This was the first year of Art Chicos–although the fifth year of Art Chicas–and the boys provided a different kind of energy to the program as a whole. Art and Bernie were the perfect artists to initiate the program, working hard and bonding seriously with their teams. Here are photos from their workday by Allison V. Smith.

Dr. Elba Garcia, county commissioner for our district and the Honorary Chair of the event, toured the site, visiting with students and their families along the way.

So many people to thank for making such a beautiful day possible: sponsors, collaborators, volunteers, the event committee, and, of course, the artists and students. Thank you all for showing us the kind of impact LRTX has on individual lives and the community.
