Summer’s coming. School’s ending. We’ll be chillaxing in the hammock. :)

When I met Alisha and Jordan in February for their engagement session, I knew that their wedding day would be a joy to photograph….and it certainly didn’t disappoint!  There was sunshine and laughter, tons of fabulous details and a wonderful day with family and friends. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of it!

There was simply no way to narrow down the pictures…so be prepared for a rather long post (as in 14mb worth – they may take a minute to load). :) Thanks also, to my friend Wenda Sikma for second shooting for me on my first wedding of this year!

First, a relaxed morning getting ready…

Hello, beautiful ladies! Looking simply marvelous!

The ceremony was held at The Orchard, which is by the Corn Maze. Such a great venue, with tons of amazing spots for formals afterward. Jordan and Alisha didn’t want to see each other until Alisha walked down the aisle, but they did want to say a prayer together before the ceremony…

Ah, I love the vibrant spring colors…the buttercups, the apple trees.

Old trucks, tractors, a barn full of hay – so many wonderful spots to shoot! These are some of my favorite pictures of the whole day…

Then a quick drive down the road to the Blue Heron Reserve, where the sunlight was brilliant, and I could have shot for hours. ;)

….but alas, we had a reception to head off to….

Did I want to shoot Nina again some time? Hello, yes!! Her brother Sean couldn’t be at the shoot like we’d planned, but I hope to shoot the whole family at the end of the summer.

My camera loves this chick. She knows how to work if for the camera like none other. :) I’m so glad I was able to use my BFM vintage chair at long last, and it’s been a while since I shot at my neighbor’s barn too…

So glad that Kat and Dakota joined us for a few pictures!

But then, it started to rain. Thankfully we were able to head upstairs to the hayloft for some more dramatic portraits. We even had a natural wind machine, since the wind was blowing hard through the open door… Ah, I love these! :)

Such a tough (but great!) name for a little softie. :) This cutie wasn’t such a fan of getting his pictures taken, but we kept at it and got some keepers after all. Not hard really, when photographing such an adorable baby!

Liam’s 8th, and Queen Victoria’s 194th, was spent hiking at Harrison, hanging out on a beach, and later eating pizza and cake with family on our back patio.

There was the four of us, enjoying one of the most beautiful places on earth, in our (yes, I admit, planned) color-coordinated outfits. There was running back and forth from my camera to my family, since I forgot my remote control. Not to mention the fact that there was gifts, sunshine and a whole lot of loving for a wonderful little boy. (Yes, little. I’m in denial that he and Jade are growing up so quickly.)

Happy birthday, baby boy. We love you!

So excited about upcoming weddings and family sessions. BUSY SEASON is upon us. :)

Oh my dear. I may be a tad biased, since this baby is the newest member of my family….but is this little guy not one of the cutest babies you have ever seen???

Welcome, baby Casen (Cornelis Willem after Opa Kerkhoff) to this big, wide world.

Casen thought he’d show up 6 weeks early (3 weeks ago), so he spent the first couple weeks in Surrey and then Abbotsford’s NICU, but he’s been home for a week now and is doing great, and is already over 6lbs!

Yeah, we’re all fighting for him when they come over; who gets him first, and who’s held him the longest. Can you blame us? LOVE this kid already (…even if he did wake up half way through his session and refuse to go back to sleep, and even though he did pee all over his mommy while she was feeding him mid-session to try and put him back to sleep…)! :)

When Jenita Devisser of Urban Fig Photography asked me if I’d be up for second shooting a wedding with her in early May, I jumped at the chance. I love second shooting, and thought it’d be fun to hang out with Jete for the day too…since she was Atmosphere Floors‘ first employee back in 2004! :)

As soon as we got to the bride’s house, I was sent off to go and shoot the guys getting ready. Hello guys, lookin’ good! Then I joined Jete back at the bride’s home for a few more pics before heading off to church and bridal party pictures at Gwynn Vaughn Park….

…before heading off to Island 22 for a few more shots…

I had such a great day, thanks Jete for having me along! I hope I didn’t interfere / do my own thing / forget that I wasn’t the first shooter too often. :D  Loved shooting with you, and totally enjoyed meeting and shooting Beck and Derek. Thanks! :)

My first wedding of the season is coming up next Saturday! Looking forward to it. xo

…as all my families that I shoot are, of course. :)

Christine works for our store, Atmosphere Floors and Design Centre, and it was great getting to meet her husband and adorable little boys. I must say, I love shooting families with little kids; the shoots end up being so spontaneous, and informal. Never a dull moment, you could say…and these kids certainly didn’t disappoint. ;)

Perfect for a drive, with my camera and kids in tow.

The tulip fields were rather lovely this year, as always. My favorite flower, with my favorite kids. Pretty hard to go wrong. :)

On the way home, we stopped on Ferry Road to check out what we used to call “The Backwash.” I can’t believe we used to swim in this swampy hole as kids! Such great memories though….
