DJ White Shadow, who was confirmed to have helped produce “Born This Way” by Lady GaGa on Twitter last month, found time to discuss his work with Lady GaGa on her upcoming album with Billboard.com. He chatted with them about the sound of the new single, and some details about the upcoming album. Check out the interview below!

How did you come to work with Lady Gaga on “Born This Way”?
Gaga was listening to my mixtapes after someone she knew heard me DJ in a club in L.A. One day Gaga e-mailed me and asked me if I made my own beats. I said yes, sent her some, and she hit me back, this time on the phone, asking if I wanted to work with her on some stuff. I said okay.
When and where did you record the song “Born This Way”? How would you describe the sound of it?
She made it. She came up with the idea, she wrote it. She is a genius. We recorded it around the world, on the road, in whatever was available. It sounds like it reads, but not like you think until you hear it.
Did you work on any other album tracks?
Yes. I have been working on this record for well over a year. It has been awesome. Sonically it is much more complex. It’s beautiful. Like a golden spaceship touching down on a rainbow runway in a field of fresh mint.
What are you working on now?
Finishing this record. Making remixes. Listening to yacht rock. The usual.

According to Billboard, Lady GaGa’s duet with Elton John on the track called Hello, Hello won’t be released. It was supposed to be released with the Gnomeo and Juliet soundtrack.

Sure, Lady Gaga’s infamous “meat dress” may have drawn the ire of PETA, but that hasn’t stopped the animal-rights organization from featuring her — along with fellow icons Pink and Mariah Carey — on a brand-new billboard, set to be unveiled Tuesday in Los Angeles.
It’s part of PETA’s “Fur-Free and Fabulous” campaign, and, despite the fallout over her Video Music Awards outfit, Gaga was chosen because, as PETA puts it in a press release, along with Pink and Mariah Carey. “Her anti-fur stance … has been unwavering.”
“Gaga’s out-there outfits never include real fur,” the statement continued. “Last year, when she wore a dress made of fluffy Kermit the Frog dolls, [she] explained, ‘I thought it was commentary on not wearing fur, ’cause I hate fur and don’t wear fur.’ ”

MAC Viva Glam Gaga II Set for Release in February

According to Temptalia, MAC Cosmetics and Lady Gaga will be launching their second Viva Glam collection on February 17th in the U.S. and in March internationally. Lady Gaga is snowed in her apartment in New York City, but that didn’t stop her from picking up the phone to wish friend Ellen DeGeneres a happy birthday. The pop queen surprised the hostess during her show today, serenading her with “Happy Birthday” and fielding a few questions.

Gaga confirmed that she will perform her new single “Born This Way” at next month’s Grammys, wishes that her album would come out sooner. “Born This Way is coming out May 23. I wish it was coming out in March!” she exclaimed. “I really want to take the time to set it up properly and do all the TV [stuff], like ‘Ellen,’ for example.”

She also took the opportunity to shoot down rumors that she was getting married. “I’m not engaged, that’s so ridiculous!” she giggled.

MAC Cosmetics still GaGa for Lady GaGa

MAC Cosmetics has signed Lady Gaga on for a second year as the spokeswoman for its Viva Glam campaign. Gaga teamed up with Cyndi Lauper for the 2010 campaign, which launched earlier this year. The company said the Gaga-Lauper campaign was the most successful ever for the MAC AIDS Fund, which has raised more than $190 million for the cause since its founding in 1994. For her solo turn in 2011, Gaga was shot by Nick Knight and styled by Nicola Formichetti.

One of the world’s most flamboyant and individual performers will join the A-list line up at Madame Tussauds this December as Lady Gaga takes to the stage in 8 of Madame Tussauds’ worldwide attractions, including 3 U.S. locations – Madame Tussauds New York, Las Vegas and Hollywood. All 8 Lady Gaga wax figures will debut on December 9, 2010 in the biggest and most ambitious figure launch in Madame Tussauds history with each attraction revealing a different portrayal of Lady Gaga on the very same day.

In keeping with its reputation as a legendary celebrity hot spot, Madame Tussauds has selected eight very distinct Lady Gaga styles, working with her favorite designers to ensure the looks are spot on. Details of which city will feature which Gaga are being kept tightly under wraps, so fans will have to wait until launch day to find out which Lady Gaga will be wearing their favorite outfit.

The eight styles that will be revealed are:

• Kinky Boots – Short black Bruno Pieters leather body suit cut away to reveal black lace bra, quirky “disc” hat and thigh high black boots. As worn at the Hakkasan restaurant in London in April 2009.

• Mini Mouse – Off one shoulder black latex body suit with long straight hair topped off with “mini mouse” style buns. As seen at the BBC Radio 1 studios in London.

• Hair Hat – Gaga’s own blonde locks splayed out into a huge sunhat teamed with black see-through net dress. As seen at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

• Wired “wing” dress with lightning “eye” – Short black Orschel-Read strapless dress with wired, thigh high patent boots and black lightning stripe make up over one eye. As worn on the Wetten Dass..? gameshow in Germany in November 2009.
