GREAT ACHIEVEMENT

Have I told you that I am so proud of myself that I did not buy any clothes last month. Such a great achievement that I can resist to shop the latest fashion trend last month. Trust me, I worked hard to hold myself from picking any cute clothes that I saw last month. That effort makes me digging my closet and try to maximises what I already have. Just like my outfit at this blog post. I wore that outfit to meet someone that gonna give a very cool project for my blog. Yeaaay, hope we can make that project soon.

By the way you must be getting bored seeing my bag, I wear that bag almost everyday. What can I say, so far that is my all time favourite bag, it has every criteria that I need from a bag in it. It is huge, have no brand on it, strong, brown colour, synthetic breathable leather, has so many hidden pockets, and looks so good. Oh what a bag!

I always envy girls whose expert on make up because I really want to know how to make some correction on people faces using make up stuff and yeah I know a girl, whatever the reason, you should know how to put basic make up because you will need it someday. My sister and my girlfriends already teach me how to applied make up but I just never show progress on my make up lessons even how hard they are trying to explain to me. You know so many steps and stuff to have but ..... now I feel like I already found what I am searching for flawless everyday face skin which can be applied effortlessly, yeaaaay! Keep reading, people :D

The body shop products has been my favourite product since I know how amazing Anita Roddick is at my economic course book when I was taking my bachelor degree. I do really love people who cares so much about environmental issues. Eventhough The Body Shop product is just a little bit pricey for a college student like me but I do not need to worry about the making process and the ingredients of the products and I also love their packaging recycle programs and discount programs. The discount program really help me actually, just like five days ago when I bought my self a Shiso BB Cream at their store with 10% discount. I've waited The Body Shop to create it since ages ago because I heard bb cream is such a magic phenomenal cream for face. Uh-huh, you might find I rarely talking about beauty product but this time I should share about this amazing bb cream to you because it's really special. I even made a photoshoot for it. Heheh.

So, why I would love to share with you my experience using my current baby from The Body Shop?This BB Cream is different it has serum inside and made from shiso extract, vitamin C, liquorice extract, and organic aloe vera they are all together will take care of your skin. There are some main benefits that you will get through regular used of Shiso BB Cream: it will brightens, moistures, conceals, and protects your skin especially from UV light since its provides SPF 25 PA +++ protection. I've told you before The Body Shop products are amazing, just like this one, they not just create a BB Cream but contains serum inside, so it is not only just a make up but also a skincare. Double happiness.

Here is my personal reasons of why Shiso BB Cream is so special for me are: it has light texture and blends naturally on our face, at the first time you applied it to your face it might seems a little bit bright and white but at the end the colour will perfectly blend to your skin colours and covers the face in a very beautiful way. Beside that it hydrates and moistures our face without make it oily. usually I have to sweep my face with my oil control paper at least two or three times a day, but since I'm using Shiso BB Cream I do not even need my oil control film anymore. It's pretty cool that I do not need to worry about my face anymore all the day! Perfect, isn't it? I also love the hygiene pump packaging so all I need is just pump one tiny mini Shiso BB Cream on my finger and no product waste and then simply blend it with fingers or brush on our face. After that you can put your everyday loose or compact powder, I myself is using all in one face base powder from The Body Shop as well. MINT PATTERN PANTS

Mint will always be my favourite colour and my minty pants got pattern on it. But I can count how much I wore it so far, only twice since I bought it 2 years ago. When I saw it I love the colour very much but that time I did not that confident to wear the pants. So I just wear it once and people stared at me all the way a year ago. Sigh. Since that time, I put the pants nicely in my closet. Until yesterday, about one year after my first time wore my minty pants, I did not know why I just thought the pants will suits my lemon sweater from Uniqlo well combined with my SAY Hijab pattern shawl. You know lemon and mint is a perfect ingredients right and umh.. also a little bit of chocolate? Heheh. So I give my mint pattern pants a tried, gathered my courage once again, and went to a bookstore with my mint pattern pants. Yes, people keep starring at me but I don't care, I love it! Yeaaaay to myself :D

Look, this one is a year ago, still wearing my mini purple glasses. Now I prefer bigger glasses frame. I found this picture at SAY Hijab Facebook. Oh time flies so fast.

Subhanallah, I kept smiling ear to ear when I found Skateistan website. Skateistan is a non-profit organization using skateboarding as a tool for empowerment. They began as a Kabul-based Afghan NGO and is now an international non-profit charity providing skateboarding and educational programming in Afghanistan and Cambodia. But the most important Skateistan is non-political, independent, and inclusive of all ethnicities, religions, and social backgrounds. They use skateboarding as a tool for empowering youth, to create opportunities and potential for better change. I am so sure that through their values; quality, ownership, creativity, trust, respect, and equality, Skateistan would be a good place for youth to make a better world. They also provide access to education, they focus especially on girls and working children, develop leadership opportunities, build friendship, trust, and social capital. I love to see all the pictures of their activities, and also wathing their videos. For me this is such an amazing life where people trust each others and make something for a better community, and they not put the girl behind, because they really know as the old say: "When you educate women means you educate community". Good job Skateistan.

Look how cool these Afghan girls on their skateboard and also with their hijab! Ahhh, they reminds me how I learned all day to play skateboard when one of my classmate, Galih, brought his skateboard to the class when I was at junior high school after I watched Avril Lavigne video. Hahha.

THE EXPLORER - 100 STYLISH READERS GOGIRL! MAGAZINE

Last month I joined Gogirl! Magazine fashion tag at their website to be featured at their 100th Glam issues, May 2013 edition. There was 5 style categories, black and white, the explorer, sporty, denim, and pattern. Thank God my "the explorer" style accepted and you can see me on one of their cool page posing with another stylish readers. I was so happy that I still could joint this euphoria because one of the requirement is not more than 23 years old. I was so lucky because I will turn 24 at July. Thank you Gogirl! Magazine for the chance, but I think eventhough I turn 24, you will be one of my favourite magazine.

My style was inspired by animal painting made by Alison Fennel. I love the colours she used at her painting. It so wonderful and gives me brave feeling just like the explorer. Besides that, fox and deer are my favourite animals. They are just perfect especially when made into an art piece.

Daily Hijab Style: LES JOURS TRISTES

My mood today is really into Les Jours Tristes by Yann Tiersen. I've been repeating the instrument like thousand times since last night until this morning. Les Jours Tristes is one of original soundtrack from Le Fabuleux Destin d'Am élie Poulain movie. I love the character of Amélie in that movie, she is different. She enjoy making other people feels happy and at the end she have to struggle for her own happiness. I found some part of myself in Amélie's character, her imagination, the way she looks at things around her, how she is just okay repeating the same things that she likes so much, until the way she imagined herself as the character at a movie while she is watching television, she build her own world, and oh little Amélie loves taking pictures with her camera given by her Mom. I suggest you to watch this French movie and don't blame me if you fall in love with Amélie.

Spending my morning at my room, turning Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting book pages while sipping a glass of green tea flavour milk. I've been watching blossomed beautiful orange flowers in front of my window for two weeks and this morning I could not help myself to pick some to complete my Les Jours Tristes mood. And then took pictures of myself wearing SAY Hijab as turban, oh do not forget to check their facebook this afternoon. SAY Hijab is going to launch their new collection soon this afternoon. You will find so many beautiful pattern shawl to complete your shawl collection.

Went to campus to meet my classmate after months did not seeing each other. We have no more class since all the lecturer had finished and now we are struggling on our thesis. Gosh, time flies so fast, perhaps too fast, while I still have no idea of what am I going to make for my thesis research. Do you guys have any idea to be my research, anything about early childhood education. Would be so happy if you can help :)

My mood today (and almost days in my life) is flowery things. I love seeing flower in my room and wearing any fashion stuff with flowers pint on it. I really can't wait to have my own house and having my own flower garden and enjoy them in my every morning and afternoon.

This time I also would love to share my story about the hijab that I've been wearing for almost six years. It was not a short time for me and was not always an easy time for me when wearing hijab. I started covering my head when I enter university as one of my promise to Allah SWT that if I accepted at the university that I was fighting for, I'm going to wear hijab. So here I am, six years later still wearing it. I told you before that it was not easy for me to keep wearing hijab when I went outside home, especially when people started said that I am prettier without hijab, hahah, yeah, at the first I still sometimes went somewhere without it, and also at this blog you will find my fluctuation in wearing hijab during my first time wearing it. Through those days sometimes you will find my blog post wearing hijab, and sometimes without it. Some people asked me to erase those memories from my blog or facebook account, but I just don't want to, however they are part of my life.

As long as I'm wearing hijab, I never found any difficulties except temptation not wearing for the sake I'll look better without it. Especially if I found some cute fashion stuff that I thought would looks better on me when I'm not wearing hijab. Haahah, yes to be honest until now this type of temptation still there but I hope I'm stronger than before. Still trying so hard not to really care about this "will look better on me if I'm not wearing hijab" stuff. And things like hijab will make me feel uncomfortable because it add some degrees to my body is not a problem for me. Even I love to be locked in the car without air conditioner turned on or windows opened, because I would love to see my pores sweats. Yeah, that is just another weird thing that I like. Heheh. So, when I accompanying my Mom to public place, sometimes I just love to sit in the car and having my own sauna while waiting for Mom. Beside that I think hell would be thousand times hotter than just warm radiation from sun. Here I found a very nice comic about wearing hijab, got it from The Muslim Show Facebook fanpage.

Actually I would love to say thanks for those who bring hijab into another level and give a fashionable touch on it, such Hana Tajima, Dina Toki-o, and from Indonesia there is Ria Miranda, Dian Pelangi, Jenahara, and Hijabers Community who bring another sight for muslim fashion. Long before muslim fashion booming like what happen today, I already loves to wear something nice as my outift, but now it is easier for me to find beautiful fashion stuff that fits for muslimah and also so many hijab inspiration from around the world. And even me and my-friends-like-sisters trying to be the part of it by having our own SAY Hijab brand.

Alhamdulillah. It is so nice to catch the morning sun again and kissing it. Yeaaay, I've got my healthiness back. heheh. By the way, my IELTS course was over now, I mean yesterday and now I should be an independent IELTS learner before take the test. This time I'm wearing SAY Hijab pattern shawl for the next collection. Actually we should launch it 2 weeks ago, but because it was not a good time for me, so I could not put pictures of our May campaign into the darkroom yet. I'm so very sorry for that for making some people waiting for the collection. I'll do it soon, so don't worry :)

I always addicted to oversized men's shirt, and could not help myself when I saw this denim colour shirt. This kind of shirt never goes wrong when you combine it with any skinny jeans or leggings and a pair of your favourite shoes. Or maybe if the shirt is long enough to cover your bottom part and you don't want to wear pants or legging (of course for those who are not wearing hijab like me) just simply add a mini belt to shape your body. I myself prefer not to make any shape to my upper body by adding a belt over my shirt because I love looked a little bit messy when wearing men's shirt.

FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY - GREEN DAYS

Hello, sorry for being absence from blogging this past week. Hell yeah the weather and so many things to do plus I have to go back home late everyday from my IELTS course and oh also the queue at Trans Jakarta shelter combined with traffic. Normally it takes one hour to go to my course place, but at night it takes two hours, even more than double. At the end my body gave up and got sick for almost one week and skipped three IELTS class because I was busy lied down on my bed :p

Yesterday I feel better, thank God, and cooked something for myself and then took pictures of it. A very simple recipe, corn soup filled in with spinach and tofu, and because I love something spicy I put more white pepper and onion into the soup. Really nice to sip one bowl of hot complete corn soup when you are getting sick or when the weather is cold. I never getting bored eating corn soup, even it is a cup of corn soup in one of fast food restaurant where actually there is nothing inside the soup they served to the customer, but I still love to order one cup, hehe, weird I know.

Do you know, when I took the pictures I felt like I got energy injection somewhere inside my body. And got sweats is something nice because that means you are getting better soon. You can also drink hot green tea to complete your green day if you want. So, here is the result from one of my green days and wish me get a better health soon and never get sick anymore :D

Life is getting harder for me, I do not know why but I easily feels tired. I think I should consume vitamins, drink enough water, and eat more, I lose two kilograms more of my weight. My old blogger friends maybe notice that I've got skinnier, I lost 11 kilograms since I moved to Jakarta. Hahah. Oh, I wish I can pass everything at my things to do list in healthiness and happiness and keep doing my best. This month I decided not to buy any clothes and yes my outfit at this blog post that I wore to go to IELTS course must be really out of trend, no denim, no stripes, no overall, no checker pattern, no hounsdtooth pattern, heheh, but I have to do that because I'm saving money to buy new cellphone :) I've been saving my money for two months by the way and decided not buy any clothes made looking deeply through my closet to find something that looks like what is trending now and I found some clothes that I even forget I bought them. Heheh. So please don't feel irritate seeing my outfits this month, because perhaps you will not see world's current fashion trends here but my own fashion trend :p

Yeaaay, I feel so happy that May finally come, such one of my favourite month. There are so many things to do at this month of May, IELTS course, photography homeworks, thesis proposal (errrggghhh), completing all the requirements to go to Ohio (have I told you that I want to continue my master degree at Ohio State University? Wish me luck!), finding the right cellphone to replace my broken old cellphone, updating blog regularly (of course), teaching childrens making crafts and drawing at the kindergarten, celebrating my lovely sister, Meiliza and also my cute cousin, Ghina, 's birthday (still thinking about the best presents for both of them), start over my SAY Hijab business, and oh I'm thinking to start another business, but still in my mind, and so on and so on.

Today another kind hearted and good man back to his Creator. The famous ustadz (male teacher who spread the teachings of Islam) in Indonesia, Ustadz Jeffry Al Buchori (40 years old) just gone in a motorcycle accident. Wallahu a'lam bish-shawabi. According to the news I read, Ustadz Jeffry Al Buchori, had a Ramadhan discussion at Kemang. He went home rode his motorcycle while he was not in a good health condition. His brother asked him to sit at the back because Ustadz Jeffry Al Buchori almost hit something like thousand times and his brother got this feeling that Ustadz Jeffry Al Buchori will hit something at the end, but Ustadz Jeffry Al Buchori refused to sit at the back of his brother. And finally his motorcycle hit a tree. Maybe this is what people calls "the death". Nobody can hides or run from the death if the time has come. Innaa lillaahi wa innaa ilaihi raa ji'uun (Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return).

I got shocked when checked my facebook and twitter account this morning, so many people talked about Ustadz Jeffry Al Buchori. He's gone. Even I'm crying while tweeting sentences for him at my twitter account. I know an accident maybe not a kind of way of death that people wants, but what made me crying was there are so many people pray for Ustadz Jeffry Al Buchori and he is gone at Friday. Moslems believes that Allah SWT loves people who leaved this world at Friday and provide heaven for this people. I think it is a super beautiful, thousands people pray for us and heaven from Allah SWT. O' Allah, please show me and guide me to the straight path and call me back to You at Friday. It is You I worship and You I ask for help.

Indonesian knows Ustadz Jeffry Al Buchori was a drug users but he taubat (quit) his dark ages and back to the right path. He becomes an ustadz and famous, he learn from his mistakes at the past. He become a good example for other people who wants to leave their dark past and born as a new better person again through taubat (returning to Allah SWT from sins). He shared his experience before and asked people to change to be a better person day to day. Oh, for me his death is just too beautiful, people being sad and will miss him for his long gone.

Through the news about Ustadz Jeffry Al Buchori, it feels like I warned by someone to keep Allah SWT as my savior beautifully. This warning tells that the closest things to us is not best friend nor tomorrow, but death. So, please use the time left for us in a good way and for good things. May Allah SWT have mercy on people who remember Him. Amin.

SISTER INVASION

Well, kinda late blog post here about the arrival of my lil' sister, Meiliza Fitri, from Korea. But I don't wanna skip it and just let all my pictures with her ended up in my laptop picture storage. So, yeah after 6 months of Skype-ing, finally she's back to Indonesia and visited me at my boarding house. I called it sister invasion. Yeaaaay! She bought me so many gift actually, most of them are Korean food and snacks. The rest is some small things and miniature related to Korea. And my favourite of all is the boots! Thank you so much dearest sister, oh you know me so well!

But I do really hate the way she acted, well not hate in it's real meaning, let's say she was kinda annoying, you know what she is still asked me to go Lotte mart in order to get some Korean ingredients. Hahhah. Well, actually she just wanna cook some Korean food for me like Gimbap. And when I'm going somewhere by Trans Jakarta with her, she was acted like she was at Korea and acted patiently at the Trans Jakarta just like it was at Korea. Sometimes we missed our destination because the Trans Jakarta just stop for a while. You know when it is so crowded inside of Trans Jakarta and then it is so hard to get a way outside the bus because people will not move and make rooms until we asked them. But my sister just waiting for people in front of her to make room for her. Errrgghhh. She told me so many differences between Indonesians and Koreans habit while using public transportation. I quite surprise when she told me about even the old man and woman in Korean don't want to have a sit even though the younger pleased them to have a sit. While in Indonesia even there are a gate for pregnant woman, the old man, and people bringing her children. I remember about my Korean friend, Haebok Lee, she always refuses my help when she brought so many groceries after shopping. She just said thank you and said it's okay yulia, I'm strong, I can do by myself.

Maybe it's a common thing to a fashion blogger to be featured in a website or magazine or anywhere. But for me its such a big thing that could make me smile ear to ear. Today I visited one of my favourite magazine, GOGIRL! Magazine website and found my GOGIRL! Magazine fashion tagged picture at its website homepage. Oh so happy! Maybe this year is my last year to participate in all activities held by GOGIRL! Magazine because I will turn 24 years old soon :D
