Edison Chandelier from Pottery Barn

Check out this cool setup from Pottery Barn. Inspired by turn of century lighting fixture, the Edison Chandelier features a series of corded lights that can be hung any way you like. Here's a bit more from the site:

Around the turn of the century, designers like Adolf Loos were drawn to the austere beauty of industrial light fixtures and adapted them for home interiors. In that spirit, we’ve taken the bare essentials of lighting – wires, sockets and bulbs – and elevated them to a lofty aesthetic. The chandelier can be hung in any configuration to suit any room's decor. Ten fabric-covered cords extend from a circular bronzed ceiling plate. Bronze-finished cord brackets can be mounted anywhere on your ceiling, allowing you to customize the exact look of your chandelier. Clear oversized bulbs have visible filaments (included). Cords are 46" l.

Analog Apartment

We're working on a little side project called Analog Apartment, a place for people who love vinyl records. In an age where music is thought of in gigabytes and downloads, we wanted to pay homage to the analog format of vinyl records. From the tactile experience to the rich, full sound, vinyl records are a great way to enjoy music at home.

We started a simple blog to cover this topic and we're building a simple little web-app to help you manage your vinyl collection.

History of voting machines

I just cast my vote here in NYC on a classic lever-style voting machine. Granted I do have an affinity for all things analog so it's no surprise that I am a fan.

For those not familiar, you pull the red lever to the right, flip switches to make your selections, and then pull the lever back to left when you're done.

Your selections are cleared and the gentle clanking of gears let's you know you're done.
