Cost of living has really gone up drastically. What meagre sum we earn from bank interest is senseless compared to the percentage of inflation strucked onto the public. I have upgraded to eating white bread instead of green bread.

I marched into a new office at the begining of 2008 and now already a confirmed staff as my probation period lapsed. Spent a total of 3 years with Gates, a rubber belt and hoses manufacturer as a product marketing specialist then product specialist for their industrial products. Don't ask me why the change but its a direction given by "atas".

My untidy office filled with product samples from suppliers, magazines and post-it notes. I am currently handling steering and suspension parts. Behind my chair, there is a steering tie rod assy on the ground.

Felt kind of stagnant at the old ground, as they say, grass are always greener at the other side. So its time to cross the fence and see how good other places could feed me. Anyway, my motive is to learn and gather as much experience. I spent 4.5 years in manufacturing field, did a career switch to experience sales and marketing majoring in product management and has been with this field for 3 years. Guess will be in this field for good since I have 3 stripes on my shoulder.

The only nice thing about my spot is a bird's eye view of Arab Street and is that Kampung Glam? This is one of the preserved historical sites in Singapore.

I guess there are many out there who are still unsure of what their career path would be. On and off, I am still wondering if I had made the correct move. At the moment, I'll just stick to what i have and see what the future has to offer.

I was a little suprise at the pace things are progressing. Things begin to snowball after i presented the ring to Jo. Anyway, i am glad things are turning out well.

Manage to find a good bargain for my wedding banquet. I was a little put off by the distance at first but when i was physically there, the surrounding and the scenery really is something amazing.

I will be hosting my wedding banquet in the Raffles Country Club in Singapore. Yes, the one at the end of AYE which you will end up in the second link to Malaysia if you miss the U-turn. Far ain't it?

Well, talk is cheap. Here are some pictures of the actual place.

Another banquet has been set up and this will be the exact replica of what i will be expecting on 11/10/2008. Yup a few stages so for those who are sitting at the back don't feel miss out.

If your big toe curve inwards then it might spells trouble and the need for a surgery if condition is beyond cure. If you notice a protruding lump on your feet where the big toe bone joins the feet then its time to consult a bone doctor, foot doctor, or whatever you call one. Probably they will advise you to use a bunion corrector (picture above) to rectify the problem.

A bunion is a painful structural deformity of the bones and the joint between the foot and the big toe. It is also an enlargement of bone or tissue around the joint at the base of the big toe. The big toe may turn toward the second toe and the tissues surrounding the join may be swollen and tender. Source.

Female are more prone to such deformity. I thought mine was serious as i had a lump on my right foot but the doc said male don't usually get it so he asked me not to bother about it. Still I'll be monitoring in case things does get a little abnormal. Maybe I'm gonna buy those sponge which ladies used for pedicures and put it on when i sleep to correct what little angle that the stupid toe is pointing.

One of the things that i want to do in this life has been fulfilled.

I had actually devised several plans one as a main but the rest as a back up. As the US had a shock and awe campaign in Iraq, my theme is based on shock, awe and touched.

Initially, I planned to have this done on the 28th October (seems like a nice number) but seems like I can’t find quite enough people to help me on that day so I shred this plan and proceed with the second.

On 11th Oct, I was still considering if I would like to pop the big question on that day. Gave it thoughts after thoughts finally decided but I need to draw up a plan as this is not within all those that I had come up with.

I don’t like to boast but the plan was all made up in one morning. Some advice which proves to be very very fruitful came from my Sis which is all the way from Brisbane, Australia. You need to ask the girl’s parent for your future wife’s hand. I asked for Joan’s hand from her parents in the afternoon and got their blessing. It’s because of this step, my future parent-in-law kept singing and praising me to whoever they call. Not to mention the treatment improves leaps and bound with every visit I made.

This is a very crucial step, no horse run, better use it as a guarantee for a better paved road for both you and your partner. Lol..

Well I made a surprise visit at around 8pm. Together with my younger sister as the photographer as I wanted to capture some moments. I gave her some photography crash course which proves too sudden and she wasn’t able to understand so I have to conduct my own some days later to make a montage. Anyway I am grateful that she did come and tried to help.

In action!!

I called Joan on her mobile phone to check her status and her whereabouts in the house. I know that she will go to her room once I called, upon confirmation I marched into action. Her mum saw me and quietly opens the door. Too bad the stupid television gave my position away.

Still I manage to conduct the whole act successfully. Shock by my sudden appearance, her parents awed at my courage to conduct the whole act in front of them, touched Joan heart which reduces resistance to zero.

At least I can be there to document one of the happiest and joyous moments in your life.

Look out ladies and gentlemen, beware of calls claiming that you had won something which usually is of certain monetary value. I had receive several of such but I just play with them a few times as i had received such warnings prior to their calls.

When i was young, and Christmas tree are tall, we used to live under the same roof and a mango tree in our front yard. As we aged, our school books are all passed from eldest to youngest. Eldest sis would usually write notes or answers that i could use or make myself look smart in class. Youngest sis would usually get craps of notes and drawings that i deliberately left a few years for her to read and get frustrated.

This is how our family portrait looks like in the 80s.

Years passed. One by one, we left home to broaden our horizons and pursue our career but that never stopped. I too was also thinking if Singapore would be my last stop or would I try to move and experience life in another place again since i am a little unhappy of the way we are being treated here but then again, grass is always greener on the other side only to realize that it is harder to chew when you are physically there.

Both my sisters went to Aussie but one came back. The other love the livelihood there and planned to stay put. I did gave it a thought but nothing is conclusive so far. I just don't wish to start all over again, career wise.

With the few of us scattered here and there, we can't meet each other as often as we previously do. Technology on the other hand has improved in leaps and bounds. Thanks to the introduction of computers we can hook up and chat wherever we are.

This pictures makes me feels like its giving the finger to its viewers.

This is the second time this picture has won something for me. Took this shot when i first started photography and i know nuts during those days. Still its shots taken then that made me USD $100 richer which is also my first $$$ after investing so much into this hobby. I find this picture not really something to shout at but the judges decision is final.

Well, the price money is just a consolation. Not even enough for me to buy a new lens. So anyone wants me to do wedding or ROM photogs for you?

One more reason for me to hate Monday is the need to clean the house which happens to be a routine for me every week. Since the vacuum cleaner is kaputt no thanks to them Blurmese who use it to suck water, i have been monitoring the dust level at home. Its still managable but there is an increase in sand and other particles since the upgrading activities started on the block. Hopefully they are not going to upgrade anywhere near where i stay else i move out.

Shit!! Who is balding??!!

Cleaning usually starts will the broom. Yes, no vacuum cleaner have to resort back to something more primitive. After sweeping for a few weeks, i come to a conclusion that it is more tiring to use a vacuum cleaner compared to a broom. I sweat less with the broom, i gotta get me a new vac to start sweating every Monday again. Gonna con one from Dyson...hiak hiak hiak...

Next, i'll use magic clean to get rid of smaller sized impurities. See the difference? Broom dun usually work and magic clean is no good with sand. The other day, i was discussing about magic clean and was branded a gay by a fellow colleague. Nabeh..... -____-"

Finally all ends with a good wipe of the funiture.... in my room that is, the living room depends on my mood which usually is never good and I am not kidding when i say the TV sits there to collect dust.

My future wife must be really lucky to have someone like me. *coughs...*

I saw this emblem in Pasir Laba Army Camp during the AOH which i visited last Saturday with Jo, and have been pondering until today. Can someone tell me what it the meaning of "Yang Pertama dan Utama"? Maybe my Malay is getting rusty, foremost it maybe but first definately it is not.

These Military Police marched into the parade square with their bikes to start the show but why military police need to have bikes that needs roads to ride? It makes more sense if those were scramblers. The only explaination is they could ride in a more macho manner going to the house of folks telling them that their son has perform a heroic deed for the country but died horiffically in foreign soil and speed of before them folks could start swearing.

They call this the spider. This all terrain vehicle has the suspension that could ride up the most rugged land, comes with roll cage to ensure the safety of its passengers, automatic transmission to ease clutching headaches and a bonus of 5 soldiers with every purchase. Batteries not included and sold separately.

This is a very interesting tank probably had a viagra or two. It seems happy and gives a mega erection everytime its name is being called.

What is a show when there are no celebrities eh? The audience are encouraged to take pictures with the war machines but when Felicia Chin and Nat Ho appears, these machine doesn't seems interesting anymore.

One of the highlights was the SAF Red Lion paradrop performance. Claim to have 5 members performing, jumping at a height of 5000 meters but only 4 landed and 1 horlanded. Reports claim that similar incident happen again on Sunday.

The lastest purchase by SAF, the Leopard II MBT sit near the entrance of AOH. It is striped to its skin i bet it caught a cold after the show.

The Bionix Armor Infantry Carrier. This piece of equipment is proudly made in Singapore and to carry the Singaporean NS personnel, it must be comfortable with cushion seats and air conditioned, easy to operate with the aid of automatic gear box and reverse sensor and run very fast to represent the Singaporean way of life.

The SAF runs out of item to display hence even the aging Chinook sit its gigantic ass to occupy some space.

The Bronco, all terrain tracked carrier also another proud development of Singapore is useful when your car broke down in the middle of the jungle.

Singapore, most significantly known for its cleanliness, even provide washing machine that could be use in the field. All army personnel are advised to change their underwear everyday.

Also another interesting piece of equipment. The army boys would never miss this out whenever they are posted out field as this contraption cures their hunger pangs. This versatile machine can either be towed by any vehicle, delivered by any helicopters, or pull by at least 2 cows.

The lime light of the show. The Apache Longbow attack helicopter. This flying machanism made the audience queue for 2 hours just to take a photograph with it which is done in less than 5 minutes.

Patrons are given a chance to fire blanks out of real guns. Its really loud and those macho pose involving gun battles without ear-plugs are all fake. This guy couldn't hear a plane coming behind after doing his round.

Patrons are also encouraged to jump off buildings at the AOH.

Of course the field is incomplete without the obstacle course. I see a lot of male eager beavers performing mating rituals but in fact are showing the army boys why and how not to do things.

To commemorate the lady who flew up to the moon faster than a speeding rocket or space shuttle, we have the mooncakes!!

I was sourcing through some leaflets and brochures in my coy when i come across this piece of ad. Well i happen to be the coy's mail boy so i get first dips on all sorts of letter. Being mail boy ain't that bad. You know who is doing what and basically everybody's dirty linen is at your mercy. Hence sometimes i get gifts or free meals from them directors. *ahem*

These are mooncakes from "The Baker's Cottage" a famous bakery from Malaysia making all sort of pastries. Not many of such bakeries have their own web pages and even hire personnel online.

Try to beat that price!!

My personal favourite, the pure lotus paste mooncake. Don't know why, those fancy ones with icings, funny fillings or even the yolk doesn't appeal to me. Yes, i know i have a funny choice when it comes to food to which i prefer "lao hong" keropok than those freshly out of the pack.

Moon cakes too are following the trend. Knowing that consumers are more cautious about their looks and weight, introducing Mooncake Si, AKA Mooncake light, with low sugar content guarantee you will not bust that weighing machine which offends you every morning.

Oh by the way, i am not selling mooncakes this year. Just that i feel the mooncakes offered by Baker's Cottage is way better than Lei Ahma Sor lou's, Bread Chat's, or any fanciful restaurants best of all, at a better price.

Don't worry about it being too sweet, thick skinned or missing yolk which are common problems in making mooncakes. I have had a lot of complements coming from friends and ex-customers, hence with such confidence i have no doubt that the quality given is top notch. As i said, the taxi drivers in Sg behaves like their counterparts in Indonesia. They slow down when one stand at the side of the road, they honk and point their fingers at you, they start giving reverse head nods to signify if you want a ride and lately they call to claim the phone owner that they made a reservation and did a no show.

August, the month where Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia achieved their independence from their captors, i mean liberated from their masters, i mean well... whatever... it means a day for me to relax and get away from this notebook that i am using to write my blogs which i throw into my pedestal everyday before going home. August is also a month where majority of peeps in my 3rd family are having their hatch day celebrated.

Well if you trace back, they are probably conceived in December where holiday is abundance. With several days off, nothing to do, television programmes are boring, no need to rush for work the next day, a few days with full moon, testosterones rushing, bed is comfortable, well you know what i am driving at...

Ever thought of how to do things or enhance camaraderie with the presence of a barrier obstructing the intended gesture?

At wedding dinners guest are always seared in big round tables. And 2 blokes at opposite ends can't knock each other's glass when one make a toast. So in order to solve this problem, they knock on the center revolving piece which is usually made of glass and which i forgot what its called. This would often results in repetitive, loud and annoying banging sound.

Have anyone notice bus drivers are encouraged to wave when they cross each others path? I witness this incident with the SBS transit bus as well as Malaysia's Johor Motor and KKKL buses. Perhaps a friendly gesture to check if the other chap is still awake.

Pilots are also trained to show courtesy to each other. Something special must be done in order to live-up to the spirit of kiasu-ism. Like the fighter pilot giving their team mates high fives on the ground, commercial pilots plan to do it the special way.

SINGAPORE: Two Singapore Airlines planes hit each other's wings while preparing for take-off at the city-state's Changi Airport but no one was injured, the carrier said in a statement Sunday.

"It is reported that the wingtips of two aircraft came into contact while both aircraft were taxiing at low speed," company spokesman Stephen Forshaw said.

Both Boeing 777 aircraft suffered minor damage in the accident early Saturday morning and the passengers were transferred to other aircraft for their flights to Rome and Copenhagen.

The airline gave no details on the number of passengers who were onboard when the incident occurred.

There is this ang moh whom i will not name, keeps calling me from the Philippines, week after week asking me to invest in Tri-Coastal an oil and gas company which claim to be launching their IPO anytime at the end of the year.

Well this guy who speaks with an Australian accent, keeps having the impression that i am some sort of millionaire, earning big bucks whom will buy a few thousand lots shares at one go. I don't know who the heck planted the idea. I trade but not to that extent.

What caught my attention is his claims on Tri-Coastal will be selling each IPO to me at USD $6 and will guarantee a price of $9 to $12 bucks at its launch. Thats a whopping 3 grand minimum per share should things materialize in 3 short months.

I appreciate his effort in enlightening me how such oil exploration company earns money and the exit strategy being used. He is pretty convincing on all these terms but i did a few checks myself as well as advices from friends. One thing for sure, the coy's website looks shabby also there is little information on the company finances. It certainly looks like a Chinese bamboo, rigid on the outside, hollow on the inside. Enron's webbie probably looks better and more convincing.

I turn down every single offer he came up with but if he is right, the opportunity cost is a few thousand dollars per share. If i am wrong i loose a tens of thousands dollars for investing.

Did someone up there send this guy to me so that he can shove some greenbacks into my pocket?

Nowadays Singapore taxi reminded me of those that i see in Batam. If you stand by the side of the road, they queue up hoping to fetch you. If they see you walking out from your flat they will deliberately slow down their vehicle and most distinguish of all, the honking and finger pointing then you you that face which says "Wanna ride?"

Doh!! This toilet brush was brand new and i have not use the round tip yet. Bought from the nearest NTUC near my place and its a house brand item. Was doing my weekly household chores when i heard a snap and the load on my right hand seems to have lighten dramatically.

The thought of having 2 brush heads for different application spawn the notion to buy. Apparently the design and the use of material seems to be unapt for such application. It induces too much force on the joint causing the weakest part to fail.

Got to start hunting for a aluminum screw in toilet brush with interchangeable heads.

However, thats just me cos i prefer movies to follow their original story line. Same goes to Spiderman 3 which is also a disappointment but i have to admit that the effects and animation was good though.

The Master Eye

After taking photographs for a few sessions, i notice that i always use my left eye on the viewfinder. My right eye? That NFG, girl ogling visual sensor can't even locate the viewfinder.

Normally but not always, for someone who is right handed, everything should follow the masterhand. Eg, i can kick a football better with my left foot, have more muscles control of those on the right side of the body... etc.

So, how to determine your master eye?

Here's How:

Choose two vertical edges or objects, one a few feet behind the other - looking through a doorframe to something on the wall behind is ideal.
Stand about 10 feet away from the closest edge.
Look carefully at the alignment of the edges or objects.
Without moving, cover or close one eye and look at the objects with the other eye.
Switch eyes, looking through the eye you had previously covered, and closing the other one.
Look at the objects with both eyes again.
You should now be able to identify which eye observed little or no real change, and which eye noticed a shift in the the objects. Repeat the previous steps if needed.
The eye which observed a change in the objects is your non-dominant eye. The eye which observed the same view as with both eyes open is your dominant eye!

Second method:

1. Stretch one arm in front of you and point at a distant object.

(Note, People who do not have a dominant eye often have a hard time pointing because they see two fingers. )

2. Close your right eye, Don't move your finger.

3. Did your finger appear to move as you closed your eye?

4. Open both eyes and point again.

5. This time close your left eye.

6. If when you close an eye, the finger appears to jump in relation to the background, then the eye you closed is your dominant eye.

Close your left eye and see a finger jump, you are left eye dominant.
Close your right eye and see a finger jump, you are right eye dominant.
See two fingers when you try to point, neither eye is strongly dominant.

7. Repeat the above activities using the other arm to point, see if you get the same answer for your dominant eye.

If you do, this is strong indication that you have a dominant eye.

Tips:

The dominant eye is often, but not always, on the same side as the master hand.
You will usually unconsciously choose your dominant eye when peering through a telescope or camera viewfinder.
Eye dominance has been shown to have no effect on sporting performance, and articles to the contrary are based on 'urban myth'.

Such news really make my blood boil. Why doesn't the government look into ways to improve the already degenerating crime rate and yet still pump money into stupid things like Danga Bay, biggest flag and its pole, tallest sky-scraper which runs into money problem in the midst of its construction and rumored that the Sultan of Brunei have to own one of them out of a pat on the back, building but not maintaining the biggest rat infested international airport... etc.. etc.

BOLEH, or can do is the national theme. Well, some of these people are ignorant or maybe too stupid to understand the law and everything to them is BOLEH. Maybe we should start educating on the TAK BOLEH part.

JOHOR BARU: It was a date that turned horribly wrong for a young couple from Pontian.

They were assaulted and robbed, and then the girl was gang-raped by four men who had waylaid them.

Their nightmare began about 10.30pm on Monday. The couple was taking a leisurely drive in a Proton Iswara towards Johor Baru, when a Toyota Altis rammed into their car from behind on a lonely road in Gelang Patah.

The 22-year-old boyfriend, who was at the wheel, was worried about his 19-year-old girlfriend and felt uneasy about stopping as there were four burly men in the car which had rammed their car.

He drove on and tried to get to a crowded area while his girlfriend frantically called her elder brother on her cell phone and told him that they were being pursued by a group of men.

However, after a few kilometres, the couple’s car broke down and they were forced to stop.

The four men confronted the couple. One of them slashed the boyfriend on his legs with a parang.

They were also robbed of their wallets, jewellery and cell phones.

The robbers then bundled the couple into their car and took them to a hut in Taman Tampoi Indah about 40km away.

There, the robbers took turns raping the girl while her boyfriend was forced to watch.

Meanwhile, the girl’s brother who was driving around Taman Perling searching for his sister, chanced upon a police patrol car.

According to MCA Youth Public Service and Complaints Department deputy chief Rodney Soon, the policemen in the car listened to the girl’s brother before driving off.
The couple was released about 1.30am. They sought help from passers-by who took them to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital.

The boyfriend’s father later lodged a police report at the hospital’s police beat base.

Police could not be reached for comment.

The life of 2 promising young are ruin at the hands of these barbaric men.

So, the free trade zone in Malaysia is the next up and coming big hoo haa which will attract investors from down south and other parts of the world. With crimes rates soaring and vikings are allowed to roam freely with their monkey acts, sooner or later Chou Yun Fatt will change its base from Singapore having to recite his famous phrase from Pirates of the Carribean, "Welcome to Malaysia" to Captain Barbossa and Elizabeth Swann. And we thought that the Japanese army during WWII was bad, ain't this the same inhumane act portrayed in peaceful times?

So, 2007 is visit Malaysia year. Anyone wanna go? Please bring along a chastity belt.
