The Donate a Bed Program allows people to send beds directly to a dog in their favorite shelter or rescue organization at a special discount. The donation can be sent in your own name, or as a gift in the name of a pet lover or family member and a personalized gift acknowledgment card will be mailed directly to them.

The public has embraced the Donate a Bed Program which is providing thousands of beds to shelter pets across the nation and we are hoping this Holiday Season the public will be especially kind in remembering how much of difference they can make for even one dog who for the most part spends 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on a cold, wet concrete floor. “The Program is a Win-Win-Win” says Carol Grandmougin, Director of Humane Programs for Kuranda. She says “the Dogs love the comfort of the beds, the Staff appreciates the dog’s opportunity to relax, and the Public is impressed with the high level of care provided for the dogs.”

To make a donation to your local Shelter or Rescue Group, log onto their website and look for their link requesting the donation of a Kuranda Dog Bed. The rest is easy. You will be shown a selection of the bed or beds that they need. All you will have to do is choose the bed you would like donated and it will be automatically sent to their address with a note telling them of your donation.

Dogs by nature do not like to eliminate where they sleep, so providing a raised bed where they live 24 hours a day makes life nicer for them. With more dogs staying a longer time in shelters than ever before, they really deserve the comfort these beds provide. Raised Kuranda beds make a big difference during their stay; dogs are less stressed by having their own comfortable bed making them more adoptable.

“THANK YOU!!! Kuranda beds have truly made a difference in the comfort of our dogs.

Dear Kuranda Dog Bed customer,

We would like to thank you for using Kuranda beds; we love receiving all the great feedback and photographs of your dogs enjoying their beds!

We are writing to let you know that we have extended our normal One Year Warranty coverage on the PVC corners to 18 months in light of a breakage issue we learned about last spring. After trying two different compounds and doing numerous tests, almost by accident we found that the culprit was the pigment we were using was causing the plastic to weaken over time. Since changing pigment suppliers and switching to a very robust PVC compound in March of this year, corner breakage has dropped to almost zero. We believe this problem is virtually solved as our stress tests show that the combination of plastic and pigment we are using now is both strong and flexible which is what is needed for our corners to hold up to the most rambunctious dogs.

If you have corner breakage beyond the 18 month guarantee please contact us and we will work with you to make sure you are satisfied.

Sincerely,

GLEN BURNIE, MD The image of cold dogs, lying on a hard, often wet cement floor paints a bleak picture of life in an animal shelter. That is not the case for the dogs residing at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah! The Kuranda Dog Bed Company created a Donate a Bed Program which has enabled individuals to donate comfortable, off the floor beds to the dogs and cats at Best Friends. This Program enables individuals to send beds at a discounted price directly to the sanctuary in the donor’s name, or as a gift in someone else’s name. Best Friends is immediately notified that a bed is on the way!

Kuranda USA is a small manufacturing company established in 1987 and based in Glen Burnie, Maryland. In the late 1980’s they manufactured a circular dog bed designed in Australia. It was an excellent bed but it was costly to make and ship. They discontinued manufacture of the circular bed in 1995 when they designed and patented the original rectangular dog bed (the RDB) which was an immediate hit. They then introduced the poly resin bed in 1998, an aluminum version followed in 2003.

“Our shelter takes in over 50,000 animals a year, sadly often there are few things we can do for them other than make them comfortable. The Kuranda beds make that possible.
GLEN BURNIE, MD The image of cold dogs, lying on a hard, often wet cement floor paints a bleak picture of life in an animal shelter. That is why the Kuranda Dog Bed Company created a Donate a Bed Program to help provide dogs in shelters across the country with comfortable raised beds where they can relax during the time they are in the shelter.
The public has embraced the Donate a Bed Program which is providing thousands of beds to shelter dogs across the nation.

A gift of a Kuranda dog bed is a long lasting one. The raised hammock style of the beds provide orthopedic support good for healthy hips and joints. The design of the bed tucks the fabric into the specially molded channel making it virtually “chewproof”, backed by a full 1 Year Warranty! The company will replace any damaged part or fabric at no charge for the first year.

The Program enables individuals to donate and send beds directly to their favorite shelter at a discounted price. The bed can be sent in the donor’s name, or as a gift in someone else’s name. The shelter is immediately notified that a bed is on the way!

Pet owners know how important a bed is to their dog. Providing a comfortable raised bed where shelter dogs live 24 hours a day makes life nicer for them. Shelters report Kuranda beds make a big difference for the dogs in the kennels, reducing their stress levels by having their own comfortable bed making them happier and more adoptable.

If you would like to help a shelter dog by providing a warm, dry, comfortable off the floor bed, just visit www.kuranda.com and click on “Donate a Bed” for the shelter of your choice.
Kuranda USA is a small manufacturing company established in 1987 and based in Glen Burnie, Maryland. In the late 1980’s they manufactured a circular dog bed designed in Australia. It was an excellent bed but it was costly to make and ship. They discontinued manufacture of the circular bed in 1995 when they designed and patented the original rectangular dog bed which was an immediate hit.
