Another photo session taken by me, Yulia Rahmawati, from a wagon station at West Sumatera, Indonesia. In this photo session I'm trying to get a different kind of photography by trying to get different views on my photo's object. Some photos are out of focus or blurred in order to let people put more attention on something ordinary and often out of their focus but actually important around them. And the rest of photos, I focused on editing photos for the model photos, yes, I made them in over exposure editing. The editing process also has a meaning. I'm trying to send people a message that they should stop looking for only the dazling things at their life. Its time to enlarge their focus to something that actually important but usually just seeing as a blurred things in their life. Life is too short to regrets, Peeps!

(Salah satu sesi pemotretan yang gue, Yulia Rahmawati, coba tangkap di salah satu stasiun kereta api di Padang, Sumatera Barat, Indonesia. Kali ini gue mencoba untuk mendapatkan genre foto yang berbeda dengan mencoba mengambil sudut pandang yang berbeda pada objek-objek dalam foto gue. Beberapa foto sengaja dibuat blur (out of focused) untuk menarik perhatian orang lain agar lebih lama mengamati foto-foto tersebut dan mencoba menebak-nebak si objek pada foto. Gue sengaja bikin foto kayak gitu dengan pesan dan harapan orang-orang bisa menaruh perhatian lebih pada hal-hal yang mereka anggap biasa dan sering diabaikan tetapi sebenarnya penting di sekitar mereka. Dan untuk sisa foto yang lain gue mencoba fokus pada editan foto pada foto model, yup, gue memang sengaja mengedit foto-foto model tersebut seolah over eksposur/ pencahayaan. Proses editing ini juga memiliki arti. Gue mencoba untuk mengirim pesan bahwa terkadang kita, manusia, harus berhenti berfokus hanya pada hal-hal yang menyilaukan dalam hidup kita seperti misalnya kecantikan, harta, jabatan, dan lain-lain. Cobalah untuk memperbesar fokus pada hal yang selama ini sering diabaikan namun ternyata penting dalam hidup, seperti misalnya lingkungan, tunanetra, tukang sapu jalan, tukang angkut sampah, bibi yang bantu di rumah, suara tawa anak-anak, langit biru, tetangga yang jarang kita kunjungi atau sapa, hitam putih hidup, dan lain-lain.Dengan begitu semoga kita bisa belajar untuk lebih banyak bersyukur dan menikmati hidup.SEMOGA!)

Hello! Ini tuh postingan lanjutin dari postingan gue sebelumnya tentang Sebentuk Hati Untuk ON|OFF Id 2011 Part #1 a.k.a. pesta blogger-nya orang Indonesia. Kalau di postingan sebelumnya gue enggak menyertakan satu gambarpun, itu bukan karena Ayu Ting Ting belum juga jadi bintang iklan So Nice, tapi lebih karena gue mau fokus ke tulisan gue tentang betapa saya bener-bener agak kecewa dengan acara ON|OFF Id 2011 yang tumben-tumben gue tulis dengan bahasa seratusan juta umat di Indonesia. Nah, kalo postingan lanjutan ini lebih ke share foto tentang hal yang menarik perhatian gue selama berada di ON|OFF Id 2011 kemarin.

Blazernya lovable, cuma dress garis-garis yang dikenakan sebagai paduan blazer nya menurut gue kurang oke, soalnya garis-garisnya too big kayaknya terutama buat yang bertubuh plus size. But, if you are a skinny girl, it would be okay :)
Para designer yang memeragakan lini fashion mereka pada fashion show HijUp.com. Enggak semua yang mereka peragakan kemarin jadi favorit gue. Silahkan dinilai sendiri, mungkin kita punya selera berbeda J

Satu-satunya acara yang bikin gue enggak nyesel ikutan ON|OFF Id 2011 adalah menghadiri kelas fotografinya mas Jerry Aurum pada salah satu breakout sessions. Si Mas ini banyak cerita tentang perjuangan dia hingga finally bisa kayak sekarang, meskipun dia enggak ngaku kalau dia itu salah satu fotografer termahal di Indonesia. Dan pada waktu foto-foto sama Mas Jerry inilah kejadian naas menimpa diri gue, yaitu goody bag gue entah ketukar atau sengaja diembat sama orang lain. Padahal dalam Goody Bag itu ada buku Indonesia Mengajar yang baru gue beli dan bahkan belum sempat gue baca satu huruf pun. Dan yang lebih naas lagi, buku itu sudah ditandatangani sama Pak Anies Baswedan yang ketemu langsung di acara ON|OFF Id kemarin waktu gue membeli buku itu.

Masih banyak sih acara lain yang gue ikuti, kayak launching buku Tisha yang berjudul Just Silly, Akustikan bareng Kunto Aji Indonesian idol, ada juga fashion show dari Local Brand, dan lain-lain. Cuma gue males banget ngeluarin kamera buat mengabadikan mereka.

Jadi kalau gue ditanya gimana rasanya ikutan ON|OFF Id 2011 kemarin, rasanya itu uhmh,,, kayak kehilangan duit Rp 100.000,-! Heheh.

SEBENTUK HATI UNTUK ON|OFF ID 2011 PART #1

Teman. Semoga bisa kau pahami lelahku meracau dalam bahasa yang bahkan tak kukenali siapa tuannya. tanpa izinmu kali ini aku akan meracau dalam fitrahku, bahasa ibuku, bahasa Indonesia! Semoga dengan lebih banyak menggunakan bahasa Indonesia, pesan saya lebih dapat tersampaikan.

Jadi ceritanya kemaren saya ikut pengen sok eksis dengan muncul di ON|OFF ID 2011 atau bisa juga disebut sebagai pesta blogger nasional. Acaranya menurut saya so so. Yah gitu-gitu deh, stand up comedy, fashion show, launching buku, band performance, dan door prize. Saya berharap lebih, saya berharap bisa bertemu ikon blogger Indonesia selain Ndoro Kakung tentunya. Jujur saya enggak tahu persis siapa itu Ndoro Kakung. Meskipun rasa-rasanya mungkin saya pernah terdampar di blognya atau sebaliknya pernah membaca comment dari Ndoro di blog saya. Bahkan semua pemenang yang masuk dalam nominasi pemenang blogger awards tidak banyak yang datang. Hanya ada dua orang kalau tidak salah dari sekian banyak nama yang menjadi nominasi. Atau mungkin mereka sudah tahu kalau acaranya cuma acara happy-happy buat panitia dan keluarga beserta teman-temannya. Jujur, saya berharap lebih pada acara ini, saya pikir acara ini memang acara yang sempurna untuk networking. Tapi panggung pun banyak kosong, dan molor. Mungkin jika tahun depan acara ini digelar dan digadang-gadang lagi, saya akan berpikir dua kali sebelum ikut berpartisipasi biar dibilang eksis karena mengikuti acara ini.

Itu baru mengenai acara, belum masalah karakter para blogger yang selama ini sepertinya tanpa cela hadir di layar dunia maya anda. Mereka seolah semua ramah, baik hati, supel, dan super perfect. Namun ketika hadir di dunia nyata mereka memang perfect, tapi kebanyakan mereka hanya bergaul dengan sehobinya, sekelasnya, sejenisnya. Tak ada kesupelan yang saya rasakan dari orang-orang terkenal blog yang saya temui di acara itu. Hampir semuanya mengangkat dagu membusungkan dada. Miris!

Terlalu blak-blakan kah jika saya menyebut satu persatu akun-akun yang bertanggung jawab atas kekecewaan saya pada acara ON|OFF ID 2011 kemarin? Baiklah, misalnya saja salah satu komunitas blog yang berdandan fun dan chic yang ngajakin orang-orang buat santai-santai. Tapi penghuni standnya silahkan anda nilai sendiri dari cerita saya, pertama saya berhenti di depan stand mereka dan mereka cuma ngeliatin saya yang kebingungan dengan tatapan acuh tak acuh. Sampai akhirnya saya menyapa: "Halo, ini komunitas apa ya?". Lalu mereka diam, mungkin bingung bagaimana bisa ada yang enggak tahu mereka itu komunitas apa. Sampai akhirnya salah satu dari mereka itupun yang duduknya paling jauh dari saya yang menyilakan duduk dan menjelaskan. Yang duduk di depan muka saya dengan enaknya makan buah tanpa basa-basi menawari saya sedikitpun. Mungkin tata krama memang mulai perlahan menghilang dari muka bumi Indonesia seiring dengan semakin banyaknya blogger Indonesia termasuk saya yang lebih memilih bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa pengantar blog. Pertanyaan saya, seberat itukah menawari makanan atau minuman pada orang yang ada di muka anda, apalagi kemaren itu jatuhnya saya sedang berada di rumah mereka, refleksi kepribadian mereka. Dan yang paling menggelitik naluri komplain saya adalah bagaimana mungkin mereka bisa menyebut komunitas mereka asik sementara karakter mereka yang saya temui begitu? Dunia maya telah mengaburkan mereka dari kenyataan.

Belum lagi hijabers yang saya temui kemaren. Yang ada ketika saya berpapasan dengan mereka, ketika saya hendak tersenyum, saya malah dapat pandangan menilai dari ujung jilbab saya sampai ujung wedges. Alamak! Semakin heran saya! Dalam seketika pesona mereka lenyap dari fantasi saya, tentang betapa indahnya para hijabers yang berjilbab namun tetap bergaya. Yang terlihat jelas bagi saya justru suatu jurang yang dalam antara "hijabers gaya" dan "hijabers biasa". Seolah kalau berjilbab tapi tak berjilbab melilit-lilit, ber-high heels, ber-make up tebal, dan berbaju melayang-layang itu enggak oke. Duh Gusti, saya takut bila saya pada akhirnya justru ikut serta memandang rendah wanita berjilbab yang tak bergaya. (Semoga saya di jauhkan dari hal-hal seperti itu ya Rabb). Saya hanya bisa mempertanyakan, selebihnya biar urusan mereka sama Sang Pencipta saja. Toh saya sebagai kaum yang memakai jilbab pun belum sempurna, masih belajar dan berkaca pada sekeliling saya. Btw selagi menulis postingan ini, I got an idea, besok, kalau saya diberi jalan jadi fashion designer untuk muslimah, saya akan memilih model-model yang aslinya tak berkerudung lalu saya jilbabin dan dikasih topeng/masker/apalah seolah mereka boneka dan suruh berjalan dengan gaya jalan berbeda dan berkarakter. Layaknya fashion show Anna Sui yang cara jalan para modelnya tak seragam dengan model runway manapun. Meskipun saya sebenarnya tidak tahu juga benar atau tidak perbuatan seperti itu. Heheh.

Satu-satunya penghiburan saya adalah mengikuti workshop photography bersama Mas Jerry Aurum. Asik, padat, bermanfaat. Mas Jerry Aurum berhasil meyakinkan saya kalau memotret itu tidak mesti berkamera keluaran terkini, manfaatkan dan maksimalkan apa yang kita miliki. Meskipun di kelas workshop itu saya harus mengikhlaskan goody bag saya yang berisi buku Indonesia Mengajar dengan tanda tangan Pak Anies Baswedan tertukar atau dengan sengaja ditukar oleh orang lain. Hiks. Semoga saya diberi ganti yang lebih baik. Padahal saya duduk sendirian di depan dan enggak ada orang disejajaran saya, tapi apa mau dikata, ketika saya selesai berfoto sama Mas Jerry Aurum, goody bag saya menghilang dari atas tas punggung saya. Ya sudahlah, saya ikhlas ya Allah.

Ini bukan kritik sekedar kritik, yang saya inginkan hanyalah sebuah kesadaran dan perubahan ke arah yang lebih baik. Semoga semua yang membaca bisa memaknai dengan lebih bijaksana. Semata karena saya, Yulia Rahmawati, ingin yang terbaik untuk kita semua, para blogger pada khususnya dan pembaca setia blog saya yang sangat spesial buat saya.

Enjoy my photography, Peeps. They are all one hundred percent taken by Yulia Rahmawati. The location is around Muaro, Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia. During this rainy season in Indonesia, the area around this place flooding frequently. So the people usually just simply go to their family houses to evacuate or just stay home and should go anywhere by mini boat. Unfortunately I couldn't take activities of people there. Because everytime I try to take their photos they go inside their house. Seems like they are affraid with the camera. And these all what I've got. Enjoy!

7 THINGS I WANT BEFORE THE END OF 2011

So many things I want at the beginning of 2011. And alhamdulillah I've reached them one by one. But still, there are some things hasn't realize yet. Here I wanna post them on my blog in order to remind me over and over again that I have so many things to do start from this November until the end of year 2011. And when these all happen before Desember 31st, 2011, they might be the latest world' seven wonders in my life. :)

Here the 7 things I want before the end of 2011:

Happy Free-Day, People. Today I just wanna spread energy for you that you can do anything you wanna do. I myself still on my way to catch my dream. Come on come on, say this words loudly to yourself:

That quotes comes from Audrey Hepburn. Audrey Hepburn, a movie player, Broadway stage performer, ballerina, the UNICEF ambassador to the children of the world, and model. Audrey Hepburn is one of the most beautiful artist of the 20th century. Hepburn was born in Brussels, Belgium with the name Audrey Kathleen Ruston on May 4th, 1929. I heart Audrey Hepburn since she is not beautiful and talented but also kind of heart. She is such a good motivator, charm, and active in humanitarian activities. Too bad Audrey died on January 20th, 1993 due to cancer of the appendix. The following picture is one scene from the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's where Audrey plays.

HIJAB STYLE - MY VERY OWN LOVELY EID MUBARAK

Hi…, how are you? I’m back again from the business of graduation day. You know, so many things need to fix up before the day. Doing this and that, this and that. And all I can do is just follow the rules from my faculty and university. Yeah, I want a perfect graduation day.

Before the day, I went back to my hometown to celebrate Eid Day with my family. It was lovely day when I am back to my hometown, because so many things, laughs, stories, to share with my families. Too sad, my lovely cousins Hanif and Nana couldn’t come because they celebrate Eid Day at Jakarta with their mother because of a very high ticket price of the plane. Only their father, Uncle Z, who back to Jambi to see his parents, my grandparents.

There’s a very fun habit when we are visiting families during the Eid Day. The eldest or the member of the family that has already has a job will gives you money when visiting them, especially for children. Usually, someone in my age does not get the bob anymore. But Alhamdulillah, I still get it. Teehee :D. And its even more than what I got when I was a lil’ girl.

Yes, Eid Day is time to gather with families, meet old friends, and sharing with neighbors. Eid Day is the days to forgive each other faults and mistakes, to start our relation with others from zero, to promise to our self for not making the same old mistaken. Lovely, lovely, lovely days.

It’s only about two week to spend in my hometown before go back to Padang, where I spend my days to learn in my university, Andalas University. Before go back to hometown I made a Kebaya (national clothes from Indonesia) for my graduation day. I sewed it ay my mom’s favorite tailor. She is such an expert, she only sewed my Kebaya in one day. Awesome!

Three days before my graduation days, Mom, Dad, Meili, and me went to Padang to celebrate my graduation day. Daddy drove our car for 12 hours from Jambi to Padang. It’s a tired journey but I love because I went back to Padang with my families.

Start today, there will be "SE" degree behind my name :)
