Right now I made a decision to take my business to the next level.  Growing a business in this economy can be daunting and frightening. To Get Rug or Not To Get Royal Queen Rug

For awhile I've been contemplating getting a new area rug for my living room. The same color. My decor and color scheme is Hollywood black and silver with purple and fuschia accents. So my current rug is purple but tattered from former pets.

Bathing suits celebrate nature --the sun, the ocean and for some, the physique. Together it's a celebration of life. What is a celebration for a fashionista without a flattering, eye-catching bikini! This past Friday, in fashion and body-conscious Miami Beach, eco-sensitive fashionistas can sigh relief and celebrate. Haute Natured was the first annual sustainable swimwear show at last week's Fashion Swim Miami week at the swanky Setai hotel in South Beach.

The 50 foot “walk-on-water” runway at the Setai shone a spotlight on designs made from recycled bottles, upcycled fabrics and repurposed military parachutes but still figure flattering. It's called innovation!

If you were expecting outlandish, well there was a dash of "expect the unexpected" styles. Below is bathing suit entirely crafted with plastics. They are repurposed for this apparel rather than finding its way into a landfill.

We've seen the plastic six pack liners and bottle caps floating in the rivers, oceans and bays. In the first photo, these environmental taboos are reused as decorative hardware and make a statement.

Bold can be beautiful. Designers say eco-couture reflects a lifestyle choice and should appeal to women who, for instance, buy organic food and products. Red Wedding Dress

Peak bridal season is almost upon us. After the Royal Wedding and the watercooler and blogosphere blazing with post wedding fever, I wondered how many soon-to-be brides had decided to be loyal to their original selection, change course and opt for a Kate Middleton replica dress, or risk a slightly more contemporary twist with a splash of color. Yes color.

Like many stories, my impetus were photos of wedding dresses that would not just seal my wedded fate but perhaps trigger a trend in minimal-garment Miami and beyond.

My first discovery was a red wedding dress which sent my heart fluttering. Simply stunning. Is this a flickering sign of trends to come or is it here now perhaps in far away lands?

Former newscast producer and author, Tamara Duricka Johnson, reminded me that going back in time, the wedding dress for the common woman was essentially the finest dress in her closet, usually her best church dress. Upon further research I learned that the white wedding dress did not date back to ancient times but rather in 1840 when Queen Victoria married Albert of Saxe in a white wedding dress which came as a surprise. White was not the symbol of purity, but rather the color blue took that honorary title. White was a symbol of wealth. So once this royal figure changed course with a white dress to pronounce her status, women across Europe and America followed suit. So if you're a successful career woman getting married for the second or third time, then you can reference this historical note and feel confident with your choice.

During Medival times, the more vibrant the colors and the more layers of silk, fur, and velvet, the higher the social standing of the bride. Those of a lower social standing wore fabrics that weren't as rich, though they copied the elegant styles as best they could.

According to industry expert, Ana Chertoff, former editor in chief at royalwedding.aol.com and senior editor at Brides.com, a number of designers showcased dresses in light pink and blush at the April Bridal market. Even Reese Witherspoon wore a pale pink Monique Lhuiller gown in her wedding in March.

"While most brides won't choose a dress in a color other than white or ivory, they will choose a dress that is accented in a color with a sash, beading or embroidery." shares Chertoff. "Ever since Amsale and Vera Wang introduced wedding dresses with a splash of color in the late 90s designers have been adding a pop of color to their wedding dresses, "continues Chertoff.

Fashion style expert, Alexandra Suzanne, offered this ruby red nugget "I was smitten when Alexandra Posen (Zac Posen's sister) wed in a red gown which later was displayed at FIT museum 2005. Since then I have vowed that I too want to be wed in red. Red is also my signature color for my brand because I feel such a strong connection to it. It is a color of power, passion, and love." Alexandra is definitely passionate about color. She once owned an orange audi.

Perhaps the most pleasant discovery in my research is a wedding site that offers pre-owned but stylish wedding dresses by designers such as Vera Wang and Justin Alexander. Introducing PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com.

In doing a quick search based on my size, stunning dresses immediately graced my computer screen.

Priscilla Costa dress

This gorgeous piece of art is designed and hand-made by the young and upcoming Brazilian designer Priscilla Costa in New Jersey with the finest material. The body is made with silk taffeta and the romantic flower tail is made of more than 500 silk organza fuxico flowers each finished with a Swarovski crystal. The original owner had this dress custom-made and paid $4,000. She is selling it for $1,750 plus shipping.

But does this site offer dresses with color? Sure enough a bouquet of colors streamed across the screen. A white with black trim Romona Keveza dress, a blush, strapless mermaid style Vera Wang that appears straight out of a 1930's movie set, and an ivory dress with French blue taffeta sash are proof of the growing trend of use of colors in wedding dresses. Even better, the dresses are available at a fraction of the original cost.

While there are no foreseeable wedding plans in my future, there's always an excuse to wear a formal gown. As chairperson of the Black Cat Gala (to raise awareness for homeless cats), our next theme is romance and thus the color scheme will be black and red. While I should be searching for venues and working on other event logistics, I'm now tempted to search for my red formal dress now! Many sites are marked favorite so I'll be snuggling with my new iPad fantasizing about the dress that will make heads turn.

Wedding Aisle Runner

As a big fan of the ABC program, Shark Tank, I'm always impressed with new, innovative ideas that are introduced. I just learned of this company that produces the only nonslip, aisle runner used primarily in weddings.

Even more interesting is the fact that while most churches and synagogues do not allow runners installed from outside companies, they do in this case because of its nonslip technology.

Take a look at the website. Would you consider it? Indeed they are eye-catching and elevate the event. Hmm, maybe for our next charity event for the Black Cat gala? Hmm, a bit expensive for our tight budget. Prices are from $500 to $670. But I just entered their giveaway contest!

Which Wedding Dress do You Prefer?

Is this a wedding dress or party dress or both?

After the marathon of special reports and new stories surrounding the Royal Wedding, there's much leftover chatter about the dresses. Not just Catherine Middleton's dress but also her sister Filippa (also known as Pippa). Even dress designers like Michelle and Henry Roth for Kleinfold designed a replica dress in 48 hours as featured on Good Morning America. See video below.

So much speculation had fashionistas and wedding designers tied up in knots. First, who was the designer of the much anticipated dress? Many bets were placed on Bruce Oldfield who also designed dresses for the late Princess Diana. Oldfield is renowned as a bastion of British couture and has created dresses for famous fans including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Diana Ross, Emmanuelle Seigner, Taylor Swift, Anjelica Huston, Faye Dunaway, Melanie Griffith, Charlotte Rampling, Jerry Hall, Sienna Miller and Rihanna.

Would you have picked the below dress for Kate? Not me! Too modern for a bride that clearly demonstrated a clever balance between contemporary and traditional British style. In other words, be herself and please the future mother-in-law the Queen!

With the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton soon approaching, perhaps the hat fever has infected you. Have you ever worn hats? Tempted now with the royal buzz? Before you muss and mop your precious locks, here are some tips and photos to give you an idea of what' appropo!

First, hat makers are called milliners in England. Now ladies, if you're wondering who designs Waty Katy's (Catherine Middleton's media- appointed nickname) hats, it's Vivien Sheriff. More on her hats in a moment.

Then you've probably heard the term the "fascinator" which is small headpiece with less coverage than a hat but ideal of holding hair in place during windy conditions. Brilliant! Catherine was sporting one in Scotland and since the engagement, these mostly feathered hairpieces are picking up steam in the U.S. Finally!

Perhaps one of the most well known hat makers and boutique store is Nigel Rayment. He also carries collections from Condici and John Charles of London. Just browsing his website is a breathtaking array of sculpted hats that prompts me to find an excuse or event to purchase and don such high fashion atop my head. But you have to travel to London as hat purchases is like purchasing a bathing suit--the shape, size and color must complement the contours and shape of your head. A great reason to jet set to London.

If you attend Derby's and like to hob-knob with the elitists or play one like Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman", here are some from the milliner (that means hat maker in proper English) Vivien Sheriff, the hat designer for Catherine Middleton.

Alas, if you are not able to travel across the Atlantic for a hat shopping spree and have no desire to take up another hobby such as horse racetracks, then you may want to consider visiting Macy's or Nordstorms for a temperament US style hat for this spring and summer.

It was not obligatory, but some type of hairpiece for the mature woman was more fitting. Since I was in my thirties, not quite a kid in my twenties or more mature like my mother, we both opted to wear a flower piece in our hair. My dress turns out was a cream satin material with hot pink flowers print. Little did I know Spain shared this headwear tradition with their neighbors in the U.K.

Alas, I do have a small collection of hats, dwarfed in comparison by my shoe collection (88 total) and purse collection. Most of the time I wear them during my popular Art Deco Tours.

So in the spirit of fashion and to toast the new royal couple, I will wear a hat this Friday. The question is will I find a new, English milliner hat in time, or wear my all-time favorite black and white wide brim, contemporary Deco hat that I'm sure even the Brits would admire.

Women we are searching for the one. The one solution. No not a man to fulfill our dreams, (you don't need a man for that). But the ultimate coverage of our goddesses--the nipple and her areola ring. As you can see it's like an adhesive tape so it does gather.

Notice the right breast appears bumpy in the photo above and below.

As you can see the product failed and I would not recommend it. Best to buy fitting top with bralets, an additional layer of support and fabric.

My theme this year is action and adventure. Here are some ideas to help Dad feel forever young.

If you live in or visited Miami, relive the second boom of Miami through all its vices with the complete series of Mami Vice on DVD. Then book a trip to Miami Beach...so Dad can continue his fantasy.

Take him on the Ocean Force tour boat ride (info@oceanforceadventures.com) on actual speed boats used by CIA and DEA and tour the Biscayne Bay and see celebrity homes, Stiltsville and hear tall tales of political legends. If the tour is too pricey, take the Art Deco Walking Tour and visit spots where producers filmed regularly and your tour guide will share riveting stories of the Cocaine Cowboys.

If Sonny & Crockett confronted the vices of the Cocaine cartel in Miami Vice, then Scarface is a close encounter of a Cocaine Cowboy who rose to the top but came crashing down. It may be fictional but oh so close to reality. Buy the movie.

I still recommend booking a trip to Miami Beach--it's sizzling hot with hotel deals, topless women at South Beach, and plenty of art and culture to redeem yourself.

If you do plan a visit or live in Miami, then I highly recommend a flight lesson or aerial tour through Miami Fly.
