The 2014-15 LSSA Board has deiced to discontinue the La Flog.Blogs require maintenance and a time commitment that no one is willing or should be expected to give. We are refocusing our media outreach efforts on the school’s website: http://www.lafollette.wisc.edu/.  We will keep the blog open for a week, until Oct 17th to give people a chance to save content they want to keep.

“I would like graduation next year to cost less than half of graduation this year. Some gathering is nice, but we can dispense with the more elaborate self-congratulation.”

“I would oppose any decision to cheapen the graduation ceremony. In my mind, this is the one “nice” thing that LSSA and the School does for us. Many other departments on campus have free socials, with alcohol etc. La Follette doesn’t do any of that, so let’s not destroy the one tradition that we do have.”

4. Picnic Point Service Event

Saturday, May 3rd; 9:00am-12:00pm, Picnic Point. Come join your fellow Bobs and help protect the biodiversity of Picnic Point! We will meet at the entrance to Picnic Point next to Lot 129.We will be pulling invasive plant species under the direction of Lakeshore Nature Preserve staff. Tools and gloves will be provided. ’95 La Follette Alum Tom Eggert will discuss his work with Wisconsin Microfinance, a non-profit he founded to help people in Haiti recover from the 2010 earthquake. He will discuss private sector investment in the developing world with micro loans and also some of the unwanted impacts of his work.
