Of course not. The message is not the same.

The last ten percent is the signal we look for, the way we communicate care and expertise and professionalism. If all you're doing is the standard amount, all you're going to get is the standard compensation. The hard part is the last ten percent, sure, or even the last one percent, but it's the hard part because everyone is busy doing the easy part already.

The secret is to seek out the work that most people believe isn't worth the effort. That's what you get paid for.

via feedproxy.google.com

Posted via web from kwtf's posterous

June First Friday @ KRZYZ photo

Hey All,
Can you believe it's already time for May First Friday? Things have been hectic around here again (not complaining mind you). This month we'll have "FREEZE" by Erick Warner and Travis McElhany. It is the second showing of collaborative paintings between the two artists, working together they traded time on each piece exploring different techniques and approaches. The largely abstract pieces draw inspiration from both organic and man-made materials to unify color, texture and space. For each painting the end result is a unique blend of styles that challenge the senses and never reveals the same thing twice.
It's been a busy month at Krzyz Photo, sort of nice after the crazy winter we've had. I'd like to thanks all my commercial clients who make it possible for me to keep being able to allow artists to show on First Friday … you know who you are! This month we'll be showing the work of Steve Brisendine. To quote Steve,"My last formal art training was in seventh grade (not counting the short photography tutorial at yearbook camp before my senior year in high school). Last year, I got a case of 'Hmmm ...' as in, 'Hmmm, what would happen if I tried painting in only one color?' And so, the One Tube Project was born." Steve also wanted to let everyone know that 20 percent of proceeds will be donated to the Laundry Love Initiative also donation cans will available for quarters.
