Chuck Liddell Workout Video Is a Reebok Ad

The Chuck Liddell workout video that has been burning up the Internet and even got on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night is an advertisement for Reebok.

The video shows Liddell and his girlfriend, Heidi Northcott, working out wearing nothing but Reebok ZigTechs, a new line of shoes that Reebok is launching next month and that Liddell has been making appearances for as a celebrity endorser.

TMZ first reported, and MMA Fighting has confirmed, that the whole nude workout scene was a put-on designed to drum up attention for Reebok. It seems to have worked.

Walt Disney World monorails to receive Tron makeover

In a day full of announcements from Disney’s 2010 shareholder meeting, one additional detail has snuck onto the official Disney Parks Blog. At Walt Disney World, an Epcot monorail will be wrapped in artwork promoting the upcoming film “Tron: Legacy.” Here’s a peek at the artwork featuring a snazzy light cycle design:

Already being unofficially dubbed the “Tron-o-rail,” this artwork could be seen at Walt Disney World as early as some time this month (March), though the “Tron: Legacy” film does not hit theaters until Dec. 2010.

At today’s shareholders meeting, Disney CEO Bob Iger also mentioned that a Tron TV series and video games are in development.

New York chef makes cheese out of wife's breast milk

In the world of haute cuisine, pushing the boundaries of taste has become commonplace.

But in a move that has delighted some and disgusted others, a chef has made cheese out of his wife's breast milk.

The idea struck chef Daniel Angerer eight weeks ago after his wife gave birth and she began freezing her excess milk.

As she produced far more than she could use for their their daughter Arabella, Daniel became curious as to whether human milk could be used in the kitchen.

So he began to experiment in using it to make cheese. He aged it for a fortnight before testing it - and was amazed at its sweet taste.

Now the unusual cheese is on sale at the chef’s Klee Brasserie in New York.

He is using it in a range of upmarket dishes including maple caramelized pumpkin encrusted cheese with concord grapes, and cheese rolled in dehydrated porcini mushroom powder with burned onion chutney.

How to make it... if you should ever want to
Ingredients:
4 cups mother’s milk
1½ teaspoons yogurt (must be active cultured yogurt)
1/8 tablet rennet
1 teaspoon sea salt

80s Teen Idol Corey Haim Dead at 38

LOS ANGELES -- Actor and former teen idol Corey Haim has died at the age of 38, the Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed to KTLA.

Haim died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday of an apparent accidental overdose, according to the LAPD's North Hollywood Division.

Coroner's Lt. Cheryl MacWillie said an autopsy would determine an official cause of death.

Haim was found unresponsive inside an Oakwood apartment, between Burbank and the Hollywood Hills, police said.

He was at home with his mother at the time.

The Canadian-born actor, who has struggled with drug addiction, was pronounced dead Providence St. Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank, police said.

Haim became a teen heartthrob in the 80s after appearing in the 1986 film "Lucas" and 1987's "The Lost Boys," which also starred fellow teen idol Corey Feldman.

Both actors appeared together on the A&E show "The Two Coreys," which aired from 2007 to 2008.

Haim was nominated for a Viewer's Choice Award at the 22nd Annual Gemini Awards in Canada for his role on the show, which was canceled after two seasons.

Academy Award-winning actor Robert De Niro is attached to play legendary coach Vince Lombardi in the theatrical motion picture "Lombardi" being developed by ESPN Films, Andell Entertainment and the NFL. Additionally, Academy Award-winning screenwriter Eric Roth (Forrest Gump, The Good Shepherd) has come on board the project, which will chronicle Lombardi during the years he transformed the Green Bay Packers from the worst team in the National Football League into five-time NFL champions.

"Having an icon portray an icon on film is amazing," said Ron Semiao, senior vice president of ESPN Films, "and with a writer as talented as Eric working on the script, the results could be magical for NFL fans."

Current plans call for the film's release on the weekend between the AFC and NFC Conference Championships and the Super Bowl in 2012.

Barbie is a fashion doll manufactured by the American toy-company Mattel, Inc. and launched in March 1959. American businesswoman Ruth Handler (1916–2002) is credited with the creation of the doll using a German doll called Bild Lilli as her inspiration.

Barbie has been an important part of the toy fashion doll market for fifty years, and has been the subject of numerous controversies and lawsuits, often involving parody of the doll and her lifestyle.

Barbie's popularity ensures that her effect on the play of children attracts a high degree of scrutiny. The criticisms leveled at her are often based on the assumption that children consider Barbie a role model and will attempt to emulate her.

Barbie's waist has been widened in more recent versions of the doll

One of the most common criticisms of Barbie is that she promotes an unrealistic idea of body image for a young woman, leading to a risk that girls who attempt to emulate her will become anorexic. A standard Barbie doll is 11.5 inches tall, giving a height of 5 feet 9 inches at 1/6 scale. Barbie's vital statistics have been estimated at 36 inches (chest), 18 inches (waist) and 33 inches (hips). According to research by the University Central Hospital in Helsinki, Finland, she would lack the 17 to 22 percent body fat required for a woman to menstruate. In 1963 the outfit "Barbie Baby-Sits" came with a book entitled How to Lose Weight which advised: "Don't eat." The same book was included in another ensemble called "Slumber Party" in 1965 along with a pink bathroom scale reading 110 lbs., which would be around 35 lbs. underweight for a woman 5 feet 9 inches tall. In 1997 Barbie's body mold was redesigned and given a wider waist, with Mattel saying that this would make the doll better suited to contemporary fashion designs.
"Colored Francie" made her debut in 1967, and she is sometimes described as the first African American Barbie doll. However, she was produced using the existing head molds for the white Francie doll and lacked African characteristics other than a dark skin. The first African American doll in the Barbie range is usually regarded as Christie, who made her debut in 1968. Black Barbie was launched in 1980 but still had white features. In September 2009, Mattel introduced the So In Style range, which was intended to create a more realistic depiction of black people than previous dolls.
In July 1992 Mattel released Teen Talk Barbie, which spoke a number of phrases including "Will we ever have enough clothes?", "I love shopping!", and "Wanna have a pizza party?" Each doll was programmed to say four out of 270 possible phrases, so that no two dolls were likely to be the same. One of these 270 phrases was "Math class is tough!" (often misquoted as "Math is hard"). Although only about 1.5% of all the dolls sold said the phrase, it led to criticism from the American Association of University Women. In October 1992 Mattel announced that Teen Talk Barbie would no longer say the phrase, and offered a swap to anyone who owned a doll that did

In 1997 Mattel joined forces with Nabisco to launch a cross-promotion of Barbie with Oreo cookies. Oreo Fun Barbie was marketed as someone with whom little girls could play after class and share "America's favorite cookie." As had become the custom, Mattel manufactured both a white and a black version. Critics argued that in the African American community Oreo is a derogatory term meaning that the person is "black on the outside and white on the inside," like the chocolate sandwich cookie itself. The doll was unsuccessful and Mattel recalled the unsold stock, making it sought after by collectors.
In May 1997 Mattel introduced Share a Smile Becky, a doll in a pink wheelchair. Kjersti Johnson, a 17-year-old high school student in Tacoma, Washington with cerebral palsy, pointed out that the doll would not fit into the elevator of Barbie's $100 Dream House. Mattel announced that it would redesign the house in the future to accommodate the doll.
In March 2000 stories appeared in the media claiming that the hard vinyl used in vintage Barbie dolls could leak toxic chemicals, causing danger to children playing with them. The claim was rejected as false by technical experts. A modern Barbie doll has a body made from ABS plastic, while the head is made from soft PVC.
In September 2003 the Middle Eastern country of Saudi Arabia outlawed the sale of Barbie dolls, saying that she did not conform to the ideals of Islam. The Committee for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice stated "Jewish Barbie dolls, with their revealing clothes and shameful postures, accessories and tools are a symbol of decadence to the perverted West. Let us beware of her dangers and be careful." In Middle Eastern countries there is an alternative doll called Fulla which is similar to Barbie but is designed to be more acceptable to an Islamic market. Fulla is not made by the Mattel Corporation, and Barbie is still available in other Middle Eastern countries including Egypt. In Iran, Sara and Dara dolls are available as an alternative to Barbie.
In December 2005 Dr. Agnes Nairn at the University of Bath in England published research suggesting that girls often go through a stage where they hate their Barbie dolls and subject them to a range of punishments, including decapitation and placing the doll in a microwave oven. Dr. Nairn said: "It's as though disavowing Barbie is a rite of passage and a rejection of their past."

A Barbie with a lower back tattoo was released in 2009.

In April 2009, the launch of a Totally Tattoos Barbie with a range of tattoos that could be applied to the doll, including a lower back tattoo, led to controversy. Mattel's promotional material read "Customize the fashions and apply the fun temporary tattoos on you too", but Ed Mayo, chief executive of Consumer Focus, argued that children might want to get tattooed themselves.

Mac Geeks Play Your Games

Valve games, Steam headed to Macs

Thanks to Valve's Steam, gaming on the Mac will be very much alive.

It looks like gamers can finally start taking the Mac platform seriously. Confirming recent stirrings, Valve announced Monday that it will bring its gaming service Steam, and Source, its proprietary gaming engine, to Macs.

Started in 2003, Valve is now arguably the biggest online distributor of games. By last month, Valve revealed that it had more than 25 million active Steam user accounts and, at any given time, about 2 million gamers are using the service. There are more than 1,000 games available on Steam. Not all of them will be immediately available on the Mac platform as this will depend on developers.

According to Valve, Steamworks for the Mac supports all of the Steamworks APIs, and a new feature, called Steam Play, allows customers who purchase the product for the Mac or Windows to play on the other platform free of charge. This means a gamer can play the PC version of a game via Steam Play, then continue on the Mac version without having to pay extra.

Valve's library includes titles it developed: Left 4 Dead 2, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, Portal, and the Half-Life series, which will be available in April. As these games belong to Valve, they will likely be the first games ported to the Mac platform.

John Cook, director of Steam development at Valve, revealed that games will be ported to Mac as native versions, as opposed to via an emulation, and in the future Valve will release games simultaneously for Windows, Mac, and the Xbox 360. Mac and Windows players will be part of the same multiplayer universe, sharing servers, lobbies, and so forth. Cook said the first Mac Steam client is currently in beta testing.

If nothing changes, Portal 2 will be Valve's first simultaneous release for Mac and Windows. That game is due in the fourth quarter.

Armed Thieves Nab German Poker Tournament Jackpot

BERLIN (March 6) -- A heavily armed group stormed a poker tournament in a German luxury hotel Saturday afternoon and made off with a jackpot, a police spokesman said.

Several participants at the tournament in Berlin's Grand Hyatt hotel were slightly injured when they panicked and fled following the daring afternoon heist, Carsten Mueller said.

Mueller said four robbers in disguises forced employees to hand over money, and then managed to escape. Mueller declined to give details, including how much money the men got away with.

Police vehicles are parked in front of the Grand Hyatt hotel in Berlin, where a heavily-armed group pulled off a daring heist during a poker tournament Saturday.

The jackpot for the tournament stood at euro1 million ($1.36 million), according to a European Poker Tour Web site. The EPT confirmed the heist on the event's blog in an official statement, saying there had been "an armed robbery executed by six men." It was unclear why the number differed from the police count.

The B.Z. daily quoted witnesses as saying that the robbers were armed with automatic weapons, machetes and hand grenades.

Mueller declined to comment on the weapons, citing the ongoing investigation.

German news website Spiegel Online quoted witness Claudia Sommerey as saying that panic spread in the room at the five-star hotel in downtown Berlin.

Sommerey told Spiegel Online she hid under a table. "I saw three disguised men with rifles," she was quoted as saying.

The tournament was organized by the European Poker Tour, which calls it the biggest such event in Germany. The tournament was to be continued in the late afternoon.

According to the organization's website, about 400 participants started into the five days long competition on Wednesday. Most of them, however, had already dropped out of the game by Saturday, among them tennis great Boris Becker.

This 17 year old metal head living in England has a future:

Jacqueline was born on the 4th July 1992 and began playing guitar at the age of 11. She started as an acoustic guitarist; then moved onto playing improvised Jazz music regularly to audiences of 150 people.
Jacqueline soon found a love for classic rock and began learning her favourite guitar solos by ear. Jacqueline is left handed, however, plays right handed.
After listening to some heavy metal for the first time, she was completely inspired and taught herself shred guitar techniques (such as: tapping, tremolo picking and sweep picking). By the age of 15, she made it to the Top 50 in "Dean Guitars Shredder Search".
At 16, Jacqueline studied at the Guitar Institute (a.k.a ICMP) in London.

It very rarely rains in Southern California, but this past year we saw some serious rain. On one of those rainy days, guests got to see a beautiful rainbow that arched all the way across the sky.

There are many attractions and things to do inside at the Resort, whether you’re trying to avoid the rain or take a break from the hot sun.

Product review: Will K2 synthetic marijuana get you high?

Last week, The Kansas City Star and metro TV news were brooding over K2, a legal synthetic pot.

It supposedly gives you the same high as marijuana and was legally available for purchase for $15 a bag at shops in Lawrence.

Of course, the cops don't like it. And legislators want to ban it.

But in all this fuss, no one has actually said whether K2 gets you high.

The answer is important because (a) if it doesn't get you stoned, lawmakers have better things to do than pass unnecessary laws to curry political points and (b) you have better things to do than drive around searching for barely legal faux-reefer if it doesn't work.

So in the interest of investigating political intent and protecting consumers, the Pitch Action News Team took a day trip to the Sacred Journey -- a Lawrence botanical store -- bought two bags of K2 and smoked up in the parking lot like a bunch of high school kids getting stoned before first bell.

I'll be protecting the identity of our testers, given the nature of drug hysteria in this country and the long memory of the Internet. I've included their frequency of marijuana use, if any. As for me, yes, I smoked K2, and I'll tag my own thoughts at the end. I consider this a self-inoculation in case getting a job in a PR firm ever does somehow seem like a good idea.

Because K2 is sold in different flavors, grades and prices, and because we wanted to be thorough, we got two different kinds each sold in 3-gram bags. One was the Standard, which cost $15. The other, Blonde, was a citrus blend and cost twice as much as the Standard. K2 looks like potpourri stomped to dust and mixed with confetti, and it smells about the same. We chose the reliable, available-at-every-gas-station Zig Zag rolling papers as our method of conveyence. All we wanted to know was this: "Does K2 really get you high like marijuana does?"
