Just wanted to show you a sneak peek of a new custom collection for the wedding of Blake & Jenn who will be getting married this July in the Santa Susana Mountains at the Hummingbird Nest Ranch. In deep charcoal gray with a vibrant punch of maroon, the collection came out beautiful.

Laissez Le Bon Temps Rouler!

I wanted to share some fabulous pictures my clients Gabrielle and Solomon sent me this evening. They had a fantastic wedding this past month in New Orleans at the historic Hermann-Grima House followed by lots of revelry at Muriel’s Restaurant in Jackson Square.

Just back from the printers.. the save the dates for Katharine & Joseph who are getting married this summer in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. We printed these with a vibrant nautical rope pattern on the back of the invitations and paired them with kraft envelopes with navy and white striped envelope liners. They look fabulous! This collection called “sail away” is now available in the boutique for you as well – and is also available as an invitation collection.

I think that red and aqua or shades of teal/blue are one of my favorite color palettes. This collection was a fun East meets West for my clients Tanvi and Mark. We worked on incorporating the patterns in India sarees and tired to make each piece unique so that it can stand by itself and then as a whole present the guests with a cohesive collection that allowed each piece of flow from one to the other.

Sassy | ahhh…shoes, glorious shoes!

Are you a shoe girl like me? The striking lines and stiletto heels of Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik…the sparkles of Kate Spade… they make my heart go pitter patter, my eyes widen with excitement and I have been known to let out a squeee of excitement. I have also been known for smelling the inside of a fine leather handbag for the delicious smell. Shoes and purses = a kid in a candy store! But I digress….

Knowing my love for shoes and my love for really using shoes as my “wild and trendy” accessory, I knew that I had to find the perfect wedding shoe. I knew I didn’t want to have a traditional white/ivory shoe. I wanted something fun and funky and sparkly…something that really expressed my personality. I started the search for the wedding shoe just about as early as finding the perfect stationary and wedding invitation collection.

One day as I was searching for inspiration on the knot as I do daily, I found a fabulous pair of Kate Spade shoes. They are the Kate Spade Chase. In purple. They were divine. I was instantly in love and knew that was my shoe!! I checked Kate Spade’s website…and wouldn’t you know?? This particular shoe was no longer being made. I almost cried!!

So then I started stalking all the traditional shoe websites in hopes the Chase would shoe up, without much luck. I searched Ebay. Nothing. This went on for months. I conceded to ordering several pairs of shoes in shades or purple through sites like endless, zappos, and shoes.com. All went back due to various reasons: not the right color, not sassy enough for me, not as cute in person as in the picture…

Since I was unsuccessful at finding the Chase, I though maybe I could have them recreated?? I scoured the internet for custom made shoes and found the most fabulous store, milk and honey. I will tell you that if you are remotely considering having your shoes custom made – use them. The customer service was beyond fabulous. Dorian, one of the owners, emailed me back very quickly every time on my many questions. She advised me on what would work and what wouldn’t as far as design concept. She mailed me fabric swatches so I could make the sure the colors I was looking for. Seriously, Dorian went above and beyond.

I was literally about to hit the purchase button for some beautiful custom milk & honey’s when something told me to look for Kate’s Chase again, so I did. I scoured Ebay one last time and guess what??? They were there. In a size 9. I’m a 8.5. Agh!!! I emailed the seller right away and put that poor woman through so much. I asked how they fit – true to size, small, big? She said she was an 8.5 too…so I asked her to try them on and take pictures for me to see how they fit on her foot. She did. She really went above and beyond…and I snatched them up right away!!

So without further ado…. Here is my beloved Kate Spade Chase:

I feel horrible that I ended up not using milk & honey’s services (though I do still think about it) because the service was that amazing! I highly encourage you to check them out or look at their Facebook page if you are having troubles in finding a good, fun, funky shoe.

Love these new bridesmaid dresses in the Spring J. Crew catalog that came this week..
