हाल ही में दिल्ली के कसाबा जाधव कुश्ती स्टेडियम में , जो की इंदिरा गाँधी खेल स्टेडियम परिसर में स्थित है , 26वीं सीनियर एशियाई कुश्ती रेसलिंग चैंपियनशिप प्रतियोगिता सम्पन्न हुई , कुश्ती खेलने वाले सभी एशियाई देशों जैसे हिंदुस्तान, रूस , जापान ,चीन , मंगोलिया ईरान ,इराक , अजर्बजान, अफगानिस्तान , उज़्बेकिस्तान ,कोरिया , विएतनाम , श्रीलंका इत्यादि ने भाग लिया। सभी देशों से महिला व् पुरुष वर्गों ने अपने -२ पहलवानों को पुरे दमखम के उतारा। एशियाई देशों के सभी बड़े पहलवानों ने इसमें भाग लिया , हालांकि हिन्दुस्तान के पसंदीदा खिलाडियों जैसे ,सुशील , यौगेश्वर , मौसम खत्री, जोगेंदर , गुरशरण प्रीत , कौर रोहित पटेल जैसे खिलाडी बाहर रहे फिर भी इक्कीस पहलवानों के एक दल ने भारत का प्रतिनिधित्व किया। जिनमे अमित कुमार , अमित धनकड़, बजरंग , गीता फोगट बहने, प्रियंका, गीता और बबीता ,गीतिका जाखड ,ज्योति , नवजोत कौर, विनेश, हितेंदर, नरसिंह यादव , गौरव शर्मा , सुनील कुमार राणा, भीम सिंह , राजबीर चिकारा , हरप्रीत, प्रियंका सिंह, रविंदर सिंह, इत्यादि नाम शामिल हैं।

बड़े सम्मान की बात है की इस चैंपियनशिप में हिन्दुस्तान ने 2 गोल्ड, 1 सिल्वर , और 6 ब्रोंज मेडल्स पाकर फ्रीस्टाइल कुश्ती की चैंपियनशिप हासिल की है। जिसमे महिला और पुरुष दोनों वर्गों के पहलवानों का योगदान हैं। ये कुश्ती प्रेमियों और हिन्दुस्तान के लोगों के लिए एक फक्र की बात है। कुश्ती संघ के अथक प्रयासों के परिणाम स्वरूप ही यह संभव हो सका है , हालाँकि अभी कुश्ती संघ को और अधिक अच्छे प्रयास करने है जिनमे देश भर के पहलवानों को कुश्ती से जोड़ना , उन्हें अच्छी से अच्छी ट्रेनिंग की सुविधा प्रदान करना , कुश्ती को और अधिक लोकप्रिय बनाए रखना , कुश्ती प्रतियोगिताएं समय पर हों, सभी को सूचना मिले, मेन लाइन मीडिया कुश्ती से जुड़े , पहलवानों के निष्पक्ष ट्रायल्स हों, और अच्छे कोच पहलवानों को उपलब्ध हों। कुश्ती प्रतियोगताओं के आयोजन सम्बन्धी सूचनाओं को जन जन तक पहुंचाना और उचित टिकेट या पास की व्यवस्था करना शामिल है . एशियाई देशों के इस बड़े खेल में भी दर्शक लगभग कुश्ती स्टेडियम से नदारद रहे इसका जरूर मुझे मलाल रहा। लोगों को स्टेडियम से पास या टिकेट के अभाव में वापस लौटते देखना मेरा एक दुखद अनुभव भी रहा।

नवजोत सिल्वर 67kg , विनेश 51 kg. ब्रोंज, बबीता 55 kg. ब्रोंज, jyoti 72 kg ब्रोंज, गीतिका जाखड 63 kg ब्रोंज,
नरसिंह यादव का क्वार्टर फाइनल में हारना बड़ा दुखद रहा , उन्होंने बड़ी अच्छी कुश्ती दिखाई लेकिन भाग्य उज्बेक्सितान के पहलवान के साथ रहा और नरसिंह को हार से ही संतोष करना पड़ा , हालाँकि वो पहले एशियाई चैंपियन रह चुके हैं।
इसी प्रकार एक कड़े मुकाबले में गीता फोगट को भी हार का सामना करना पड़ा

ENGLISH VERSION

The 26th Senior Asian Wrestling Championship 2013 was a runaway success here at the Kasaba Jadhav Kushti Stadium, Indira Gandhi Sports Stadium Complex, New Delhi .
Almost every country in Asia sent wrestlers to compete in Greco-roman, men’s freestyle and women’s frestyle events.
Indian star wrestlers like Sushil, Yogeshwar, Gursharan, Mausam, Joginder, and Rohit Patel didn’t compete, but there were all 21 wrestlers from the Indian contingent who participated, among them were Amit Kumar, Amit Dhankad, Bajrang, Geeta Phogut sisters priyanka, babeeta and geeta, Geetika Jakhad, Jyoti, Navjot Kaur, Vinesh, Hitender, Narsingh Yadav, Gaurav Sharma , sunil Kumar rana, Bheem singh, Rajbeer chikara, Harpreet, Priyanka singh, Ravinder singh, etc.

It is a matter of great respect for India that this time Indians won the overall championship bagging 2 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze. This has proved Indian’s worth in the game. Wrestling Federation of India and the immense efforts of wrestlers are to be credited. The new acting head of wrestling’s governing body, FILA, also attended. He must have been concerned that there were so few spectators in the stadium, especially in a country with as rich a tradition in wrestling as India. I saw people coming to watch the event and being turned away for lack of passes or tickets. People were wondering how to reach the stadium and there was little communication, or advertising about the event, so many people didn’t even know it was being held.

The highlights of the competition were the gold medal wins by two of India’s top wrestlers in the men’s freestyle event: Amit Kumar at 55kg and Amit Dhankhar at 66kg. Bajrang and Hitender also picked up bronze medals in the 60kg and 120kg weight classes, respectively. Click here for the full results.
For the women, Navjot won the 67kg silver, and several won bronze: Vinesh 51kg, babeeta 55kg, geetika jakhad 63kg, jyoti 72kg.

Two matches were really disheartening were Indian wrestlers missed their mark. One of Narsingh Yadav and the other of Geeta Phogat. Better luck next time.

Johnny-Benia share Mahadev Dangal title

JAMMU: Bharat Kesari and National Games gold medal winner, Johnny Choudhary of Himachal Pradesh and Liaqat Ali of Panthal in J and K shared the Annual Mahadev Kesari Dangal title after 31-minute long fight for the main bout between them ended in a draw.
Both these wrestlers shared Rs 21,000 cash prize which was presented by Chief Guest, General Manager of NHPC Salal, Chander Mohan. This Dangal was organised by Mahadev Dangal Committee Reasi in association with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
President J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided while Tehsildar Reasi, Munshi Ram, Dr R.P Singh, R.K Chowhan and Padam Dev Singh were Guests of Honour.
Second main bout between Major of Dera Baba Nanak in Punjab and Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhalwal again remained undecided resulting into both awarded with Rs 6,000 cash prize.
Liaqat lifts Salal Kesari title
Meanwhile, in another Dangal of District Reasi, Liakat Ali of Panthal outplayed Balwan Singh of Mahore winning Rs 7,000 cash prize. Runners-up, Balwan got Rs 4,000 prize from the organisers.
Other Results: Baloo of Gurdaspur beat Murad Ali of Domana; Devinder of Domana defeated Raju of Kapurthala; Bittu of Delhi beat Prem Verma of Jhiri; Bagga of Kot Bhalwal outplayed Amir Khan of Bajarangi Akhara Jammu; Gopal Sharma of Jindrah beat Billu of Kotbhalwal; Nasar Ahmed of Doda beat Vijay of Bai Bajalta; Deepu of Domana beat Raj Singh of Mahore; Bharat Bushan of Domana beat Puran Singh of Gari Gabber; luckey of Domana beat Kartar Singh of Narkote; bouts between Sadiq of Domana and Rallu of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu ended in a draw.

हरी सिंह स्मृती दंगल 2013

दक्षिणी दिल्ली में क़ुतुब की मीनार के पार्श्व में घिटोरनी गाँव है और पास में ही आया नगर, क़ुतुब की मीनार से ऊँची यहाँ पहलवानी की परम्परा है। आया नगर में जमीन से फसल उगा किसानी कर लोग कमाते और इधर घिटोरनी में दूध का काम करके , दोनों गाँवों में बच्चे पहलवानी करते और एक से बढ़ कर एक कुश्तियां दिखाते ; यहीं दिवंगत श्यामलाल पहलवान हुए , जिन्होंने पहलवानी में बहुत नाम कमाया और क्षेत्र के श्रेष्ठ पहलवान रहे। इसी गाँव में धीरज पहलवान ने भी पहलवानी में खूब नाम कमाया वो अपने पिता हरी सिंह की याद में प्रति वर्ष अपने गाँव घिटोरनी में दंगल कराते हैं। हरी पहलवान एक अच्छे पहलवान रहे , महरौली में एक बार वो सतपाल पहलवान से भी लड़े। भाई विजय वीर बीते कुछ वर्षों से दंगल की तैयारियों की जिम्मेदारी संभाले हुए हैं , उनकी देखरेख में दंगल का आयोजन हर वर्ष बेहतर होता जा रहा है। इस वर्ष के दंगल के स्थान को भी उन्होंने कुछ हट कर चुना और दंगल की मिटटी को बहुत चुनकर लाये , बहुत समय बाद दंगल में इतनी अच्छी मिटटी देखने को मिली। इसी प्रकार उन्होंने अच्छे साउंड , लाइट , सुरक्षा , और बैठने के इंतज़ाम की व्यवस्था की जो वाकई काबिले तारीफ़ है। मेहमानों के लिए ऊँचा मंच , और अतिथियों के लिए अच्छी कुर्सियों का इंतज़ाम , पहलवानों के नहाने के लिए पानी के टैंकर सभी कुछ दंगल शुरू होने से पहले अपने -२ स्थान पर मौजूद था। इसके लिए विजय वीर भाई (विजय गुज्जर ) और उनके मित्र काबिले तारीफ़ हैं , और मुझे उम्मीद है की उनके होते हुए घिटोरनी गाँव में दंगल की शानदार परम्परा अनवरत चलती रहेगी।

पहलवानों की कुश्तियां
दंगल बच्चों की कुश्तियों से शुरू हुआ , गुरु मुन्नी अखाड़े से बच्चे कुश्तियों में धूम मचा रहे हैं , उनकी कलाकारी देखते ही बनती थे , उन्होंने कई -२ कुश्तियां लड़ी , दंगल में हर बच्चे को मौका मिला। एक साथ ४-४ जोड़ बच्चे कुश्ती लड़े , मैंने देखा की कुछ बच्चे जो पहलवानी भी नहीं करते मौका मिलने पर किसी बाल पहलवान से भिड़ने जा पहुंचे। कुश्ती कोई भी लड़ सकता है इस खेल को नजरअंदाज करने के लिए अंग्रेजों ने क्रिकेट चलाया लेकिन आज बच्चों को खेल में रूचि लेते देख गाँधी के स्वदेशी अपनाओ नारे के बात याद आ गई , में सभी बच्चों से आह्वान करता हूँ की वे अपना देशी खेल खेलें ये देश की बेहतर सेवा होगी। दंगल में तरतीब से कुश्तियां हुई बच्चों के बात जूनियर्स की और फिर बड़े पहलवानों की। जूनियर पहलवानों में मोहित गुरु श्याम लाल और इंदिरा स्टेडियम के पहलवान के बीच अच्छी कुश्ती चली जिसमे मोहित आखरी चंद सेकंडो में चित्त हो गये। बंधवाडी के मनीष जो की गुरु राजकुमार के शिष्य है उनकी कुश्ती एक अच्छे पहलवान से हुई जो की बराबर रही। गुरु श्यामलाल अखाड़े के मोगली की कुश्ती गुरु मुन्नी अखाड़े के मनीष से हुई, कुश्ती अच्छी चली, मनीष ने चोक होल्ड पर मोघ्ली को फंसा कर चित्त , किया जिसे रेफरी ने अनदेखा कर कुश्ती दे दी। संदीप गुरु मुन्नी और विकास गुरु श्यामलाल की कुश्ती में संदीप ने विकास को बड़ी खूबसूरती से चित्त कर कुश्ती जीती। ग्यानेंदर गुरु हनुमान ने मोनू श्यामलाल को चित्त कर कुश्ती जीती। सोहना के रविंदर और गुरु रतन के संजय के बीच कुश्ती का निर्णय न हो सका। इसी प्रकार प्रकाश प्रधान के शिष्य दानिश की कुश्ती भी गुरु हनुमान के शिष्य के साथ बराबर रही। समयाभाव के कारण, मुख्तियार और परवीन छत्रसाल मनीष और रोहतक और सतीश गुरु होते लाल की कुश्तिया बराबर रही।

बड़ी कुश्तियां
बड़ी कुशितियों में अन्नी पहलवान ने अपने प्रतिद्वंदी को नीचे लिटा कर चित्त किया, इसी प्रकार अनिल पहलवान अखाडा रोहतक और गुल्लू पहलवान गुरु हनुमान के बीच बढ़िया कुश्ती चली , जिसमे गुल्लू पहलवान ने अनिल को घुटना रख कर तोड़ कर चित्त किया, भोलू और जीतू गुरु श्याम लाल के बीच कुश्ती काफी देर तक चली, समय ख़तम होने पर दर्शकों ने और समय माँगा , इसके बावजूद कुश्ती बराबरी पर छूटी। पहली कुश्ती के लिए राजीव तोमर, निशांत ठाकुर, वरुण और हितेश ने दावेदारी ठोकी , कमिटी ने सबको लड़ाने का निश्चय कर इकहत्तर हज़ार के इनाम पर दो कुश्ती कराने का निर्णय लिया , जिसमे राजीव तोमर और निशांत तथा वरुण और हितेश के बीच कुश्तियां कराई गई जो की बराबरी पर छूटी
गुरु खलीफा
दंगल में गुरु जसराम , प्रकाश प्रधान, प्रकाश कुल्हिपुरिया , द्रोणाचार्य महा सिंह राव, रतन, श्रीचंद मीर खलीफा, गुरु मुन्नी अखाड़े के संचालक , खलीफा होते, राजिंदर पहलवान, गुरु हरिपाल, खलीफा रघ्बर , अशोक कोच ,श्रीपाल पहलवान,मस्तराम नेता जी, धर्मपाल ,डी एस पी साहब, चरण सिंह, व् अन्य गणमान्य व्यक्तियों का पगड़ी पहना कर स्वागत किया गया। सभी गुरु खलीफाओं व् गण्यमान्य व्यक्तियों के लिए उचित सम्मान का भी प्रबंध किया गया।

दंगल की समाप्ति पर दंगल में उपस्थित सभी लोगों का धन्यवाद किया गया और दंगल समाप्ति की घोषणा की गई।

ENGLISH VERSION

Just a few kilometers away from Delhi’s famous historical site Qutub Minar are the villages of Aaya nagar and Ghitorni. Aaya nagar was a farming village and the people of Ghitorni sold milk to earn a living. Children from both the villages used to learn wrestling at a nearby akhada and made their villages famous by winning dangals all over India. Guru shyam lal was one such international wrestler. Like wise Hari singh ji once he wrestled with Mahabli Satpaal at the Mehrauli Dangal. His son Dheeraj became a very good wrestler too. Now in the fond memory of his father Dheeraj Pahwlan organizes a great wrestling competition every year. This was the 31st wrestling competition in a row.

Vijay veer pawar or vijay gujjar is an old friend of mine. He takes care of the arrangements of the competition, which is going better every year. Brother vijay veer deserves praise, and I am sure in the coming years he will maintain the tradition and people would come and watch the competition like they did this time.

Matches of juniors
The competition was started with the bouts of younger wrestlers. Wrestler of guru munni akhada dominated the competition. All were given chances to wrestle, even the kids who had no kushti training participated. Mohit of guru shyamlal akhda fought with a wrestler of IG stadium and in the end moments was pinned by his opponent. Moughli wrestled with manish of guru munni akhada. Manish used a choke hold, which was illegal, but the referee didn’t notice and he gave the match to Manish. Sandeep of guru munni and vikas of shyamlal akhada wrestled a great match that ended with a pin for vikas. Gyanender of guru hanuman akhada defeated nonu. Ravinder of sohna and sanjay guru rattan remained equal. Danish wrestled two bouts - one victory and one draw. Mukhtiyar pahlwan and parveen chatrsaal remained equal. Manish and a wrestler from rohtak and satish guru hotelal also wrestled to a draw.

The Big Matches
Anni Pahlwan pinned his opponent. The match between anil of rohtak and gullu was magnificent. Gullu pinned Anil after putting his leg over the head of anil and toppling him over. Jitu of guru shyam lal and Bholu of guru hanuman wrestled to a draw even after the match went into overtime.
For the first prize match of rs. 151000/- there were four big wrestlers: rajiv tomar, nishant thakur, varun gujjar and Hitesh. The dangal committee decided to engage all them and so two first prize matches were scheduled for 71000/- each. Rajiv tomar vs nishant and varun vs Hitesh. Both matches ended in draws.

Guru and khalifa’s
Guru jasramji, prakash pradhan, prakash kulhipuriya, dronachary mahasingh rao, kalifa srichand, hote, care taker of guru munni akhada, rajinder pahlwan, hari pahlwan, ashok coach, sripal pahlwan, netaji mastram, dharmal dsp, charan singh kalifa and other dignitaries graced the competition with their presence. All were honored with traditional pagdi.

कायम है अखाड़ों में गुरु-शिष्य परम्परा

रेवाड़ी : रेवाड़ी में आजादी पूर्व से लेकर आज तक अखाड़े चल रहे हैं। इन अखाड़ों के संचालक पहलवानों के वृद्ध या मृत्यु हो जाने पर उनके शिष्यों ने इस परम्परा को आज भी कायम रखा है। इन अखाड़ों को वैसे तो कोई प्रशिक्षित सरकारी कोच नहीं मिला, लेकिन गुरुओं ने ही प्रशिक्षण देकर अपने चेलों को बलिष्ठ व सुसंस्कारित किया। इनमें से अनेक पहलवानों ने राष्ट्रीय व राज्य स्तर पर कुश्तियों में मैडल भी बटोरे हैं। जिला रेवाड़ी में अखाड़ों का रंग अब धीरे-धीरे फीका पडऩे लगा है। जिन अखाड़ों के नामी पहलवान दूर-दराज के दंगलों में जाकर अपनी पहलवानी का लोहा मनवाते थे, वहां आज बदलते परिवेश में अखाड़ों में प्रशिक्षण लेने वाले युवाओं व किशोरों की संख्या निरंतर घटती जा रही है।
नगर का छोटा तालाब अखाड़ा आजादी पूर्व से आज तक चल रहा है। यह यहां का सबसे पुराना अखाड़ा है। इस अखाड़े को अपने जमाने के विख्यात पहलवान जमनागिरी बाबा चलाते थे। इस अखाड़े में रेवाड़ी के अलावा निकटवर्ती गांवों के सैकड़ों पहलवान आते थे। जमनागिरी नामी पहलवान थे और उनका डंका दूर-दूर तक बजता था। जमनागिरी के बाद उनके शिष्य नई बस्ती रेवाड़ी निवासी लीला खलीफा ने इस अखाड़े का दायित्व संभाला। उनके गुरु सूरजा सैनी थे। यहां के रतिया व पाई नामक पहलवानों की भी खूब धूम रही। लीला

खलीफा के बाद छोटा तालाब अखाड़ा को संचालित करने वाले भाखरी के टुंटा पहलवान उर्फ मूलचन्द से अच्छे-अच्छे पहलवान घबराते थे। टुंटा पहलवान के गुजर जाने के बाद से 57 वर्षीय रेवाड़ी निवासी भाई श्योलाल पहलवान इस अखाड़े की जिम्मेदारी पिछले 30 सालों से संभाले हुए हैं। वह बताते हैं कि छोटा तालाब अखाड़ा ने अनेक नामी पहलवान दिए हैं। जिनमें जयसिंह यादव पीटीआई डयोढ़ई गूजरीवास, लीला खलीफा के पुत्र प्रेमचन्द, करतार हांसाका, रोहताश चौहान मोहल्ला बड़ा तालाब, खुशीराम पहलवान भूड़ला संगवाड़ी, रामानंद कमालपुर के नाम उल्लेखनीय हैं। इन पहलवानों ने खुले दंगलों में भाग लेकर खूब नाम कमाया। भाई श्योलाल द्वारा प्रशिक्षित पहलवान सुखबीर, सुरेन्द्र पहलवान भालखी माजरा, कृष्ण सिंह राजगढ़, मनोज ठठेरा नई बस्ती, मनोज कुमार कुंडल, देशराज सांतो, संजय उर्फ सोनू, करण सिंह, अशोक बधराना के अलावा उनके स्वयं के पुत्र विकास वीर भी पहलवानी में नाम कमा रहे हैं।
जिला के प्रमुख अखाड़े
नगर के छोटा तालाब अखाड़ा, हनुमान अखाड़ा के अलावा, आसलवास, टीकला, बुड़ौली, बावल, बलवाड़ी में भी अखाड़े चल रहे हैं। हनुमान अखाड़ा व आसलवास के आजादनाथ अखाड़े का संचालन अशोक पहलवान करते हैं और यहां से अच्छे पहलवान तैयार हो रहे हैं। इन अखाड़ों के अलावा ठेठरावाली बगीची, सौलहराही व ब्रह्मगढ़ पर भी अखाड़े चलते थे जो आज बंद हो चुके हैं।
सुविधा के अभाव में तैयार नहीं हो रहे पहलवान
जिला में जितने भी अखाड़े चल रहे हैं, उनमें संचालक ही प्रशिक्षक हैं। सरकार की ओर से आज तक कुश्ती का कोई कोच जिला को नहीं मिला है। अखाड़ा संचालक भाई श्योलाल व अशोक पहलवान बताते हैं कि क्षेत्र के युवाओं में प्रतिभा की कोई कमी नहीं है, लेकिन सरकार की ओर से सुविधा व सहायता का भारी अभाव है। इस खेल को बढ़ावा देने के लिए आज तक गंभीर प्रयास नहीं हुए। जब युवाओं को ही सुविधाएं नहीं हैं तो लड़कियां भी इस क्षेत्र में आगे नहीं आ पाईं। आज के माहौल को देखते हुए अभिभावक भी अपने बच्चों को कुश्ती की बजाय अन्य खेलों की तरफ मोड़ रहे हैं। वह कहते हैं कि सुविधाएं मिलने पर मैडल लाने वाले अनेक बच्चे सामने आ सकते हैं।

वर्तमान में रेवाड़ी के छोटा तालाब अखाड़ा के संचालक भाई श्योलाल का हाल यह था कि जहां भी दंगल देखते वहीं कुश्ती लडऩे के लिए उतर पड़ते थे। फिर चाहे शादी में जा रहे हों या किसी अन्य जरूरी काम से, उन्हें इसकी चिंता नहीं रहती थी। आज से 25 साल पहले एक बार वह अपने एक दोस्त की शादी में जा रहे थे। उनकी कार अन्य बारातियों से आगे थी। रास्ते में देखा कि दंगल हो रहा है। भाई श्योलाल का पहलवानी जोश जाग गया और वह दंगल में उतर गए और प्रतिद्वंद्वी को चित कर दिया। दर्शकों ने उन्हें कंधों पर उठा लिया। तब तक बारात की बस भी आ गयी। बारातियों ने देखा कि लोगों ने भाई श्योलाल को घेर रखा है। उन्होंने समझा कि श्योलाल का झगड़ा हो गया है इसी कारण लोग उन्हें घेरे खड़े हैं। बाद में पूरा माजरा समझने के बाद बारातियों की जान में जान आयी। इस कुश्ती में भाई श्योलाल को 1-1, 2-2, 5-5 के नोट के रूप में करीब 500 रुपये इनाम में मिले थे। इसी तरह भाई श्योलाल एक बार अपने साथियों के साथ जरूरी काम से चंडीगढ़ आ रहे थे। करनाल बाईपास पर उनकी मैटाडोर का पहिया पंक्चर हो गया। जब मैटाडोर में उनके साथी स्टपनी लगा रहे थे तो भाई श्योलाल ने देखा कि सामने दंगल हो रहा है। वह वहां पहुंच गए और कुश्ती लडऩे की इच्छा जाहिर की। आयोजकों ने उनके वजन के हिसाब से दंगल में पहलवान खड़ा कर दिया। अब समस्या लंगोट की थी जोकि उनके पास नहीं था। आयोजकों ने लंगोट भी उपलब्ध करवा दिया और उसके बाद कुश्ती लड़ी तो दो सैकेंड में प्रतिद्वंद्वी को चित कर दिया। उसके बाद आयोजकों ने एक और पहलवान के साथ कुश्ती लडऩे को कहा तो भाई श्योलाल उसके लिए भी राजी हो गये और उसे भी चंद मिनटों में चित कर दिया। इससे आयोजक थोड़ा तैश में आ गये और एक और कुश्ती लडऩे की ऑफर दी लेकिन चंडीगढ़ आने की जल्दी में उन्होंने हाथ जोड़कर माफी मांग ली। तब तक मैटाडोर की स्टपनी भी बदल ली गयी थी।
भाई श्योलाल अखाड़े को मां की तरह प्यार करते हैं और कहते हैं, ‘इसके (अखाड़े के) आशीर्वाद से ही आज मैं इस मुकाम पर हूं। आज धन, मान-सम्मान इसकी बदौलत ही है।’ भाई श्योलाल ने राजनीति में भी हाथ आजमाये और दो विधानसभा चुनाव लड़े लेकिन राजनीति इन्हें कुछ जमी नहीं।

मेलों में लगते थे इनामी दंगल
रेवाड़ी के मशहूर अखाड़ों के पहलवान खुले दंगलों में हिस्सा लेकर अपने गुरु व क्षेत्र का नाम रोशन करते रहे हैं। बीकानेर, मिल्कपुर, भाड़ावास, कमालपुर, बिठवाना, मुरलीपुर, जड़थल, नैचाना में हर वर्ष मेले लगते हैं। इन मेलों में इनामी कुश्ती दंगल लोगों के आकर्षण का केन्द्र रहे हैं। हजारों की संख्या में लोग इन मेलों में जमा होकर पहलवानों की कुश्तियों का आनंद उठाते हैं। पुराने जमाने में एक-दो आना व दो व पांच रुपए की इनामी कुश्तियां होती थीं। कुश्ती से पूर्व दो व पांच रुपए के नोट को अंगोछे में बांध दिया जाता था और विजयी पहलवान को यह राशि दे दी जाती थी। रेवाड़ी के पहलवानों की कुश्तियां रेलवे कालोनी स्थित कंकरवाली पर होती थीं।

अशोक पहलवान ने संभाली पिता की विरासत

रेवाड़ी के अशोक पहलवान आज भी पिता से विरासत में मिले हनुमान अखाड़ा को चलाते हैं। इनसे पूर्व उनके पिता हनुमान सिंह यह अखाड़ा चलाते थे। यह अखाड़ा पिछले तीन दशकों से चल रहा है। इस अखाड़े से भी नामी पहलवान हुए। अशोक ने विश्वविद्यालय की ओर से राष्ट्रीय कुश्ती प्रतियोगिता में सिल्वर मैडल जीता। रामानंद पहलवान व उनके भाई रामबाबू के साथ-साथ उनके पिता सोमदत्त पहलवानी में विख्यात थे। सोमदत्त ने दिल्ली में अपनी पहलवानी का परचम लहराते हुए दिल्ली केसरी का खिताब जीता। हनुमान अखाड़ा से दाव-पेंच सीख कर पहलवान बने गांव देवलावास के मनोज पहलवान अपनी ख्याति के बल पर न केवल गांव के सरपंच बने, बल्कि उन्होंने राष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिताओं में भी हिस्सा लिया।

अमित व कृष्ण भाइयों ने अनेक मुकाबले जीते

रेवाड़ी के गांव गोकलगढ़ के दो भाइयों अमित व कृष्ण पहलवानी में खूब नाम कमा चुके हैं। अमित अपने समय के चोटी के पहलवान रहे हैं। राज्य स्तरीय 66 किलोग्राम प्रतियोगिता में वे सदैव अव्वल रहे। राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर उन्हें कांस्य पदक मिला। इस समय वह कुश्ती की बदौलत सेना में हैं। अमित सेना में भी अपने दमखम का परचम लहराते हुए ऑल इंडिया आर्मी स्पोट्र्स कंट्रोल बोर्ड द्वारा आयोजित इंटर कमांड रेसलिंग 2009-10 में गोल्ड मैडल तथा राष्ट्रीय स्तर की सेंट्रल कमांड स्पोट्र्स चैम्पियनशिप 2009 में फ्री स्टाइल कुश्ती में कांस्य पदक जीत चुके हैं। अमित का बड़ा भाई कृष्ण भी खुले दंगल की प्रतियोगिताओं में आज भी हिस्सा ले रहे हैं।

बरसात के बाद सूखे तालाब में जुड़ता है दंगल

रेवाड़ी का ऐतिहासिक प्राचीन छोटा तालाब।

छोटा तालाब अखाड़ा अपने में ऐतिहासिकता सेमेटे हुए हैं। जिस छोटा तालाब के पास यह अखाड़ा चल रहा है, इस तालाब में कभी राजाओं की रानियां स्नान करने आती थीं। रेवाड़ी राजाओं की नगरी रही है, यहां बड़ा तालाब भी है, जिसे तेज सागर के नाम से जाना जाता है। इस विशाल तालाब का निर्माण राजा तेज सिंह ने करवाया था। छोटा तालाब भी राजाओं द्वारा ही बनवाया गया और यह रानियों के नहाने का प्रमुख स्थल था। रानियां सड़क के माध्यम से नहीं, बल्कि भूमिगत सुरंग से होकर जीवली बाजार स्थित रानी की ड्योढी से यहां आती थीं। 50 फुट गहरे इस तालाब में कभी-कभी बड़े दंगल भी होते हैं। छोटा तालाब में वर्षा के दिनों में जब पानी भर जाता था तो यहां युवाओं, बच्चों की मस्ती देखते ही बनती है।

राव बिरेन्द्र व उनके सांसद पुत्र भी कुश्ती के शौकीन रहे

पूर्व केन्द्रीय मंत्री स्व. राव बिरेन्द्र सिंह कुश्ती के दौरान पहलवानों के साथ।

पूर्व केन्द्रीय मंत्री स्व. राव बिरेन्द्र सिंह ने कभी कुश्ती तो नहीं लड़ी, लेकिन वह कुश्ती देखने के शौकीन थे। उन्होंने अपने अहीर कॉलेज में कुश्ती प्रतियोगिताएं करवाईं और पहलवानों को सम्मानित भी किया। इसी तरह राव के पुत्र तथा सांसद राव इन्द्रजीत सिंह भी अखाड़ा दंगलों में मुख्यातिथि के तौर पर जा कर पहलवानों को प्रोत्साहित करते रहे हैं। पिछले साल छोटा तालाब अखाड़ा में आयोजित विशाल दंगल में उन्होंने अपनी उपस्थित दर्ज कराई और विजेता पहलवानों को सम्मानित किया।

हिंद केसरी के सामने नहीं आया कोई पहलवान

हिन्द केसरी सुरेश को रेवाड़ी के छोटा तालाब अखाड़े में सम्मानित किया गया।

17-18 साल पहले छोटा तालाब अखाड़ा में राष्ट्रीय स्तर का इनामी खुला दंगल आयोजित किया गया था। इस दंगल में देशभर के नामी पहलवान आए। उनमें एक थे हिंद केसरी सुरेश। सुरेश जब कुश्ती के लिए अखाड़े में उतरे तो किसी पहलवान की हिम्मत उनके सामने आने की नहीं हुई। सुरेश को जब किसी ने चुनौती नहीं दी तो उन्हें विजेता घोषित कर दिया था।

जिला कुमार कृष्ण व मुकेश ने जीते अनेक मैडल

राजगढ़ के कृष्ण सिंह ने विश्वविद्यालय की ओर से हरियाणा ओलम्पिक संघ, पंचकूला द्वारा आयोजित कुश्ती प्रतियोगिता में द्वितीय स्थान प्राप्त किया। सिरसा में आयोजित हरियाणा राज्य अखाड़ा प्रतियोगिता में उन्होंने द्वितीय स्थान पाया। गुडग़ांव में आयोजित राज्य स्तरीय कुश्ती में वह तीसरे स्थान पर रहे। वह वर्ष 2005-06 में रेवाड़ी के जिला कुमार भी रहे। इसी क्रम में रेवाड़ी के मोहल्ला बलभद्र सराय के मुकेश कुमार ने छोटा तालाब अखाड़ा से प्रशिक्षण लेकर राज्य स्तर पर कांस्य जीता। ओपन अखाड़ा प्रतियोगिताओं में वह रजत व कांस्य पदक जीत चुके हैं। उनके भाई सुनील कुमार वर्ष 2000 से 2005 तक अनेक राज्य स्तरीय प्रतियोगिताओं में भाग लेकर रजत व कांस्य पदक जीत चुके हैं। सुनील आनंदपुर साहिब (पंजाब) तक कुश्ती लड़ चुका है। इन दोनों भाइयों को जब कुश्ती में भविष्य सुंदर दिखाई नहीं दिया तो मुकेश ने दुकान कर ली और सुनील अब टैक्सी चालक है। भालखी माजरा के सुरेन्द्र पहलवान ने 76 किलोग्राम वर्ग की जिला स्तरीय प्रतियोगिता में गोल्ड मैडल जीता था।

टूटे हाथ की करामात, खौफ था टुंटे पहलवान का

छोटा तालाब अखाड़े के खलीफा टुंटा पहलवान से अच्छे-अच्छे पहलवान घबराते थे। रेवाड़ी जिला के गांव भाखरी के मूलचंद पहलवानी करते थे। एक बार उनका हाथ थ्रैशर में आ गया और उनका दायां हाथ आधा कट गया। फिर भी उन्होंने कुश्ती नहीं छोड़ी और मूलचंद टुंटा पहलवान के नाम से विख्यात हो गए। बताते हैं कि उनका टूटा हुआ हाथ ही कुश्ती में कमाल दिखाता था और उन्होंने टूटे हाथ से कुश्ती लडऩे की नयी तकनीक इजाद कर ली। टूटे हाथ की ही करामात थी कि उन्होंने अनेक दिग्गज पहलवानों को धूल चटायी। उनके दांव देखने के लिए भारी भीड़ उमड़ती थी। अब वह इस दुनिया में नहीं हैं।

झज्जर, 23 मार्च। कुश्ती हमारी मिट्टी का खेल है और हमारी परम्परा से जुड़ा रहा है। कांग्रेस सांसद दीपेंद्र हुड्डा ने यह बात शनिवार को गांव झाड़ली में भगत सिंह मंडल की ओर से आयोजित कुश्ती दंगल के दौरान बतौर मुख्यातिथि उपस्थित जनसमूह को संबोधित करते हुए कही। उन्होंने शहीद भगत सिंह, सुखदेव व राजगुरू को उनके बलिदान दिवस पर नमन करते हुए कहा कि महापुरुषों की स्मृति में ऐसे कार्यक्रम का आयोजन करने वाले बधाई का पात्र है।
देश के लिए हंसते हुए अपुनी शहादत देने वाले इन वीरों से युवाओं को त्याग व बलिदान की प्रेरणा लेनी चाहिए। इनके महान बलिदान को याद करते हुए हमें राष्ट्र की एकता व अखंडता को बनाए रखने का संकल्प लेना चाहिए। यहीं उन महापुरुषों को हमारी सच्ची श्रद्धांजलि होगी। दीपेंद्र हुड्डा ने कहा कि इस पावन अवसर पर आयोजित कार्यक्रम में भागीदारी करना अपने आप में खुशी की बात है।
सांसद ने दंगल के दौरान ग्रामीणों की ओर से रखी गई पीने के पानी की समस्या के समाधान की मांग पर संज्ञान लेते हुए मौके पर ही जन स्वास्थ्य विभाग के अधिकारियों को 2 महीने के भीतर ही समस्या के समाधान करने के निर्देश दिए। 2 महीने के दौरान गांव में पीने के पानी की समस्या खत्म हो जानी चाहिए। इसके अलावा उन्होंने गांव की अन्य समस्याओं पर भी संबंधित विभाग के अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए।
दीपेन्द्र ने कहा कि प्रदेश का जिक्र करते हुए कहा कि आज प्रदेश के हर कोने तक विकास की लहर है। समूचे प्रदेश में विकास की जो नींव मुख्यमंत्री हुड्डा ने 8 वर्ष पूर्व रखी गई थी, आज उसके परिणाम नजर आने लगे हैं। उन्होंने कहा हालांकि विकास का अभी लंबा रास्ता तय करना बाकी है। उन्होंने कहा खेल नीति से जहां प्रदेश के खिलाडिय़ों का मनोबल बढ़ा है। सांसद ने कहा कि आने वाला समय शिक्षा का है, इसी बात के मद्देनजर आज शिक्षा हब के रूप में विकसित हो रहा है। उन्होंने इस बात पर खुशी जाहिर कि वर्तमान सरकार की ओर से इस दिशा में किए गए प्रयास की बदौलत प्रदेश में दस जमा दो तक के विद्यार्थियों की ड्राप आऊट दर घट कर 4 फीसदी रह गई है। इस मौके पर वरिष्ठ कांग्रेसी नेता राज सिंह जाखड़, पूर्व विधायक डा. वीरेंद्र पाल, राजबीर जाखड़, विकास अहलावत, उमेद मातनहेल व राजकुमार सहित अनेक गणमान्य लोग उपस्थित थे।

सोनीपत के राजकुमार ने जीती कुश्ती प्रतियोगिता

जागरण टीम, धर्मपुर/सरकाघाट : नौ दिवसीय नलवाड़ मेला धर्मपुर का समापन भाजयुमो की प्रदेश कार्यकारिणी के सदस्य रजत ठाकुर ने किया। समापन अवसर पर कुश्ती प्रतियोगिता का भी आयोजन किया।

कुश्ती में सोनीपत से आए पहलवान राजकुमार ने बाजी मारी और गुर्ज अपने नाम किया। प्रतियोगिता में उपविजेता गुरपाल सिंह अमृतसर वाले रहे। प्रतियोगिता में 60 पहलवानों ने हिस्सा लिया तथा अपने करतब दिखाकर सबका मन मोह लिया। मुख्य अतिथि रजत ठाकुर ने कहा कि पहले लोग मेले में अपनी जरूरतों का सामान खरीदते थे व रिश्तेदारों से मिलते थे। आज के आधुनिक युग में लोग परंपराओं को भूलते जा रहे हैं जो नहीं होना चाहिए। उन्होंने कुश्ती के सफल आयोजन के लिए दस हजार रुपये दिए। वहीं राजकुमार सोनी ने 5100 रुपये, नेत्र सिंह कटवाल ने 1100 रुपये तथा बीडीसी उपाध्यक्ष कर्म चंद ठाकुर ने 501 रुपये दिए। स्थानीय पंचायत प्रधान बिहारी लाल ने मेले के बेहतर आयोजन के लिए स्थानीय लोगों का सहयोग के लिए धन्यवाद किया। इस मौके पर बीडीसी उपाध्यक्ष कर्म चंद, लौंगणी पंचायत के प्रधान देशराज पालशरा, ध्वाली पंचायत के प्रधान राजेंद्र ठाकुर, धर्मपुर के पूर्व प्रधान जगदीश चंद आदि उपस्थित थे।

JAMMU, April 15: Pahelwan Sukha of Rajasthan lifted the 58th Annual Moori Kesari dangal title outplaying Ranjeet of Ludhiana in Punjab in a tough bout that took place at Middle School Moori in district Reasi.
Dangal was organized by Moori Peer Baba Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) state general secretary and senior vice president Hotel and Restaurant Association of Katra, Rakesh Wazir was chief guest who gave away prizes to the winners and runners-up of main bouts.
President, J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function. Retired SP and treasurer of the Association, PR Sharma and senior vice president District Reasi Indian Style Wrestling Association, Pappu Lakri were guests of honour.
Winner of the main bout, Sukha was awarded a cash prize of Rs 9,000 while Ranjeet got Rs 6000. In all, 41 bouts were played in the dangal. The second main bout won by Benia of J&K Police, who beat Sukha of Rajasthan. Both these wrestlers were given away Rs 9,000 and Rs 6,000 cash prize respectively. In third main bout Kala of Phagwara defeated Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhawal Jammu.
Moori Dangal Committee members and technical officials who helped for conduct of this Dangal were Badri Nath, Sarpanch Romesh Chander, Om Parkash, Mohan Singh, Sukhdev Sharma, Bodh Raj, Parshotam Sharma, Birbal Sharma, Chunilal, Rajinder Kumar, Vijay Kumar (Viju), PR Sharma, Mohd. Fareed, Raj Singh, Pappu Lakri and Ustad Kirshan Lal Sharma.

"इस लड़की का जोड़ नहीं मिला , इसका कहना है की इसके जोड़ का लड़का भी इससे कुश्ती लड़ सकता हैं" ब्रज घाट , गढ़ गंगा में कुश्ती देखने हजारों की भीड़ के बीच विश्स्वास पहलवान ने घोषणा की। जानिये इस महिला वर्ग में बेजोड़ रही सूरज पहलवान की बेटी दिव्या सैन को । देखते ही देखते कई बालक हाथ मिलाने आ पहुंचे , कमेटी के प्रबंधक विश्वास पहलवान ने एक अच्छे पहलवान को चुनकर दोनों पहलवानों के बीच कुश्ती की घोषणा की तो दर्शकों ने जम कर तालियाँ बजाई , दोनों पहलवानों ने ब्रजघाट का दंगल यादगार बना दिया , हालांकि दर्शकों को यकीन था की कोई भी लड़का जल्दी से किसी भी बराबर वजन की लड़की को हरा देगा , और अब दिव्या के प्रतिद्वंदी को देखकर उन्हें यकीन हो चुका था , इतना तगड़ा है, "ये लड़की तो हार गई " मैंने दर्शकों को कहते सुना। फिर भी सब लोग देखना चाहते थे सो कुश्ती शुरू हो गई। पहलवान ने दिव्या को खींच कर नीचे गिराया, और घिस्सा लगा कर चित्त करने की कोशिश की , लेकिन बाहर जाने के कारण रेफरी ने कुश्ती को खड़ा कर चलाने का इशारा किया , इधर दर्शकों का रोमांच बढ़ता गया , "कौन अब क्या करेगा ?" वो आपस में पूछते , खड़े होकर दिव्या पहलवान ने अपना कोस्टूम ठीक किया, और जीदार हो कर अटैक लगाया , जिससे बचने की कोशिश हुई पर दिव्या ने एक और अटैक लगाया , जिसे बाहरी कलाजुंग भी कहा जाता है, और दिव्या का प्रतिद्वंदी चारों खाने चित्त, लोगों की हैरानी का ठिकाना न था, ये कुश्ती एक महिला पहलवान अपने पुरुष प्रतिद्वंदी को हरा कर जीत चुकी थी , पुरुष - प्रमुख वाली मानसिकता को ठेस तो जरूर पहुंची , पर कुश्ती भरपूर मनोरंजक रही, विश्वास पहलवान ने कहा की जितनी सुन्दर कुश्ती उतना सुन्दर इनाम , दर्शकों ने तालियाँ पीट -२ कर मानो आसमान सर पे उठा दिया। और देखते ही देखते दिव्या सैन दंगल की स्टार बन गई। नेता जी , कुंवर सिंह तंवर ने अपनी तरफ से दिव्या को ग्यारह हज़ार , इतना ही दंगल कमेटी ने और भीम पहलवान ने भी दिया, दंगल में बैठे सभी गुरु , खलीफाओं ने भी अच्छी कुश्ती दिखाने पर दिव्या को नकद इनाम दिया। कमेटी ने घोषणा की जनता को उनकी माँ बहन और घरवाली की कसम वो भी इस बिटिया को इनाम देकर हौसला अफजाई करें। फूल माला पहना , ढोल बजा कर पूरे दर्शकों के बीच दिव्या को घुमाया गया और दर्शकों ने दिव्या की झोली को नकद इनाम से लबालब कर दिया। उत्तर प्रदेश के रुढ़िवादी समाज में ये कोई आम बात नहीं है, मैंने देखा है की अक्सर दंगलों में लड़कियां या तो शरीक नहीं होती , या आने पर भी जल्दी से उनकी कुश्ती नहीं होती , पर इधर सामाजिक बदलाव लोगों की महिलाओं के प्रति मानसिकता को भी बदल रहे हैं, जिसका उदहारण गढ़ का ये दंगल रहा। पतित पावनी गंगा के तट , कौरवों और पांडवों की अस्थि विसर्जन का स्थान बनी भोलेनाथ की इस पसंदीदा , भूमि ब्रजघाट पर ये दंगल बेहतरीन दंगलों में एक था, कुश्ती दंगल के परंपरा के इस शानदार अध्याय में मुख्य पात्र फतेह -पुर, दिल्ली के नेता जी कुंवर सिंह तंवर और उनकी टीम , गुरु हनुमान अखाड़े के शिष्य विश्वास पहलवान , लाला पहलवान, भीम पहलवान हैं , उन्होंने ही इस बेहतरीन दंगल का आयोजन किया। जिसमे महिलाओं और पुरुष दोनों वर्गों के मुकाबले रखे गए थे . पुरुष वर्ग में पहली की कुश्ती राजीव तोमर ने छत्रसाल स्टेडियम के एक पहलवान बसंत को धोबी दांव पर नीचे ला कर तोड़ कर चित्त किया , दूसरी कुश्ती को विक्रांत पहलवान गुरु हनुमान ने भिवानी के विकास को हरा कर जीता इस तरह अन्य बड़ी कुश्तियों में , सिरस्पुर के सिल्लू को अनुज गुरु हनुमान ने चित्त किया, कल्लू गुरु हनुमान ने भी अच्छी कुश्ती मारी , कपिल और पचोता के अनिल के बीच कुश्ती बराबर रही , बमेठा के किरसन और सुमित की कुश्ती देखने लायक थी लेकिन बराबरी पर छूटी , सिंटू गुर्जर पहलवान डगरपुर की कुश्ती मुला पहलवान से हुई जो काफी देर तक चली समय ख़तम होने पर कुश्ती बराबरी पर छूटी, इसी प्रकार नए और बाल पहलवानों की अनेकों कुश्तिया हुई , महिला वर्ग में भी पहलवानों की अनेकों कुश्तिया हुई, महिलाओं की प्रतिभा को संवारने और उन्हें मौका देने के लिए दंगल के आयोजकों मै शुक्रिया अदा करना चाहूँगा। दंगल में अनेकों गणमान्य व्यक्तियों ने भाग लिया जिसमे प्रकाश कुल्हिपुरिया पहलवान , जो अपने समय के अच्छे पहलवान और मुल्तानी दांव के पारंगत थे, गुरु हनुमान अखाड़े से द्रोणाचार्य गुरु महा सिंह राव , मेरठ से डाक्टर जबर सिंह, और अलका तोमर , गुरु राजू राणा सिरस पुर से, सूरज पहलवान, इत्यादि। दंगल में अपने समय के स्टार पहलवान हिन्द केसरी भगत सिंह, हिन्द केसरी राजू पहलवान, गुलाम साबिर, सतपाल , प्रमुख लीलू पहलवान,इत्यादि। दंगल में गढ़ क्षेत्र के पुलिस विभाग के अफसरों का भी स्वागत किया गया, उन्होंने क्षेत्र को सुरक्षित बनाने में जी जान एक कर रखी है, उनका बहुत -२ ,आभार , दंगल में गढ़ के मुख्य पुजारी शामिल रहे , और उनका फूलमाला पहना कर स्वागत किया गया। दंगल में सभी अखाड़े से आये गुरु खलीफा और कॉचेस का सम्मान किया गया।

"This girl remains unchallenged among women, so she will challenge any boy of her age," announced Vishwas Pahlwan before the thousands of people gathered at Gadh to watch a great dangal. The girl was Divya Pahlwan, daughter of Suraj Pahlwan of Delhi. Many boys came forth to accept the challenge and Vishwas Pahlwan, a member of organising committee, finally chose a suitable opponent.
The crowd applauded, eager to see whether this female wrestler could actually beat a man. When they saw here opponent, I heard people saying, “he is very strong, Divya will lose for sure.” What they didn’t know was that Divya had taken on male wrestlers before and had pinned them all. The spectators were cheering as the match began. The male wrestler immediately attacked, taking Divya down, but the two tumbled out of bounds and the referee brought them back to their feet in the center of the pit. Divya went on offense. She sprang at her opponent, and as he defended himself she attacked again, flipping him over with a move called kalajang. The male wrestler tried to roll out of it, but Divya held him on his back and pinned him. It took her only one minute to defeat him. The crowd roared with approval. They had never seen such a thing. Her opponent looked stunned as he got up off the ground, but he was also in awe of Divya’s wrestling abilities.
Vishwash Pahlwan said there would be a prize as good as the match was, and announced a cash reward of eleven thousand for the winner. Most of the dignitaries, including political leader Neta ji Kanwar Singh Tanwar and also Bheem Pahlwan, gave her cash prizes.
This is how the land witnessed a beautiful wrestling competition in the place where the ashes of kaurava’s and pandavs were immersed in the epic “Mahabharat”. It is also the place most loved to Lord Shiva on the banks of the sacred river Ganga.
All thanks to Netaji Kunwar Singh Tanwar and his team, Vishwas Pahlwan, Lala Pahlwan, Bheem Pahlwan who organised the competition.
The first prize match for Rs one lakh was between Rajiv Tomar of Guru Hanuman Akhada and Basant of Chhtrsaal Stadium. Both are very good heavyweight wrestlers and their match was inaugurated by the dignitaries. It wa a quick match as Tomar used a technique called dhobi to put Bansal on his back and pin him.
The second prize match was between vikrant pahlwan of guru hanuman akhada and Vikas of Bhivani Haryana. Vikas ground his knee into his opponent’s head to block his movement as he pulled him up and turned him onto his back to get the pin and the victory.
In other matches, sillu pahlwan of siraspur was defeated by anuj of guru hanuman akhada, and there was one match between kapil and anil was declared a draw.
Wrestler Sintu Gujjar pahwlan of Dagarpur village son of Leelu pramkuh pahlwan fought with mula pahlwan of guru hanuman akhada. Both wrestlers fought well and remained equal when time ran out.
Guru Dr. Jabar Singh came with his disciple Alka Tomar and told the public how he felt cheated when Alka missed her Olympic birth. He told people that alka has won medal in every national and international competition except in Olympic.
Guru Prakash Pahlwan Kulhipuria came to see the dangal also and the announcer told a story about how he once wrestled guru chandgi ram ji and his signature technique was called multani. And now he teaches wrestlers at guru hanuman akhada and the dangal committee thanked him.

Many big names in wrestling like Hind kesri bhagat singh, Raju of badri akhada, Ghulam Sabir , Leelu pahlwan, lala pahlwan, suraj pahlwan bheem pahlwan, also came to watch the dangal. Guru Dronacharya Mahasingh Rao ji also came and was honored by the dangal committee. Also all the gurus, khalifas, and coaches of the akharas were welcomed and honored there.
The officers of the police force of Gadh were also honored. The announcer told people how once the inspector was shot by criminals and almost lost his life. He was cheered for his efforts to keep the peace. Gurus of the brij ghat were also honored with a pagri. I was also cheered up for my services to Indian wrestling and given with a pagri and cash prize. I offer all my thank to the dangal committee.

JAMMU: The 58th Annual Moori Kesari Vishal Dangal, organised by Moori Dangal Committee under the aegis of J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association, shall take place on 14th April near Middle School Moori, near Domail in district Reasi. About 70 wrestlers from within and outside the State, including those from belt forces, are expected to participate for different bouts in this Dangal.
“For smooth conduct of the event, a Technical Committee has been set up with Om Parkash, Virender Kumar, Pappu Lakri, Vijay Singh (Biju), Rajinder Kumar, Chuni Lal, Mohd. Fareed and Romesh Chander as Members,” informed President of the Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma. For this Dangal, funds amounting to Rs 1.5 lakh have been raised out of the contributions by the locals by Moori Dangal Committee.

शहीद ताराचंद पहलवान की याद में - गाँव में दंगल - 23- march- 2013

शहीदों की चिताओं पर लगेंगे हर बरस , मेले वतन पे मरने वालों का यहीं बाकी निशान होगा।

सिसाना हरयाणा में सोनीपत जिले का एक गाँव है, भाई विकास गुलिया ने गाँव में हो रहे एक विशाल दंगल को के लिए आमंत्रित किया उनका तहे दिल से शुक्रिया अदा करता हॊन. गाँव की दंगल कमेटी जिसका नाम जन कल्याण समिति एवं स्पोर्ट्स क्लब सिसाना ( पंजीकृत ) है ने शहीद ताराचंद पहलवान की स्मृति में यह पंद्रहवां विशाल दंगल बड़ी धूम धाम से कराया। 12 अप्रैल 1989 को ताराचंद पहलवान शहीद हुए थे , उस दिन उनकी पोस्टिंग अम्बाला कचहरी में थी जिस पर उस दिन आतंकियों ने हमला कर , दिया ताराचंद पहलवान ने अपने सहयोगियों के साथ मिलकर दो आतंकियों को कब्जे में किया , लेकिन उसी समय एक तीसरे आतंकी ने घाट लगा कर हमला किया और एक गोली शहीद ताराचंद जी के सर में लगी और उन्होंने वहीँ प्राण त्याग दिए , उनकी इस कुर्बानी को गाँव और आस पास के लोग आज भी याद कर गौरवान्वित महसूस करते हैं और उनको सलाम करते हैं। और उनकी याद में प्रति वर्ष यह शानदार दंगल करवाते हैं , इसके बाद रागिनी का भी प्रोग्राम होता हैं। इस प्रोग्राम में देश भर से पहलवान आकर हिस्सा लेते हैं और अपने कुश्ती के जौहर दिखा कर दर्शकों का मनोरंजन करते हैं।

31000/- के इनाम पर इस बार दंगल की पहली कुश्ती सत्यवर्त पहलवान और बाँध के सुरजीत पहलवान के बीच हुई, सत्यवर्त पहवान ने सुरजीत को अंकों के आधार पर हरा कर कुश्ती, इनाम और गुर्ज अपने नाम किया , इसी प्रकार दंगल की दूसरी कुश्ती नरेश अखाडा के भोला और मेहरसिंह अखाडा के सोनू के बीच हुई जो की भोला ने जीती , तीसरे वर्ग में 11000/- के इनाम पर अजीत छत्रसाल और मंजीत रंगीला अखाडा के बीच हुई जो की बराबर रही . दंगल में अनेकों कुश्तिया हुई बल पहलवानों के लिए 100X20, सब जूनियर के लिए 300X15, जूनियर्स के लिए 500X10, अच्छे पहलवानों के लिए 1100X10 और 2100X15, अछ्छे पहलवानों के लिए 3100X10 श्रेष्ठ पहलवानों के लिए 5100 की पांच कुश्तिया रखी गई, दंगल बाल पहलवानों के लिए तो चित्त पट , लेकिन अच्छे पहलवानों के लिए अंको के आधार पर रखा , गया जिससे में फैसले हो सकें और आधुनिक कुश्ती को बढ़ावा मिले।

अनूप पहलवान जी ने बताया की मेरे मुख्य उद्धेश्य बच्चों को खेलों और रचनात्मक कार्यों से जोड़ना व् नशे जैसे चीज़ों से दूर रख कर अपने समाज कर नव निर्माण करना हैं,

दंगल में , कमेटी ने मुख्य अतिथियों श्री हरिओम कौशिक जी, पहलवान वजीर , , प्रताप पहलवान, , प्रधान दहिया जी, राष्ट्रिय कोच अनूप जी, क्रिशन पहलवान जी, नरेंदर पहलवान जी, जोगिन्दर पहलवान जी, सूरज पहलवान जी, और सभी कोच , खलीफाओं व् गुरु का पहाड़ी पहना कर स्वागत किया , और मोमेंटो प्रदान किये , उनके द्वारा मुझे प्रदान किया मोमेंटो और पगड़ी मेरे लिए अमूल्य धरोहर है, और सम्मान की राशी मेरे दंगल के खर्चों को पूरा गई जिसके लिए मई तहे दिल से आभारी हूँ, दंगल कमेटी ने , आखिरी कुश्ती के बाद , सभी दर्शकों, पहलवानों, गुरु, खलीफाओं और मीडिया का स्वागत किया , और दंगल की शोभा बढ़ने के लिए धन्यवाद देकर जैकारा बोल दिया .

ENGLISH VERSION

Sisana is a village of district Sonipat in the state of Haryana. The village dangal committee organized a local wrestling competition in the memory of martyr Shaheed Tarachand Pahlwan ji. Shaheed Tarachand Pahlwan ji was a policeman and was posted at the Ambala Session Courts on 12th April 1989 when armed terrorists attacked the court. Tarachand Pahlwan bravely defended the court and subdued two of the terrorists, but he sustained a gunshot wound to the head from a third terrorist and was killed.

Shaheed Tarachand Pahlwan ji was also a national level wrestler and his village honors his great sacrifice each year with a wrestling competition, to keep his memory alive.
The competition was organized by the Jan Kalyan Samiti & Sports Club, Village Sisana.

The first prize match for Rs. 31000/- was won by wrestler Satyvart, who defeated his opponent, Surjeet of Bandh on points. Satyvart is a very good wrestler and recently he won the best wrestler title of India called Rustam-e- Hind.

The Second Prize match of Rs 21000/- was between Bhola of Naresh akhada and Sonu of Mehrsing akhada. Bhola won the bout on points.

The third prize match of Rs. 11000/- was between Ajeet of chhtrsaal vs Manjeet of rangeela akhada. The match was a draw.

There were many more matches like for children 100X20 matches, 300X15 matches for juniors, 500X10 matches for sub juniors, 1100X10 matches for cadets, 2100X15 matches for bright juniors, 3100X10 for senior boys, and 5100X5 for the best boys of seniors.

The dangal committee honored guests Shree Hariom Kaushik ji, pahlwan, wazir pahlwan, pratap pahlwan, pradhan dahiya ji, national coach anup singh, krishan pahlwan, narender pahlwan, joginder pahlwan , suraj pahwlan, the pradhan and guru khalifa of the village. I was also awarded a cash honorarium, which I was grateful for as it covered for my transportation expenses. The committee thanked the spectators, wrestlers, and village people for putting on such a good show and announced another event would be organized next year.

The dangal is being organized on the eve of Baisakhi Festival is the memory of great Saint, Warrior and Martyr Baba Banda Bahadur Ji.
The decision for organizing the said Vishal Dangal was taken in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Shiv Kumar Sharma, President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. The members who attended the meeting were Baba Jatinder Paul Singh Sodhi Gaddi Nasheen, Dera Baba Banda Bahadur and Baba Bahadur Sikh Samardai Malik Ram Lubhaya Paruthi (Chairman) Sant Kumar Juneja (President), V.P Makar, Sanjay Kumar and Mohan Singh.
Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India and Member J&K State Sports Council said that Dangal is being organized by Dera Baba Banda Bahadur Parbandhak Committee, and Baba Banda Bahadur Sikh Samardai under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. Shiv Kumar Sharma while giving the detail of Dangal said about 60-65 from within and outside the State are going to take part in the Vishal Dangal.
Sharma said J&K Wrestlers like Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Roun-Domail, Ramnagar, Bahmag, Reasi, Jhajjar kotli, BSF, JKP, Jindrah have confirmed their entries while from outside the Wrestlers from Amritsar, Jullandhar, U.P, Ludhiana, Delhi, Haryana, H.P, and Dera Baba Nanak are likely to be participate in the Vishal Dangal.
Sharma said it was also decided in the meeting to honour the best Wrestler of the Dangal with “22nd Dera Kesari 2013”. He will be awarded hand some cash prize in addition to Traditional silver Gurj (Gadda) and Patta.” Sharma said the decision of the referee in every bout will be final and dangal is organized on Mud Akhara on the bank of holy river Chenab.
He said all the wrestlers who come over there will get chance to participate may be they are local or outsiders, Wrestlers will get handsome cash prizes, Vetern Wrestlers, ustad and technical officials will also be honoured.

JAMMU, Apr 3: 15th annual Chhourta Kesari Dangal will be organised ` at Chhourta in Dansal on April 10.
The decision for organizing the said Dangal at Chhourta was taken in a meeting held at Katra under the chairmanship of Shiv Kumar Sharma President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
The members who attended the meeting were Sham Lal Sharma, Subash Chander Sharma, Sunder Singh, Surinder Sharma, Romesh Chander, Prittam Singh and Swarn Singh, Mohinder Paul Bhagat and Badri Singh.
Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also Treasure Indian Style Wrestling Association of India and Member J&K State Sports Council said a note able feature of this Dangal is that bring conducted regularly at Chhourta for Last 15 years. Sharma said it is decided in the meeting to honour the best wrestler of the Dangal with “15th Chhourta Kesari 2013” title, he would be awarded with traditional Patta along with handsome cash prize. Mr. Sharma said the Dangal is organized on traditional “Mud Akhara” and the decision of the referee in every bout will be final.

हाल ही में बुलंदशहर , उत्तर प्रदेश के नजदीक पछोता गाँव में पहुंचा, कुश्ती दंगल की एक शानदार श्रृंखला में पछोता का दंगल बेहतरीन था। दंगल परिसर तक पहुँचने में समय लगा और दंगल में कुश्तियां शुरू हो चुकी थी , दंगल में बेहतरीन पहलवान भाग लेने पहुंचे थे , डगरपुर से सिंटू पहलवान, बमेठा , और सर्फाबाद से सोनू पंडित अदन , सदन , विजयपाल , बाबर पिंटू , कपिल जैसे पहलवान , दिल्ली के कई अखाड़ों और छत्रसाल स्टेडियम और रेलवे अखाडा से भी पहलवान कुश्ती दंगल में भाग लेने पहुंचे। दंगल में प्रदेश के पुलिस एस पी व् उनकी श्रीमती जो की रेलवे में आई आर एस हैं ने दंगल में मुख्य अतिथि का भर ग्रहण किया , उन्होंने पहलवानों को अपनी तरफ से इनाम भी बांटे। दंगल में आस पास के सभी गुरु खलीफा भी पहुंचे और उनका तथा मुख्या अतिथि का पगड़ी पहना कर सम्मान किया गया। खलीफा बुध सिंह ने रेफरी का पद भार संभाला। सर्फ़ अखाड़े के कोच भूपिंदर को उनके अखाड़े के पहलवानों ने पगड़ी और 5100/- रूपये नकद देकर सम्मान किया। सोनू पहलवान की कुश्ती देखने लाइक थी उन्होंने अपने प्रतिद्वंदी राजू पहलवान पर कई अटैक लगाए जिसका उन्होंने खूबसूरती से बचाव किया और एक बार राजू पहलवान ने बड़ी खूबसूरती से टांग मारकर सोनू कर चित्त किया। इसी प्रकार सर्फाबाद के ही पहलवान बाबू की कुश्ती रेलवे अखाड़े के अमित से हुई , कुश्ती में बेहतरीन कला कौशल का प्रदर्शन देखने को मिला और उसमे अमित ने बाबु को तेज चलती कुश्ती में ढाक पर चित्त किया। भागलपुर के जामु और सर्फाबाद के संजय की कुश्ती बराबर रही , इसी प्रकार भूप पहलवान और ढोलू पहलवान भी बराबर रहे , सर्फाबाद के अदन छुट्टी के अच्छे पहलवान है , उनके कुश्ती बमेठा के कपिल से हुई, कुश्ती में लोगों ने अदन के फाउल खेलने पर आपत्ति जताई , जब अदन ने मुंह पर जबरदस्ती पट्टी खींचने की कोशिश की , उन्होंने कपिल को नीचे लिटा तोड़ कर चित्त किया। इस कुश्ती पर एस पी साहब ने अपनी तरफ से अदन पहलवान को 2100/- रुपये का इनाम दिया , वे कुश्ती प्रेमी हैं और निश्चित तौर पर प्रशंशा के पात्र है, ऐसे ही महानुभावों ने पहलवानों को अच्छी कुश्ती दिखने के लिए प्रेरित किया हैं। बाबर एक बहुत अच्छे पहलवान हैं उन्होंने दंगल में किसी भी पहलवान को लड़ने के लिए ललकारा जिस पर बहुत से पहलवान उनसे लड़ने को तैयार हुए , दंगल कमिटी ने उनकी कुश्ती सिंटू गुर्जर के साथ तै की , ऐसा लगता था की बाबर किसी और से लड़ना चाहते थे , पर कमेटी अपने निर्णय पर रही , दोनों की कुश्ती पूरे बीस मिनट चली जिसमे दोनों पहलवानों ने दिखाया की वो कितने अच्छे बेहतरीन पहलवान हैं और अपने बेहतरीन गुरु खलीफाओं द्वारा तैयार किये गए हैं , कभी बाबर अटैक लगता तो फुर्ती से सिंटू करता , इसी प्रकार सिंटू के अटैक को बाबर ने बड़ी खूबसूरती से बचाया , दोनों पहलवान बड़ी शांति , और लय के साथ कुश्ती कला का प्रदर्शन करते रहे और दर्शक सांस थामे मुकाबले के निर्णय का इंतज़ार करते रहे , बीस मिनट पूरे होते -२ दोनों पहलवान पसीने में नहा चुके थे , इसलिए रेफरी ने सीटी बजाई और मुकाबले को बराबर का घोषित ,किया देखने की बात ये रही की अखाडा बड़ा था और कोई बाहर भाग कर भी नहीं जा सकता था क्योंकि तीन बार बहार भागने पर कुश्ती को प्रतिद्वंदी के पक्ष में देने का दंगल कमिटी का निर्णय था। ऐसी ही एक कुश्ती सद्दान पहलवान और अखाडा डेसू के कृषण के बीच हुई पूरे बीस मिनट कुश्ती में कृषण दो बार और सदन एक बार बाहर निकले , अंत में कुश्ती बराबर रही, बड़ी कुश्ती में विजयपाल ने छत्रसाल के एक पहलवान के साथ दम ख़म दिखाना ही शुरू किया था की अंधड़ चलने लगा और कमेटी ने कुश्ती को बराबर घोषित कर जयकारा बोल दिया ,

The village of Pachota in Uttar Pradesh hosted a great dangal featuring some of the top wrestling talent in the region, including sintu pahlwan from dagarpur, sonu pandit, adan, sadan, vijay pal, babar, bhoop pahlwan from bametha and sarfabad, amit from railway akhada, krishan from desu, and a wrestler from chatrsaal.

The area superintendent of police along with his wife and I.R.S. officer with railway were honored as chief guests and they even distributed prizes to wrestlers from their own pockets. All the gurus, khalifa, and me also were given pagadi thanks to the village committee of pachota. Wrestlers of sarfabad akhada honored their coach bhupinder pahlwan with Rs. 5100/- cash and a pagadi.

Sonu Pahlwan wrestled a tough match against Raju Pahlwan of bametha. Sonu attacked Raju many times but he defended beautifully and pinned Sonu. Babu of sarfabad fought with wrestler amit of akhada railway, babu was in control for most of the match, but a very fast move by amit caught him offguard. Amit took him to the ground and pinned him. In other matches, jamu of bhagalpur wrestled sanjay of sarfabad, but the match was declared a draw. Bhoop pahlwan took on dholu, but that match was also a draw.

Wrestler Adan defeated Kapil of Bametha and the chief guest gave 2100/- cash to him. In another match, Babar challenged anybody in the competition to wrestle him and many wrestlers wanted a chance to take on the famous wrestler. But the village committee decided to match him with the sintu pahwlan of U.P. Their match went on for full 20 minutes. Both the wrestlers were exhausted so the referee called the bout a draw. Likewise, sadan and krishan of desu remained equal after wrestling for the full alloted time. The headline match was between vijay pal pahlwan and a wrestler from chhtrsaal akhda, but it had to be called off because there were heavy winds and a big storm was approaching.

भैंसवाल गाँव का दंगल

पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश में शामली कस्बा है , वहीँ कांधला के पास भैंसवाल नामक गाँव है। इसी गाँव के देवराज पहलवान हाल ही में आर्मी से सेवा निवृत्त हुए हैं , उन्हें पहलवानी से लगाव है,और उन्होंने अपने गाँव में बच्चों को पहलवानी के गुर सिखाने के लिए एक अखाडा भी खोला है। उनसे बातचीत में उन्होंने बताया की वो अपने गाँव और आस पास के बच्चों को नशे और गन्दी आदतों से दूर रखना चाहते हैं, जिससे उनका सर्वांगीण विकास हो , इसके लिए ही उन्होंने पहलवानी को चुना। इसी लिए उन्होंने इस बार दूसरी बार अपने गाँव में दंगल करवाया। दिल्ली और आस पास के क्षेत्र में प्रदूषण का माहौल है और उत्तर परदेश के भीतरी इलाकों में हरियाली है, और सड़कों के किनारे हरियाले छाया दार वृक्ष देख कर मन खुश हो गया। भैंसवाल गाँव पहुँच कर एक मित्र के घर पर रुके , कुछ चाय नाश्ता कर दंगल के स्थान पर पहुंचे। देवराज पहलवान दंगल के संचालन में मशगूल थे , उनसे मुलाकात कर बहुत अच्छा लगा , उन्होंने दंगल में हमारा स्वागत किया और स्थान ग्रहण करने के लिए कहा। दूर दराज से पहलवान लोग दंगल में भाग लेने आये थे , अखाड़े के बिलकुल नजदीक बैठे लोगों से लेकर दूर दूर तक दशकों से दंगल का मैडल खचाखच भरा था, वो अपने पसंदीदा पहलवान की कुश्ती पर दाद देते , तालियाँ पीटते और खूब शोर मचाते इस प्रकार दंगल में उनका भरपूर मनोरंजन पहलवान कर रहे थे। दिल्ली के जीतू पहलवान और उत्तर प्रदेश के पंकज राणा की पहली कुश्ती बड़ी शानदार हुई, पंकज राणा निस्संदेह जीतू से बढ़िया पहलवान रहे , उन्होंने अपने भरपूर कला कौशल का प्र्यॊग किया पर कुश्ती जीतने में नाकामयाब रहे , कई बार रेफरी ने उन्हले फ़ाउल खेलने के लिए चेतावनी भी दी। जींद के मुख्तियार काफी पुराने पहलवान है, वो बड़े वजन में है नसीम से उनकी अच्छी कुश्ती चली, बहार भागते नसीम को उन्होंने कई बार चित्त करने की कोशिस की लेकिन नाकाय्माब रहे। सूरज पहलवान की लड़की हाल ही में राजस्थान केसरी बनी है, देवराज पहलवान चाहते थे की समाज की पुरानी जर्जर बेड़ियाँ तोड़ , उत्तर परदेश के गाँव में महिला पहलवानों की कुश्ती करा एक नया इतिहास बनाएं लेकिन इसी सिलसिले में लड़कियों का भी इनामी दंगल रखा गया लेकिन, दिव्या सेन के अलावा अन्य महिला पहलवानों का आगमन न हुआ , दिव्या सैन ने अपनी कुश्ती दिखाने के लिए लड़कों से तक लड़ने की इच्छा जाहिर की लेकिन उनका प्रतिद्वंदी न मिला , देश की इस होनहार बेटी को , देवराज ने पहलवान ने उचित नकद इनाम देकर सम्मान किया। और उम्मीद की की अगली बार अवश्य लड़कियां भी दंगल में भाग लेंगी जिसका मुझे भी इन्तेजार , रहेगा की किस उत्तर परदेश के जन मानस में महिलाओं के लिए खेलों में हिस्सा लेने के लिए रुझान पहले से बेहतर हैं। मुलायम पहलवान जूनियर पहलवानों की केटेगरी में अछे पहलवान थे , शुभम पहलवान से उनकी अछि कुश्ती हुई दोनों ने श्रेष्ठ कुश्ती कला का पर्दर्शन किया और दर्शकों का भरपूर मनोरंजन किया। करतार सिंह भडाना जी और उनके हेलीकाप्टर ने दंगल को यादगार बना , दिया पहलवानों के लिए और देवराज जी के निमन्तरण पर उनका हेलीकाप्टर ठीक दंगल के बराबर खेत में उतरा , उन्होंने बहुत थोडा सा समय दर्शकों को संबोधित किया, दंगल कमेटी को इकतीस हज़ार का सहयोग दिया। भैन्स्वाल गाँव के लोगों ने दंगल में विशेष सहयोग दिया, शांति और अमन के साथ दंगल में बैठने और पहलवानों के बीच कुश्ती कराने की व्यस्था शानदार थी और शान्ति के साथ दंगल संपन्न हुआ। देवराज पहलवान ने सभी अतिथियों , बतीस खाप के प्रधानो , व् बत्तीस खाप के सरपंच का दंगल में स्वागत किया , सभी गुरु खलीफाओं का उचित सम्मान किया , दूर दराज से आये पहलवानों के किराये भाड़े व् खान पान का उचित प्रबंध किया जिसके लिए वें बधाई के पात्र हैं।

ENGLISH VERSION

Wrestling is in Devraj Pahalwan’s blood. And following a long stint in the Army, he has returned to his village of Bhainswal in Uttar Pradesh to teach the local boys the art of Indian wrestling. Devraj Pahalwan has also started a great annual dangal. This is the second year in a row that it has been held. Wrestlers from many states came to compete in the competition. Delhi and the surrounding areas are very polluted so it was literally a breath of fresh air to come to Bhainswal. When we reached the village a friend of mine took us to his home and there we took some rest and ate some food, after that we reached the venue where the dangal was starting.

SUBHASH VERMA
Olympic wrestler Subhash Verma was one of the main guests. He was welcomed by the people of the area and by the dangal committee and was asked to speak a few words for the wrestlers and the fans. Subhash Verma said that all wrestlers need to work hard to achieve their goals. He said when he was a young wrestler, he trained in Spartan facilities and ate simple food, but his determination allowed him to succeed.
Just before the wrestling began, Devraj welcomed the village people, and the heads of 32 tribes of his community. He honored gurus, khalifa, coaches, and wrestlers and announced that the dangal would be held for 3 full days next year.

JEETU PAHLWAN VS PANKAJ RANA.
Pankaj Rana is a very good wrestler. Last year he defeated a bigger opponent to win first, which is called chute ki kushti. The announcer introduced Pawan Rana to the crowd and asked an challengers to come forward for the first prize match. Nobody dared to accept the challenge. But when Devraj Pahlwan asked who has come from Delhi to wrestle, obviously it was Jeetu Pahlwan and he asked Jeetu to take on Pankaj Rana. That is how the match was organized. The two wrestlers shook hand and charged at each other. Pankaj Rana was so sure of his success that he became frustrated that he couldn’t defeat Jeetu easily and was cautioned by the referees many times for rule violations. Even I cautioned Pankaj Rana many times. In the end, Pankaj Ran was unable to pin Jeetu and the match was declared a draw. The crowd enjoyed the match and Jeetu earned great respect for holding his own against the champion. Devraj Pahlwan invited Jeetu to come next year.

MUKHTIYAR PAHLWAN OF JIND AND NASEEM PAHLWAN OF SHAMLI.
Mukhtiyar is a great heavyweight wrestler, but that didn’t deter Naseem Pahlwan, a much smaller wrestler, from challenging him. The match lasted for 20 minutes and both the wrestlers put on a very good show. Mukhtiyar took Naseem down many times, but despite his weight advantage, could not pin the smaller wrestler. In the end the match was called a draw.

DEV SAIN VS MULAYAM PAHLWAN
Both junior wrestlers fought well. At one point, it seemed Mulayam had Dev Sain pinned, but he managed to escape and after 10 minutes of wrestling, the match was declared a draw.
KARTAR SINGH BHADANA AND HIS HELICOPTOR.
Kartar Singh Bhadana is a great leader and an ardent kushti fan. He made a dramatic appearance at the dangal hovered overhead in a helicopter before landing in a nearby field. He praised Devraj Pahlwan for his efforts and gave Rs 31000/- as his contribution. Then he got back in his helicopter and flew away.

DIVYA SAIN THE GIRL WRESTLER
Devraj Pahwlan also invited women wrestlers, but only Divya Pahlwan, daughter of Suraj Pahlwan, showed up. Seeing that there was no other female wrestler, she said she would accept the challenge of any male wrestler in her weight category. No one took the challenge, but Devraj Pahlwan honored her with 2100/- rupees and a trophy.

इस बार सोहना का दंगल शानदार रहा , पहली कुश्ती अजय पहलवान ने गुरु हनुमान अखाड़े से दुष्यंत जैसे दिग्गज पहलवान को उलटी दांव पे चित्त कर सनसनी फैला दी। हंसराज पहलवान ने दंगल का संचालन चिर परिचित अंदाज में शानदार तरीके से किया। दंगल में अनेकों पहलवान आते हैं पर हरेक पर उनकी पैनी नज़र रहती हैं, किसने कितनी कुश्तियां लड़ी, कौन हार कौन जीता कौन सा पहलवान कितने वजन का है, और कितने इनाम का है, आदि आदि, कुछ भी उनकी नज़र से नहीं बचता , मेरा दिल खोल कर उन्होंने उत्साह वर्धन तो किया ही , मुझे अगले दंगल में आने का न्योता भी ,दिया उनका आभारी हूँ। दंगल में राजिंदर पहलवान, हरिपाल पहलवान , मन्नू विशिस्ट अतिथियों में विराज मान रहे उनका हंसराज पहलवान ने पगड़ी और शाल देकर स्वागत किया। पहलवानों को अच्छे जांघ लंगोट उपलब्ध करा रहे सूरज पहलवान जिन्होंने अपने तीनो बच्चों को पहलवानी में लगा रखा है, और हाल ही में उनकी लड़की राजस्थान केसरी , और अंडर -19 में स्टेट कुश्तियों में फर्स्ट आई उनका भी स्वागत किया गया। गुरु श्यामलाल अखाड़े से मोगली की कुश्ती सोहना के ही पहलवान से अच्छी चली जिसमे अंत में मोगली विजयी रहे। मोनू पहलवान ने दो कुश्तिया लड़ी पहली कुश्ती वो जीते और दूसरी कुश्ती सोहना के ही रविंदर से रही जो काफी देर तक चली , दोनों पहलवानों ने एक दुसरे को पटखनी देने की भरपूर कोशिस की पर सफल न हो ,सके अंत में कुश्ती बराबर छोडनी पड़ी। अच्छे मौसम में दर्शकों ने कुश्ती का भरपूर आनंद लिया , उनकी तस्वीरें भी लाजवाब हैं, जैसे ही मैं दर्शकों के पास जाता वो फोटो खिचवाने के लिए उत्सुक हो जाते , इस काम में मुझे भरपूर आनंद आया। मेवात में लोगों के ख़ास चेहरे हैं, जिन्हें आप फोटो में देखिये। इस दंगल में अखाडा काफी बड़ा बनाया जाता हैं, जिससे कोई भी पहलवान बहार भाग कर कुश्ती बराबर नहीं ले सकता। इसी प्रकार की एक कुश्ती में गुरु हनुमान अखाड़े के मंदीप ने अपने प्रतिद्वंदी को सेकंडों में चित कर खूब तालियाँ बटोरी। गुरु श्याम लाल अखाड़े के अच्छे पहलवान जीतू की कुश्ती उत्तर प्रदेश चिरोड़ी गाँव के चुन्नू से हुई, कुश्ती में जीतू ने चुन्नू को आसानी से हरा कर इनाम अपने कब्जे में किया। सोहना के ही जितेंदर पहलवान की कुश्ती एक मंझे पहलवान से हुई जो बहुत देर तक चली पर फैसला न हुआ। सोहना में कुश्तियों के इस शानदार आयोजन के लिए भाई हंसराज को ढेरों बधाइयाँ

ENGLISH VERSION

This year’s Dangal at Sohna was a grand success. The Dangal was coordinated by Hansraj Pahlwan of Guru Inder Akhada in Sohna. Hansraj is very skilled at organizing wrestling competitions. He keeps track of all the wrestlers, the prizes that have been awarded and knows which are the best wrestlers in the dangal. He speaks with great authority and gives stern warnings to wrestlers who violate any rules. He graciously welcomed me and announced my name many times, for this I am very grateful to him.
The first prize match was between local wrestler Ajay Pahlwan and Dushyant of Guru Hanuman Akhada in Delhi. Dushyant is very good wrestler, but Ajay overcame the odds and defeated him. It was a great feat and the whole wrestling fraternity was very proud of him.
In another match, Jitu Pahlwan of Guru Shyam lal Akhada scored another victory, easily pinning Chunnu of Chiradi Village in Uttar Prrdesh.
Moughli of Guru Shyam lal Akhada pinned a wrestler from Sohna Akhada and then went on to defeat another opponent in two great matches that got the crowd cheering.
Monu of Fatehpur village pinned one opponent, but his match with Ravinder of Sohna, was declared a draw after the wrestled the allotted time. Both are very good and skilled wrestlers.
A very good wreslter named Mandeep pinned his opponent in seconds, drawing huge cheers from the crowd.
The wrestling ground was very large, which made the matches more exciting because the wrestlers couldn’t escape the pit, so they had to stay aggressive through the whole match. As a result, more of the matches were decided by pins.
The main guests were Choudhry Haripal Pahlwan, Choudhry Rajinder Pahlwan and Mannu Bhai. They all were given traditional headgear, or pagadi, and traditional shawl. Suraj bhai, who makes quality wrestling gear and whose three children, including his daughter Divya, are all wrestlers, was also honored by the dangal committee.
The dangal concluded peacefully and successfully. Hansraj Pahlwan deserves all the praise and thanks for this.

WRESTLING PROTEST IN DELHI ON 23 MARCH

On 23rd March the day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Diwas. Wrestling fraternity of India is organizing a protest march in Indian Capital New Delhi. Starting from Ram Leela Ground to Jantar Mantar against the removal of Wrestling from Olympics.
It will start from Ram leela ground New Delhi at 2.30 pm and will march to Jantar Mantar. There will be a small demo of this Gladiatoral sport at Jantar Mantar.

Ransoo/ Jammu, March 12 (Scoop News) -Wrestler Benia of J&K Police of Basantgarh Patha, Mohd Sadiq Pahalwan lifted “15th Shiv Khori Kesari title 2013” by defeating Wrestler Parveen of Ladopur, Akhara Haryana in a neck to neck contest that lasted at Ransoo, the base camp of Shiv Khori Shrine Board in Pouni Block of Reasi District last evening.

As a part of famous and historic Shiv Khori Mela, Vishal Dangal was organized by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with J&K Tourism Department, Ransoo Dangal Committee and District Administration, Reasi under the overall supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma.

Tehsildar (S), Reasi, R.K Anand ( Mela officer) was the chief guest on the occasion. President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association who is also member J&K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma Presided over the function.

Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India Shiv Kumar Sharma and President Ransoo Dangal Committee Kewal Krishan gave Rs 13,000/- cash prize money to wrestler Benia winner of 1st malli in addition to “Silver Gurj (Gadda) and Patta”besides Rs 12,000/- given to runner up Wrestler Parveen by Sarpanch Paul Chand and Sarpanch Shamsher Singh.

President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association thanked the Minister of Tourism, Deputy Commissioner Reasi and Deputy Director Tourism for their support to the indigenous game of Wrestling.

In all 34 bouts were played in the Vishal Dangal. Suraj of Goal Bagh Stadium Amritsar won the 2nd main bout by defeated Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhalwal Jammu while Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhalwal Jammu remained the winner of 3rd main bout. 4Th bout was won by Chottu who defeated Hoshier Singh of Mahore. In other bouts Arjun of Jammu beat Rohit of Amritsar, Kala of Pahtankote beat Soffi of Domana and Surjeet Singh of Kalakote beat Baba of Domana.

Among others, DSP, CRFF, Rajinder Singh, Retd Lecturer Mubarik Singh, Sarpanches and Panches were also present in the occasion.
