There’s been an enormous amount of talk recently about the app called Color. Essentially it’s a mega cool app that allows you to film or photograph an event, locate someone else nearby who is filming the same thing, see what they are filming and then tag it by location or topic. “So what?” you may say.

Customers calling Telstra recently might have been surprised to be greeted by David Thodey and members of his leadership team. Following their regular meeting at our new state of the art call centre at 717 Bourke Street in Melbourne, the executives quickly realised they were in for a surprise. They were told they would spend the next few hours taking customer calls.

Welcome to podcast no 2 in TelstraTalks. In this edition, we are talking about the tension between self indulgent uses of social media and those that serve the greater good.

Author: Kristen Boschma.
One of the things that is great about our team here in Telstra is that we love social media to the point of obsession. We constantly share new sites, ideas and issues with each other and enjoy the ensuing conversation. So we thought that we might start a weekly podcast where we talk about social media, changing the world and other topics of great importance.

I love it when a plan comes together. Or in this case when a plan emerges from a coffee, a chat and a general willingness to leave the world a better place than we found it.

It's day 3 for me here at SXSW and I'm still processing all I've seen and learnt. If I come again (which I hope to) I have come up with a few tips to really maximise the experience.
Author: Kristen Boschma: So you would have gathered by now that Telstra was a proud sponsor of Oprah's Ultimate Australia Adventure. The logistics and technical support we offered was quite extensive from handset supply, access to the Next G network, remote assistance, handing out survival kits at the Opera House and network construction we were there and ready to help.
