Your Music All the Time

Have any of you tried Pandora.com? This site allows you to create your own music stations based on your musical preferences. I find it fascinating! No commercials, no gimmicks. They describe themselves this way:

Where Have I Been?

OK, so I haven't been posting much lately and there are two reasons. One, I have been busy. Lame excuse. But the other reason is that I have started playing with a new toy, Facebook. It is an interesting site where you and your friends share information and play together. What is really interesting is that I have made contact with two people I haven't seen in over 15 years, old work buddies. Very cool!

If you want to see, you will have to create your own Facebook account. And then, look for me...

Oh, and enjoy this ridiculous video about the face of Jesus on the side of a cat. I didn't see it, but I am a heathen.

The Hybrid Squirrel

Here in Palo Alto where I work we have two distinct kinds of squirrels - one that is petite and black, with a very thin scrawny tail. The other is the classic squirrel, with a grey body and a big fluffy tale of grey and red. It was bound to happen, and yes, I have proof that these squirrels have, how shall we say, co-mingled? Shared genes? Were color blind? Showed no bias? So, ladies and gentlemen, I present the next generation of squirrel, the Hybrid!

Hello all!

We are getting ready to move Mom once again, this time to a really nice old hotel that has been converted into senior apartments called Fountain Glen at the Villa. The hotel has quit a history as a hang out for stars in the 50s and 60s - stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Sammy Davis Jr. etc. The walls are hung with great photos of the stars. Read more here. Mom's room, one of the Bogart styles, has two balconies and faces the swimming pool. She said "It isn't the ocean view with the rock I am used to" and I said "I'll throw a large rock into the pool, how about that?" Once a smart ass, always a smart ass!

Anyway, that is all the news I have to report today.

YouTube Award Winners

I am off the the freezing city of Minneapolis, MN for a conference, but I leave you with these amazing and often funny winners of the first YouTube awards. I really liked the Harry Potter puppets, the laughing baby and the sports winner, where a dude skateboards into an empty swimming pool full of blue balloons. Very cool effect! I was fascinated by this site that provides a highly digitized copy of Da Vinci's "The Last Supper". WOW! It is amazing what you can see. If you know about the book The Da Vinci Code, this is fun to play with. If you love art, this is fun to play with.

Here we are, me, Molli, Devin and Brandt - kickin' back watching the tube on a Sunday evening. What a good grandpa (Opa) Brandt has become. For a man who didn't raise any of his own, he is fairly comfortable with these little ones. He and Molli are like peas and carrots already.

The Need to Create

I have a sometimes overwhelming desire to create something - write a poem, think up a new business, do some beading. I recently took a beading class called "Tricks of the Trade" that introduced me to a new technique in beading. You find a photo that inspires you with color and texture, and go from there. I loved the results! If you check out the instructor's page, there is a student gallery. My necklace is under Kathy S. I hope my sister enjoys it - I gave it to her for her birthday.

SO Busy

It has been a while since I have written. Since the last entry, we moved my Mom up here from Los Osos. No small undertaking. While my strong son and wonderful husband made the trip down and loaded her up, I stayed behind with Lisa and the kids. It was a long 48 hours that stirred my memories of raising little ones.

Devin, at just over two weeks old, has gained weight and is over 9 pounds. He is a well mannered infant, but of course, at two weeks it is hard to predict what he will be like in the long run.

Molli is adapting to being the big sister - these photos show her genuine affection for the "burrito" as we call him. She has taken a couple of steps back in her development, but that is expected. She did give up her nuk without prompting - a big step!

Here are Molli and Devin enjoying each other on a Saturday afternoon. Enjoy, and more as I have time.
