Labelexpo launches summit in South Africa

Summary:

The Labelexpo Global Series has announced a new event, Label Summit Africa 2012, which will focus on the growing African label and package printing market. The conference and table-top exhibition will take place on 19-20 March at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in Cape Town.

Release date:

                    Tue, 29/03/2011

The rapid growth of supermarkets (by both local and international chains) in Africa is providing plenty of opportunities for the label and package printing industry. This is aided by legislation aimed at improving standards, for example on environmental packaging.

In South Africa in particular, the market is showing strong growth, with most competition taking place in the pressure-sensitive and sleeve segments. South Africa shows a higher market share of sleeve labels – 14% here versus nine percent in the rest of the world.
