Yesterday was the kushmoney poker tour event #4 and there wasn’t a lot of poker players that entered the event. The event was pretty cheap as always to get into. $2.25 buyin, and the event was held on reefer poker. I want to say thank you to this online poker room. You guys/gals rock. Like the last event, the was only had 3 poker players.

The Art Of Bluffing At Texas Holdem

Many poker hands can be won by bluffing. Online poker is known for its players bluffing a little too much. Bluffing too many times like a normal online poker player can make you lose a serious amount of chips. Many players go from chip leader of the table to the small stack of the table in one hand from bluffing. I myself have done this a few times in very important tournaments.

What is bluffing?

To bluff is to bet or raise high enough so your opponents will fold their hands.

What is a semi-bluff?

To semi-bluff is to bet or raise even though you need one more card to improve your hand. (All of your opponents may fold)

The art of bluffing

To be successful at bluffing at online poker take some time. One must learn how their opponents are playing that day. Play at least 10 - 25 hands before trying to bluff your opponents. By waiting 10 - 25 hands before bluffing your opponents allows you to learn how each of your opponents are playing.

Make sure you take a look at the cards when there is a showdown. Look at the players that went in with something dumb like a 9 2 off suit, They are playing a little to wild.(Better terms a “Donkey”) You want to try your first bluff against a online poker player like this. So even if your opponent calls your bluff. You still have some hope of winning the hand. I personally like to call this a safe bluff.

Now once you get a few wins from bluffing this way. You can try bluffing a few tight online poker players. I heard of a few online poker players that play poker games at 888.com that won some really good pot sizes by bluffing to win.

Kushmoney.net is still in beta but I am starting promotion for it now. I sent out emails and tweets to my poker friends. I have posted in DP for beta testers. The site will stay in beta for at least a week or 2 maybe more. I want to make sure everything works perfectly.

Name Your Favorite Poker Game

I was sitting back thinking to myself why I love playing Texas hold’em and badugi poker. I also like playing Omaha because it’s a lot like hold’em. Everybody have their own reason why they love the poker game they love. My girlfriend loves 7 card stud but often plays Texas hold’em. (My girlfriend and I both want to play in the main event someday)

I fell in love with Texas hold’em while watching the WSOP in 2003 when Chris Moneymaker won that year. I thought it was great that a complete nobody won a seat and took down the whole tournament. The thought of me doing that some day seems only like a dream. By the time I even make it that far I would have made my name in the poker world some other way like my poker community site. I have some long struggles ahead with that site but I am ready for it.

I fell in love with badugi from playing in a freeroll tournament. I was playing at a poker room in their daily freeroll tournaments and entered a tournament not realizing it was a badugi tournament. After it started and seen it was badugi I did what any Texas hold’em poker player would do facing a new game. BLUFF! I bluffed for about 20 mins before I did a quick google search on the rules of badugi. I was the chip leader at my table so I had no problem until I realize what I was doing wrong. After I learned the rules and tried to bluff one last time before playing for real. I lost almost my whole chip stack. Then the next hand big blind on me, I am all in since my chip stack was so low. I lost the tournament but fell in love with a new poker game called badugi.

Knowing how I fell in love with the 2 poker games, I wondered how other fell in love with the poker game they play. Please voice how you fell in love with the poker game you play by posting below. I would love to read how it came to be.

Picking Your Poker Game To Make A Profit

When I first started playing poker I only played in freeroll tournaments. I would win some cash then lost that cash from buying into a tournament. This went on for months, I then told myself I am going to make a deposit, well I did and lost all of the money. Lol yeah that’s me for ya. I made another deposit, this time I played a few sit-n-gos and started to fall for the same things until I went to the pot limit cash games and started to make a profit at the tables.

It took me around 8 months to find the game that will make me a profit. First hour I made $4 profit. I know not a lot but it’s a start from my losing. I stopped playing to handle some things with one of my websites. Came back to the tables only to lose $5 within an hour. I took myself out of the grove. I should have kept going while I was hot. No big deal I know how to handle myself at the tables now.

Today I am going to sit down with a clear mind and something to drink. I will only focus on playing poker and nothing else. I will write how it went at the poker community site. By the way I am still looking for poker players to represent the site in tournaments.

How To Pick Your Poker Game?

This is a lot more simple than most people think. Even I thought it was a great idea to play in big tournaments since that’s the way I made money playing poker before I made a deposit. Well that was the big mistake right there. No need for a beginner to play in tournaments and sit-n-go’s. First we have to get use to playing for hours on end at the cash games.

If you like me you like going all in when you think you got the nuts. Well I had to make sure I couldn’t do that. So I looked for limit Texas holdem but couldn’t find it at full tilt micro cash game tables. So I picked the next best thing, pot limit Texas holdem. Hop in the $0.01/$0.02 6 player max tables with the maximum buyin at the table of $2. I play very tight at these tables and be aggressive when the time is right.

Every so often there comes a donkey sit down at your table. Wait until you have the nuts and let him or her be the aggressive one. Check on the river and let him/her place they bet. Raise with a pot bet. The donkey will call of course and you take down the pot.

Doing this for about 20 – 30 minutes people start to realize how I play and stop betting on the river. This is when I know its time to change tables. I move to another table find the donkey at the table and wait for my move all over again.

I plan on playing poker at this level for about 2 or 3 hours today and see how things turn out. If it turns out good, I will start checking my emails in the morning, write my blog posts for all 4 blogs and then play poker for hours until I get hungry, bored, or really want to work on my websites.

Knowing When To Stop Playing!

A lot of new poker players have a problem stop playing poker when they are losing all night. Most new poker players tell themselves I will win back my money then stop. I can play again tomorrow.

The problem with this thought process is you may not win back what you lost. If you on tilt then just clam yourself. Stop playing poker for the night. Do something else to take up your time.

What To Do When You On Tilt?

In times like these, its a perfect time to sit down and just read some poker books. Remember, knowledge is power. So read as many poker books as you can and become a powerful poker player. (I will be giving away free poker books to active members of my poker social network)

Once you done reading your poker book. Talk with other poker players on poker forums or poker social networks. There is always a player better than yourself to help you out with what you doing wrong. You may even make some cool poker friends.

So the next time you playing your heart out and just can’t seem to win. STOP! Take some time to read poker books, connect with other poker players on poker forums and poker social networks.

Maybe even hope in a freeroll or two to clam yourself. If you lose in a freeroll you don’t lose any money so go for it and apply what you learned from the poker books and your new found poker friends.

2) Read poker books

3) Connent with other poker players in a poker community

4) Play in a freeroll tournament or two to relax your mind
