Let Your Kids Play and Learn at KIDS PLAY VILLE

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Fri, 09 Oct 2026 05:15:56 +0000

If your kids are spending too much time with gadgets and getting bored at home, it's time to get them busy with fun activities where they could learn too. There's a place called Kids Learning Ville in Little Chinatown at Lucky Chinatown in Manila where you can have them participate in a program called Kids Play Ville. It's specifically made for kids so they could undergo a structured learning program through play, an important part of a child's development.

They learn to interact with other kids and facilitators in a grand indoor playground, a place where your kids could learn even more with the same audience. This way they can hone their skills, discover new ones, and take lessons, so they could be ahead in school. Plus points too because they get to do this with fun, make new friends and enjoy this process.

They've been doing this online in the past but these days, it's better when it's face to face. Visit their social channels (https://www.facebook.com/share/14jvP4Lytys/) or call their numbers if you have inquiries. Better yet, visit them at the Lucky Chinatown Mall to see the facility today!

BARBECUE NIGHT at Wyndham Garden Manila Bay

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Thu, 08 Oct 2026 06:26:16 +0000

Freshly cooked, surf and turf barbecue cravings satisfied!

Journeyed down south for a little dinner with creator friends as we experienced "BARBECUE NIGHT" in Wyndham Garden Manila Bay. I've never been here, and the place is pretty new as they opened last January as part of the Wyndham chain of properties. It's got a noticeable bridge that sits across Nobu COD, and you wouldn't miss it because the name of the hotel is also displayed across it (Roxas Boulevard). If you're a healthy chap, you can go down on the right side and just climb up, else, just take the next u-turn in Seaside Drive if you're coming from Manila.

After alighting my carriage (ha?), we just asked the concierge located at the lobby about the Barbecue Night, they just mentioned it's at the second floor so we took the elevator on the right side and turned left at the pool area. That's where their main dining area is called Garden by the Bay. A stones throw away is their poolside bar called Al Fresco which serves drinks, cocktails and mocktails. We went there for the barbecue and true enough, we could already smell what's cooking!

Seafood, chicken, tuna, salmon and pork skewers were available to consume! Just put it in a plate and hand it over to the good looking chef and wait for it to cook.

Here's a short tour of the food and the place, please enjoy!

I'd gladly suggest you do take advantage of the meat, the pasta, salads and desserts. They've got a pretty mean Crunchy Pork, but I'd suggest you to indulge in the grill area where everything gets prepared ala minute.

According to Chef Andrew Ko who heads the hotel's F&B, this Barbecue Night is open for all, not just those that stay in the hotel. This is done every Fridays and Saturdays, and only costs Php 1288++. Please reserve in advanced (call +63 939 921 1771) so you don't run out of space since it gets packed at times. Service is good, the food is also great. What more can you ask for?

JANE OINEZA and IAN VENERACION Shine in DRUG WAR: A Conspiracy of Silence Finale

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Wed, 07 Oct 2026 13:01:55 +0000

Took the trip to Uptown Mall in BGC to watch the screening for the finale episode of the movie DRUG WAR: A Conspiracy of Silence release by Rein Entertainment and streamed on their YouTube channel every Thursdays.

The episode starts with the onset of corruption and the consequences of being linked to old circles. With money trails being found, and people are being treated like animals, the conspiracy of silencing them didn't really go far. Sergeant Yana (Jane Oineza) and Father Tom Carillo (Ian Veneracion) discovered who the culprit is. The previous cases became clear once the hidden paper trails resurfaced. This starts another round of effort to cover up the crimes when the same people heard them discovering it.

The violence ensued, and those who kept getting caught in the web of becomes running targets. Will they survive this ordeal or will they get the same fate as those who got their demise in this campaign? When will the truth come out? Do they deserve becoming a statistic? Will justice be on their side?

The film teaches us that one incident affects a whole community, those who still fight despite the huge imbalance in power, people still believe that there are folks who would one day stand behind them, be their voice, and will never be forgotten.

Unfortunately, these stories are based on true events. The extra judicial incidents happened, and here's hoping their families never falter, have strength to seek justice til the end. Make sure you watch the series on YouTube at the Rein Entertainment channel.

Play, Learn, Grow with OATSIDE Kids

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Wed, 07 Oct 2026 06:43:24 +0000

Parenting ain't a chore for most that are raising kids the right way. They want them to be well rounded, to not just stare at screens and tablets the whole day, but have ample time to also play outside, talk to other kids and build relationships too.

According to Fred Rogers and Maria Montessori, play is like work for kids. This activity makes them learn things, like socialization, good manners, right conduct, and do simple research. It is also where human intelligence unfolds, form their imagination, and more. Powering them during these times require energy and nutrition that can be found in OATSIDE Kids. Their OATSIDE Kids Original Milk Drink alone has been fortified with calcium, Vitamin D, E, B1, B3, B6, B12 for their bones, muscles, joints, nerves, to get the nourishment they need before they go out and play.

Millennial Moms PH founder Bernadette Zulueta wants to make sure that her daughters would get the right amount of nutrition they need. She also stresses how one should give them ample amount of time for it, and would in turn become important for them as they grow. In the Philippines and clubs, OATSIDE Kids have been trusted by Moms. If you want them equipped before they go out and play, you know what to get off the shelves right?!

ICE SEGUERRA Set to Do Musicals on ICE SINGS!

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Mon, 05 Oct 2026 11:40:50 +0000

Missing Ice Seguerra and his music?! Don't blink as she comes back to the stage for a two night concert at the Music Museum slated November 6 and 7 in Greenhills. It's entitled "ICE SINGS! An Intimate Convert Series: Musical Hits".

He will be doing this together with US based producer Troy Laureta who's worked with the likes of Arianna Grande, Nicole Scherzinger, Justin Bieber among others. As his musical director, Troy will find several theater and film hits that would fit Ice's intimate way of singing songs, so it would feel closer than usual.

Ms. Liza says "This all started over a casual conversation between me and Ice. Defining who he is now is something we could expand. A guitar and huge concerts, it has brought him places and this will bring him to that person who is a storyteller, and one that brings his message across. He wanted to do musicals, standards, and I was lucky to hear him song those who you will never even think he will do on stage, and this is Ice Sings!"

Ice laments "I've always performed with a guitar in tow but I've always had an inkling with musicals ever since. I'd be able to return to that phase and showcase what it means to me now."

Ice adds "In the past, I surrounded myself with singer songwriters and felt inadequate when I didn't sing my own songs on stage. It took a while to have the courage to come out with my own songs, it takes a lot for me to write songs, and I had to be sad. I also know when I put out something it'll be scrutinized. At that time I wasn't prepared for the reaction, but I was able to sing it in public and realized there wasn't any difference, I always give my all to the songs I sing, I was just overthinking. The "Kamusta Ka" single is out, but did it my way, without arrangements at first, I supplied my own story there. When I'm singing, there's this conscious effort to make it mine. Range was also a factor with choosing the songs, so if in doubt, make the guest sing it."

Here's the press conference on video!

Fire and Ice Music is also planning to release songs that are Ice-ified probably next year so stay tuned for that.

These theater pieces will be done with Ice Seguerra's way of doing things. The arrangements will be done with the help of Troy who promises several instrumental moments which means you'll hear it different than usual. This is under Fire and Ice Live Productions of Ms. Liza Diño who's also doing creative direction for it.

Tickets are available via TicketWorld, so go get them before they run out fast!

Puregold Cinepanalo Film Festival Winners Bared: Interview with Character Actor Rani Caldoza

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Mon, 05 Oct 2026 03:17:00 +0000

Some of the winners in the recent Puregold Cinepanalo Film Festival this 2026 Awards Night

After seeing several movies and shorts during the Puregold Cinepanalo Film Festival this 2026, I was looking forward to see if my personal favorites would get the accolades that they deserve come awards night. True enough, both Mono No Aware, JK Labajo, and Shorts Limlim took the major prizes that evening.

Full Length Category

Mono No Aware won Best Picture, Picked by International Jury, Best Director BC Amparado Best Supporting Actress Momoko Kobayashi and Best Actor Juan Karlos Labajo.

Xyriel Manabat won Best Actress for their film Stuck On You. The awarding for that category was epic since they did a pageant like act during the announcement. It was versus Sassa Gurl.

Zanjoe Marudo won Best Supporting Actor for his role of the father in the movie Apol of My Ai. While Zion Cruz took Best Child Performer for the role of the kid in the same movie. He looked like a real life cherub, no joke!

Student Short Films

In the Student Shorts, I watched Set A and felt an inkling to the short film called Limlim because of its unexpected twists and turns. It also talked about a very heavy subject which they wanted to put out into conversation. They also won Best Director tied with the one from Kung Hain, Bisan Diin.

Dark horse Alumahan got the Jury Award and Brand Intrusion. They also got Best Film Poster for the movie. Starfish was called several times as they got Best in Visual Effects, and Best Supporting Actress. I still need to see that. Technical Awards went to When Heaven Inched Towards Earth (Film Promotion), Multwoh for Brand Intrusion, and Alumahan for the same category.

We also got to talk to one of the stars of Kung Hain Bisan Diin and Bum Tak Sara Ti Nuangen, a personal friend, very visible character actor Rani Caldoza who's been in several films in past Cinepanalo entries, commercials and shows. This year, it was doubly hard for the chap since he is doing regional languages as part of the two short films, we asked if that proved a hindrance to do the role since he's not much of a native speaker. He says "Being a part of a film is always a new learning for me. Whether feature-length or a short film, I treat them like vessels that will teach me something. Each film is an opportunity to grow, to learn more about myself. Making them would mean I'd subject myself in a whirlwind of emotions. "Bumtak Sara Ti Nuangen” and “Kun Hain, Bisan Diin” resonated with me because of my roots as a Caldoza. I have family that are Ilocano and Waray. Doing this taught me a lot more than it just being work."

He adds "The Caldoza’s are hailed from Batac, Ilocos Norte and Hindang, Leyte. Solid Ilocano and Waray! I haven't met much of my relatives in Ilocos, this goes the same with my Waray clan. I have not met my Grandparents either from Leyte, but I'd like to change that. It brings me so much pride to me to be a part of these projects. Family milestones remind me how the simple things can turn into memorable experiences. While I still consider myself a newcomer in the film industry, I am trying to learn to recognize every moment as something worthy of being filmed. I am yet to learn, but I cannot wait to tell stories of life, love, and family. There is more to come from Rani Caldoza."

I am so proud of you buddy! I've been seeing him almost everywhere and I'm glad that in a way, we get to work in the same industry and didn't even know it LOL. This is what the Puregold Cinepanalo Film Festival is doing, bringing more opportunities for people in entertainment, behind the camera and recognizing them too. They also have been able to put forward very nice Filipino films and short films and have it available for folks to watch in cinemas, expose them to an entirely different audience every year! Here's hoping for more international accolades for the films this year, because I'm sure, they'll go places!

TV5 Cops 2 Nominations at Asian Television Awards

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Sat, 03 Oct 2026 06:48:25 +0000

Luck and hard work has come upon TV5 lately. The Manila based TV station just got the nod from the Asian Television Awards with their 2 shows namely "A Secret in Prague" starring Enrique Gil and Andrea Brillantes and entertainment show "VIBE+".

This is the first time they have ever gotten nominations from this international institution, and they're glad about how they managed to showcase world class Filipino talent. "A Secret in Prague" is located in the heart of Europe, particularly Czech Republic where most of the scenes were shot. It's a change of usual venues for series that are being shown in the Philippines and other regions. Meanwhile, VIBE+ has been showcasing not just current music performances, but even the classics, those that have surpassed the test of time, even a full pledge concert at times to honor OPM artists, and their music!

This is just the start for the Kapatid Network, and they're planning to put out more content with their homegrown artists. Stay tuned on TV5!

Innovation, Tradition, Diversity and The People of GUIZHOU

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Sat, 03 Oct 2026 03:36:08 +0000

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd end up traveling to China. To tell you honestly, the differences could have all made this not happen, but I was smitten with the thought of meeting their people. This, and a journey to an unfamiliar place that most folks wouldn't define as a tourist destination. Going there with a mission to discover its charm, see the kindness of its people away from the preconceived notions and see its potential, or for what it is when we get there.

We flew via China Southern Airlines from Manila and set forth to Guangzhou then Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport (took over 8 hours + with layovers) which is located in their capital city called Guiyang.

Looked over the window since it was a daytime flight and saw how various structures that looked like factories, condominium units, villages weren't just plain concrete, but filled with intricate Chinese designs, sensibly placed solar panels and a network of river ways transporting goods, people and a behemoth quantity of industrial products they'd be known to carry. Who was I to think they'd be just farmlands, forests and mountain ranges when recent economic onlookers specifically identify them as booming digital data hubs. Guizhou houses data centers from the biggest corporations in the world, as they are blessed with weather conditions apt for cooling them au naturelle, and little to no additional infrastructure they can't handle. Guizhou is filled to the brim with engineering marvels, one of which is the BALINGHE BRIDGE. This was our first destination. (Warning: Picture Heavy Post Ahead!)

The Baling River Bridge

The Baling River Bridge spans a little over 2 kilometers, stands over 370 meters in height.

Seeing this made me ask why they built this in the middle of nowhere. According to locals and our tour guides, China doesn't dole handouts, but built gigantic structures like these to ultimately stimulate economic activity and shorten travel between places like Kunming and Guiyang. It took them a little over 4 years before completing this gigantic project and traffic flowed. They had engineers and manpower which is why they did it quite fast. We walked underneath it and saw the structure, and knew why it was apt for bungee and bridge walks as part of activities. While it isn't still flocked by foreigners, local tourists have frequented this place including the museum underneath one of its towers. This also shortened what could have taken them almost an hour into 4 minutes, hence the remarkable amount of lives changed in Guanling County and the two cities. This structure looks amazing in person, but for a person who is afraid of heights, I'd reckon you to stay somewhere cozy.

The HUANGGUOSHU WATERFALL

The largest waterfall in China and East Asia, people have been talking non stop about this natural wonder frequented by people. This is 77 meters high, over 100 meters wide and found in the city of Anshun in Guizhou. As strong as the current might have seem during our visit, we were told this was actually a water level lower than usual (which means rains would make this a raging body of water, plan to go here during those months). It smelled fresh, enveloped by a forest, and takes a small hike to get there. Before the actual waterfall, you go through several bonsai trees older than you and me displayed plus a few shops to purchase snacks and supplies to make sure you stay fed and hydrated.

You can opt for a full walking route or a 3 tier long escalator to get to the waterfall grounds.

One of the paths lead to a suspension bridge to go behind the waterfalls, raincoats were provided

Going back, you can walk on top of this bridge which also looks like those ancient looking ones in Chinese movies.

A nearer view of Huangguangshu Waterfall, we felt small in front of it. You could feel the mist touch you every now and then.

The name Huangguoshu came from a fruit bearing tree found mostly in this area, a yellow citrus which they encouraged to eat and have as juice. The amount of people here impressed me. There were mostly locals from nearby towns and provinces in China. Not much foreigners, which means they have sufficient population to support tourism in the region. This reminds me how we could turn a lot of our natural wonders into a place with local tourists too, maybe with the proper government help in creating structures that could accommodate local and international visitors. Prepare it even before the influx of tourists come.

The DONG and MIAO Indigenous Ethnic Minority

After alighting the train at Congjiang Station, this is what you'll see outside.

The DONG and MIAO are the more prominent ethnic minority groups found in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou (who also co exist in this prefecture in China). We had to take a few hours of travel via a High Speed Bullet Train from Guiyang North Railway Station to a place called Congjiang County (a little less than 2 hours to get there). It was the fastest thing I've ever rode (seen 230-250 km per hour at one point). We felt transported to kung fu times, as those classic looking temples surfaced once we went out of the Congjiang station. We traveled a bit more to Zhaoxing Hotel to freshen up, have lunch and then proceeded to a tour of the Zhaoxing Dong Village on foot.

I wasn't keen on wearing their traditional garb at first, but heck, I saw one that resembles a cow which was fit for my site KUMAGCOW. Then I realized, nobody knew me in China so I'd be a fool to miss this chance and dance with them. The tour guide was also recognized by their President Xi Jinping, and having her personally teaching us the ways was something I couldn't pass.

This was at the entrance of the village, (fantastic landscape right?) and wearing Dong costumes is highly recommended.

They have rice fields, terraces much like ours.

Pardon the face as I got tired from learning the dance of the Dong people

They fancy silver, prints their history on textile, including pheasants and water buffaloes (carabao) in their designs and outfits. (Group photos by Ed Uy).

Most of the Dong people live in river valleys and lowlands. They have drum towers that resemble pagodas which have village squares to hold events at night. They also have Wind and Rain Bridges where much of their social life happen, including courtship and interaction with others. Some of our press friends from Baguio actually liken their own Igorot/Mountain Province customs to those that are practiced here. Imagine, we're thousands of miles apart but relatively have the same concept happen in different tribes. That made me think a bit, because in life, we're probably looking for our differences... but we're practically, somehow... the same.

At the square, they performed several rituals, song, dance and theater like performances which proved our hunch right. They also did a Kam Grand Song, inviting much of the guests, local or not to sing and dance with them later on in the evening. This was also done over bonfire, as a form of entertainment which we loved too (and they threw candies to sweeten the event, we caught some for personal consumption).

The Drum Tower

Our tour guide even taught us how to make rice cakes from scratch, pounding that took a lot of effort! They added peanut powder to make it good and extra special.

Zhaoxing Dong Village at night

They have clean waterways, bridges and food outlets at the Dong Village

The Miao people on the other hand have roots from the Hmong of Southeast Asia and South China. They live in the mountains, build houses on hills and slopes. If you want to see their story, much of it is imprinted in their clothes adorned with embroidery, threads, and silver jewelry. We drove almost 3 hours to get there. They are also known for their butterfly, bird and water buffalo design. We visited the Langde MIAO Minority Village to see how they live. They also gave a performance at their square which I loved because of the manner they depict courtship back in the day. While the women are in one side of the mountain, they sing like birds chirping, tweeting and the men from the farm would answer back with chants and utilize musical instruments I have never seen before.

We were welcomed with rice wine and a lot of colorfully garbed MIAO people. They also started performing at the main square just a stones throw away from their museum.

Elderly Miao women dressed in intricately designed long skirts with flowers, and silver headdresses

Miao men and women line up then ask audience to participate in their dance going around the pole

Singing in a chorus, the Miao women took their best colorful outfits and danced the morning away

Closeup shot of colorful clothing, silver necklaces and headdress

A lot of people were watching even if we were under the sun, the cool breeze took care of it

Miao elderly men use unique looking wind instruments which reminds me of the Australian didgeridoo

Miao women perform with colorful fabric while singing like birds in a chorus

We've only seen this small town with the Miao people in Guizhou, but there are others in Yunan, Hunan and Sichuan. Their food is also something to appreciate too because despite of not having salt as a condiment in much of their cooking, they've managed a way to utilize chili, do fermentation, use tomatoes for their cooking. While it's different from ours, I have deep appreciation on what they prepared during a ceremonial lunch that afternoon. Long tables are a part of their culture, to welcome guests and just plainly come together as a people. They also taught us the art of Batik, with natural plants, roots, they use wax to create the designs and put it on textile for clothes and artwork. For those at the Langde Miao Minority Village, they are gentle people with much passion to preserve their heritage, their community and family.

Then we went to Kaili City to visit the Quiangdongnan Minority Museum

They explained to us the other ethnic minority groups and taught us where they are located in the province of Guizhou

We met the designer who made Miao themed outfits, she was so kind and talked to us about her work. She conceptualized all the clothes in this shop just at the back of the museum. They also had jewelry.

We went to the Quiangdongnan Minority Museum in the afternoon and marveled at their efforts to explain the differences between all the minority groups. Inside, you can also use equipment showing their different music (which you can hear when you go near it). There's also a high tech monitor which you can stand in front and swipe to wear the various outfit from the minority group you want to be a part of. They also have various things in photos, to explain their rituals and displays of a real deal dragon boat (which I'm sure you are also familiar with).

Going to China this 2026 made me experience the country in a different light. While I've been in Shenzen a couple years ago, this trip wasn't simply about shopping, making a deal, or using sign language to survive. We went deeper to understand their culture, their amazing cuisine, talked to people and connect with them on a different level. I met a lot of kind folks, some that I'd love to regard as friends now. That alone is priceless.

Guizhou looks amazing on paper, in statistics, but even more in real life. While I could say I'm a bit well traveled, I still learned a lot of a country that most people wouldn't go and experience. We all need to stop having preconceived notions especially if we haven't experienced it first hand. I also did this with a few friends in tow, made memories with them while having the time of our lives.

While we have differences, we can't deny that there are similarities. Maybe it's time you go off the beaten path and see why GUIZHOU for what it is. Interesting, progressive, a land of engineering wonders, where you can find your hot bowl of sour fish soup, and the most treasured resource of its charm, the people.

We would like to send our huge thanks to former Senator Nikki Coseteng, the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Associations of the Philippines Foundation Inc., and the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. for organizing our tour to Guizhou. This trip was that good.

Set to Change Lives of Filipino Kids: MUSIKWELA

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Thu, 01 Oct 2026 04:38:00 +0000

Learned that a new show is being launched, it's called MUSIKWELA. This is an early childhood education and entertainment show where they utilize music, performance, puppetry, animation, and do lots of research so it could be easily understood by its target audience, the Filipino kid.

This all stemmed from experiencing it first hand. Ms. Ellen Estrada was fetching her daughter from school and noticed how her classmates weren't that optimistic in using "Po and Opo" in their conversations. This was something alarming because even if she taught her daughter GMRC, her classmates didn't have access to that too. Having a theater and music background, she was inspired to create the "Po and Opo" and "Ang Bagong Alpabetong Filipino" songs. Unknowingly, it was watched millions of times (3.4 and 4.7 Million) mostly by Filipinos. It became a norm for parents and teachers to use it as a medium for education. They realized how music made the experience of learning more enjoyable and uber fun!

They also joined a government initiated child documentary competition in 2023 (via the DokyuBata Festival of the National Council for Children's Television, an attached agency of the Department of Education). They did a documentary called "Ang Bayani at ang Kanyang Sandok" which teaches nationalism and love for one's country. This started the ball rolling for MUSIKWELA.

Image from their website musikwela.com

She harnessed the talent of her daughter Yumi Sansano to lead the show including a throng of folks called MUSIKSCOUTS (Ate Yumi, Potpot, Biboy, and Lala who were a pretty bunch!). She's no ordinary kid because she won awards in WCOPA as champ for Opera in the Juniors Division. She also did Artsy Craftsy in PTV4 a couple years back and have gotten audiences left and right, including the President of the Philippines.

We watched them perform during this event and I could liken them to Sesame Street, Sineskwela, Batibot among others. Knowing there's a huge educational crisis in the Philippines, I felt so happy that kids would have a place to learn how to respect the elderly, how to protect nature, hone their talents, what to do in case of emergencies, and care for Mother Nature in their first few episodes. Ms. Ellen also shared how they are planning to do more in the coming months, plus delve into other subjects (like reading, writing or math). I personally know some kids finish school without learning how to, and I'm hopeful this could address that (even if it doesn't entirely solve it!). Check out the event on video here:

You cannot discount the fact that it has done remarkably well for the 90's kids on why we're street and a little smart, we learned from shows like these albeit unconsciously. This is something that I'd like to happen in this generation too, and perhaps the next ones included. I wept for the shows that went off the air in the past because it has disenfranchised a lot of kids who could have learned from it. They need our help and hopefully, they get the resources to continue this. Currently, thanks to the people who are helping them and sponsors (Victoria Sports Cinema, Ceelin Gummies, Ceelin Immunped, Appebon, Allerkid, White Rabbit Philippines, Wildfire Inc., Shop N Play, Kontrata.PH) that they get to do this with passion. Imagine how many kids would learn from what they do, if millions more would consume their content on FB, their website and YouTube (so go and sub!). We'd have educated kids going out of our homes and schools, wouldn't that be a sight to behold?!

The first episode will come out on November 11 6PM GMT and will talk about GRANDPARENT's DAY. They will release future episodes on a bi monthly period, so sub to make sure your kids could watch it! I'd like to take this bit and congratulate Ms. Ellen on her efforts, and hope you won't get tired of your passions. Here's hoping a lot of people could help you even more with your future projects!

Travel Tax and Lighthearted Talk with Mark Lapid

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Tue, 29 Sep 2026 06:33:31 +0000

Got to talk to current TIEZA Head Mark Lapid and began our conversation about Travel Tax and funding. The Travel Tax on their end goes to infrastructure support for different spots in the country. He also mentioned the difference between them and the DOT. Their different mandate and roles in building hospitals, fixing airports with CAAP, terminals, wheelchair access, monitoring systems, conveyor belts, esplanade, boardwalks, lighting are just some of their duties. These are submitted by local government units and their board, in many places he mentioned in the interview.

He also talked about how his family still comes first, next is public service and showbiz. He treats showbiz as part of his passions, while politics affects so many people. The infrastructure gap in airports is huge compared to neighbouring Southeast Asian countries. They're doing a revamp and want all other domestic airports capable to land bigger airplanes and have those other airline companies to land directly in the provinces so they don't get congested in NAIA.

He also talked to us about his relationship with his Dad becoming his number 1 critic and supporter. He also said how close they are with Coco Martin who they had the pleasure to work together in different Coco Martin led series, just to help since they have experience with it.

They've done this for several years and enjoy it. Imagine, they wanted this to be a 2 week guesting and they were there for almost a decade. He says "It's the art of "pakikipagkapwa tao". When we came back to the set, we were surprised about the big improvements, in the past you can't have a second take because of expenses. The digital era was freeing. I think I only feel better because of my wife (about his looks and health). We also want to lower taxes in cinema and encourage more creatives to release movies and make the public go back and watch in cinemas. I am against AI use, but if it's dangerous stunts, maybe we can consider but not to the detriment of production workers that can do a better job at it. We want to support it."

Mark Lapid reiterated that services their office implement to improve infrastructure needs to come from somewhere. Since the government still has no funds allocated for the TIEZA, they might ask for an extension for the Travel Tax until it gets funding somewhere else. There are people and the public that do benefit from their work, and it is essential to make sure the infrastructure gets maintained and managed well.

Very Interesting Regional SHORT FILMS Showcased at Puregold Cinepanalo Film Festival

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Sun, 27 Sep 2026 05:22:57 +0000

Spent the whole day at Gateway Mall Cinemas to see Shorts set C and a few full length films.

Regional films were in Shorts C. First one was called Pulis Dunggab. It is about street games, family, and the choices we make in life. Set in rural Cebu, it was all fine and dandy til something happened that would change their lives forever. Good overall, especially since it tackled social issues.

The second film was called The Sound of K. It was about being differently abled and the struggles they go through everyday life. Speech, which normally would be just mimicked by any person becomes a huge difficult task for the character, among other things. A bit tragic to see but, I saw how people could learn from these scenes. It was excellently executed.

Third film NAKABINBIN talks about the pains people go through to get public service. The red tape, the difficulties we face just to bury a loved one, something that happens everyday... to ordinary people, and still happens today. It looked and felt painful, As always, Soliman Cruz showed depth, and carried this shirt film from start to end. Grabe!

The 4th one is called NANG MATAKASAN ANG TAGAY, a family drama of an OFW father and his son. His love was shown raw, and the film had pretty good premise. You might cry with the touching end. Heartwarming, and has an LGBT story line.

I like the variety seen in Short Films seen at the Puregold Cinepanalo Film Festival, you should watch them in Gateway and Ayala Malls. They've got the list of nominees out on the Puregold FB page. I'll post later!

That Cute Movie "APOL of my AI " at PUREGOLD Cinepanalo Film Festival

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Sat, 26 Sep 2026 10:14:59 +0000

Spent the afternoon at Gateway Mall cinemas to watch a full length film called Apol of my AI. Aileen Mercedes Is a substitute teacher who arrived in a school because Apol's original teacher had to bear her child. This film is not just a coming of age, but mostly the struggles of a Father who wasn't present all throughout his childhood, but couldn't earn enough to make a living in the Philippines.

His story is just like thousands of OFW's who want to make sure that the future of their kids , sacrificing time with them, and maybe, not being able to know them on a personal level.

The story is cute, Zion Cruz looks like a real life cherub, and can act to boot. It's so nice to see him fall in love, be like a child, sing and also enjoy life. He also has a very complicated relationship with his Dad, and it'll show on screen if you watch it.

I'd laud this film for its love for classic Filipino music and how it intertwines with the story. Maybe music could become a medium to repair their ties, especially since his father was a musician in cruise ships, since he needs to be at his best and impress his teacher.

Who knows, Zanjoe might bag an acting award (though I think he might have had an advantage at parenting because he just had a baby!). The film also felt complete, you feel lighthearted as he tries to be the man he wishes to be. The Puregold Cinepanalo Film Festival is still going on at Gateway Mall and Ayala Malls, go get tickets and win grocery items after watching (while supplies last). Theaters are packed , so go early!

GO LOSE POUNDS The MARIE FRANCE Way!

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Sat, 26 Sep 2026 09:32:56 +0000

Go Lose Pounds (GLP) is the newest Marie France call as they build programs for you to lose weight, the Marie France Way. They make you feel good, look good and be well. With trusted information, guidance, you are going to be able to get to your goals, only if you qualify for their new GLP's. To start the conversation, they did a program at the halls of Manila Peninsula.

Marie France understands that every journey, every body is different, but they'll be with you every step of the way. They had us try machines and treatments of Marie France to the hotel, which a lot of people tried.

Dr. Erick Mendoza an Endocrinologist talked about weight loss. He mentioned how much it is apt to make it holistic, and of course sustain it. He says it's s not just eating less, moving more than solves things. We need to understand that weight gain is not a failure of will power, it's biology, genetics, stress, medications and medical conditions. There are a lot of reasons for obesity, it's not just because you are lazy, weak or being a failure. We need to understand obesity better, as we are now equipped with more strategies beyond just the scale. Insulin resistance, bp, sugar, cholesterol, of which are silent killers. He added how one should understand the person's medical history, a multidisciplinary approach like what Marie France does, of which we gain back strength, mobility and independence. He also mentions how it should be individualized, and progress takes time.

He reveals GLP 1 is revolutionizing weight management. That it responds to therapy, but it is a tool and not the sole way to lose weight. It also works well with guidance. Your target weight is not the finish line, but continued self care, physical and mental wellness too. You can do it with Marie France.

They also had several people take the GLP treatment and eventually got to their goals,.but the difference is, they trusted Marie France is the place to do it. Weight loss means muscle loss also, and some of them had sagging, Marie France had them try treatments to stop that from happening. It's why guided treatment is a must. It is necessary. While GLP-1 is not for everyone, Marie France can design something for you. Backed by medical science, you can't do it wrong with them.

Remember, pogress is not just a number in the weighing scale, it's the small wins that do.

Rosanna Roces' Colorful Past Revealed in Maddox Jewelry Visit

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Sat, 26 Sep 2026 06:05:38 +0000

Known for being a feisty, experienced and gorgeous actress til today, Rosanna Roces' name still resonates to every Juan. Her stints in shows, series on TV and film made a mark and her personality shines when she talks, it can get as real as it can get.

She was trying to look for a place when she saw the Maddox Jewelry shop in Marikina City. Because she loves jewelry so much, she ended up going in and buying a few pieces, then met the equally beautiful owner Ms. Charo Cordial.

Their conversation became very personal and went to her traumatic past, she found out she was given up for adoption for a mere Php 4,500. She only found out when she was already 15 after seeing a contract with the name of her biological mother in it. Admittedly, she got hurt but said she will always treat her adoptive mother her real one, someone she looked up to ever since. She also talked about her rift with comedy queen Ai-ai delas Alas whom she treated as a good friend, but ended up fighting over small things, then a half baked apology which even worsened the case.

It all changed when they had to appear in one show. She went in to Ai-ai's dressing room one day and didn't even think about drama or confrontation. They immediately laughed it off like nothing happened. Imagine, they didn't talk to each other for 20 years and it all ended in one day. That's when they figured how time heals all wounds.

Rosanna was so openly talking about very serious stuff while at the store with Ms. Charo Cordial. It's why she is loves by the masses, so if you love stories like these go follow Maddox Jewelry on Facebook, TikTok and their YouTube channel where she uploads more of these interviews. Just search for Maddox Jewelry on these platforms.

Some Reasons to Watch BEAST at Puregold Cinepanalo Film Festival

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Fri, 25 Sep 2026 11:38:54 +0000

Just got out of Gateway Mall Cinema 18 after watching the film BEAST starring prime actor John Arcilla. It's a full length film dressed as a fable as much of the dialogue spin on farm animals that talk of love, relationships, and the struggles of raising a family in the countryside (at first).

Agriculture might have been the industry that the Philippines is known for, but in reality, a lot of it has been delegated to real estate or urban development. They also talked about the struggle with the next generation who would rather have other money making jobs than tilling the soil and break their backs every planting/harvest season. People to crazy with these issues, which is discussed in the beginning of this film.

John plays a farmer called Omeng, one who spent years working in the fields. He gets news of it being sold, and deeply hurt in the process. The farm animals suddenly made him Dr. Doolittle-ish after being told to leave by his relatives. If it's AI or not (that Carabao), they did good technically in making it speak. I also loved how their conversations went, including the human-like words they used, sometimes funny and essential in bringing forth the emotions they wanted to give.

They discussed the importance of family ties, the beastly decisions they make in life. The film is also a lengthy journey (he did it from farm to the city), where he'll meet different people. It's also interesting because it'll show how their lives are intertwined (albeit being physically apart), fate always has a different way of doing things and yes, the adventures, the fun and drama included.

This film feels good til the mid part, made me feel both happy and sad in the end. That's something you need to see and watch in cinemas since Puregold Cinepanalo Film Festival is still on (schedule available on Puregold FB Page).

Go to Gateway Cineplex and Ayala Mall Cinemas where short films and full length ones are being screened. I don't really need to sell something that John Arcilla does. Just him in the billing means you have to see it.

The Importance of SHORT FILMS Showcased on Puregold Cinepanalo Film Festival

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Fri, 25 Sep 2026 00:38:43 +0000

While there was a GREAT choice of full films in the Puregold Cinepanalo Film Festival this year, they got the short films into a package so you could watch several of it in one go. I got to see SHORTS A, and it was so good because the choices were awesome, from horror, sci Fi, documentary type, family, regional, they got the best ones in every story!

Here's a Quick Review:

Starfish - Man named Boyet does adult work in the city, but went home to the province after getting fired. His life is hard, even his sister, both brought up in an abusive home.It also talks about politics, boys love, gore, and pain. Much of it is symbolic, mirrors society.

Kung Hain Bisan Din - Main character is about to get married, story is about severed relationships with family. It is also deeply rooted in Waraynon dialect, She gets showcased in different camera angles, and wanting to become part of one of the most important events in her life. Felt bittersweet.

KANIBAL - This talks about politics, the family, set in a busy market. I like how they did it in Ilonggo/Hiligaynon. A bit weird. Character was for progress, until she personally gets affected. This is more on societal and political problems, and the hardships that most middle class go through.I liked the super unusual ending.

Sa mga Nagdaan at Lumipas - The film talks about LGBT struggles, the leftist groups, poor and underprivileged. It also talks about youth, music, and women. It has lengthy dialogue, needed to establish their view and a sense of being activists. It's also about Lesbians, and their colorful world. Sensible talk about love and relationships. Actress did so good on slow subtle scenes.

LIMLIM - The movie talks about child abuse and early pregnancy. Scary to discuss something like it in cinema.so that alone is brave. It's a slow burn, and very quietly told. Actors were also good. Child should get recognition. My personal favorite.

Shorts would be hard to reach especially because of their length and production value. Puregold took a RISK and chose a lot and have them be seen in a theater, it as worth it. Congratulations to Sir Chris Cahilig, the Festival Director who took these wonderfully made short films and have them connected to the audience. I hope this becomes a great start for these young creators, production, who wants to be seen. They did their job and I'm so happy to have seen all their work, I felt the future looks bright for Philippine cinema.

They're still showing in theaters and they are being filled to the brim as we speak, make sure you do your part by seeing them in Gateway Mall or Ayala Malls, you would be impressed and I'm not joking.

Atty. TONY LA VIÑA Sets Records Straight for Senator Loren Legarda and Representative Leandro Leviste

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Thu, 24 Sep 2026 23:38:01 +0000

While information seem so murky and lacking these days, the heavy hitting Atty. Tony La Viña is setting the record straight for Senator Loren Legarda and Congressman Leandro Leviste. While the mother and son is abroad taking medical treatment, the lawyer, environmentalist, human rights advocate and academic lead wanted to set the record straight for them in the Philippines.

Atty. Tony La Vina says "This is a very important topic and it's good that we can tell the truth because there's a lot of misinformation and things that are being misunderstood about Senator Loren Legarda and Representative Leandro Leviste. I'll start with the headlines then you can ask about it, but first, there's been no government funds used in any of the projects that they say they benefited from. This should be clear for us. The Solar ng Bayan franchise that was given by congress that was non exclusive, so in other words it's not Leandro's franchise. It wasn't implemented because of the government office, the DOE didn't release a place where it will be implemented, nor rules and regulation for it. It was de facto revoked because it wasn't implemented."

He also reiterated that claims of Ghost Electricity is unfounded because it was never implemented or generated. He also mentions that the renewable energy service contracts only involve private investments and no monopolies as Leviste only held a small percentage of the total contracts. The financial obligations (accusations of 24/10 billion) were issued to a different company and not to Leviste.

Here's his statement on video:

Atty. Tony La Vina also said that he accepted this case because of his opposition to political persecution and violations in due process, saying both the Senator and the representative didn't commit corrupt acts. He also says there's no outstanding financial obligations in the billions, and no involvement of the Senator but just a mother without any role in her sons business.

He is here to ensure they get justice. Atty. La Vina also mentions that the Senator will issue a statement in the right time, and is convinced there should be no standing legal case against them.

(His statement is in Filipino, for direct translation, please refer to video. This was done with brevity. Thanks!)

NYX Opus Opens Doors Today

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Thu, 24 Sep 2026 06:54:21 +0000

If you are obsessed with dining with friends and family, there's a new NYX branch that opened at Opus Mall in Quezon City. I've had the pleasure of experiencing NYX at their first one in One Ayala, but this one in Opus is something else.

Located at the mall's 3rd Floor, this intricately designed restaurant (thanks to Headroom for the concept) was something so impressive, I'd liken it to modern upscale spots in LA, Chicago or New York. What's different about this buffet place is that they also employ technology on every table, as you'd be able to order via QR several dishes a la carte without going around the restaurant. This appeals to a lot of folks who not only want to enjoy the ambiance, but the premium service that comes with it. My drinks and learning curve was answered by the eager server, which you'll find amazing as soon as you take your seat.

On the menu, I ordered several servings of Wagyu steak slices, Truffle Cream Sauce, then walked for their Moroccan Salmon, Lamb Kofta, Chicken Turkish Kebab, Seaweed and Kimchi Butter and my personal favorite, the Slow Roasted Pork Belly. That last one was actually made of dreams, and I'm not even joking. Imagine soft meat chunks, layers of fat, and the skin CRUNCH that could reach and be heard by the next table. I'd go back just for that.

Here's a quick tour of NYX OPUS so you could see why it's all worth dining there:

They also have a separate Premium Menu which they have available on special occasions (today was one of them so I did! Priced separately.)

The Menu via QR was fast and convenient, I didn't need to stand up to get food, I just waited for the 10 dishes I ordered on my table. They were amazing especially the Wagyu Beef Plate.

Duck, Wagyu and Truffle Dumplings. Didn't I tell you? It was amazing!

This is just the tip of the iceberg, because apart from the good food, they have wine, yogurt drinks, cocktails and just about anything you can imagine. Go visit them today at the 3F of OPUS MALL in Quezon City. It sits beside the Bridgetown property and a little drive exceeding Eastwood City. The mall is also so posh, I loved it there.

Would you take the drive to get to NYX Opus? I would!

Author Darwin Mariano Talks About NAMWARAN and the Golden Tara

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Sun, 13 Sep 2026 23:55:37 +0000

After being launched at the Manila International Book.Fair, they did a showcase at the National Museum of Anthropology in Manila as they launched a novel by Atty. Darwin De Jesus Mariano entitled NAMWARAN and the Golden Tara.

This story reminds us the importance of heritage, history and the connections they have with each other. It tells the story of a diverse people, like a museum to bridge the gap between us and the artifacts we had at bay. This can affect you and me, a generation who can be proud of their past and national identity.

While this may be fiction, it mirrors the Filipino. It helps us understand the community that lived before us and how early society was done. Having this be shared to new folks would make them understand and be inspired with stories.

Atty. Mariano says "In the late 90's and 00"s, we started a group , a community of museum advocates. Life got in the way, but during those times, I saw dream weaving, bronze plates, it filled my fascination, things I didn't learn in school. I took notes, and felt it could make a good story. I couldn't write, didn't want to, but since I'm 50, we made it into a comic of sorts, then life happened again, then wrote the novel myself. I did a few hundred pages, told a story from this region of the world. I hope the book makes you feel there is so much to us, that we can be more connected, more than we could ever know."

He read to us a part of the first chapter, and it was excellently described, he was very intricate in introducing the characters. Here's the press conference on video:

NAMWARAN and the Golden Tara is available in leading bookstores, also in Centralbooks which has branches in QC, Makati, Cebu, Manila and Davao.

Orange Magazine PH Forges Juicy Partnership with LAKBAY Magazine

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Sat, 12 Sep 2026 00:30:12 +0000

Two entities, one known for Publishing, Travel, Government and Business while the other delves into Lifestyle, Brands, Entertainment and everything Online. Orange Magazine PH is taking a leap into having their work published in well known LAKBAY Magazine (and vice versa).

Orange Magazine PH and I go way back, not that I've worked there because this site is older. They're currently celebrating their 17th year and wanted publishing to happen. It's tangible, the stories are forever, not seasonal or plain trendy. Here's some of the things we talked about during the signing ceremony at the SAVEA Bay City Manila Hotel in Paranaque City.

There wasn't much convincing involved, just good old recognition that they could benefit from this partnership. Lakbay Magazine has been distributed in various corporate settings, airports, local and international spots. Orange Magazine PH's online presence is huge, always in the hottest events and brand launches, including celebrities that mirrors what's happening in the country. These folks obviously know what they're doing, and with each others expertise they could help each other grow. While these may be a phase, they're quite eager to put their content on print and online, something Jeman Villanueva (who owns Orange Magazine PH) always dreamed of. This is a very promising start, and Lakbay Magazine will take charge on Travel content while Team Orange will concentrate on Lifestyle, like a working marriage.

Honestly, I'm super happy for them. They get to help each other reach more people.

Some of their supporters like Tai Chi (a cool stick and liniment brand) gave folks massages and loot bags with Guyasteen Coffee and Kuchi Kuchi Cooling Powder in them, and SAVEA Bay City (who's pretty new) actually helped them with the event and made things happen. I can't wait to see the actual printed magazine be done in a few moons. They're also testing the waters so if you're keen to support them, this is the right time to actually do it. Message Lakbay Magazine if you want copies as they do give these away for FREE. If you're interested to be part of it, contact them there as well.

I'd like to take this bit to congratulate both LAKBAY Magazine and Orange Magazine PH for the wonderful work they're about to embark on. Thanks for including us on your special day!

SHUVEE ETRATA and ANTHONY CONSTANTINO Star on "From VLOG to LOVE"

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Fri, 11 Sep 2026 07:40:37 +0000

We've been seeing them before and after the highly successful PBB Celebrity Collab Edition, and yes, they look so good together that people have asked, when can they have their own project? Fret not because here it is, it's called "From VLOG to LOVE" which will be shown every Friday and Saturday, 7PM via the GMA Network YouTube channel.

This is a mini series, a formulated romantic comedy where a goody two shoes provincial maiden got the interest of a visiting Filipino American lad who's got a naughty plan in place (oh maybe it ain't love!).

The cast includes Sparkle stars Caitlyn Stave, Kiel Gueco, Christian Antolin, Marnie Lapus, Che Cosio, and veteran actress Ruby Ruiz. This is a mix of laughter and love for those who are looking for a kilig fix, so make sure you see once it comes out. This is set in 2026, so aside from the romance, there will be complications on how this will all play in the age of social media, the internet and reel or real relationships.

Make sure you follow their story because who knows! This might just be the start of something good.

GARY VALENCIANO "Back at the Museum" This October

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Thu, 10 Sep 2026 23:35:06 +0000

I distinctly remember the first time I got to watch Gary Valenciano LIVE. I turned quiet, jaw dropped, and didn't make sense when he started dancing. People lost it, I lost it, because the man just showed how God given his talent is.

The Music Museum was full to the brim, and this October, he's going back there to do "Back At The Museum" which is a 10 night concert where he could bring the same quality of music, high energy dance and his story of triumph in the industry. This will all happen on October 1,3,8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 and 31st. That's every Thursday and Saturday of October, part of the celebration of Manila Genesis Entertainment and Management Incorporated's 40th year in the business. The location is significant for Mr. Pure Energy as he's officially done over 103 shows here. It's very intimate as the audience sits very near, you can feel him talk, feel the wind when he moves and dances, which is why it's so apt to do it in this venue.

Pure Energy One Last Time

They plan to have this as a documentary and show on streaming platforms, possibly next year and have it be included in festivals. This will have his story embedded in it, his music, and the love he poured into his career over the years.

Gary adds "My dream was to have a one-day showing in a theater or a limited run but wherein I will personally invite people to come and see it. And in one showing, one day, a time slot where I want people from the entertainment industry, the media to come and see it. And it will only be you guys. So it will be a full theater of people who know me enough because you've known me for years. I'm really hoping that can happen!"

That's 10 shows this coming month, and he adores how the new generation still appreciates his music. He hopes they too get fueled with the same fire and passion to help OPM flourish, reach audiences beyond our shores and be felt by audiences today. He also plans to do a tour of this sort in other parts of the Philippines, visit educational institutions too. Here's hoping folks could experience what we've seen in his concerts and not do mobile phone recording all the time. In the concert, you will get to experience looking all over the venue, which he promises to try new things (a huge hint!).

The concert will be directed by his son Paolo Valenciano, and will be musically directed by Mon Faustino. His special guest include Frankie Pangilinan who's recently been doing good in music. This is for the benefit of Shining Light Foundation. You may get tickets via premier.TICKETWORLD.com. Email tickets@ticketek.com.ph or tickets@manilagenesis.com.ph or their number 0999 954 5922/0917 550 6997 all up to you!

Kolette Madelo, Jude Hinumdum, Meann Espinosa, Dingdong Bahan, Jarren Garcia and Nikki Valdez for The Art of Breaking Up

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Tue, 08 Sep 2026 16:15:38 +0000

The Art of Breaking Up will have a run at the PETA Theater on November 6 to December 6, 2026. Star Magic Spotlight will be pointed to Kolette Madelo, Jude Hinumdum, Meann Espinosa, Dingdong Bahan, Jarren Garcia and Nikki Valdez as they talk about their work on stage.

This is the handy work of George de Jesus and directed by Dudz Teraña, a part of Teatro Kapamilya and PETA. This is Nikki Valdez's first straight play, and not doing a musical is quite comfy. Meanne talked about she initially didn't want to do acting, but ended up in a role even if she was too frank for comfort. Dingdong on the other hand is also from PBB, then did a few series on TV and landed roles which he found weird initially. Jarren felt the previous videos shown during the event made him feel nervous, like he's "being evicted again" he kids. Jude joked about the purple eye shadows, the Tabing Ilog the musical, dulaang UP and TV shows during the HIGH STREET days. He feels blessed and happy, he's a funny chap.

In a nutshell, it's about love, breaking up and finding love again. It's also about a web of characters, only a few vocalists will be featured and it's mostly talk. Songs would be in the background to make sure the feel of it would be front and center.

The play is interesting, so if you're itching to watch it, go see it at the PETA Theater on that run. Go get tickets via Ticketnet and watch it then! Thanks to Star Magic Spotlight we got to know them better!

Benedix Ramos, Omar Udin, Angela Ken on STAR MAGIC Spotlight

noreply@blogger.com (John Bueno) — Tue, 08 Sep 2026 16:02:31 +0000

Performers by heart, we talked to Benedix Ramos, Omar Udin and Angela Ken this afternoon.

Omar says "It feels just like yesterday, that's where it all started, my love for performing and music. It humbles me to see that. Reviews of The Notebook the musical made people remember their own parents, where we sing what we feel. It is special but couldn't figure out the words and memories, we had to stay present."

Benedix says "I almost cried seeing those milestones, but I haven't wrapped my head in front of the camera, but I dreamed of doing this, the best that I can. I am grateful to be part of Star Magic. We are doing The Notebook, the musical based on the book. Recently, I feel it was like different phases of my life. It might be a love story, but it is a kind of love and the hope that true love exists. A lot of people know Ali and Noah, but since this is a musical, it's going to be very different.

I've seen Angela Ken during an event, and I must say her music is different. She says "I realized how much 6 years have gone, as artists, it feels humbling to see that."

They talked lengthy about the musical which is still being staged today. They have veterans, and are proud about recent reviews of it. Each character has a purpose, while they talk about the story, who to give the notebook to, I guess that spoiled things LOL.

Angela will be having a concert of her own. It's called Panahon Na Natin, after her busking tour, and an EP, people have been loving her continuously and watched her on stage. It will be filled with her originals, and new songs, plus a release of new single Tayo Lang which she wrote when she was 18. She's pretty nervous but really excited too.

Here's more of the Mediacon on video:

They've got bright futures ahead of them but. supporting them during their stint in The Notebook and their respective concerts would be great, this is going to be good!
