Twitter revamps a few pages, and Flickr adds Tweeting support

Users of the popular micro-blogging service Twitter will be glad to see a fresh interface for the ‘Followers’ and ‘Following’ pages, which was rolled out on Wednesday.

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone announced on the blog that the site has changed the look of the two pages, allowing users to see their friends through an ‘Expanded’ view (displays Twitter handle, location and last update) or a ‘List’ view (displays Twitter handle only).

Also, the ‘Action’ button found on each contact has got increased functionality, with the ability to turn on SMS, unfollow, mention, block, direct message and more.

Meanwhile, photo-sharing site Flickr has acknowledged the growing popularity of Twitter by unveiling the Flickr2Twitter integration, with which users can upload directly to Flickr and Twitter simultaneously, or tweet a photo already on Flickr, using a special short Flic.kr URL.

Set-up is a bit of a pain, as you will have to add Twitter to the ‘Add a blog page’ in your Flickr, authorize it, and then save the address on your mobile or email.

It’s a bit irritating that when messaging, the usual 160 characters also gets cut down to a mere 116 for the Tweet, while the rest is reserved for the URL itself.

Google Buzz, Google's new social networking service announced this week, isn't particularly original. Just like Facebook and Twitter, it lets you share links, updates and media with friends. Even so, it'll probably be a moderate success. Google Buzz is perhaps the most generic "social sharing" service launched to date. Users can enable the service in their Gmail accounts to share status updates, photos, videos and more with the group of people they e-mail most often. Friends can also comment on these updates or "like" them to express approval. There isn't a great deal of innovation here; early adopters will remember FriendFeed, an identical service acquired by Facebook last year . While FriendFeed built a strong technology platform with an advanced search engine, it failed to achieve significant mainstream success. The site's features are instead being integrated into Facebook, where FriendFeed's talented engineers and Facebook's massive reach (more than 400 million users at last count) combine for maximum effect. Good technology has value, but leading social networks require "network effects." Facebook is infinitely more valuable because all your friends are on it. Facebook has leveraged this "critical mass" of users to stay ahead of new rivals, too.
Why visit Twitter, you may ask, when Facebook has continually extended its feature set to keep up with its less popular competitor? The story of social networks is in fact a story about network effects: How can a service reach a point at which there are enough users and content to be useful? YouTube achieved this trick by providing embedded videos for MySpace and blogs, siphoning off members along the way. MySpace eventually chose to block YouTube links and build a rival video service, but the move came much too late to halt YouTube's rise. Photobucket, meanwhile, became one of the world's largest photo sites by providing photo hosting to MySpace users; MySpace parent Fox Interactive Media (now News Corp. Digital Media) acquired the service in 2007. New version of Gmail being tested

Gmail was launched on April 1, 2004, and has revolutionized the way many of us use email. The interface has remained largely untouched since it launched, but get ready, it’s soon to undergo a change in what they describe as a “New Version”. Only a select few people have access to use the new interface — mainly employees and trusted people outside the company called “Trusted Testers“.

Unfortunately, there are no leaked screenshots to look at yet, but if you are one of the lucky few testers, I would love to take a peek.

How do I know they are working on a “New Version”? Well, Google lets every-day users who are fluent in both English and another language translate small snippets of English text into the language of their choice. This is how they can offer services in several languages without spending a dime on professional translators. Unfortunately, exposing sensitive information in this manner makes it hard to keep a secret.

One of my readers, who wishes to remain anonymous, stumbled across an interesting snippet of text (which I confirmed exists) spilling the beans on a new version of Gmail that is either currently being tested, or about to be released to testing in short order. It’s small, but telling — here is a screenshot of the text he was asked to translate.

A large hat tip to Mashable and Starbucks for getting andpublishing some amazing new pictures of the coming Twitter Contributer API.

The Contributer API is the first of a coming string of updates to allow businesses to better manage their corporate accounts. This of course puts pressure on the current players in that market, such as CoTweet.

Up until today, we only had one small image that was, well generic to say the least. Uncovered today are a slew of much better screenshots. The API has two sides, what the consumer sees, and what the author sees.

From the consumer side, a tweet from a multi-user account looks like this:

Of course, it has to be made simple to switch between accounts, so Twitter built a new top-screen bar to handle it. Looks quite simple, you would think that with $150 million they could have been more creative.

And that is about it, a simple way for accounts to be authored by multiple users on Twitter. Nothing special, but damn time Twitter made a move towards making money. I’ll bet that their investors are gad, given that the websites traffic has flatlined.

The moment you stop growing, you have to make money. One or the other, it seems in the world of internet companies.

Intel faces challenges in Windows 7 migration

Intel faces challenges in migrating from Windows XP to Windows 7, including application incompatibility and system readiness, the company said on Wednesday.

Intel worked with Microsoft to develop Windows 7 into a stable operating system, but there is still a lot of heavy lifting involved before migrating PCs to the new OS inside Intel's environment, wrote Intel staff engineer Roy Ubry in a blog entry. Challenges include issues related to backward application compatibility, Web browser support, 64-bit computing and privacy controls.

"It means that a significant amount of work needs to be invested to prepare for Windows 7 application readiness," Ubry wrote.

Intel last year announced it would migrate from the nine-year-old Windows XP OS to Windows 7 OS, skipping Vista, which was released in 2007. Now the company is starting its transition to Windows 7.

One of the biggest issues involves migrating applications that can run natively on Windows XP to Windows 7. The move from Windows XP systems to 64-bit computing in Windows 7 presents an application compatibility challenge while migrating PCs, Ubry wrote.

Windows 7 no longer supports 16-bit programs, and Intel still has many legacy applications that will require the company to support older operating systems.

"Initially, you would think this would not be a big concern; 32 bit computing has been around for many years, and most applications have been ported to 32 bit," Ubry wrote. But for companies that want to migrate to Windows 7, the 16-bit programs will need to be changed to either 32-bit or 64-bit programs.

Another challenge involves the way Windows 7 deals with 32-bit programs. Windows 7 saves 32-bit programs on a different path -- typically in a directory called Program Files (x86) -- from 64-bit programs, which are saved in the Program Files directory. That raises a set of problems while searching for specific applications, Ubry wrote.

"Applications that are hard coded to look for 'Program Files' at runtime will fail when the application is installed in 'Program Files (x86)'," Ubry wrote.

As much of a challenge as it is, the move to 64-bit computing is necessary and timely, Ubry wrote. It prepares Intel for future computing needs and takes advantage of the higher memory capability of systems available on the market today.

Intel has also delayed deployment of Internet Explorer 7 and IE 8, as they are not compatible with specific add-ons and applications written for Internet Explorer 6. Many applications like some Office add-ons and versions of Java are written to run with IE 6, and "mitigation of these issues must be addressed," Ubry wrote.

Intel is also trying to tackle some improved privacy features built into Windows 7 that could create issues when trying to run programs. Microsoft has improved security in Windows 7 with an improved UAC (User Access Control) feature, which seeks permission from a user before providing access to programs. But some programs may not seek user permission and could just fail without warning, Ubry wrote. Microsoft has provided an answer that could remedy the problem with the option to run the program as an administrator.

Skype pulls Windows Mobile VoIP apps

Skype's VoIP apps for the Windows Mobile operating system, Skype Lite and Skype for Windows Phones, are no longer available for download, the company announced, claiming the apps didn't offer a good enough experience.

The popular Internet calling service has seen hurdles in the mobile arena, where its use threatens wireless carriers' business model. On the iPhone calling is limited to Wi-Fi and on Google Android it's even more complicated. But Skype has actually called quits on Windows Mobile for now.

The company wrote on its blog: "Skype Lite only works in a small number of countries. Where it does work, making a call requires you to use up your allocation of minutes from your mobile network, making the Skype-to-Skype calls sort-of-free-per-minute rather than actually-free-per-minute."

The lack of mobile operator partners and the latest version of Windows Mobile have made it difficult for Skype to keep up offering a similar experience across a wide range of handsets, the company claims. Skype didn't mention anything about the declining market share of Windows Mobile devices.

Although Skype has now removed Skype Lite and Skype for Windows Phones downloads from its site, if you already downloaded Skype onto your Windows Mobile phone, the application can still be used indefinitely. Outside the U.S., Skype for Windows Phones is still available for download for now.

It is unclear so far whether Skype is developing a new version of its software for the newly announced Windows Phone 7 Series.

Mobile operators, though, are Skype's solution to a better mobile experience. On step in that direction is the company's new partnership with Verizon in the U.S., which brings the software on range of BlackBerry devices and some Android phones, including the Motorola Droid and Droid Eris from HTC.

Under the new partnership, users can make and receive unlimited free Skype-to-Skype voice calls to anyone around the globe or call regular phone numbers at lower rates.

Google tweaks Gmail for business users

Google has made a much needed update to its Gmail service designed to make it more appealing to business users.

Many users employ Gmail as a hub to send messages as though they are from another account, such as Microsoft Outlook. But their Gmail username is shown in the 'Sender' field of the message as well as the displayed 'From' address.

This meant that the email recipient is given access to the sender's personal Gmail address as well as their corporate account details. Recipients were left confused as to which email account to respond to, and the sender's private Gmail account was exposed.

Google has now said that, instead of using Gmail servers to send the message, it will use the servers at the sender's other email address to prevent the two addresses being shown.

"We heard your request for another option that wouldn't show the 'on behalf of' text loud and clear, and now there's a new option that does just that," said Gmail software engineer Emmanuel Pellereau in a blog post.

Users wanting to turn on the new feature should go to the Gmail Accounts page under Settings, click 'edit info' from the 'Send mail as' section and then the option to 'Use your other email provider's SMTP servers'.

How to Make the Internet a Lot Faster Google's promise of very-high-speed broadband can't just be about big pipes.

Last week, Google announced its plans to build an experimental fiber network that would offer gigabit-per-second broadband speeds to up to 500,000 U.S. homes. Among other goals, the company said it wanted to "test new ways to build fiber networks, and to help inform and support deployments elsewhere."

Google hasn't released many details yet, but experts believe that the key to successful very-high-speed broadband doesn't lie in fiber alone. To really speed up the Internet, Google will have to operate at many levels of its infrastructure.

Gigabit-per-second speeds are much faster than, for example, the speed currently offered by high-speed services such as Verizon FiOS. However, Google's network won't be the first to reach such speeds. There are several such deployments internationally, including in Hong Kong, the Netherlands, and Australia. Internet2, a nonprofit advanced networking consortium in the United States, has been experimenting with very-high-speed Internet for more than a decade, routinely offering 10-gigabit connections to university researchers.

Existing applications for very-high-speed Internet include the transfer of very large files, streaming high-definition (and possibly 3-D) video, video conferencing, and gaming. Some experts speculate that accessing large data files and applications through the cloud may also require better broadband.

"Just big pipes alone to an end user does not necessarily guarantee that you can deliver high-end applications," says Gary Bachula, vice president of external relations for Internet2. There are many factors beyond raw bandwidth, Bachula says. For example, an improperly configured router or a university firewall can affect performance and end up acting as a network bottleneck.

"You need to have open networks, you need to publish your performance data, you need to have people troubleshoot your network remotely," says Bachula. In recent years, Internet2 has been researching tools and technologies that can help find and resolve the performance issues that occur on high-speed connections "in a systematic and seamless way." Ideally, he says, consumers as well as network managers would be able to use these tools to diagnose the network.

Less Is More in Google's OS

"Chromium OS" is the open-source version of the new Chrome OS that Google is developing for netbooks, tablets, and other lightweight machines. It's built from the source code that Google is making widely available, but it runs on standard hardware. Google's Chrome OS, in contrast, is designed to run on a new generation of stripped-down systems. These systems will probably be missing some of that legacy hardware necessary to run Windows, but will make up for this with a somewhat lower cost, lightning-fast boot times, and even some added security measures that will make them practically virus-proof.

You can download and run Chromium OS today if you know where to find it, but be careful. If you just Google for "chrome OS download," you'll probably end up with a modified version of Suse Linux--the "fake Google Chrome OS." Ironically this will run just fine on most netbooks, but you've got to be a Linux master to use it. You can edit files on the Web with Google Docs, or on the local computer with Open Office (which is included), but you need to keep track of where your documents are saved and manually move them back and forth. You can download and install cool programs from Linux software repositories, but there is always a chance that a program that you download might hack your system and steal your data. And you need to remember to run "software update" on a regular basis to install those security patches. In many ways the experience is quite similar to running Microsoft Windows or MacOS.

In contrast, the real Chromium OS is a completely different approach to operating systems. What you get is a whole lot less than a fine Linux distribution with a bunch of open-source software. Perplexingly, this ends up being a whole lot more useful, user-friendly, and secure.

Tools for Putting Web Apps to the Cross-Browser Test

Cross-browser testing for both security and functionality issues is a crucial step for any serious Web application. There are several automated tools out there for assisting the task, including some from open source projects like Selenium. However, several problems remain in cross-platform testing procedures, even with proven tools.

eb-based applications and cloud computing have presented new challenges for software developers. Most software makers are by no means tone-deaf to user concerns about security and usability issues, but even those software writers who are receptive to these worries must contend with hard-to-plug holes that can open up in cross-platform programs such as Web browsers.
For Web app developers, the problems occur on two fronts. Not only do they have to harden the application itself, but they also have to keep up with the occasional new browser release -- updates to Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) Internet Explorer, for instance, as well as frequent version upgrades for Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) Safari, Mozilla's Firefox, Opera, Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Chrome and others.
With more applications built for the Web, cross-browser testing is crucial to application performance. Numerous automated helpers are available from a variety of commercial and community-based software testing tools. For example, over 2 million users have turned to theSelenium Project's open source, cross-browser testing platform to solve the various security and functionality flaws that crop up in software code. Selenium is currently in use at companies such as Google, Yahoo (Nasdaq: YHOO), eBay (Nasdaq: EBAY) and Salesforce.com(NYSE: CRM).
However, several problems remain in cross-platform testing procedures, even with proven tools. Users often require commercial support for Selenium. Others need enhanced features and speed. Other enterprises simply lack the infrastructure for doing their own sophisticated product testing.
Five years ago, Sauce Labs began developing Selenium. More recently, company officials announced a Series A funding round and a new product that merges Selenium with the WebDriver Project. The company also released in early February a free testing tool called "Selenium RC" that allows developers to write automated Web application user interface (UI) tests in any programming language against any HTTP Web site using any mainstream JavaScript-enabled browser.
"We address the routine that each developer faces. It is laborious to make sure that all the patches are current and that the latest software version is installed. Sauce Labs does that for the developers so that problem goes away for them. Developers traditionally struggled in their labs with single versions of a software application," John Dunham, CEO of Sauce Labs, told LinuxInsider.

Twitter tweaks terms of service

Twitter posted changes to its terms of service Thursday, assuring users that they own their tweets while leaving "the door open for advertising" opportunities.

"The revisions more appropriately reflect the nature of Twitter and convey key issues such as ownership," Twitter co-founder Biz Stone wrote in a company blog. "For example, your tweets belong to you, not to Twitter."

In announcing the new terms of service, Stone also addressed the topics of abusive behavior and spam. These are four highlights Stone called out:

* Advertising--In the Terms, we leave the door open for advertising. We'd like to keep our options open as we've

said before.
* Ownership--Twitter is allowed to "use, copy, reproduce, process, adapt, modify, publish, transmit, display and distribute" your tweets because that's what we do. However, they are your tweets and they belong to you.

* APIs--The apps that have grown around the Twitter platform are flourishing and adding value to the ecosystem. You authorize us to make content available via our APIs. We're also working on guidelines for use of the API.
* Spam--Abusive behavior and spam are also outlined in these terms according to the rules we've been operating under for some time.

The prominence of the advertising revision seems to suggest that the microblogging start-up is warming up to an advertising-based model, a dramatic change from comments Stone made in May.

"There are a few reasons why we're not pursuing advertising--one is it's just not quite as interesting to us," Stone said at the Reuters Technology Summit.

Certainly the ownership message is designed to avoid the user backlash created by a revision to Facebook's terms of use that some interpreted to mean that Facebook claimed ownership of user profile data and photos.

802.11n Wi-Fi standard finally approved

As predicted last month, the IEEE has finally approved the 802.11n high-throughput wireless LAN standard.

Finalization of the new wireless networking standard--which is capable of delivering throughput speeds up to 300 megabits per second (and even higher)--took exactly seven years from the day it was conceived, or six years from the first draft version. The standard has been through a dozen or so draft versions.

News of the ratification broke via a blog post displaying an e-mail sent by Bruce Kraemer, longtime chairman of the 802.11n Task Group, to task group members. There has been no public announcement yet. Update 5:49 p.m. PDT: A press release has been issued.

(The 802.11n Task Group is part of the 802.11 Working Group, which oversees WLAN (wireless local-area network) standards. Task group members include the majority of Wi-Fi chipmakers, software developers, and equipment OEM vendors. Meru Networks, one of the members, posted the blog that broke the news.)

It's likely, however, that final approval of the standard will be publicly announced by September 15, the date when Meru Networks puts on a public Webcast to provide answers about the ratification.

According to the Wi-Fi Alliance, the group that tests and certifies wireless products to ensure their interoperability, all existing Wi-Fi Certified Draft N wireless products will still work with the final standard.

802.11n offers much higher speeds than the previous, already-ratified 802.11g, which caps at only 54Mbps. Due to the compelling higher speed, most wireless vendors haven been offering 802.11n-based (also known as Wireless-N) products during the past six years and calling them Draft N products. Now the Draft is no more.

According to the Wi-Fi Alliance, most, if not all, of the existing equipment can be upgraded to the final specification via a firmware update. Finally, all future wireless networking products will be compatible with today's products that have been Wi-Fi-certified.

IBM offers Lotus with extra widgets

IBM on Friday announced a new version of its Lotus Symphony office suite, with extra features aimed at Microsoft Office users, as part of the "ferocious competition" the company says it is in with Microsoft. At the same time, the company said it is phasing out Microsoft Office internally wherever possible.

"Users can easily drag and drop widgets directly into Lotus Symphony, distinguishing it from static office productivity tools such as Microsoft Word," said IBM in a statement. "This drag-and-drop feature also makes Symphony stand out from other Microsoft Office alternatives, simplifying the use and installation of widgets with just a single click."

Widgets are lightweight applications that can be combined and used to interact with underlying computing platforms. Symphony now integrates with Google Gadgets, Lotus Sametime, Lotus Quickr, Lotus Connections, Microsoft SharePoint, and MSN, all via widgets.

The new IBM widgets include a Team Marketplace widget that allows teams to work collaboratively on IBM and Microsoft documents; a chart-share widget; and a Symphony-to-wiki widget, IBM vice president of messaging and collaboration Kevin Cavanaugh told ZDNet UK on Friday.

"We have been in ferocious competition with Microsoft, and they are happy to take any part of our business," said Cavanaugh. "People have felt they have not had choices in office tools. We are going to provide an alternative (to Microsoft)."

Bob Picciano, general manager of IBM Lotus software, said in a statement: "Today there are more innovative, open alternatives such as Symphony that compare favorably to Microsoft Office. Symphony's open collaboration model can offer businesses limitless options--cost-effectively--at a time when many organizations are increasingly concerned about investing in Microsoft Office."

The technology giant's competition with Microsoft is not limited to extending Lotus functionality, according to an IBM spokesperson. IBM said on Friday that it is in the process of phasing out Microsoft Office use within the company by "encouraging users to move to Symphony". However, employees who need to use Microsoft Office can still use the software, the spokesperson added.

"Symphony is a showcase product for IBM, and as it is open and fits our Web 2.0 strategy, we have an initiative to significantly increase its use within IBM," said an IBM statement. "This will mean that, for some employees, they will no longer need or want legacy tools. In cases where such tools are still required, they will continue to be used in support of our business and that of our clients."

Bing 2.0 could be around the corner

Microsoft is getting ready to launch the next iteration of Bing, according to some wayward tweets.

Mary-Jo Foley at our sister site ZDNet spotted a few eager Twitter users spilling the beans on Bing 2.0 following Microsoft's annual company meeting, where employees were apparently given a preview of some new features that will be rolled out over the coming weeks. Some attendees had the changes coming next week, while others thought it would be more of a gradual rollout, but expect changes to Bing shortly.

What might be coming? One attendee said "imagine seeing maps plus pics from the neighborhood of a restaurant to try."That tweet has since been deleted. Another said "bing + silverlight in maps = amazing !! goodbye google." In what is likely not a coincidence, that tweet has also been deleted.

One message spotted by The Seattle P-I from Microsoft employee Luis Bitencourt-Emilio says "Bing 2.0's upcoming search visualization is pretty sexy..." It's not clear whether Microsoft is actually thinking of these changes as a version-style upgrade or a series of gradual tweaks, which seems more common in this market.

Microsoft had no official comment on the potential changes, according to ZDNet, other than saying "We're very excited about some of the new Bing features set to roll out over the next few months, but have nothing to announce today."

TorrentSpy ruling a 'weapon of mass discovery'

It was a pro-copyright ruling that stunned nearly everyone dealing with the issue of online piracy.

In a decision reported late Friday by CNET News.com, a federal judge in Los Angeles found (PDF) that a computer server's RAM, or random-access memory, is a tangible document that can be stored and must be turned over in a lawsuit.

If allowed to stand, the groundbreaking ruling may mean that anyone defending themselves in a civil suit could be required to turn over information in their computer's RAM hardware, which could force companies and individuals to store vast amounts of data, say technology experts. Roaming the Web anonymously was already nearly impossible. This ruling, which brings up serious privacy issues, could make it a lot harder.

"I think that people's fears about a potential invasion of privacy are quite warranted," said Ken Withers, director of judicial education at The Sedona Conference, an independent research group. "The fear is that we're putting in the hands of private citizens and particularly well-financed corporations the same tools that heretofore were exclusively in the hands of criminal prosecutors, but without the sort of safeguards that criminal prosecutors have to meet, such as applying for search warrants."

"RAM is the working storage of a computer and designed to be impermanent," McCarron said. "Potentially your RAM is being modified up to several billions of times a second. The judge's order simply reveals to me a lack of technical understanding."

A "tap" can be installed in a server, McCarron offered. But that means keeping a running log of IP addresses and other information. A tap would also require a company to store enormous amounts of data, an expensive process, he said.

But lawyers who represent copyright holders cheered Chooljian's decision.

"Unfortunately for TorrentSpy, Judge Chooljian's decision may herald the end of an era," Richard Charnley, a Los Angeles-based attorney, said in a statement. "The process, if affirmed, will expose TorrentSpy's viewer-users and, in turn, will allow the MPAA to close another avenue of intellectual property abuse."

Airborne laser to shoot ballistic missile as part of flight test

Soon, the Airborne Laser (ABL), built into a customized Boeing 747, is ready for flight tests, in which it will try to shoot a ballistic missile.

According to a report in New Scientist, the US Department of Defense's Missile Defense Agency (MDA) has developed the ABL.

The ABL aims to focus a beam of laser energy in the megawatt range for several seconds onto a missile at a "militarily significant distance" - more than 100 kilometres.

So far, the laser has only operated at near full power on the ground. On August 18, it was fired successfully from the air, but at reduced power.

That, however, was no mean feat, as aircraft vibrations play havoc with the precisely aligned optical components needed to generate a laser beam.

Firing at full power poses other challenges as well.

At powers high enough to destroy missiles, any surface contamination or tiny flaw in the laser optics can absorb so much heat that they crack or shatter.

High-power laser beams also heat the air they pass through, creating perturbations that can disperse or divert the beam.

To counteract those effects, the ABL uses an adaptive system that senses atmospheric changes along its path and makes optical adjustments to compensate.

To test that system, the MDA plans a series of increasingly powerful shots at modified ballistic missiles loaded with sensors to measure the distribution of laser power on the target.

Engineers will assess each shot's performance and use the results to fine-tune the adaptive optics.

Once this is done, the MDA will test the laser again in varying conditions, and attempt to destroy actual missiles.

The first of these tests is planned to take place late this year, with two more to follow in early 2010, according to an MDA spokeswoman.

Cheaper Nokia X6 16GB in 2010?

Nokia seems to be in a mood to make cheaper alternatives to its high end devices of late. The trend started with the N97 mini, which is nothing but a chipped off N97 with some features missing from the standard version. Not only does this make Nokia grab the attention of users who were not considering an N97 purchase to think over their decision and get the cheaper device instead, but also gives the company a greater stranglehold over the market.the idea to offer such scaled down models does not seems to stop here anyway. If recent reports are to be believed, the just lauched nokia X6 too will get the same treatment and we might see a scaled down version of the same early next year. The "regular" X6 is all set to go on sale by the fourth quarter of this year. The aforementioned scaled down version will come minus the "Comes With Music" service and will ship with half the storage capacity of the original version. Well, 16GB still is a lot and that should not really be a cause of worry for most users. The expected price for the normal version and the scaled down versions are $566 and $870 respectively.
