La Creche

La Crèche is an artistic and curatorial
collaboration between Playground Berlin
and Kunstraum Richard Sorge at the 7th Berliner
Kunstsalon Art Fair, October 5-10, 2010.

It is a favela-style pavilion for
experiencing art, as well as a
playful architectural art installation
in itself. Our aim is to show art in
a collaborative environment rather
than the white cube. La Crèche is
built solely from discarded recycled
materials. Irregular and surreal, it
hosts 2D and 3D works as well as
video, performance and installations
that integrate organically into its
structure.

Playground Berlin

Playground is a collective of international artists that wish to provide space and time for art collaboration, creation and sharing. Crossing medias and information it aims to create an extravaganza of experience in a mutant space that helps giving visibility to the young independent contemporary world-wide art scene.

Playground Berlin offers an unique experience, integrating art, culture, music, sensuality, technology and ecology; working with a cross-national, cross-ethnic, cross-cultural, cross-sexual Epicurean Utopian vision.

http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001436652139

Kunstraum Richard Sorge

Art space Kunstraum Richard Sorge, located in the East-Berlin Friedrichshain district, is named after the communist spy (Ian Fleming's model for James Bond) that reputedly saved the Western world from Nazism. From its bountiful space situated in a romantically crumbling historic Berlin brewery that hosts many art spaces, Kunstraum Richard Sorge reaches a young, and international audience, but adventurous discerning art lovers as well.

Its exhibitions focus on confrontational crafts, club/vj/kinetic art, GLBTQ art and subcultures. Like its namesake, the initiative independently works from a marginal, yet cosmopolitan position to ultimately save the world.

http://www.kunstraumrichardsorge.org/
