It was all about making the day extra special for a group of women from Project Fresh Start of the New Image Shelter Organization. “This event is a very special to me because, during this time of uncertainty, we look to our celebrities as role models and I believe that responsible change has to start with ourselves. By giving back to those who are truly in need as well as celebrating the hard work and accomplishments of those who entertain us makes perfect sense to me.

While most winemakers produce traditional offerings such as Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet, Quady Winery has created a niche market that is unique and distinct. Owners Andrew and Laurel Quady chose to make their wines about the complete experience - one of enjoying a fine dessert wine with the company and conversation of family, friends or that special someone.

The Quadys found their passion for dessert wines. Living in the larger Los Angeles area, the Quadys grew tired of congestion and longed for greener pastures. They quit their respective jobs in explosives and merchandising and Andrew Quady returned to school, obtaining his degree in enology (wine and wine-making).

Luxury lifestyle gift lounge and special events company GBK donated all of the elements used in creating the gift lounge stage to Lamp Community is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that permanently ends homelessness, improves health, and builds self-sufficiency among men and women living with severe mental illness. The House of Blues hosted an EA games event Monday night, June 22nd, to celebrate the release of its newest title: Fight Night Round 4. The latest installment in EA’s Fight Night series is yet another example of the incredible depth and realism of their boxing franchise. With the support of the powerful next-gen platform, the Xbox-360, FNR4 gave those in attendance the adrenalin-infused excitement of a real boxing match spectacle when celebrities Mike Tyson and Snoop Dog flexed their gaming skills against one another.

Tyson attended the event with his youngest daughter and new wife, and Snoop’s son was also in attendance. Attendees also had a chance to experience “Fight Night Round 4,” which players can enjoy at home or with friends on Xbox LIVE.

Although everyone had the chance to get a hand on FNR4 at the kiosks set up, the game’s presence was truly felt in the bout between Mike Tyson and Snoop Dogg. What would follow would be an epic four round brawl between these two media giants. Each hook, fall, and blood splatter drove the crowd into fits of cheers, boos, and laughter.

The fight had the House of Blues feeling more like a sold-out Madison Square Garden than a small Hollywood night spot. The crowd of invited media and special guests went wild! After a few exciting rounds, Snoop would raise his hands in sweet victory.

Tyson graciously accepted his loss and closed the fight by presenting Snoop with a five-thousand dollar donation. His check would go towards a fund for Snoop’s Youth Football League.

Snoop Dogg, however, truly stole the show. Snoop’s vibrant personality, intense stage presence, and old school charm had the house of blues in a riot.

EA definitely kicked off their summer release of FNR4 in style. With celebrity guests, players, and performers, the event really created the media buzz the game deserved.

Fatboy Furniture

It all began with a beanbag. Finland’s Jukka Setala designed the original Fatboy in 1998 as a modern version of the beanbag. The Fatboy original beanbag is made from either a nylon or polyester fabric and has a PVC coating to make them water resistant, stain resistant and easy to clean.

Fatboy teamed with Dutch design studio DeMakersVan to create the look for the new line of functional, iconic fashion products. Moving Forward

For years Fatboy’s furniture, with expressive color palette and dynamic designs have breathed life into any interior. Paula Masters

At the helm of Fatboy USA is president Paula Masters. The Oklahoma native’s imprint on the growth of Fatboy USA is clear as Masters has taken the point in building key licensing partnerships and sponsorships with mega brands including coordinating tradeshows, promotions and high profile events nationwide to enhance the Fatboy brand. When Fatboy launched their first official US headquarters in the fall of 2007, Masters was instrumental in making it happen.

Masters is a University of Oklahoma graduate with a bachelor’s in Business Administration and currently resides in Southlake, Texas. As if running Fatboy USA operations wasn’t enough, she also runs her own business. As Co-Founder and President of 1in3Trinity, a faith-inspired lifestyle brand, Masters has partnered with various groups and business organizations to create awareness for worthy causes that focus on improving the lives of others. Patti LuPone and Mandy Patikin sing musical theater classics

You’ll be laughing, clapping and singing along with two of Broadway’s greatest performers, Mandy Patinkin and Patti LaPone, as they bring to life over thirty songs from different musicals in the show, “An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin” at the Ahmanson Theater of the Center Theatre Group in Downtown Los Angeles.  The two play out a romantic comedy story line by expertly stringing songs together from Sondheim to Rogders and Hammerstein to Irving Berlin and many other musical theater favorites.

LaPone and Patinkin make you feel like you’re watching them in their living room as they are completely comfortable, relaxed and playful during the performance.  Since this show originally debuted in 2007, practice makes perfectly unperturbed singers. Before that, LaPone and Patinkin co-starred with one another in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita, where in 1980, Patinkin won a Tony award for his role as Che.

The pair work synergistically to create a harmonious performance, both sharing the limelight of the almost bare stage except for a few stylistic lamp stands of Thomas Edison light bulbs and a pianist and upright bass player. Dressed in all black with simple lighting and only a scarf and chairs for props, the night was solely dedicated to celebrating the classics songs of musical theater.

LuPone and Patinkin are perfect choices to give a tribute to American musical theater as they have more than sixty years combined career accomplishments that are as long as the Statue of Liberty is tall. Last season, LuPone won the Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Actress in a Musical and the Drama League Award for Outstanding Performance of the Season for performance as Madame Rose in the critically acclaimed Broadway production of Gypsy.  Patinkin recently celebrated the 20th Anniversary of performing his critically renowned solo concerts, Dress Casual, Celebrating Sondheim and Mamaloshen, in rep with a two-week run at New York’s Public Theater, the very space he began his concert career 20 years ago.

Some of the audience’s favorite songs of the night were, Stephen Sondheim’s “Getting Married Today” from Company, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” from Evita, Jule Styne’s and Stephen Sondheim’s “Everything is Coming up Roses” from Gypsy, and Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “If I Loved You” from Carousel.
