amerikanischen Purdue University haben bei einem überzeugenden Experiment mit Goldfischen, die Hitze ausgesetzt wurden, herausgefunden: Fische fühlen und verarbeiten Schmerzen - und das sogar ziemlich ähnlich zum Menschen, nur sie schreien natürlich nicht und fangen auch nicht an zu weinen. Aber die Emotionen und die Folgen dieser Emotionen seien nahezu identisch, so die Forscher:

"The experiment shows that fish do not only respond to painful stimuli with reflexes, but change their behavior also after the event."

Nun verweisen die Forscher darauf, dass man die "humane Behandlung" von Fischen, sowohl im Forschungslabor als auch beim Schlachten, ähnlich wie bei anderen Tierarten festschreiben sollte, in einer Art Kodex. Das ist natürlich eine logische Schlussfolgerung. Denn warum sollte man Fische "unmenschlicher" behandeln dürfen als Rinder und Schweine, wenn nunmehr klar gestellt wurde, dass Fische ziemlich gleiche Todesangst haben, und genauso Schmerz empfinden wie Säugetiere?

Ein wenig Bange wird mir schon. Denn was ist eigentlich, wenn bald herausgefunden wird, dass Mücken ebenso Schmerz empfinden wie wir Menschen? Ich hab immer panische Angst, gestochen zu werden und ziehe den Mücken-Mord vor. Unter uns, eigentlich eine groteske Diskussion, aber andererseits nur logisch, dass man alt eingespieltes menschliches Verhalten in Frage stellt und im Lichte neuer wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnisse neu bewertet.

Klimaschutz kann sooo gut aussehen!

Der amerikanische Elektroautobauer Tesla Motors, der derzeit mit dem in Kleinserie produzierten Tesla Roadster für Aufsehen sorgt, präsentierte diese Woche der Weltöffentlichkeit den großen Bruder des Roadsters: den Tesla Model S Sedan.

Dieser traumhaft schöne Fünftürer, der in etwa so groß wie die Mercedes-Benz S-Klasse ist, fährt mit Strom aus der Haushaltssteckdose, ist in 45 Minuten voll aufgeladen, hat eine Reichweite eines normalen Benziners, beschleunigt von 0 auf 100 km/h so schnell wie ein Porsche Panamera und wird weniger als die Hälfte (!) kosten als dieser neue „Familien-Porsche".

Besonders interessant: Auf einer dritten Sitzbank können zwei Kinder bequem Platz nehmen, so dass der Tesla insgesamt 7 Personen Platz bietet und damit im Platzangebot so manchen Familien-Van schlägt. Zudem hat der Tesla Model S unter der Motorhaube einen riesigen Kofferraum, weil er ja keinen Verbrennungsmotor benötigt.

Darüberhinaus ist der Innenraum mit allerneuester Technik ausgestattet und bietet einen Komfort, der selbst deutsche Oberklassen-Schlitten alt aussehen lässt.

2011, also bereits in 2 Jahren, sollen die ersten Tesla Model S vom Band rollen - und das in Großserie! Vorbestellungen werden bereits angenommen, hier der Link.

Und so sieht der Traum vieler Familienväter in Bewegung aus, der Tesla ModelS, der bereits ab ca. 42.000 Euro zu haben sein wird:

Nach Angaben des Herstellers kostet eine "Tankfüllung" Strom für die Reichweite von etwa 450 Kilometer nur 5$ und damit nur ein Zehntel vergleichbarer Diesel oder Benziner; und das bei einem Anschaffungspreis, der unter den Preisen vergleichbarer Oberklassen-Fahrzeuge liegen wird. In Deutschland sind Elektrofahrzeuge wie der Tesla Model S zudem fünf Jahre lang von der KFZ-Steuer befreit.

Es ist wohl nicht zuviel gesagt, wenn man behauptet, dass der Tesla Model S eine neue Ära in der Automobilgeschichte einleiten wird. 100% umweltfreundlich, groß, gut aussehend, kostengünstig - der Tesla Model S. Ein grüner Autofahrertraum wird wahr...

Schuld am Amok - Eltern und Lehrer, nicht Killerspiele

Einen der meines Erachtens besten Kommentare zu den Ursachen von Amokläufen schrieb Claus Christian Malzahn auf Spiegel Online ( Was machen Ihre Kinder eigentlich gerade? ).

"Es geht nicht um eine neue Diktatur im Kinderzimmer, sondern um lebendiges Interesse. Reden. Spaß haben. Sich ernst nehmen. Füreinander da sein. Man nennt das auch Familie."

"Das größte Problem sind Eltern, die ihren Job nicht machen."

Malzahn hat völlig Recht. Wenn Kinder vormittags in der Schule mit pädagogisch und psychologisch schlecht ausgebildeten Lehrern zu tun haben und nachmittags auch noch mit Eltern, die sich menschlich nicht wirklich um ihre Kinder kümmern, dann ist das Grundrezept für menschliche Tragödien in diesem Land geschaffen. Es führt nicht immer gleich zum Amoklauf, denn dazu gehören noch andere Faktoren,...

...aber jeden Tag bringen sich in diesem Land Kinder und Jugendliche selbst um oder versuchen es. Das sind tägliche Tragödien, die nicht weit und breit in den Nachrichten laufen, aber mindestens genauso für Empörung sorgen sollten. Wer die Statistiken dazu nicht kennt, sollte sich auf Wikipedia mit Suizid und Suizid-Versuchen in Deutschland beschäftigen. Alle 4 Minuten versucht sich jemand das Leben zu nehmen in diesem Land. Das sollte mal im N24-Ticker laufen.

Das Problem ist, dass diejenigen, die von Natur aus eine starke Psyche haben, sich in diejenigen, die sie nicht haben, oft nicht hineinversetzen können oder es überhaupt nicht erst versuchen. Wenn die Starken die Schwachen zudem auch noch mobben und dauerhaft kränken und es überhaupt niemanden gibt, der die Schwachen menschlich ernst nimmt und sie fördert, gehen diese an ihren Problemen zu Grunde. Wir als Gesellschaft müssen uns bewusst werden, was wir uns selbst durch diese Ignoranz antun.

Unsere Ellbogen-Gesellschaft mit Eltern auf "Forever-Young"-Egotrips und sozial inkompetenten Lehrern, mit dauernd steigendem Erfolgsdruck, einer Übersexualisierung und der Normalisierung von Gewalt in den Medien muss zwangsläufig bei von Natur aus psychisch schwachen Kindern und Jugendlichen zu Depressionen, Störungen, erhöhter Gewaltbereitschaft oder Selbstmordgedanken führen.

Es fehlt an den Basics. Kinder brauchen echte Aufmerksamkeit und nicht bloß Taschengeld, Geschenke und hohle Versorgungsmentalität. Kinder brauchen Vertrauenspersonen, die vertrauenswürdig sind und sie ernst nehmen, ihnen einen konsequenten Lebensleitfaden anbieten, an denen sich die Kinder ausrichten können. Zu oft werden gekränkte Kinder weder getröstet noch motiviert. Das ist grundlegende Aufgabe von Eltern und Erziehern in Kindergärten und Schulen. Wenn diese Menschen ihre Aufgaben nicht erfüllen, ist das nicht "deren Sache", sondern die Sache der gesamten Gesellschaft - das geht uns alle an, nicht erst, wenn es nicht im Äußersten - einem Amoklauf - endet, sondern sehr viel früher.

Schulterzucken gegen Klimawandel: Wie selbst Warnungen vor katastrophalen Wechselwirkungen verpuffen

Herrlich, so ein Rosenmontag! Ob's schneit, ob's regnet, ob Kurzarbeit oder Arbeitslosigkeit, der Jeck' ist gut drauf, trinkt, tanzt, knutscht und drückt, singt und schreit den ganzen Tag. Irgendwie positiv, dass der Mensch auch in Krisenzeiten alles um sich herum vergessen kann, und einfach nur feiert. Ein Spaßverderber und Miesmacher, wer in solchen Tagen an die Vernunft appelliert.

Aber ein gutes Maß an Vernunft (auf gut deutsch: Schädel einschalten) ist eigentlich in jeder Lebenslage gut, selbst beim Feiern. Die vielen Alkoholvergiftungen, über die traditionell am Faschingsdienstagsabend in den Nachrichten berichtet wird, seien nur mal als Schlagwort erwähnt. Viel schlimmer als individuelle Unvernunft ist aber für uns alle die kollektive Unvernunft von Millionen Menschen, die wie in einem Standard-Alltags-Tunnelblick durch die Welt laufen und ignorant business-as-usual "leben".

Wie letzte Woche (mal wieder) durch die Medien geisterte, wird von den Menschen, die sich tagtäglich mit der globalen Erwärmung beschäftigen, eindringlich vor katastrophalen Wechselwirkungen des Klimawandels und den gravierenden Konsequenzen gewarnt (Link: Artikel Science Daily).

Das IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), also der Ausschuss der bedeutendsten Wissenschaftler der Welt auf dem Gebiet des Klimawandels, verweist vor allem auf die für unser Klima gefährlichen "feedback effects", d.h. die durch die vom Menschen verursachten Treibhausgasemissionen entstandenen zusätzlichen Emissionen von Treibhausgasen aus verbrennenden Tropenwäldern und aus aufgetauten Permafrostböden. Dadurch dass sich der Treibhauseffekt durch die Verbrennung von Kohle, Öl, Gas und Biomasse verstärkt und sich unsere Erde erwärmt, trocknen tropische und subtropische Gebiete zunehmend mehr aus und verlieren dadurch ihren natürlichen Feuerschutz. Großflächige Brände verursachen somit zusätzlich CO2-Emissionen, was wiederum zu mehr globaler Erwärmung führt, was dann wieder zu mehr Waldbränden führt. Ein Teufelskreis (Link: Artikel Telepolis).

Ähnliches passiert, wenn die riesigen Flächen der Permafrostböden, die ca. ein Viertel der planetaren Landfläche ausmachen, weiterhin durch die von uns verursachte Erwärmung tauen und damit sehr große Mengen an Methan und Kohlendioxid aus diesen Böden in unsere Atmosphäre (das Treibhaus) entweichen und es dadurch noch viel wärmer wird. (vgl. dazu beispielsweise "Eine klimatische Zeitbombe im hohen Norden", Link: Artikel Telepolis).

Klingt nicht neu? Ist es auch nicht. Diese Rückkopplungen sind theoretisch seit Jahrzehnten bekannt. Nur ist der Naturwissenschaftler von Natur aus konservativ, vorsichtig und streng empiristisch. Warnungen vor diesen Wechselwirkungen werden somit erst jetzt richtig konkret, weil sich erst jetzt die Anzahl der empirischen Studien zu diesen Teufelskreis-Phänomenen häufen.

Theoretische Skizze weiterer "feedback effects" aus meiner zusammenfassenden Arbeit zu "Global Warming and Dynamic Feedback Effects in Arctic Regions":
Die Wechselwirkungen sind höchstwahrscheinlich viel fataler als bislang angenommen, und genau in diesem Ton werden auch die jetzigen Warnungen ausgesprochen. Mojib Latif sagte erst vor wenigen Tagen in einer Vorlesung, die bei Phoenix ausgestrahlt wurde, dass es nach den neuesten Erkenntnissen aus der Forschung ziemlich sicher sei, dass eine globale Erwärmung von 6 Grad Celsius und mehr (!) bis zum Ende des Jahrhunderts, also binnen 90 Jahren, drohe, wenn sich beim weltweiten Klimaschutz nicht sehr schnell etwas ändere.

Was bedeuten 6 Grad Erwärmung eigentlich? Klingt nicht viel... Was diese Erhöhung der globalen DURCHSCHNITTSTEMPERATUR um 6 Grad für diesen Planeten bedeuten würden, zeigt folgender kurzer Beitrag von National Geographic, und National Geographic ist nicht gerade dafür bekannt sinnlos zu übertreiben:

Es wirkt geradezu grotesk, wie sich Medien, Politik und Gesellschaft trotz immer konkreteren Hinweisen auf die verheerenden Rückkopplungseffekte und damit einen sich beschleunigenden Klimawandel gegenseitig die Ohren und Augen zuhalten. Wollen wir einfach nicht wahrhaben, dass seit Jahrzehnten gewachsene Lebens- und Wirtschaftsweisen so verhängnisvoll sind? Oder ist die Lobby derer, die mit der Verbrennung von fossilen Brennstoffen direkt oder indirekt Geld verdienen bzw. mit dem Vertrieb oder Verbrauch billiger Energie sehr gute Geschäfte machen einfach so mächtig?

Fakt ist zumindest, dass etwas getan werden kann. Und das sofort. Es ist schon heute technisch möglich, ohne die massenhafte Verbrennung von fossilen Energieträgern normal weiterzuleben. Es ist nur teurer. Aber was ist Geld wert angesichts der Gefahren, auf die wir zusteuern, wenn wir mit den Schultern zucken und weiter machen, wie bisher?

Ein weltweiter, sofortiger Stopp des Baus von Kohlekraftwerken beispielsweise wäre ein erster Schritt in die richtige Richtung. Ebenso die weltweite Einführung einer echten CO2-Steuer, die den wahren, langfristigen Schaden des Treibhausgases in den Preis mit einbezieht.

Insgesamt ist es frustrierend, wie diese eindringlichen Warnungen der Wissenschaftler verpuffen. Schon eine Woche nach der Meldung ist fast nichts mehr zu hören und zu lesen über die Gefahren des "Weiter-so-wie-bisher". Vielleicht hilft ein etwas angepasster Weckruf an dieser Stelle: "Wacht auf, ihr Jecken!!!"

In diesem Sinne: "Klimaschutz...Ahoi! Klimaschutz...Helau! Klimaschutz....Alaaf!"

Enable IPv6 on Mac OS X, the tunnelbroker.net way

As a follow up to my earlier teredo howto, here i want to show you how to use the Tunnelbroker provided by Hurricane Electric on OS X 10.5, Leopard, behind a NAT Router that passes protocol41 (e.g. Fritz!box Fon WLAN 7170).

I did not want to make rocket-science out of this, so i did the easiest and simpliest possible way to achieve my goal, which means that it might not be the 100% correct way to do things. Also, it's not going in to details about IPv6, so if you are new to this topic, the tutorial may be a bit difficult for you.

How all this will work: Once you have finished this tutorial, you will have a Launchd script checking every 30 mins for IP changes, if your IP has changed, it will reset your IPv6 configuration. That means, in worst case, your IPv6 will be down for 30 minutes, but in best case you won't notice the script at all.

Step 1, Register with Hurricane Electric's tunnelbroker.net
Just go to http://tunnelbroker.net and get your free account.

Step 2, Create a new tunnel

Click on Create Regular Tunnel, and enter your current public IPv4 there (see You are viewing from IP: <that's your ip>)

Next, pick the closest location to you. You can also ping each of the IPs shown there and pick the fastest one, since - at least in Germany - the closest geographical location not always is the fastest one.

When you are finished, you will get your tunnel details displayed, which should be similar to the screenshot below. You will need some values from this screen and the account overview screen in the script in the next step.

Step 3, The IPv6 Script

This is the IPv6 script, it is documented inside, so follow the steps there and then come back here :-)

After adapting the values to your needs, you need to save it in the right place:
sudo vi /usr/local/bin/ipv6script
Paste your script, and save it with :wq

Make it executable by typing
sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/ipv6script

Step 4, Launchd

Now we need to create a LaunchDaemon in Launchd, to do so:

This will tell Launchd to execute the script on Login, all network changes and every 30 minutes, in case your router gets a new IP. If you are on static IPs, you can remove that timer, just delete these two lines from the file:

Finally you have to activate your Lauchd Agent by executing following:
sudo launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/net.pugio.myipv6script.plist

You should now be able to ping6 pugio.net - congratulations.

Bug hunting

Should something go wrong, execute the script by hand:
sudo /usr/local/bin/ipv6script

This should hopefully show you the error.

Sehr interessanter Brief von NASA-Klimatologen an Obama

Der NASA-Wissenschaftler James Hansen hat zusammen mit seiner Frau einen sehr eindringlichen Brief zum Thema "Verhinderung einer Klimakatastrophe" an Barack und Michelle Obama geschrieben, der bspw. beim Guardian einsehbar ist. Hier folgend eine Kopie davon:
(Kommentar+Kritik meinerseits: Der Brief zeigt die besorgniserregende Schere zwischen notwendigen Maßnahmen und aktuellen Maßnahmen gegen den Klimawandel und fordert zum Handeln auf. Hansen hat vollkommen Recht, dass Kohlekraftwerke so schnell wie möglich abgeschaltet und eine echte CO2-Steuer eingeführt werden müssen. Er unterschlägt in seinen Vorschlägen aber eindeutig die Potenziale der Erneuerbaren Energien wie Photovoltaik, Solarthermie, Wind, Biogas, Biomasse, etc. und fokussiert sich stattdessen auf den Ausbau und die weitere Erforschung von modernen Atomkraftwerken, die ohnehin - wie er selbst sagt - erst 2025-2030 zur Verfügung stehen werden. Es ist inzwischen erwiesen, dass gerade die großflächige Solarthermie oder auch dezentrale Photovoltaik-Anlagen den Strombedarf der gesamten Menschheit decken könnten - nur der politische Wille fehlt.)

The enclosure, "Tell Barack Obama the Truth - the Whole Truth" was sent to colleagues for comments as we left for a trip to Europe. Their main suggestion was to add a summary of the specific recommendations, preferably in a cover letter sent to both of you.

There is a profound disconnect between actions that policy circles are considering and what the science demands for preservation of the planet. A stark scientific conclusion, that we must reduce greenhouse gases below present amounts to preserve nature and humanity, has become clear to the relevant experts. The validity of this statement could be verified by the National Academy of Sciences, which can deliver prompt authoritative reports in response to a Presidential requesti. NAS was set up by President Lincoln for just such advisory purposes.

Science and policy cannot be divorced. It is still feasible to avert climate disasters, but only if policies are consistent with what science indicates to be required. Our three recommendations derive from the science, including logical inferences based on empirical information about the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of specific past policy approaches.

(1) Moratorium and phase-out of coal plants that do not capture and store CO2. This is the sine qua non for solving the climate problem. Coal emissions must be phased out rapidly. Yes, it is a great challenge, but one with enormous side benefits. Coal is responsible for as much atmospheric carbon dioxide as the other fossil fuels combined, and its reserves make coal even more important for the long run. Oil, the second greatest contributor to atmospheric carbon dioxide, is already substantially depleted, and it is impractical to capture carbon dioxide emitted by vehicles.

But if coal emissions are phased out promptly, a range of actions including improved agricultural and forestry practices could bring the level of atmospheric carbon dioxide back down, out of the dangerous range.

As an example of coal's impact consider this: continued construction of coal-fired power plants will raise atmospheric carbon dioxide to a level at least approaching 500 ppm (parts per million). At that level, a conservative estimate for the number of species that would be exterminated (committed to extinction) is one million. The proportionate contribution of a single power plant operating 50 years and burning ~100 rail cars of coal per day (100 tons of coal per rail car) would be about 400 species! Coal plants are factories of death. It is no wonder that young people (and some not so young) are beginning to block new construction.

(2) Rising price on carbon emissions via a "carbon tax and 100% dividend".
A rising price on carbon emissions is the essential underlying support needed to make all other climate policies work. For example, improved building codes are essential, but full enforcement at all construction and operations is impractical. A rising carbon price is the one practical way to obtain compliance with codes designed to increase energy efficiency.

A rising carbon price is essential to "decarbonize" the economy, i.e., to move the nation toward the era beyond fossil fuels. The most effective way to achieve this is a carbon tax (on oil, gas, and coal) at the well-head or port of entry. The tax will then appropriately affect all products and activities that use fossil fuels. The public's near-term, mid-term, and long-term lifestyle choices will be affected by knowledge that the carbon tax rate will be rising.

The public will support the tax if it is returned to them, equal shares on a per capita basis (half shares for children up to a maximum of two child-shares per family), deposited monthly in bank accounts. No large bureaucracy is needed. A person reducing his carbon footprint more than average makes money. A person with large cars and a big house will pay a tax much higher than the dividend. Not one cent goes to Washington. No lobbyists will be supported. Unlike cap-and-trade, no millionaires would be made at the expense of the public.

The tax will spur innovation as entrepreneurs compete to develop and market low-carbon and no-carbon energies and products. The dividend puts money in the pockets of consumers, stimulating the economy, and providing the public a means to purchase the products.

A carbon tax is honest, clear and effective. It will increase energy prices, but low and middle income people, especially, will find ways to reduce carbon emissions so as to come out ahead. The rate of infrastructure replacement, thus economic activity, can be modulated by how fast the carbon tax rate increases. Effects will permeate society. Food requiring lots of carbon emissions to produce and transport will become more expensive and vice versa, encouraging support of nearby farms as opposed to imports from half way around the world.

The carbon tax has social benefits. It is progressive. It is useful to those most in need in hard times, providing them an opportunity for larger dividend than tax. It will encourage illegal immigrants to become legal, thus to obtain the dividend, and it will discourage illegal immigration because everybody pays the tax, but only legal citizens collect the dividend.

"Cap and trade" generates special interests, lobbyists, and trading schemes, yielding non productive millionaires, all at public expense. The public is fed up with such business. Tax with 100% dividend, in contrast, would spur our economy, while aiding the disadvantaged, the climate, and our national security.

(3) Urgent R&D on 4th generation nuclear power with international cooperation.

Energy efficiency, renewable energies, and a "smart grid" deserve first priority in our effort to reduce carbon emissions. With a rising carbon price, renewable energy can perhaps handle all of our needs. However, most experts believe that making such presumption probably would leave us in 25 years with still a large contingent of coal-fired power plants worldwide. Such a result would be disastrous for the planet, humanity, and nature.

4th generation nuclear power (4th GNP) and coal-fired power plants with carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) at present are the best candidates to provide large baseload nearly carbon-free power (in case renewable energies cannot do the entire job). Predictable criticism of 4th GNP (and CCS) is: "it cannot be ready before 2030." However, the time needed could be much abbreviated with a Presidential initiative and Congressional support. Moreover, improved (3rd generation) light water reactors are available for near-term needs.

In our opinion, 4th GNPii deserves your strong support, because it has the potential to help solve past problems with nuclear power: nuclear waste, the need to mine for nuclear fuel, and release of radioactive materialiii. Potential proliferation of nuclear material will always demand vigilance, but that will be true in any case, and our safety is best secured if the United States is involved in the technologies and helps define standards.

Existing nuclear reactors use less than 1% of the energy in uranium, leaving more than 99% in long-lived nuclear waste. 4th GNP can "burn" that waste, leaving a small volume of waste with a half-life of decades rather than thousands of years. Thus 4th GNP could help solve the nuclear waste problem, which must be dealt with in any case. Because of this, a portion of the $25B that has been collected from utilities to deal with nuclear waste justifiably could be used to develop 4th generation reactors.

The principal issue with nuclear power, and other energy sources, is cost. Thus an R&D objective must be a modularized reactor design that is cost competitive with coal. Without such capability, it may be difficult to wean China and India from coal. But all developing countries have great incentives for clean energy and stable climate, and they will welcome technical cooperation aimed at rapid development of a reproducible safe nuclear reactor.

Potential for cooperation with developing countries is implied by interest South Korea has expressed in General Electric's design for a small scale 4th GNP reactor. I do not have the expertise to advocate any specific project, and there are alternative approaches for 4th GNP. I am only suggesting that the assertion that 4th GNP technology cannot be ready until 2030 is not necessarily valid. Indeed, with a Presidential directive for the Nuclear Regulator Commission to give priority to the review process, it is possible that a prototype reactor could be constructed rapidly in the United States.

CCS also deserves R&D support. There is no such thing as clean coal at this time, and it is doubtful that we will ever be able to fully eliminate emissions of mercury, other heavy metals, and radioactive material in the mining and burning of coal. However, because of the enormous number of dirty coal-fired power plants in existence, the abundance of the fuel, and the fact that CCS technology could be used at biofuel-fired power plants to draw down atmospheric carbon dioxide, the technology deserves strong R&D support.

Summary

An urgentiv geophysical fact has become clear. Burning all the fossil fuels will destroy the planet we know, Creation, the planet of stable climate in which civilization developed.
Of course it is unfair that everyone is looking to Barack to solve this problem (and other problems!), but they are. He alone has a fleeting opportunity to instigate fundamental change, and the ability to explain the need for it to the public.
Geophysical limits dictate the outline for what must be donev. Because of the long lifetime of carbon dioxide in the air, slowing the emissions cannot solve the problem. Instead a large part of the total fossil fuels must be left in the ground. In practice, that means coal.
The physics of the matter, together with empirical data, also define the need for a carbon tax.
Alternatives such as emission reduction targets, cap and trade, cap and dividend, do not work, as proven by honest efforts of the 'greenest' countries to comply with the Kyoto Protocol:

(1) Japan: accepted the strongest emission reduction targets, appropriately prides itself on having the most energy-efficient industry, and yet its use of coal has sharply increased, as have its total CO2 emissions. Japan offset its increases with purchases of credits through the clean development mechanism in China, intended to reduce emissions there, but Chinese emissions increased rapidly.

(2) Germany: subsidizes renewable energies heavily and accepts strong emission reduction targets, yet plans to build a large number of coal-fired power plants. They assert that they will have cap-and-trade, with a cap that reduces emissions by whatever amount is needed. But the physics tells us that if they continue to burn coal, no cap can solve the problem, because of the long carbon dioxide lifetime.

(3) Other cases are described on my Columbia University web site, e.g., Switzerland finances construction of coal plants, Sweden builds them, and Australia exports coal and sets atmospheric carbon dioxide goals so large as to guarantee destruction of much of the life on the planet.

Indeed, 'goals' and 'caps' on carbon emissions are practically worthless, if coal emissions continue, because of the exceedingly long lifetime of carbon dioxide in the air. Nobody realistically expects that the large readily available pools of oil and gas will be left in the, ground. Caps will not cause that to happen - caps only slow the rate at which the oil and gas are used. The only solution is to cut off the coal source (and unconventional fossil fuels).

Coal phase-out and transition to the post-fossil fuel era requires an increasing carbon price. A carbon tax at the wellhead or port of entry reduces all uses of a fuel. In contrast, a less comprehensive cap has the perverse effect of lowering the price of the fuel for other uses, undercutting clean energy sources.vi In contrast to the impracticality of all nations agreeing to caps, and the impossibility of enforcement, a carbon tax can readily be made near-global.

i. Given the brilliant scientists Barack has appointed to his team, is there need for a National Academy of Sciences meeting? Yes, his team surely would welcome not only clarification of the urgency of the climate situation, but also interdisciplinary (economics, engineering, physics, biology...) discussion and evaluation of policy options. Barack's first year or two in office is almost surely our last best chance to get the climate and energy strategy right in time to save the future of our children and grandchildren.

ii. I am not referring to the DOE's "Generation-4" nuclear program, which is a diffuse program that will not yield rapid payoff. Instead, as discussed below, there would need to be a Presidential directive to pursue a path(s) with the potential to contribute to decarbonization of global energy systems as rapidly as practical.

iii. 4th generation reactors can include automatic shutdown in case of an earthquake or other interruption. It is noteworthy that, even with the presence of poorly designed nuclear power plants in the past, and in some cases demonstrably sloppy operations, the waste from coal-fired power plants has done far more damage, and even spread more radioactive material around the world than all nuclear power plants combined, including Chernobyl.

iv. Urgency derives from the nearness of climate tipping points, beyond which climate dynamics will cause rapid changes out of humanity's control. Concern about such behavior derives not from theory or speculation, but from improving knowledge of how the Earth responded to past changes of atmospheric composition and from observations of ongoing changes.

Tipping points occur because of amplifying feedbacks. Feedbacks include loss of Arctic sea ice, melting glaciers and ice sheets, release of 'frozen' methane as tundra melts, and growth of vegetation on previously frozen land. The surface changes increase the amount of sunlight absorbed by Earth. Added methane reduces heat radiation to space, amplifying the warming effect of carbon dioxide produced by burning fossil fuels.

Analysis of Earth's history helps reveal the level of greenhouse gases needed to maintain a climate resembling the Holocene, Creation, the period of reasonably stable climate in which civilization developed.

That carbon dioxide level, unsurprisingly in retrospect, is less than the current 385 ppm (parts per million). The safe amount for the long-term is no more than 350 ppm, probably less. Pre-industrial carbon dioxide amount was 280 ppm. Precise definition of a safe range requires better knowledge of all climate forcing mechanisms. What is clear is that continuing fossil fuel emissions will put Earth on an inexorable course toward an icefree state, a course punctuated by increasingly extreme disasters with hundreds of millions of climate refugees.

A large fraction of species on Earth face certain extinction, if we burn most fossil fuels without capturing and storing the carbon dioxide. New species may come into being over many thousands of years, but all generations of our descendants that we can imagine will live on a far more desolate planet than the one we knew.

v. Total carbon in conventional fossil fuels (oil, gas, and coal), if released to the air, is enough to initiate a dynamic transition to an ice-free climate state, a transition that would be out of humanity's control. A large
fraction of the carbon dioxide emitted in burning fossil fuels stays in the air many centuries. Thus the climate problem cannot be solved by only slowing the rate at which we burn the fossil fuels.

Solution requires that a large part of total fossil fuels is left in the ground, or the carbon dioxide captured and stored. In addition, the unconventional fossil fuels (oil shale, tar sands, methane hydrates) must be left largely untouched or the carbon dioxide captured and stored.

vi. Now, with oil prices down, is when a hefty carbon tax should be added. In the future, when the price of gasoline again reaches and passes $4/gallon, most of this cost will be tax, staying in the country, spread among consumers, and driving our economy to a clean future. The public can understand this, if Barack explains it, and they will accept it, if there is 100% dividend.

vii A carbon tax requires agreement of only several major nations. If any given nation does not apply the tax, an equivalent duty can be applied to their products at ports of entry.

vii A Presidential directive for prompt investigation and proto-typing of advanced safe nuclear power is needed to cover the possibility that renewable energies cannot satisfy global energy needs. One of the greatest dangers the world faces is the possibility that a vocal minority of anti-nuclear activists could prevent phase-out of coal emissions.

The challenges today, including climate change, are great and urgent. Barack's leadership is essential to explain to the world what is needed. The public, young and old, recognize the difficulties and will support the actions needed for a fundamental change of direction.

今天可算是大日子啊。怎么样也要上来写几笔！
常言道：开门红啊开门红！误打误撞竟撞上了这个好日子！真不赖啊。
今晚可要开瓶红酒庆祝一下了！
乘时辰未过，先在这里庆祝一下！

来德国一周了，不算太无聊，虽然还没有开学。不习惯写流水帐，但是今天还是写上一笔吧。

第三天的时候去了Buergersbuero报了户口，要穿过Altstadt，在Rathaus那里很容易就找到了。在门口打了号码纸，一会儿就叫到我了。办事的是一个年轻的德国小伙子，很友好，没有多问我什么，很快就让我报户口了。至于之后我延签的注意事项他都提醒了我一遍，还把延签的表格和材料单都给了我。临走的时候还提醒我延签时一定要带好照片，没有照片的话在市中心都有很多地方可以拍的。呵呵，很亲切啊。

之后左拐右拐到了Deutsche Bank，跑到前台陈述了一下我的状况，因为我的开户地和现在的激活地不同。因为有点小懒，不高兴在Aachen办了，想就在自家这里办吧。前台的Frau不知道怎么办，就叫了一个女头头出来，后者把我带进了会议室，不到5分钟就把我的银行激活给办好了，还和我解释了Girokonto和Jungekonto的区别，告诉我一周后我就会拿到我的银行卡了。最后她站起来和我握手道别，还送我到了门口。

上周五去了Aachen。Ju几天前打电话来说要来看我，没想昨天她就兴致勃勃在下班后就开了2小时的车从Dinslake到了Aachen。一年不见当然很激动，左抱又右抱，当然贴面吻我还是很不习惯啦。一起去了Marktplatz喝了咖啡，那里的甜点很赞啊。一年多了她还是没有变，有时候我玩笑开过头了，她会故意放低声音叫我名字，然后哈哈大笑。一边哄我吃甜食，一边吓我说我会变成kugelrund的，然后马上说不不不，才不会呢，你不会胖的哦，别怕。弄得我哭笑不得。小妞还是那么的sparsam。很喜欢她。除了天时时下雨外，那天还是很开心的。Aachen的中心被我们兜了2圈。我想我下次要迷路就没有那么容易了。Aachen还是很赞的，最爱的城市。

周六去了飞利浦的家庭聚会，第一次看到这么多人。。Erbsensuppe不如Eschweiler的好吃，蛋糕还不错。参观了制作灯泡的过程，参与了有奖问答。飞利浦的GG都很耐心也很耐看啊，还有一个是亚洲面孔哦^^

之后驱车去了荷兰的宜家。一样心仪的东东被卖光了，只能买了其他。和两个工作人员讲德语，人家楞是没有反应或者就是反应慢半拍，我之后才反应过来，诶呀，这里是荷兰。那里离边境远了一些，所以当地人德文都不怎么样，听是没有问题，要讲就困难了。

The feeling of leaving is always complicated. That's why I did not post anything when I finally got my visa last week. I know that is a big deal, but it is not full of joy.

A time for leaving might never be joyful. I guess.

I left my working place yesterday. 6 months of working there leaves a lot of nice memories. Soulmates, good friends, some small parties, cute guys, the Lawson downstairs, cafe break, delicious delivery... Those are partly what I've been enjoying from there. I said goodbye to everyone and got some nice hugs from the ppl I truly like.

从明天开始我就要开始我的farewell parties。有些伤感，和几个朋友在电话里就聊了很久。有几个人要说给我个surprise，弄得我心痒痒，感动又期待。

飞机是在凌晨。有两个女友一定要送机。光光知道她们有这个心我就有要哭的感觉。我让我父母那天要送她们回家，都是不认识路的孩子。呵呵，我怕她们被大灰狼骗走了。

Gmail activity log and remote signout

Woohoo! Finally some useful update to Google Mail. No idea how long this feature was there, I just noticed it today: 1. usage log, 2. Signing out other sessions.
Sometimes one would forget to log out from gmail at work, so the remote signout feature is a godsend. Also the log is a convenient way to see if somebody (jealous partner?) is snooping your emails.

Yesterday I had my presentation of my bachelor paper in room 409. It went quite smoothly.

Hereby, I want to thank my tutor-- Herr Prof. Guo, who gave me constructive inspirations and suggestions for my work, who encouraged me all the way and who contributed so much time to his students. I also want to thank the lecturers/ professors, who attended my presentation with full patience and the interesting Q & A afterwards..

Possible fix for crashing apps on Leopard

It seems that under some unknown circumstances you will hose your iLife 8 installation so that Garageband, iPhoto, etc and other applications which depend on iLife like Mail.app, iChat.app, Google Notifier, Pages, etc will not lauch.

Mine probably stopped working after I installed Garageband from my Macbook's bundled software DVD, which I had not initially installed.
Symptoms: The app will bounce few times in the dock, close and you will get the following crash report (Example Crash Report for iPhoto, it's the same for all other apps):

Don't panic!
You need the "A" folder from a different Leopard installation with same level of updates as your machine or the proper ImageKit_tiger.pkg from somewhere. At the time of writing, the required folder has the following md5 on 10.5.2 with all security updates:

$ md5 /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/GraphicsAppSupport.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ImageKit.framework/Versions/A/ImageKit
1786a69b42c828414dbd4b191dce1d47

The version according to Resources/version.plist seems to be 1.0.1 and I have NO idea where to get it from if not from a second machine. The iLife 8.2 update on Apple's website has ImageKit with version 1.0! The 10.5.2 Combo Update does not have the required ImageKit at all. My guess would be that it came recently with one of the Standalone Updates, if you have no access to a second machine, try your luck with one of these. You will need Pacifist for browsing the packages. Should you succeed, please leave a comment here.

In any case, after copying the A folder back to it's place it is advisable to repair disk permissions with Disk Utility.

Possible other ways to fix this:

Check your Time Machine backup, if you are doing full backups, it may be there!
Reinstall everything and hate Apple forever

上海科技馆一日游

昨天去了科技馆, 玩了整整一天, 把所有项目都玩了个遍. 真是个值得推荐的去处啊!

先去参观的那个"生物万象"着实让我震撼了一下. 之后的热带雨林阿, 蝴蝶标本阿等都是很值得参观的. 蝙蝠洞的话, 胆小的还是不要去了, 我们进去了后, 朋友都抱怨手臂都被我掐紫了. 我胆小这有什么办法啦.

"地壳探秘"中的模拟地震的那一块蛮好玩的, 就是比较难找, 找到它需要经过一个黑黑的蛮恐怖的走道(我是蛮怕的反正). 在这个展厅还有很多漂亮的化石, 镇厅之宝就是那个有10万年历史的象牙了.

在"视听乐园"中, 我哭了. 说来还真是难为情, 因为还是"乐园"呢!! 我们去了哪个"全息音效"的地方, 等了几分钟后8个人进入了一个中世纪装饰的房间. 带上耳机之后, 等灯光熄灭, 我就开始害怕. 这还不是重点! 这时全息的音效就出来了, 我只听见一个男人的声音, 当我意识到这是一个鬼故事之后,就觉得耳边有呼气声, 还有剪刀的咔咔声, 我头皮就一下子毛了! 之后有人的走路声, 有尖叫声, 还有小孩子的笑声. 最最高潮的时候, 有人在摸我的耳朵和背!!!! 我当时就吓得哭了, 惊吓地脸上全是汗. 之后灯亮了, 忽闪忽暗, 地板也在摇... 最后又暗了, 又发生了蛮多. 但是我都不记得了. 因为吓得够呛! 出来之后, 看到朋友一脸抱歉+坏笑. 我就什么都明白了, 于是又气又无奈又感叹!!

二楼还有个展厅, 忘了叫什么了, 很好玩诶. 每个都值得驻足! 二楼还有个蜘蛛展, 不错的, 也值得推荐. 我还敲了很多图章回来, 跟孩子没什么差别了.

在三楼的"人体与健康"那里我花了30分钟了解了一下我自己. 真的很有趣. 但是如果很多人排队, 不建议大家去等. 一般一次只有1-2人测试, 没人30分钟, 你们自己算吧. 我是离闭馆的时候去的. 我测出来的结果蛮极端. 身高是偏高, 体重是偏轻(我这个还偏轻?? 看来我们的审美眼光已经是病态了.). 脂肪含量的测试结果大大出乎我的意料, 竟然不在正常范围内(在下限以下)??! 这个汗啊... 那我这一身晃荡晃荡的肉哪里来的? 难道是水做的? 之后所有的力量测试, 我都是比那"差"的那一栏还要差!! 所以说阿, 我的肉不是肌肉阿, 那也不是脂肪阿, 那是什么呢???! 谁能告诉我?? 相反, 柔韧性测试呢, 结果是比"最好"的那栏还好... 巨汗! 我真是够极端的.

总而言之, 虽然科技馆要价60大洋, 但是个人觉得还是值回票价的啦! 不过周末人多, 还是不要去吧, 我是周五去的, 所以玩得很爽. 照片也照了蛮多, 找个机会放到flickr. 现在不高兴弄, 我懒了.

当上海的气温上18度的时候，我那向往outing的心就开始耐不住寂寞了。无奈一周空余时间太少，所以一切远足的计划都被搁浅。
想去七宝老街吧，但是被google出的图片给吓震了，那个人山人海啊，何况又是周末。所以购物的计划也免了，估计也好不到哪去。这么好的天，我只想找个地方清静下。
世纪公园是个不错的地方，地大人少。人少主要还是因为进这个公园还要收取10元门票，连公司里的德国人都嚷着说贵，于是我想一定会少了很多各种级别的大妈大嫂。
于是进公园游荡了一下午。还是蛮喜欢这样的感觉的：走了好多路；摆弄摆弄相机，学学怎么利用光来拍照，拍了好多花花草草；第一次发现自己还是蛮上照的；玩了次碰碰车（大概5年多没有玩了）；还喂了点鱼；当然还吃了好多。心情大好！
这周午休时间，见了那位处于Urlaub中的容光焕发的朋友，从她那里拿到了可爱的鲜花，粉开心。于是屁颠屁颠地拿上楼，引来办公室的两个德国MM的无限羡慕。到孙博那里的时候，看到她大着肚子在临近下班时，还在电脑前勤奋地tippen，于是"一狠心"就把花转给她了。她像个小孩一样开心。呵呵。
最近还在练我那松松的肉肉，初有成效！休息的时候乘没人，还西格格地给我的朋友们show下手臂上的小肌肉。 :p
但是今天心情却如中国的股市，直线回落，而且一落无回啊。首先，碰到了Jp女，不是我Rp不好，而是我之前Rp太好，现在是还的时候。当我面对这样的要求时，我呆了5秒。我不知道如何回应，有一种beleidigt的感觉。但是脑子里冒出一句：识实务者为俊杰。于是就把这事笑笑得给解决了。但是事后想想自己太弱，有的时候遇到Jp女，还是应该来点硬的。我生来不爱与人脸红，但是现在看来不是个优点。
之后晚上写论文时，无意中丢了昨天的成果。心痛啊，捶胸顿足也于事无补。我吸取教训了！
明天我打算爬起来去科技馆，我的心情应该又要开始UP了！

Out of control: The Tibet issue

This is a trackback to Jinyu's blog post. Basically, all people need to calm down, sit back, and think what they are doing. A lot of manipulation is going on, in Tibet, in the West and in China. No exceptions. This should be a lesson for everybody to be careful with what the media is feeding us and be critical with any piece of information we see, hear or read instead of just accepting it as the only truth.

For all the Chinese blaming the West of being dumb, I think this case is exactly similar to the recent protests against Japan, where based on some rumors and minor reasons a lot of people went on the streets, demonstrated against japan and went so far as to burning japanese flags, throwing stones at the embassy and demolishing japanese restaurants. (Keep reading!) A minor group of individuals backed by the government managed to stir a huge unrest against Japan. Nobody in Japan or the World could understand what was going on. Before you start blaming the West, you have to sit back and try to understand them (us). They are stupid, they were told to do it, just like you are stupid were told to go on the streets to demonstrate, just like you were told to protest against Google Maps for including Taiwan or to mass flood CNNs online polls or even the poll for the "New 7-Wonders". Yes, we decide to do it, but based on sensationalistic stories which stand in no relationship to the reality. Blown out of proportion to get the desired reaction from the people. This process has even a name, it's called propaganda (with a good portion of nationalism), and going on everywhere in the world. Be careful. Yes, the Japan incident is far-fetched but i think it's a good support for my argument. You get my point hopefully.

Who's hurting whom

A "peaceful" protester in Paris is being hindered from taking the torch from a disabled torch bearer in a wheelchair.

Of course the timing for this bashing of China is inappropriate, since the Olympics should be a worldwide festival and a lot of Chinese people are very proud of have this opportunity. As a German, I am actually ashamed of the protests during the relay in Europe, because judging by the pictures, the people have shown their worst and most hateful side. If this is what democracy and freedom of speech makes you behave like, then i don't want any of this.

The protests don't hurt the Chinese government at all, instead they hurt the people of China, who have the least thing to say about their governments decisions. Imagine everybody protesting against Germanys co-invasion of Afganistan* during the last Soccer World Cup, how would the German people react after seeing all the demonstrations? How would they feel? Would they stand up against their Government and say, yes you are right, let's boycott the World Cup too!? (*Yeah, I'm missing a better example, but you hopefully get my point).

Actually, i will go further and say that the world wide protests actually benefit the Chinese government and hurt the West, as the support by Chinese citizens of it's government rises to new highs. Voices from people, often in the West described as "oppressed", rise that the government is not firm enough about the West and the Tibet issue. Good job on that. Even regime critics don't feel comfortable about the whole issue.¹

Diplomacy sacrificed

Is he Tibetan? Is he Chinese trying to discredit tibetan protestors? Is he tibetan pretending to be a chinese pretending to be a tibetan to discredit the chinese? Is he getting paid by somebody? (Proxied) Or is he just a crack head? I don't want to know.

Years of hard work and diplomacy are gone over a timeframe of few weeks. The West is willing to risk the next cold war for some flashy headlines and sensationalistic stories. Years of Chinas opening towards the West, which is comparable to the opening of the Berlin-Wall, are wasted over an issue on which we, the people, have no real information or the necessary background to understand it. The information fed to Westerners and the Chinese by it's media and government is highly opinionated. Focused on the sensational stories, each side picks the best cherries and feeds it to the people for the desired effect. The West feeding the unrest against China and China feeding the unrest against the West. A good chance of getting closer together having a peaceful dialog and solving the issue over some cold beers has been inevitably missed. This is where one also has top point the finger in the direction of the tibetan lobbyists* who put a go on the unrest and world wide demonstrations. (*Yes, I don't think that tibetan farmer X had enough time and motives to go to Lhasa and smash some windows and beat up some Chinese and Muslims. But yes, Chinas Tibet policy so far is a good example of what's wrong with this country.)

Who benefits from all this? Not us. Not the Tibetans, not the Chinese, not the common people anywhere in the world. A lot of politicians in Germany, who should know better, or should have kept quiet because foreign policy is not their business, try to profile them selfs as the saviors of freedom and democracy on TV. Politicans in other countries are trying the same. These people try to benefit from it. The media and the lobbyists also benefit from this, think of how great the media business is going right now thanks to sensationalistic stories.
Hate is a dangerous weapon and it is being mindlessly unleashed on both sides right now. I hope it does not get out of control.

Say what?
Before I get blamed for siding with the Chinese over the Tibet issue, I would like to make it clear that i am on nobody's side. The Tibet issue is a highly complex problem, not just black and white as portrayed in the West. We have to understand the situation before we make a judgement. I don't know about you, but we had probably 2 hours max of Asian history at high school, not a good background to make judgements.
Primarily this is Chinas domestic problem², it has been a problem together with other issues for centuries. I don't see any colonization going on, an often abused word by the Western media to describe this situation. One idiot-journalist went as far as calling China the biggest colonizer in the recent history. I guess that guy missed the invasion of Iraq, Afghanistan and of other countries - but i guess it's ok, because democracy is good, and whatever the Chinese have must be bad! Of course there is eligible critique of chinas foreign and domestic policy - but do we do everything perfectly?

Sit back and think about it.

I have been playing with Google's new web application service, which allows you to host your own projects on their servers. It's not bad, but I have some reservations about this service, especially regarding the privacy of the data. Also, currently there's a big collection of crapware on their Application Gallery including lame "We want PHP!" apps posted by some kids who can't be bothered to learn a new language. PHP is cool and all that, but i don't see how it suits to this particular service which is very much unlike anything else before.

Anyway, my hello world application is called Linkius and it's a simple bookmark manager suitable for quickly posting urls which you can then access through your mobile. This have been an itch for me for a while and is now scrached ☺

Glare-Type Displays: Marketing gone wrong

I always find it amusing to read about notebooks using Glare-Type displays. I mean, glare is nothing that would make me say: "Yay! That's what I'm looking for on my screen, here's my cash!". I guess that's why most companies got creative and started using some non-sense brand names like Clear SuperView or Toughened Optical Glass.

But, that's some sweet prices on these notebooks...

Jumpcut - Clipboard history for Mac OS X

The most used application on my Mac must be Jumpcut. It's a no frills clipboard extension which saves your last x clipboards, where x is a user defined value (mine's at 40). There are two interfaces to your clipboard history, one in the menu bar through a drop down menu and one pop-up activated through a hot-key.

By setting the hotkey to Command + Option + v, you can cycle through your history by holding Command + Option and pressing v repeatedly until you find what you are looking for. You can also use the arrow keys and numbers at this point.

Best of all: it's open source and free.

Was? Ist der Thomas völlig bescheuert? Wer ist überhaupt Peter? Viele Fragen die nach Antworten suchen!

Ist Thomas völlig bescheuert? :

Manchmal.. wenn man überlegt das ich mich die letzten 5? 4? Monate so um die 3 Tage in der Woche mich frustriert in den Bus gesetzt hab (der Schweine teuer ist) und gedacht hab.. wann ist das vorbei. Es war ja nicht die Laborarbeit sondern das fakt das theoretisch die ganze Zeit, die ich in das Projekt investiere quasi mehr oder weniger für die Katz ist. "Unwichtig!" sagt der Tutor.. "Es kommt nich darauf an wieviel sondern wie du das was du geschafft hast verpackst!" .. ja.
Da sitzt man dann.. Hat sich den Arsch aufgerissen um nicht als "Laboruntauglich" abgestempelt zu werden und bekommt gesagt dass man doch bitte weniger Zeit im Labor und mehr vor dem Schreibtisch verbringen soll.
Als ich meine Laborleitung auf das angegeben Zeit Limit von 15 bis max 20 stunden (16 ist der richtwert) für alle aspekte des Laborprojektes (Lesen, Schreiben, Experimentieren) aufmerksam gemacht habe sagte man mir das es nicht darauf ankommt wie lange ich da bin sondern wieviel ich dann schaffe. Ich könne ja 5 anstatt einem Experiment ansetzten (am besten mit 6 armen und drei gehirnen) Etwas unüberlegt hab ich mir dann gedacht. Die Frau schafft genauso viel wie ich in einer Stunde.. und macht rund 45 minuten länger Mittagspause. Ich wäre manchmal froh gewesen überhaupt ne pause zu haben.. Meistens im Bus mittags wenns in die Vorlesung um zwei uhr (!!!!) geht. Direkt im Nachmittagsloch damit mich nur der Kaffee wach hällt. Ich stelle mich vielleicht an aber manchmal entspricht der Alltag nicht meinen Vorstellungen eines Auslandsaufenthaltes......

Schön ist dabei das so manch anderer Student mir erzählt wie toll doch seine Zeit hier ist. Keine Klausuren! Nur Party und Erasmus zahlt sogar! Wow.

Aber ein gesundes Hirn ist doch besser als sich ins Delirium zu saufen... das wusste schon Van Gogh.. glaub ich ... oder?

Hier gehts zum Album!

Nach langer Zeit wieder ein update. Hab sehr viel zu tun und in meiner Freizeit nich viel lust daher läufts mit den updates nich so. Aber heute gehts wieder! Also in den letzten Wochen wars erstmal echt spannend. Neben jedem tag im labor oder in der vorlesung hab ich ja zwei Freizeitbeschäftigungen. Wandern und Kayak fahren :) Also zum Wandern. Ich war in den sonnigen Highlands und hab erstmal gemerkt das ich total unsportlich bin und zweitens dass dicke Klamotten nur gut sind wenn man rumsteht und sich besäuft. Ab in den Rucksack und tausend kilo zu schleppen! Ein dünnes Fleece hat gereicht bei der ganzen Bewegung. Und wenn mir nochmal einer sagt in Schottland is nur Regen und kalt dann zeig ich dem meine Fotos. Hier scheint jeden Tag die Sonne und man schwitzt sich den Arsch ab! Naja. Wandern war ganz schön aber irgendwie zeitaufwendig und nix für jedes Wochenende.
Wenn man doch die schöne Natur genießen möchte und dabei vom Adrenalin ein grinsen ins Gesicht gezaubert bekommen will dann empfehle ich Kayak. Man wird auch ganz schön nass und ein Ganzkörper-Muskelkater ist garantiert! Workout!
Das war echt super letztes Wochenende zwar nur ein paar Stündchen aber ne tolle Ablenkung vom Alltag. Gestern hab ich sogar ne Eskimorolle geschafft und nebenbei sogar die Nase mit Chlorwasser durchgespült. Da sind Nasensprays nix gegen.. mein schnupfen ist weg :)
In den nächsten 2-3 Wochen hab ich viel zu tun daher wahrscheinlich keine Fotos :( Danke fürs Lesen.

Hier gehts zum Album

Es schien die Sonne und es war wieder Zeit für einen Ausflug. :) St. Andrews.. Eine kleine Uni Stadt südlich von Dundee. Eigentlich dachte ich Es gäbe dort nur die Uni aber eigentlich ist St. Andrews eine kleine gemütliche Stadt in der so mancher gerne Leben würde, auch Reiche. Der Old Course mit Blick auf die See ist ein Golfplatz, scheinbar die Geburtsstätte des Golf und eine Runde kostet 110 Pfund. Bei der Menge an Spielern sind die Betreiber schon längst Multimillionäre.
Einen Katzensprung entfernt war ein recht schöner Strand. Weicher sand und die warme Sonne ließen mich den halben Tag dort rumhängen. Da ich meinen Reiseführer nicht da hatte machte es eh keinen Sinn durch die Stadt zu laufen.
Nach langem überlegen erinnerte ich mich daran, dass es hier irgendwo ne Ruine gibt, irgendwo am anderen Ende der Stadt. Nach 10 minuten war ich angekommen und froh doch etwas gesehen zu haben :) Schnell Fotos gemacht und ab zum Bus.. Bus fahren ist hier ganz toll. Ich überlege immer was passieren würde wenn der Bus in einer Kurve an Grip verliert.. Wahrscheinlich nichts weil man mit den Knien recht gut im Vordersitz verhakt ist und der Fahrkomfort auf einer Wiese würde sich kaum von den Strassen unterscheiden.
Angeblich kann man hier an der Küste recht gut Delphine beobachten.. mal sehen ob sich mal einer blicken lässt..
Morgen gehts hier auch mal los.. Offizielle Begrüßung und das übliche Besäufniss eine Woche lang.

Da bin ich mal gespannt!

Wir fahren ans Meer!
Ja das hab ich gemacht. Das schöne ist das man mit dem Zug an der Küste entlang fährt und sich schonmal freuen kann :) Mein Ziel? Arbroath. Ein kleines Fischerstädtchen östlich von Dundee.
Idealerweise liegt Arbroath am Ende des Firth of Tay und somit an der freien Nordsee. Bei Sonnenschein wehte nur ein kleines Windchen und einige Schotten ließen sich sogar zu einem Eis verführen. brr. Ein Double Chocolate Brownie mit Sahne und ne Tasse heißen Ostfriesentee wäre mir da lieber aber wann sieht der Schotte mal Sonne? Jeder nutzt die Gelegenheit wie er es mag. Ich war jedenfalls hungrig und hörte von den Arbroath Smokies. Räucherfisch der vor Arbroath gefangen und dann in süßen Hinterhöfshops geräuchert und verkauft wird. hhmm.. Die Luft hatte ein besonderes Aroma. Auf dahin. Ein Fischer spritzte gerade mit Wasser durch seine Fisch Verarbeitungs..stelle. An Fisch gab es alles was so die Nordsee hergibt. Kabeljau, Makrele, Schellfisch auch Lachse und so manche Schalentiere gabs hier. Nicht etwa bei minus 18°C mit schönen Bildchen in Papier gehüllt. Frisch am morgen gefangen. Im Hintergrund traten Rauchschwaden aus einer Hütte und im Laden sah ich schon Smokies. "Schellfisch" versicherte mir der Fischer. Die Tatsache dass dieser Fisch nicht von einem Fabrikschiff aus Absurdistan kommt beruhigte mein Gewissen.
"A pair of smokies! 2 pound" Große Augen.. Zwei Fische, heute morgen noch lebendig, dann geräuchert und bald in meinem Magen für 3 euro. Döner Adieu. Du warst ein guter Freund.
Bei jedem Happen spürte man noch das Leben dieser Tiere und ab und zu brachte der Wind den Duft ihrer Heimat herüber. Ein Genuß und ein Erlebnis.
Ich war Satt.
Ein Schild deutete den Weg zu den Klippen. Roter Sandstein. Ein sonderbarer Anblick. Und schön! Sehr rau und Spitz waren die Felsen. Lebensfeindlich. Aber scheinbar hier spielte sich erst das wahre Leben ab. Vögelschwärme von klein bis groß und alle arten von duftenden Kräutern so weit das Auge reicht. Was das Land nicht hergab, das gab die See. Hier musste keiner Hungern.
Direkt nebenan hatten die Bauern ihre Felder.
Ungefähr 30 Minuten entlang dem Pfad nach Auchmithie,einem Fischerdörfchen, kam ich in einen Urwald. Nur noch der rote Boden erinnerte an Klippen. Ich hatte mich verlaufen.
Naja.. einfach den Weg zurück wäre öde und nach einem Hin und Her fand ich den richtigen Weg kehrte trotzdem um. Bei Dunkelheit zurückzukehren wäre Schlecht.. :) Besonders wenn man 30 meter fallen kann und die Spuren sich von den Klippen kaum unterscheiden. :)
Es war gut nach Arbroath zu kommen und sicherlich wird ein "Wiederkommen" mindestens genauso gut werden.
Ich geh jedenfalls ins Bett.

Dundee Day One and Two

Es ist soweit! Endlich Bilder von meinen ersten Tagen! Hab ganz viel gesehen und fotographiert und jetzt könnt ihr euch ein wenig die bilder angucken. In den ersten zwei Tagen gabs Regen, Wolken, Kampf Sonne gegen Wolken und strahlenden Sonnenschein mit Sonnenuntergang! Yes.
Das war schön und schön kalt. Aber so ist das halt im Norden.
An dem Tag wollte ich mir was gutes tun. Mir kam die beste Idee ever! .."Thoomasss.. Kauf dir Walkers Salt&Vinegar und ein feines schottisches Ale"
YYESS! Ab zu Tesco der praktischerweise bis 24 uhr auf hat. hehe. Walkers ohne ende.. ab zum Bier. Komisch? Wieso ist hier Absperrband? Is hier ein Mord passiert? Oder Alkohol selbstmord? Auf zu anderen seite.. Auch zu.. was soll das?? das Bier ist zum greifen nahe! Bevor ich Regeln breche frage ich lieber wen. Der meinte darauf das die Alk abteilung um 10 uhr zumacht. Es war 10:05 Uhr und mir war nicht klar wozu. Naja. Man muss sich ja nich besaufen. Aber eeiiin Bier!! So ist das halt.. Nächstes mal komm ich früher.

So seit heute habe ich internet und es ist ganz toll. Es heisst "JANET". Ja.. und Kostet mich nur 35 Pfund damit der Admin eine CD einlegt und ein Programm laufen lässt.. ganz toll.. auf die frage "Kann ich das nicht selbst?" kam " Nein,... das wirst du alleine nicht hinkriegen." Danke.. Und er brauchte 3 stunden dafür.

Naja.. wie das so ist hier am Campus kommen viele lustige Menschen und Möwen vorbei.

Ein ganz normales Gespräch vor meiner Tür:

Ältere Putzfrau oder sowas aus Schottland(am RrrRrr unschwer zu erkennen):

"What does grrraandmotherrr mean in polish?"

Ein dickerer Herr und ein dünner Spund im Kanon: "Babcia..babcia"

Ich habs geschafft.. nach einigen strapazen bei der anfahrt und stundenlangem hin und her in der stadt heute kann ich sagen: Ich bin in Dundee. :)
Erste eindruecke:

-Konzentration beim zuhoeren verhindert das eine oder andere, nach dem dritten mal peinliche "pardon?"

-Polen schaffen es ueberall hin..und das in massen ( schottland ist gut, hier rollen alle auch das rrr)

-Deutschland ist auch present

-Moewen scheissen nicht nur viel und alle haeuser an sondern schreien nachts lauter als tagsueber

So viel zu den ersten eindruecken.. weitere Folgen schon bald. (fotos auch)

Ja, Eschweiler die Inde Metropole mit eigener CO2 Versorgung und top Aufstiegsmöglichkeiten in den innovativen Beruf des Langzeitsarbeitslosen ist wieder mein Zuhause! Aber nicht mehr lange, denn das Ticket in den Westen auf die schönen Inseln Großbritanniens ist für den 20. August gebucht und auch eine Budgetunterkunft werde ich ab dann für wenigstens 4 Tage mein Eigen nennen. Die Vorbereitungen laufen gut hab nur ein bisschen schiss irgendwas zu vergessen. Aber ich denke nicht! Besuche habe ich auch schon gemacht aber da ist eh noch genug nachzuholen! Das heisst jetzt dass Computerspiele wenigstens für die meiste Zeit an zweiter stelle kommen sollten :)
Wen es interessiert was ich so in den letzten Tagen gemacht habe der schaue sich ein paar bildchen unter dem als Bild dargestellten link an :)

Bonsoir!
Regen Regen Regen.. Wieso eigentlich nicht? Ein April ohne Regen muss gerächt werden! Aber ordentlich! Der Gesamtniederschlag im Mai wurde schon in zwei Tagen zu 60% erfüllt.. Traumhaft. Letztes Wochenende schien die Sonne noch ganz warm. Genau richtig für Rhein in Flammen. Schönes Feuerwerk gab es zu sehen am Samstag und irgendwie alles ganz nett. Was die Veranstalter und der Posttower uns mit der Französichen Musik und Fahne sagen wollten kam jedenfalls bei mir nicht an. Vielleicht wollte man die Franzosen anregen doch bitte zur Wahl zu gehen. Das haben sie getan..( Deutschland könnte sich mal ne Scheibe abschneiden!) doch Sarkozy war nicht mein Liebling. Frauen in der Politik finde ich viel schöner. Nicht wegen dem äusserlichem (Frau Royal hatte es aber doch) sondern viel mehr wegen den ausbleibenden Balzkämpfen wo es nicht um Vernunft geht sondern mehr darum einfach den "Stich" zu bekommen.
Apropos Stich! Schottland hat auch ein paar schöne Spitzen, Highlands versteht sich. Alles sieht gut aus. UCAS erledigt, Bafög auch unterwegs nur noch 44 Seiten Bachelor Projekte abchecken und dann 8 auswählen wird zeit in anspruch nehmen. Was solls! Ich hab Zeit. Wohnungen sind auch welche da, nur umgerechnet 360 Euro sind definitiv mehr als in Bonn was mich aber nicht von meiner Entscheidung abhalten sollte.
Was bleibt sonst noch zu sagen... Regen tut gut und in Schottland noch mehr!

Die Sonne scheint,die Blumen blühen und kalt heiß kalt. Ja, und die Erkältung kommt. Da fragt man sich was wohl aus der globalen Erwärmung geworden ist. "Isch dachte es wird wärmer"

Spass bei seite. Ernst wurde es dieses Wochenende als ich nach dem wohl dritten Mittagessen mit Torte zum Nachtisch, mir bei dem Kommentar, ich sei zu dünn, der gefüllte Löffel im Mund verblieb und mir die Antwort verständlicherweise schwer fiel.

Muss man denn immer so viel essen bis man platzt? oder so dick werden, dass bestimmt keiner mehr sagt man sei zu dünn?

Ich meine: Nein!

Also! Wer nicht an seinem eigenem CO2-Austoß im Wohnzimmer in der alljährliche hirnschmelzenden Freßnarkose ersticken will sollte lieber schnell raus in die Sonne bevor das 10te Stück Torte auf dem Teller liegt.

Da ich erkältet bin werde ich weiter per Telekinese den Kuchen vom Teller schieben.

Der neue Blog ist da!
Ein Dank an Paul der das alles möglich gemacht hat! Also hier ist mein neuer blog und mal sehen was draus wird. Fotos und Berichte rund um mein Leben, Studium usw. werde ich munter posten. Hauptsächlich wenn es bald ins Ausland geht, genauer nach Schottland, wo mich der Whisky und die Highlands schon erwarten und von mir erobert werden wollen. Das ganze wird einen informativen Charakter haben damit ihr auch mal was lernt :)
Soviel dazu.
