I think that all governments around the world really should stop incandescent bulbs and insist that we use energy-efficient LED lighting.

I use it in my home and it is cost effective because it saves me money in the long run, or rather, it has already saved me money. Let's not forget the amazing benefits that it has for the environment!

Grandpa stag bone hunter looks like a nice knife and price, but the handle looks to be a little narrow and slim, its hard to tell by the picture. I myself like a more rounded stag handle which I have on my old timer hunting knife.

I really enjoyed your post about the three unexpected uses of LED lights. I have recently been researching LED bulbs and have found that they are the wave of the future. After reading your post and hearing the three creative ways to use LEDs, it seems that the possibilities are endless! I have only worked with them for a short time, but I have always been impressed with the quality of products that Sharp has to offer. I would recommend that you check out their LED bulbs

Under the sea - what a great use for LED lights. I work with Sharp and have been doing research into LED bulbs. I am amazed at the sundry of uses with their different intensities and colors. I am finding them to be great for homes, inside and outside, businesses, art, aquariums, toys, bicycles...it just goes on. I think they are the lighting of the future.

I take along at least 3 lights. 2 LED and one reg light with long-range power to see down long tunnels. I used to explore missile silos which are dangerous, but interesting to see. I like old buildings, underground areas too as well as caves. NEVER go alone!!! 3+ people well-equipped.

LED Christmas lights are Integral part of Christmas celebrations becuase they are very colorful and makes your holiday more enjoyable and memorable. LED Lamps are extremely energy efficient, uses only 10% of the electricity required to power traditional incandescent bulbs and make great gift item for any festival.

I got a chance to take the Sony XEL-1 home for a week. Amazing picture, but not a realistic product yet. Top marks to Sony though for coming out with the first OLED TV.

A better product would be the PowerFlare Safety Light. They can be run over by any car on the road, they are completely waterproof and they operate for up to 150 hours on one battery. www.powerflare.com. I bought one at a tradeshow I was at and I love it!!

Hi was looking around on the web today and came across your site. Must say that your opening sentence was a little dramatic. Truth is I was in no danger at all and chose to sit out the night in a safe place rather than roam around in the night on the edge of a gorge. Yes I did use my light to signal the helicopter when it came and always make it point that even on a day hike I take enough gear to spend the night if I have to. Also the search by the helicopter was very short because I positioned myself high on a hillside facing the direction from which I knew they would approach. The biggest issue was that I had no way to communicate with my girlfriend to tell her I was safe. She did what she thought was right and had I been injured it would have proved to be much more important.

The real issue here is that if you are going to be out in nature alone you must plan for the worse. The only thing I was lacking was a means of communication to home. In the future I will either have a satellite phone or the new SPOT personal messenger which allows predetermined messages to be sent to a list of email addresses that list your location and hte fact that you are ok or allows you to send out a 911 with your location. Again I would like to restate in hopes of reminding everyone always go prepared and travel safe. Additionally hiking alone is not recommended, but if you choose to do so, leave a map, tell a friend and then do not deviate from that route. If anything happens to you, the sooner help can get to you the better.

Lastly a special thank you to the Ventura County Search and Rescue Team.
