			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hair sample drug testing is a great way to detect whether or not a person has used drugs in the past 90 days. Whether in an office format or in the home, hair drug testing serves the purpose of answering questions about an individuals drug use history.</p>
<p>How Does Hair Follicle Drug Testing Work?</p>
<p>Hair drug testing is actually quite simple and merely requires a sample of hair in order to be completed. Parents who are worried about their teens use of drugs can collect a strand of hair from their pillow. Employers can request a sample from their employees. Once a hair sample has been collected, it is sealed in an envelope and sent to a participating laboratory for completion. Hair testing is fast and more accurate than other drug test forms.</p>
<p>For instance, hair sample drug testing can detect drug use for up to 90 days after use. The detection window is much larger in hair drug testing (compare it to few days for urine and saliva based drug testing) because trace amounts of drug chemicals become trapped inside each hair. A simple lab test can detect these trace chemicals making for either a positive or negative test result. Once the results are recorded, you are sent notification of the results. Some companies even provide a phone service where you call in, enter an account number and retrieve the results in that way.</p>
<p>What Kinds of Drugs Can Hair Drug Testing Detect?</p>
<p>Hair sample drug testing can detect all of the major types of drugs, including marijuana, opiates, methamphetamines, PCP, ecstasy, and cocaine. Hair follicle drug testing can detect the trace amounts of illicit substances trapped in the cortex of the hair for up to 90 days after use. <span id="more-330"></span></p>
<p>Employee drug testing programs often incorporate hair follicle drug testing into their plans because of the sheer accuracy of these tests. Even though hair testing is more expensive that a urine drug test kit, for example, they can provide a level of accuracy that is nearly ten times that of other testing methods. Likewise, hair follicle drug testing does not involve the embarrassing collection of samples like that of urine or saliva drug tests. A single strand of hair is all that is needed to obtain accurate results.</p>
<p>Parents can also benefit from hair sample drug testing. Hair testing is discrete and confidential. An individual can be tested without their knowledge, making it so parents can know the truth about their teens drug use first before making accusations. By using hair drug testing in the home, parents can safeguard their teens against drug abuse, and help them quit the abuse should test results come back positive.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Have you ever wondered which cardio exercises are best for burning off extra body fat? Is walking (low intensity) better or running (high intensity) better for burning body fat?</p>
<p>Well, both low and high intensity exercises will help you burn off body fat. The question is which is more effective and burn more body fat. What is your fat burning zone?</p>
<p>When scientists first reported that during intensive exercises, your body burn glycogen, which is a form of stored carbohydrates stored in your liver and muscles for energy and during low intensive exercises, your body burn body fat, everyone suddenly change their workout routines to perform low intensity exercises to burn body fat.</p>
<p>Does it work? Obviously it does not work because there are still so many fat people around although they are working out with low intensity exericies isnt it? Why is that so?</p>
<p>Well, the scientists were right when they said that our bodies burn more body fat during low intensity exercises like walking or a leisurely swim. But during a high intensity exercise like running, our bodies burn a lot more calories. Even if some of the calories burnt are from glycogen, we will still burn many fat calories as well.</p>
<p>To add icing to the cake, when your store of glycogen is low, the carbs from your meal you eat later gets converted into glycogen to fill up the store and will not be converted to body fat when left unused for energy.<br />

Furthermore, high intensity cardio exercises crank up your metabolism even after your workout is done. This means that you body will continue to burn body fat hours after you have left the gym. This effect is almost non existent in low intensity cardio or aerobic workout. Accumulatively, your body burns up many many more calories during and after high intensity cardio exercises than lower intensive ones.</p>
<p>You can inject high intensity exercises to your cardio workout by introducing some interval training. You can walk briskly for 5 minutes, then breaking into a jog for another 5 minutes. Then walking briskly again until you caught your breath and then sprint for a minute before walking again for another minute. From this point, alternate between a sprint and a walk, a minute each and do this for the next 15 minutes and you are done.</p>
<p>Do this for 5 days a week and before long, you will be steadily losing unwanted body fat and weight healthily and naturally.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Have you ever been putting on your makeup and when everything is going well, you suddenly make a mistake that ruins all of your effort? Have you had to take off your makeup some time because, without meaning to, youve ruined your makeup? Surely you have; it happens to all of us.</p>
<p>In this article, you will find five of the most common mistakes and the best tips to quickly fix them without having to take off all of your makeup</p>
<p>We hope youll like them and that theyll help you easily improve your personal image</p>
<p>IVE PUT ON TOO MUCH FOUNDATION<br />
This is a very common mistake that we all make when we put on makeup. If you are totally made up, to take off any excess foundation, do the following:</p>
<p> Lightly moisten a clean sponge with water (the sponge should be almost dry and without any makeup residue) and sponge all of your face with downward movements.</p>
<p>TIP: Its very important, most of all, to avoid excess foundation and concealer around the eyes. To eliminate any excess in this area, perform the same step and afterwards use your fingertips to softly blur the product in that area.</p>
<p>MY EYESHADOW LOOKS TOO DARK</p>
<p>If youve put on too much eyeshadow, or it looks too dark, follow these steps to quickly fix the problem:</p>
<p> If it happened on your upper eyelid, blur the eyeshadow toward the edges with a clean brush to reduce the color. If it still looks very dark, apply a little bit of matte cream eyeshadow with a brush (if you dont have cream eyeshadow, you can use translucent powder) and blur the eyeshadow.</p>
<p> If it happened on the lower part of your eye, use a fine, clean brush to blur, or pat it softly with a Q-tip.</p>
<p> If as you were blurring, youve left the contour of the eyelid and the shadow looks very dark, blur it with a clean sponge and afterwards apply a little bit of foundation, patting lightly to fix the foundation.</p>
<p>IVE PUT ON TOO MUCH BLUSH<br />
If you applied too much blush, try the following tip:</p>
<p> Stroke your cheek with a thick, loose powder bushthe brush should be completely clean. If you still have too much blush on, apply translucent or clear powder with the same brush, just over the blush. That way the two powders should mix, clarifying the original color.<span id="more-326"></span></p>
<p>IVE PUT TOO MUCH MAKEUP ON MY EYEBROWS<br />
When we put too much makeup on our eyebrows, we look harsh and we cant even recognize ourselves. Follow the following tip to quickly solve this:</p>
<p> Simply brush the eyebrow with a clean Q-tip, going against the grain of your eyebrow. You will see how quickly the color you initially applied disappears.</p>
<p>IVE SMEARED MASCARA ON MY EYELID<br />
Thats all right. Just follow these next steps and youll see how you can quickly fix the problem:</p>
<p> Continue applying makeup and when you have finished, allowing enough time for the mascara to dry, apply a Q-tip right over the smudge. Youll see how it quickly disappears and you dont need to remove the makeup from your whole eye.</p>
<p>TIP: A good trick to avoid smudging yourself is applying makeup first to your inferior eyelashes and then to the superior.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Self improvement (or self help) tools come in many shapes and sizes; sometimes its physical in nature (a self help book, having a massage, painting with water colors), or spiritual in nature (flower essences, Reiki, meditation which is both physical and spiritual, etc).</p>
<p>Five of the best self help options that Ive used successfully to help soothe my own mind, body and spirit, are:</p>
<p>1. Meditation techniques  a fabulous self help tool which greatly benefits overall health and wellbeing. There are many techniques to choose from such as:</p>
<p>Visually guided meditations;</p>
<p>Candle meditation;</p>
<p>Breathing meditation;</p>
<p>Crystal meditation;</p>
<p>Writing meditation (alternating using dominant and non-dominant hand);</p>
<p>Walking meditation;</p>
<p>Body scanning; and</p>
<p>A self healing meditation using either color; breathe work; aromatherapy; etc.</p>
<p>2. Painting with water colors, pastels or oil paints  express your uniqueness through art. This is a wonderful self help tool to employ for inner healing, letting go and for creating something new (a masterpiece for your lounge room wall).</p>
<p>3. Vibrational essences. Part of ancient wisdom, vibrational essences are used in healing to assist with the removal of emotional blocks and patterns, as well as resolving issues from past lives.</p>
<p>Essences are generally in liquid form and can also be used in creams, ointments and oils (I sometimes combine mine with an aromatherapy oil blend).</p>
<p>Vibrational substances are derived from light (sun, moon etc), healing energy (universal or spiritual energy, prana, Reiki etc), plants (flowers, stems, leaf etc), mineral (crystals, gold etc), environmental (sacred places), or animal.</p>
<p>Some examples of essences available (there are many) to explore further as a self help tool are:</p>
<p>Flower, Gem, Angel, Shell, Coral, Sea, Goddess, and Chakra essences</p>
<p>4. Journal writing is a fabulous self help healing tool connecting you with your true essence, your spiritual self.</p>
<p>Find yourself a special journal/diary to write in; something special to write with (can be brightly colored inks or the more traditional black, blue or reds) and make a date with yourself to do some journal writing every morning at the same time (before rising out of bed).</p>
<p>Ive practiced journal writing as a self help tool for many years and still find it, to this day, one of the greatest self help and self improvement tools around  and it costs nothing!</p>
<p>Write out your worries, sadness, loneliness, or whatever is playing on your mind. When youve done that write in your journal the excitement, enthusiasm and passion you intend to experience for the day ahead, the projects youre working on, friends youll catch up with, food youll eat, possible miracles that might happen, shopping to be done, your work day etc.</p>
<p>5. Have a massage. Treat yourself to some bodywork like a Swedish massage. Swedish is a more traditional or western soft tissue type of massage, however if youre after something a little more unique for healing mind, body, and spirit you could choose:</p>
<p>Aromatherapy massage  theres nothing quite like this one using essential oils for body, mind and spirit.</p>
<p>Ka Huna, LomiLomi  gentle, relaxing, soothing and stretching massage (even watching this massage is relaxing);</p>
<p>Reflexology  therapeutic hand and foot massage;</p>
<p>Reiki  hands on energy healing (aligns Chakras etc)</p>
<p>Vichy Shower  warm water is directed over your body, gently massaging it (this is heavenly, especially after a salt scrub).</p>
<p>Acupressure  form of bodywork based on Chinese Meridian theory</p>
<p>Ayurvedic  part of a traditional detoxification and rejuvenation program of India called Panchakarma  vigorious massage with warm oils and herbs to remove toxins, is calming and balancing, and facilitates profound inner peace.<br />

Hot stone massage  warm smooth stones are applied to the body and employed by the therapists hands.</p>
<p>A massage not listed that I experienced while ago was a form of Swedish massage. I was given small smooth rocks to hold in either hand, at the end of the massage the therapist held my feet and tuned me, which sounded like a clarinet going up and down the scales. To say I felt relaxed and energised at the same time is an understatement. It was amazing.</p>
<p>Ive road tested many self help tools over the years; its been an amazing journey with the most profound assistance coming from spirit. Sometimes good comes from being blinded by the light.</p>

<p><strong>The power of water.</strong> Oil, they say is thicker than water. But water is the plainest, most natural substance we can use for acne skin care. In washing your face, do it gently. Rubbing and scrubbing your face does not clean the skin gently. For best acne skin care effects, using a mild cleanser or toner once in the morning, noon and evening, and after doing a heavy work out, will help you achieve a clear skin.</p>
<p><strong>Pick that zit.</strong> People who prick pimples and blemishes as if pricking a bubble only aggravates the risk of skin inflammation and acne scars. Avoid hand contact with your face for better acne skin care results.</p>
<p><strong>Shave with care.</strong> Choose the best electric shavers and safety razors you can trust for years. They&#8217;ll be more comfortable to use. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Our hormone health effects our bodies in many ways but one specific way is an increase in weight. Hormonally challenged women gain weight around their middle between the armpits and the top of the thighs. Often their arms are normal, their legs are normal and from the neck up they look great! Hormonally challenged men gain weight around their waists and often are on their way to developing breasts!</p>
<p>Estrogen is produced in our fat cells. Estrogen increases fat cells. As a result more estrogen is produced and so on and so on.</p>
<p>Breaking the Estrogen cycle and then going on an excellent weight management program is exactly what needs to take place.</p>
<p>Step One Evaluate your hormones. Find out the ratio of estrogen to progesterone presently in your body. If out of balance, we call that estrogen dominance, then you will likely have or currently be gaining weight around your middle.</p>
<p>Step Two Begin an estrogen-lowering program. That will include of course increasing your progesterone levels with a bio-identical progesterone cream. But hormone balancing was never all about progesterone. Modulating and balancing estrogens if found to be out of balance to progesterone is equally important to your weight loss program.</p>
<p>An estrogen-lowering program will include:</p>
<p>- Increase your fiber intake. That happens two ways: 1. Eat as much as you can by choosing fruits, vegetables and whole grains as your high ?fiber carbohydrate choices and then add a fiber supplement (Fiber Source 7) to consume 30 to 50 grams of fiber daily.<br />
- Increase the indoles (cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower) in your diet. That also happens two ways: Eat as much as you can and supplement with an indole-3-carbinol supplement (EllagiGuard). Target 3 servings a day.</p>
<p>- Increase the essential fatty acids (EFA?s) in your diet. They are essential because the body does not make them. They help balance prostaglandin production in the body and thus help regulate estrogens.</p>
<p>- Increase your overall nutrition by taking extra vitamin C (Super C Crystals) and by taking a concentrated fruit and vegetable supplement (Fruit and Vegetable Essence).<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A study carried out by the National Taiwan University Hospital and the National Taiwan University, College of Medicine in Taipei, determined that patients with partial bowel obstruction may improve with oral intake of laxatives, acidophilus, and simethicone.</p>
<p>According to some specialists, patients with partial adhesive small-bowel obstruction are usually managed conservatively, receiving intravenous hydration and nothing by mouth. Previous studies have suggested that this approach is associated with longer hospital stays and an increased risk of delayed surgery, as reports Shyr-Chyr Chen, MD, from National Taiwan University Hospital and National Taiwan University College of Medicine in Taipei, and colleagues.<br />
<span id="more-312"></span><br />
From 144 consecutive patients with adhesive partial small-bowel obstruction that was admitted between February 2000 and July 2001, 128 met the inclusion criteria and were randomized to either the intervention group -IV hydration, nasogastric (NG)-tube decompression, and oral therapy with magnesium oxide, Lactobacillus acidophilus, and simethicone- or to the control group (IV hydration, NG-tube decompression, and nothing by mouth).</p>
<p>Most of the patients were men, whose age was 54.4  15.9 years in the control group and 53.9  16.3 years in the intervention group. A 91 per cent of patients in the intervention group and 76 per cent of patients in the control group had successful treatment without surgery.</p>
<p>Oral therapy with magnesium oxide, L. acidophilus and simethicone was effective in hastening the resolution of conservatively treated partial adhesive small-bowel obstruction and shortening the hospital stay,&#8221; the authors write. &#8220;Further trials with larger patient samples are needed to verify the value of oral therapy for partial adhesive small-bowel obstructions observed in this study, the experts report.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many of us make health-related resolutions, such as to lose weight, stop smoking or join the neighborhood health club. While it is common to set high goals, experts say that setting smaller goals could do more for our health.</p>
<p>&#8220;Small steps are achievable and are easier to fit into your daily routine,&#8221; says James O. Hill, Ph.D., Director of the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. &#8220;They are less overwhelming than a big, sudden change.&#8221;</p>
<p>Here are 10 to try:</p>
<p>1. Stop gaining weight. Even if you gain just a pound or two every year, the extra weight adds up quickly.</p>
<p>2. Take more small steps. Use a pedometer to count your daily steps; then add 2,000, the equivalent of one extra mile. Keep adding steps, 1,000 to 2,000 each month or so, until you take 10,000 steps on most days.</p>
<p>3. Eat breakfast. Breakfast eaters tend to weigh less and have better diets overall. For a filling and nutrition-packed breakfast, top Whole Grain Total with fresh fruit slices and low-fat or fat-free milk.</p>
<p>4. Switch three grain servings each day to whole grain. If you&#8217;re like the average American, you eat less than one whole grain serving a day.</p>
<p>5. Have at least one green salad every day. Eating a salad (with low-fat or fat-free dressing) is filling and may help you eat less during the meal. It also counts toward your five daily cups of vegetables and fruits.</p>
<p>6. Trim the fat. Fat has a lot of calories, and calories count. Purchase lean meats, eat poultry without the skin, switch to lower-fat cheeses, use a nonstick pan with only a dab of oil or butter.<br />
<span id="more-310"></span><br />
7. Consider calcium by including two or three daily servings of low-fat or fat-free milk or yogurt. Dairy calcium is good for bones and may also help you lose weight.</p>
<p>8. Downsize. The smaller the bag, bottle or bowl, the less you will eat.</p>
<p>9. Lose just 5 to 10 percent of your current weight. The health benefits are huge-lower blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and triglycerides.</p>
<p>10. Keep track of your eating. Write down what you eat over the next couple of days and look for problem spots. Often, just writing things down can help you eat less.</p>
