Ragan Update

Hello Everyone,,

Ragan is doing so much better. There were a few really scary moments but this week she is doing beautifully.

She was born on March 14th and has been in the PICU at Johns Hopkins since March 21. Here is a photo taken today but it was taken from the other side of the window because Ragan's mommy and daddy have a stomach virus and can't go inside. She is more active today then she has ever been. Check out her lil clenched toes - she does that all the time it's so cute.

Our beautiful Ragan

Hello my crafty friends.

As some of you know we have been dealing with the health of our brand new grand daughter Ragan.

Ragan was born at 11:29am on March 14th weighing a petite 5lbs 5oz and 18" long. She was healthy and we were so blessed.

On her 3rd day home (3/21) which was the day AFTER her first well baby check up, my 23yo daughter Krystina went to wake her up because she missed a feeding and Ragan was blue. They called 911 and she was raced to St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore (thankfully my sister is a Ped's nurse at that hospital but she was not on that day) and after an initial assessment they transferred Ragan to Johns Hopkins Childrens Center in Baltimore where she remains in Pediatric Intensive Care.

We have had many ups and downs, good days and bad days. Ragan was diagnosed with RSV which is common in babies. Because of her low weight and she was two weeks early, she is having a very difficult time getting through it. She was on a ventilator for about 10 days and they removed it yesterday around noon. She did beautifully! She was breathing on her own, nice and pink and up to 7 pounds. We were so stinking happy! But just 12 hours later her xray showed a cloud of white on one of her lungs that were just 12 hours earlier completely clear.

We continue to fight the fight. We pray, we send good thoughts, lots of love and all the support and encouragement we can. Please click on the photo below to see it larger. Please share this on your pages. Please ask your friends to do the same. Ragan is still fighting this RSV and having major issues. May be back on ventilator in just a little bit. We want to get the word out. The more prayers, thoughts, words of encouragement, hugs and support these young (23 year old) parents get are most appreciated. Ragan has been in Pediatric ICU at Johns Hopkins Childrens center for 22 days now. The medical costs are astronomical but the day to day costs of transportation, gas, parking and food have wiped them out. Donation information is on her page if anyone is inclined. More importantly just clicking 'like' is showing support which is a major form of comfort for all of us who love Ragan. Ragan has only been in her own crib for 3 days of her life, we don't know when she will come home but we are confident we will bring this lil one home again someday. Thank you all.

Hey everyone :)

I have been busy so far this year - just 3 weeks in and it's been crazy. The Flu hit our house and just as that was on it's way out I get an infection spread across 4 teeth - just now starting to feel better and tomorrow it's Dentist day with root canals and crowns YIPES!

Anyway - I wanted to share what I did to my craft room. I'm digging it and have been spending a bunch of time in there the last few days. First I wanna share the before pictures:

This is what my desktop looked like the day after Christmas. How insane is that?

The next photo shows my paper area - all those bags on the floor is stuff I was going to alter or use for Christmas. Yeah, that worked out well.

Here we have a shot of where I sit. I am surprised I could even move.

This is under my desk - that colorful rolly thingy holds a lot of stamping stuffs. And then on the right is my alterables cabinet and shelf of 'stuff' that I can't find a home for

And now for the Reveal!

1. "What are your cutters sitting on? That is actually a rolling Microwave cart with a wooden top. These were sold at Target many many moons ago but I checked yesterday online and both Walmart & Target carry them. VERY handy. I just roll it over to my desk and can have them all going at once :)
2. Where did you get the cat tree? LOL Got that from somewhere on line in 08 when one of our cats lost her front leg and had issues climbing - as you can see the cissel rope is coming off and we have to get some new stuffs but they love it!
3. Just how big is that desk? The desk is 6x4. Very very comfortable for 2 crafters to spread out. Each corner is 2 Cubes from Michaels and they are sitting on the wheel trays (also from Michaels) so a total of 8 cubes and the top is Melemie (spelling eek!) from Michaels, 25.00 and they cut off 2 feet for me. Sits right on top and didn't even anchor it.
4. Where did you get that that wall desk/unit. My dad made that when I was 12 for mom. The cut out in the center is actually for a window in the room he built it for.

And this is what I have been working on and will do a future post telling you all about it. You'll love it!

You know how we are all pretty much addicted to Pinterest? Yeah, me too. I love collecting things I want to try someday, life hacks, funny things, recipes that look oh so yummy but you don't have all the ingredients (or patience) for at that moment so you file it for when you do.

I decided to Challenge myself in 2013 to try things - really try them. I may post the results, I may not, but I will try them.

Happy New Year! 2013

Hello everyone!

I sure hope you had a fantastic holiday and today is the start of a brand new year! I'm so excited at the things I have in store (not 1, but TWO grandbabies coming!) and my plans for this blog and my crafting life. I'm not going to make 'resolutions' because we all know how that went last year LOL.

I created a group on Facebook called 2013 USE IT! I'm amazed at how many people joined the first day! Over 100!!!

Our plans are to support one another in the effort to stop buying supplies just cause we think we will use them someday. Use what we have. Of course you can't go a full year with out purchasing, that would be just insane to expect such a thing. Run out and buy your adhesives, paper you need for an already planned project, stickles new color, reinkers, etc. But try very hard to plan your projects in advance utilizing what you have on hand. I forsee myself running out of black & white papers and gun tape. I also for see myself needing to make things for the babies and baby shower coming up which may need some special paper. One baby is a girl, we won't know what the other is until next week. One daughter is due in March, the other in July. Son is joining the USAF and engaged. Yes it is gonna be a very active 2013.

We all got very very brave and posted REAL photos of our craft rooms as they are at that moment. No tidying up allowed. Oh you should see some of the brave ladies! We have a folder called "Before Photos" Another called "In Progress" and a 3rd called "Reveal"

So far I'm the only one with photos in all 3 folders but I know there are several ladies working on theirs today.

Here is a video tour of my completed reorganized, cleaned out and cleaned up craft area. I did get rid of a lot (cheesy stuff I knew I wouldn't use, dried up adhesive, scrap paper that won't to thru a machine or won't be used on a card/LO etc. Take a peek and let me know what you think.

A Elegantly Easy Christmas card and other Christmas treats

Hi Terri here with another stamping project!

A few weeks ago I made a simple but elegant Christmas card and have finally gotten around to sharing the beauty of this card with you.

This card uses Stampin Up's new Core'dinations Gumball Green cardstock which can be distressed or sanded to show the coordinating under layer. I added a flourish designer frame around the ornament found in the Joyous Celebrations stamp set and embeliished with cherry cobbler sweater trim.

Want to know how easy this card was to put together? Well, good because I made a video!

I've also made some Hershey nugget Christmas treats for my friends. These were inspired by a video Tangee posted here a week or so ago. These are also very easy to make! Instructions from Tangee's video:
Cut 4 pieces of 1x3" DSP strips, 1 piece of coordinating cardstock 2x4" and score 1/4" on both long sides. Secure the the DSP strips on Hershey nuggets using glue dots; place a line of tape runner down the center of the cardstock and press the covered nuggets on top. Place the tray inside a pretzel rod bag, tie with ribbon and voila, a little Christmas love for someone special!

Hershey Nugget Holiday Ideas

Hi everyone and happy December! May the crazy commence!

I have some fun idea's for you for stocking stuffers! I stumbled on a blog and she has such awesome ideas I just had to try some - check out www.thesouthernstamper.com the lady is a genius!

Here is a lil video for you showing you how to wrap the Nuggets and some fun things you can do with them:

How cute are these tins? LOVE them! You can buy them at www.papermart.com and get details on the measurements in the video above. I love how they turned out! I had a left over roll of Hello Kitty ribbon from a project I did on my daughters birthday - I wrapped 12 of the nuggets with it and think they turned out adorable! I learned how to do the bow from Pinterest - the gal calls it "Ribbon Candy Bow" I tweaked it a little for this project but love how it turned out. The candy sleeves were fun too and I have directions for those on the video as well. The bottle caps with Ravens logo you see in the background were actually done for a friend - we are in Ravens country but this house is Green Bay Packers all the way

This is my fabulous family all together for Thanksgiving! Matthew flew up from Florida to surprise us, he was only here for the day :( Amanda (in blue/white stripes) lives just 1/4 mile away and Krystina (my 5 month pregnant precious mama to be) is about 10 miles away.

Hopefully will be posting another project in a day or three.

Print and Cut - graphics and your Pazzles

I know I am not posting on the correct day, but if I don't while I get the chance I may not get round to it.

I have been busy designing projects for a new on-line magazine dedicated to crafter's who enjoy using die cutting machines called The Cutting Edge Magazine.

Anyhow, enough rambling on. Here is my project following my recent Print and Cut Video Tutorial for the Pazzles Inspiration. Did you see it, what did you think? I would love some positive feedback.

Today I thought I would show you the sort of cards that you can make using your cutter together with graphic files.

Look how great my Print and Cut tree cut out!

It cut out so well using my Pazzles Inspiration cutter that I layered 2 of them on top of each other with craft foam pads for dimension. I then added some gorgeous self adhesive rhinestones to the centre of the flowers.

I printed out my text, using my Pazzles Studio Pro software .....

.....and cut it out using Print and Cut again!

I also cut my frame using Kaisercraft paper and layered it onto my base card which I made also using my Pazzles Studio Pro Software.

Hey it's Terri with another stamping project!

I hope everyone is safe and sound following Sandy's grand waltz through the eastern part of the country. So far there has been little damage in my immediate neighborhood.

Since the power remained on at my house during the storm I was able to edit my latest stamping project and post it to YouTube. It's an adorable Christmas card with a Santa suit motif that's very easy to make.

Sweet candy cane note card

Hey there! Terri here with a really quick stamping project...

I made a short video How-To video for a 3x3" note card using Stampin Up's Scentsational Seasons stamp set. There is a coordinating framelits die cut for this set--which I don't have yet---but I was still able to make cut-outs for my card.

My card was inspired by cards DeAnn Rauzi made. This little card is the perfect accent for a hostess gift, teacher gift, cookie swap, or other holiday exchanges.

I love the simplicity and colors used for this little card, so much so that I included one in each of my club member orders.

Oh my - so so much going on - summer just flew by didn't it? First, we have a Peachy Keen Winner - I announced it on facebook and forgot to announce it here and wondered why the winner didn't come forward LOL. Anyway - Congrats Lynn!

Terrible just how true this is of me LOL

Hubby and I went to Chantilly VA to the Pazzles retreat. Well, he went to local historical sites, I went to the retreat and let me tell you I had a wonderful time. First, when we pulled up to the hotel I went to get out and absolutely could not stand up. I put my feet out, went to stand up and could not straighten my back. This lady is sitting on a bench looking at me and bursts out laughing! I knew we were going to be great friends! (didn't hurt myself, just stiff from sitting in the car so long) After we checked in I found her in the lobby and introduced myself. She is Sharon from PA and was great fun - we learned tons together. We also giggled a lot. Allen took us to dinner and hung out with us after class. Isn't he Handsome? Love that man of mine.

Here is a photo from the back of the room looking forward (obviously) That empty chair is mine. Sharon is to my right and Linda is next to her. The people to our left didn't like us. Don't know why I'm so darn personable. Ah well what can ya do?

The pictures above are small but you can click on them and get the full size. Just various angles of the classroom. The one looking from the front to the back I kinda got the stink eye for LOL. On the right is the famous Klo. She has her own classroom in the Pazzles Craft Room online with so many videos you will be a pro in no time!

Ya gotta check out the Pazzles if you haven't already. You can get it for 99 bucks and then a 2 year contract with the craft room (19.99 a month) The lady that created the Pazzles is Chris and omg she is so helpful and kind. She invented the personal cutter. Yes, that cutter from Cricut was her invention. I gotta tell you, 3 days in the classroom with her and Klo and not a single negative thing was said about any competitor including cricut. That is classy as far as I'm concerned.

I love all the features (print and cut is a fav) and will showcase them with different projects I do through out October. Christie Anderson (who is recovering from emergency surgery and needs our love) Joanna (the mad poster) and I all have Pazzles - any thing we can help you with just let us know.

I am also using the Cameo & the Cricut Imagine. But Pazzles has quickly become my favorite cutter - you can cut almost any file out there (svgs, pdfs, etc)

Hi! Terri here with another stamping project....

I teach a monthly Christmas card club. Each month the club members make 4 cards, 2 each of 2 designs. I love it and they do, too!

One of the cards this month was inspired by a card in the Stampin Up 2012 Holiday catalog on page 7. Our version looked liked this....

This card features several items from the Holiday catalog-- the Joyous Celebrations stamp set, the holiday frame embossing folder, and Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details.

I love this card! So much so that it may become the design I use for my family Christmas cards----and I made a video tutorial....

Cake banner project and video

Hey! Terri here with another paper-craft project and video. Enjoy!

I just posted my latest tutorial to YouTube.....and it's all about cake banners! I suspect a few of you are scratching your heads and pondering what the heck this means. I took a picture of the banner I made for my daughter's birthday a party; I think you'll agree cake banners are awesome!

I made a video showing how easy these banners are to make. I didn't get a still photo of the baby shower cake banner shown in the video once it was on the cake, but the video has great shots of that banner.

Hexagonal Decorative Boxes (svg's)

Hi everyone, it's Joanna again as guest designer from ilove2cutpaper sharing with you my project this week.

I love making boxes with my Pazzles cutting machine especially at this time of the year as they are so handy for festive gifts.

For these boxes I have used svg files from a set which includes different designed bases and lids.

The boxes are available in ai, dxf, eps, gsd, jpg, pdf and svg file formats for your cutting machine.

I cut these 2 boxes using the same base. Then I cut out 2 different lids in coordinating paper.

I decided not to cut out the top centre piece of the lid design so I moved it to the side and made it larger in 2 increasing sizes using the outline feature.

Using different coordinating paper I layered the centre design and added an antique brad to the middle.

And here is the inside of the decorative box ready to fill with a gift.

Using double sided paper by Kaisercraft (These Days Collection) made the box really easy to put together. I love this paper so much I think I will have to buy some more!

Hi friends!

Terri here with another stamping project...although this is more of a punching project!

I was again inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest and had to make it, then loved it so much I made a video about the card.

My daughter's birthday was last month. Once I saw a tri-fold castle card made by Lisa Young on Pinterest, with a written tutorial on her blog addinkandstamp.blogspot.com, I knew this was the card I would make for my daughter. What do you think? Could you have resisted making this card??

Hello Krazies!

Yes it's actually me this time! Krazy isn't it? I don't need to tell you how insane hectic my life has been lately so I'll just say this - soon my friends.... soon I will be back and driving y'all nuts with my krazy projects and krazy reorganizing and such. I have so much to share with you! Just about ALL my cricut stuff has been sold. I do have a fist full of cartridges and I will continue to do binder projects from time to time but my main focus will be Pazzles & Cameo. We will be sticking to a schedule of sorts (Stamping days, kutter days, pinterest posts, etc) And there will be loads of contests! Blog candy - you know you love it!

Also big news, I will be changing the website to www.kutterkrazy.com but no worries. You won't have to change anything you do because I will still own kricutkrazy.com and it will automatically transfer you to the new site - you won't even notice.

Here's my story:

We were stationed in Key West Florida. The kids were at school, I was on my way to work and late as usual. I went to flip off the tv and go out the door and saw the Tower on fire. I stood there transfixed. I called the office to tell them to turn on the tv and then drove to work. When I arrived a few minutes later everyone was around the tv watching. By now the 2nd tower had been hit. I was starting to get very very very scared. I didn't want to believe it. We just stood there. Then...... the Pentagon was hit. I looked at my boss and said "I have to get my children" he told me to go ahead. As I drove back toward the base I was suddenly terror stricken. Who do I pick up first? My 6th grader in town at the middle school or my 4th grader on the base at the elementary school? At the last second I decided to go to town first (good thing too as they shut down the base right after I got back on it) Most of our husbands were gone for days as they worked at neighboring bases (Key West has 3 plus the one with housing that we were on) the kids didn't really understand what was happening and all the neighbors just stood outside and talked with one another. It was horribly tragic as you are aware and something we will never forget. Ever.

Ok so on that note - lets share our stories! I'll pick a winner on Friday!

Terri here with another stamping project.

I saw a holiday card on the Stampin Up demo-only website that I thought was so beautiful I couldn't wait to copy it! And then I loved it so much I included it as a club project and still loved it so much I made a video showing how to make it. That's a lot of love! Thank you Paula Dobson for sharing the original inspirational card!!!!

Alphabet Blocks Gift Box

Hi everyone, it's Joanna again as guest designer from ilove2cutpaper sharing with you my project this week.

This is the cutest of projects which you can use with your (Pazzles Inspiration) cutting machine or hand cut with scissors, it's that easy!

This would make the cutest baby christening gift box, don't you think?

I must say I have had the most wonderful trip down memory lane cutting these files, remembering all the sweet baby moments I had when my 3 children were born!

Incidentally, as you have the cut line for the box included in the Alphabet Block - Print and Cut set you could print out some of the digital papers also available in the collection. I would lay the digital printed sheet on your cutting mat and just use the cut file (svg).....so many options.

For these Alphabet Blocks, I decided not to print and cut, although the file does include the cut file for you to use with your electronic cutting machine. The boxes are so easy to cut with scissors so, on this occasion that's what I did.

Once downloaded onto my computer I selected the .png format and right clicked to print from my desktop, (not even opening my Pazzles software).

When my printer settings were open (as above) I DE-SELECTED Fit picture to frame using Paper size A4. On the right hand side I selected the size of the print I wanted which meant I could change the size of the printed boxes. I selected Full page photo for my gift box.

Here is my A4 printed page which has just come off the printer.

Once my box was printed out I cut around using scissors!

Then scored using my bone folder (very easy), then assembled my boxes.

Pinwheel card -- a new video tutorial

Hey friends!

It's Terri with another stamping project.

I've posted another video tutorial! This one shows how to make a pinwheel card using Stampin Up products.

My version was inspired by a similar card made by Justin over at www.jkcards.wordpress.com. I made the card below (with the yellow background), and loved it so much I used it as one of my Stampin Up convention swap cards back in July. And it was posted here on July 24 with instructions on how to make it.

But then I started making video tutorials and decided this card was so super awesome I had to make a video tutorial for it. I changed the colors for the video making the pinwheel in Daffodil Delight yellow and the background Real Red. But the camera didn't pick up these vibrant colors, so I 'm a little sad....but happy about the video!

Another stamping project

Hi! It's Terri with another stamping project!

I made a video tutorial showing how to make a "fabulous" small box using Sizzix Box #2 die. The box is perfect for giving a little something-something to a friend or co-worker or as a party favor. I made several of these boxes. The first went to my hair hairdresser, the rest to my stamp club members with their monthly orders. They're easy to make and cute!

Following a sketch with my Pazzles Studio Pro software.

Hi, here I am again, Joanna as guest designer at Kricut Krazy, sharing a recent project with my Pazzles Inspiration cutting machine.

Making this card using my Pazzles I really challenged myself, on two counts. Firstly, I tried a recent sketch from Mojo Monday and secondly, I challenged myself to use papers and graphics with my Pazzles 2010 Studio Pro software.

I imported the sketch layout as a .jpeg into my Pazzles software and then drew the elements so that I could cut them with my cutting machine at the desired size.

I then printed out some digital papers and laid them onto my cutting mat and cut each element as I required.

I chose my images and I then print and cut the graphics out with my Pazzles Inspiration.

This is not my usual style of card but I love how it turned out.

The combination of the papers and graphics made it easier to follow the sketch that seemed to have zillions of layers!

I am pleased I had a go at the challenge!

Blog update - important changes and such

Hello everyone!

There have been quite a few changes in my crafting world lately that I want to share with you. As you know, I've been purging my cricut stuff slowly. I'm down to about 50 cartridges and 1 machine left to sell. Does this mean Kricut Krazy is no more? Absolutely not.

I have decided to keep my Cricut Imagine. Along with my Imagine cartridges and about a good dozen or so regular cartridges, and most likely a few new ones. I will still be doing cricut projects about once a week or so - even if I have to have a guest designer for those. That is undecided at this point.

However, I will still be crafting, finding deals to share with you, cool organization ideas to share with you and some other cool stuff so please stay with me as I go through these changes.

I sold my E2 to a sweet lady and used those funds for a Silhouette Cameo and am learning it a little more each day. I also have a Pazzles that has been on the shelf for a coupla months but I'm going to a retreat in September (just a few weeks away) and am excited at what I will learn there.

There will still be blog candy now and then - as a matter of fact I have THREE fun Stamp sets from Peachy Keen they graciously donated and a few other things hiding to share with you.

My team of Krazies - Heather, Heather, Christie, Teri (our stamping up expert) & our resident Pazzles Expert from Down Under Joanna will still be very much a part of the team. Christie is out sick and has to have emergency surgery this week but she'll be ok so no worries. The Heathers will be back after school starts and Teri and Joanna will still be popping up.

Thank you guys! For 2 years of loyalty and friendship, comments and blog hops, fun and laughter.

The next day or three will be busy for my resident Web Mistress and Design Diva Sarah as she revamps the page. It will continue to be www.kricutkrazy.com but some things will look different
