Photocopy the first page of your old passport, the page where all your personal details are noted. Make sure to have a printer/scanner nearby to make things easier.

Download and print the application form here. You can also get a copy at the embassy but to make things speedy, have it ready and filled up beforehand. This is a copy of the form that you have to fill up. Double check everything.

Book an appointment online. There is no other way, one cannot just waltz into the gates of Mordor ahem, I mean the embassy. Book ahead of time preferably 4-6 months before your expiry date as the slots fill up real quick. Choose the appropriate date and time and make sure to register with a working email address. Book here.

Check your inbox for the confirmation email and print it. It will contain your appointment date and time. Keep it somewhere safe along with the photocopy of your passport's data page.

On the date of your booked appointment, please arrive at least 15-30 minutes of your schedule as you have to fight your way to the gate and show your printed appointment confirmation email as well as your old passport to the personnel hiding underneath the humongous beach umbrellas at the gate.

After fighting your way in (Note that they do not allow other individuals only the applicants), proceed to Window 1 located at the end of a small corridor to your right as you enter the giant wooden doors of the embassy. Present your application form, passport and its photocopy. Answer the questions and scrutinize the data being entered into the computer, the monitor is partly facing you anyway.

They will also take a picture right after and I assure you no matter how amazing you think you look, nothing can save your face from melting underneath the Saudi sun so do not expect glamour shots. They will ask you to write your signature on a small tablet and have your fingerprints taken digitally as well.

They will print everything and ask you to recheck all the details entered. Read carefully.

Afterwards they will ask you to go to Window 6 if I am not mistaken which is back where you came from near the vending machine. You will then pay the cashier SR250 (I forgot the exact amount) for the e-passport.

They will advice you to visit the website to check for your passport's release, about 1 month turnaround time since the passport will still hail from the Philippines. You can check here.

My advice? Use the search fields to find your name as the list is long.

I just found out that my passport was released last July 16, I applied last June 30. I will update this post once I get my passport.

This is google's definition of moaning;
for more than two months now,
I have heard nothing but bitter
and tearful moans.

Though I moan too at times
especially when the workload
and the stress all pile up but unlike
most people I tend to keep most
of the frustration inside.

I prefer visualizing the rainbow at
the end of the rain shower or
the silver lining in the clouds.

Being positive helps especially
in our solitude.

We have nobody else to turn to
(aside from the guy upstairs who

Just a quick post...

I am still alive!

I am still adjusting with the workload as

everything here is impractical.

Even the way they handle endorsements etc.

I bought my own laptop two days ago,

and also sent around half my money back home

to pay for the bills.

I now have more or less 150 rials

to survive till next salary.

I already had my groceries settled

so I would not starve.

After our PDOS my batchmates

and I ate lunch at KFC and

went to Quiapo to shop for

abayas and tarhas.

After purchasing we parted ways

and I went back to Quirino Ave

for my bus ride home.

It was so uncomfortable

because the local bus companies

tend to pack us passengers like sardines,

dangerously overloading the bus.

Imagine if the bus had to brake suddenly

everybody standing would fly

straight out of the windshield.

So going back,

I had a major headache

because the weather was really

awry - very sunny one minute

and then rain afterwards.

I rarely get headaches

but it is unbearable

when I do I have them :(

I stopped by at Mcdo

to buy some junk food dinner

and saw a uhm

friend?

acquaintance?

I do not know where to qualify him.

He is nice and all,

very chatty and brutally frank.

But...

He would always start the conversation

with a polite how-are-you first

and then

ask about my love life the next.

Parang ganito...

"Kayo pa rin ba ng boyfriend mo?"

"Uhm oo."

"Ang tagal niyo na no?"

"Balita ko wala na kayo ng jowa mo?"

I know he is gay and all,

pero sana wag naman obvious.

Kasi hindi ako comfortable sa

I was hoping to learn something

sensible during our PDOS,

but I guess we have to research

everything on the internet.

Wish they made a manual of the modules

as well as the pertinent contact numbers

instead of devoting around 1/3

of the time to private entities.

Of the private entities,

one NGO was promising,

the rest were banks and money transfer services.

Sana man lang may leaflet ng contact numbers

na pwedeng tawagan kung may problema

o kaya a manual of what not to do

in your target country.

Hay buhay, palpak lahat.

Ginawa lang nila yung

"pwede-na-yan" syndrome.

Paano na yung mga first timers na tulad ko?

I have been on Neopets since 2001,

back when i still did not even have my own

personal computer and I would just rent

at the nearby internet cafe.

I would disappear from the site

every now and then

and my account would be inactive;

my virtual pets would not die but languish

in a perpetual 'dying' state

till I log in and feed them again.

I actually like the idea,

that my account becomes technically

hibernating till I get interested again.

There are lots to do in site.

Its a little earth and you can do anything you like.

I usually play some games and earn some

neopoints and then buy stuff to restock my shop.

The profits of which are funneled to my

collection of doughnuts in my gallery

or buying books and clothes for my pet.

I save a bit in the bank as well

because I do some quests too.

There are forum boards wherein

you could post your queries and opinions.

I lurk in the Help Board a lot

because you learn by mere reading.

Any how this is my profile there,

and i am proud of my 10 year old account.

I am not into HTML customization so

its quite plain and basic.

My jubjub is not feeling well;

he is my first pet and my favorite.

I painted him rainbow ages ago.

This grundo is my labrat,

I have been zapping him incessantly

to change his color and species

and to increase his battle stats.

Yes, I am 30 and have been playing at the kiddie site

PS.

A year ago my account was hacked and stolen,

because it was really an old account.

My safety deposit box was cleared as well as my money.

I mailed customer service and they helped me

March14 - The qualifying exam was postponed and rescheduled.

March 15 - Exam was held at Sheraton Hotel.

March 17 - Interviewed at the Sheraton.

March 23 - Was told that I passed the interview.

March 24 - Went to my school and PRC to kick start the

authentication of my papers.

March 29 - Orientation held at agency.

March 31 - Got my COE at Manila City Hall.

April 1 - Received PRC authenticated papers.

April 5 - Went to the agency to update.

April 8 - Agency called to hasten my docu processing.

April 20 - Processed my NBI clearance at Monumento.

April 26 - Got my COE at DFA.

May 6 - Got my TOR at DFA and passed my papers at the agency.

May 25 - Agency called and informed me about our

physical/medical exam schedule.

May 31 - Had my GAMCA physical exam done

at Bartolome's Clinic.

July 21 - Went to the agency for updates.

November 9 - Visa approved.

November 21 - Had my medical again.

November 22 - Passed my medical.

December 1 - Paid P60k for the fees.

December 6 - Schedule for PDOS

December 16 - Orientation and final pregnancy test

Visa Woes

Paid the fees in full

because they told me they had already

filed my passport for

visa stamping even if I told them

to hold it a few days

because I needed to secure the money first.

Isinanla namin yung memorial/burial lot

namin para mapunan ito,

bale good for one year at 6% interest per month.

This is a photocopy of the said visa,

I blacked out my details.

My passport is still at the agency.

I am posting all my experiences from

my application onward so

that others may learn.
