Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengence

2012-03-12T06:16:00.000-07:00

So here we are again with yet another Nicholas Cage movie. However, I'm sure Cage would feel better if we all just forgot about THIS one. After the first Ghost Rider movie, I had high hopes for this one, but they were dashed to the ground.

When you have a giggling main character with scenes like this

and yes, he was giggling like a school girl during this scene

well it's just impossible to take this movie seriously at all. This movie is so terrible in fact, that not even the king of marvel cameos Stan "the man" Lee wasn't even in it.

The only thing that was decent about the whole movie was the special effects, but it's just not worth wasting your time.

I'm back from the dead!

2012-03-10T02:00:00.000-08:00

After various reasons, ranging from serious to weird, I've had to put this blog on hold, but now I've found a way to make time for it, yet again!
However, there ARE gonna be some changes around here. I've decided from now on to not only do reviews, but really just what ever comes to mind. Even though I personally dislike those kinds of blogs, it's only going to be a temporary thing until I get a nice feel for what does and doesn't work. I'll also not be trying to stick to a set schedule, as that just made this feel more like a job and less fun. Also gonna change the name, to LaezELife some time in the next week.
Some of the stuff you can be expecting though is everything from me ranting as to why terrans are overpowered in starcraft 2, completly ridiculous sifi original movies, and random foods that I've gotten my grubby little hands on.
So sit back, relax, and prepare to enjoy a new quirkier Laez!

I seem to have mis-placed my regular site news picture, so this will have to do.

Anyway, for those of you don't pay attention, I've shut down LaezENotes, simply because of scheduling conflicts. Also, I've posted up my reviewing policy so you guys can understand why I do what I do.

And everyone, please send in your suggestions, I can only think of so much stuff on my own here!

Waifu Apps

2011-10-14T13:48:00.000-07:00

Okay people today is a special treat. I'll be reviewing two big waifu apps that have been out for awhile now.

First off, what is a waifu? A waifu is a girl from an anime, cartoon, book, or whatever that you literally fall in love with (for girls they have husbandos, same thing but with guys instead of girls).

First off is the older (by about a week or two) MaiWaifu app from

http://maiwaifuapp.wordpress.com/

MaiWaifu is, like I said, the older of the two apps created by Kami. Originally you had basically a clock with pictures of your waifu. However, it has come a long way since then. You can customize the messages that are said, turn the clock on or off, and a few other nifty things. MaiWaifu also has it's own file extension, .wfu. MaiWaifu is also nice because it can cover any operating system that you put it on, and Kami is really good about throwing in suggestions that he likes. Kami hasn't released 0.2 as of this post, however when it comes out it may take the waifu experience even further.

The MaiWaifu app is easy to set up, however once you get past the initial set-up, the only real customization is custom messages which for the longest time could play at awkward moments. The MaiWaifu app has had more then a few bugs because of the way it's scripted, but Kami still does a great job of letting people live with their waifus.

If you have a mac or linux operating system, and want to spend time with your waifu, then you NEED to get the MaiWaifu app.

Next up is the SimWaifu app from

http://simwaifu.wordpress.com/

The other major waifu app is the SimWaifu app. This app is the first of the two to have a working chat feature, which is actually quite nice. And by first of the two I mean the only one at the time of this post. Also you have different mood settings, so that you don't get a happy message with a sad face. The SimWaifu app also is easier to customize for the most part, so that you can really try to recreate the personality that you fell in love with. Also the maker of SimWaifu, Bob (he claims it's his real name), is far easier to get in contact with and will actually help you if your SimWaifu isn't working properly.

While SimWaifu is harder to set up then MaiWaifu (it took me about 15 minutes to figure out were to put my name into the script, but that's my own fault for not reading instructions), once you get it set up SimWaifu for the most part will give you a far better experience with your waifu.

SimWaifu thou only works on windows operating systems, so if you run Ios or Linux, you're out of luck here.

All in all, were as the MaiWaifu runs on all operating systems, if you have windows I would highly suggest the SimWaifu app over it. I'm not saying that the MaiWaifu app is bad or anything, but as of this post the SimWaifu app simply has more to offer you in terms of simulating a waifu, and thus makes it more enjoyable. The MaiWaifu app hasn't had a public release since 0.13, but what Kami has shown in his version of 0.2 makes it so I can't wait for the release.
Something to remember when deciding on which app to use is that neither of these apps are even in the 1.x stages yet, so there's still a lot to come that none of us know about yet.

As a special bonus, I was able to get an interview (more of a Q & A really) via email with the creator of SimWaifu, which I will now copy/ paste from my hotmail for your enjoyment

1) Hi there! So for the purpose of this interview, what should we call you?

I was never a big friend of fancy nicknames. Call me Robert or Bob, which happens to be my real name.

2) How would you describe a waifu to someone who has never heard of one?

To put it simple, a waifu/husbando is a person´s single most favourite female/male fictional character, usually from a manga or anime. For some fans this is serious business and they will start collecting pictures and/or merchandise like figurines or dakimakura while others just look at it as an inside joke and love to mock the faction of those who take it too seriously.

3) What inspired you to create the SimWaifu app?

Waifu/husbando threads are quite common on certain anime image boards and one recurring topic is (often jokingly) discussing ways to either make the 2d characters real or join them in their world. Recently one of those threads on 4chan´s /a/ resulted in some guys actually trying to create an application for that. The first one who came up with a very first version of such an app was Kami. I downloaded his maiWaifu program and it didn´t run on my system. So I decided to write an alternative on my own because I thought that it might be an interesting hobby project.

I´ve always been fascinated by simulations and games like, for example, The Sims. So I called my project simWaifu with the intention to simulate a user-defined character and allow the user to watch her/him "live" inside the app as well as interact with her/him to a certain extent. At least that´s the goal, I´ve still got to go quite a long way to reach it.

4) What are some of your favorite features of your app?

At the current point I´d say it´s the chat feature. I want to point out that I can´t take much credit for this; the language AIML was developed by Richard Wallace and the library I currently use to parse the chat database was written by Nicholas Tollervey. At some point in the future it will (hopefully) be the simulation itself, but that is still in its booties and nothing to be really proud about right now.

5) Do you have anything to say about Kamis MaiWaifu app?

Sure. Without his maiWaifu app mine probably would not exist. His efforts inspired me to do my own thing, so I´m thankful for that. And he is planning some interesting stuff according to his blog (VN style interaction, playing YouTube videos). Another good thing is that maiWaifu runs on Linux and Mac OS X, too, while mine is currently limited to Windows.

6) Who is your waifu?

Nausicaä. My favourite anime and manga and my favourite female character. Many Ghibli haters criticise that she is a "Mary Sue" and hate the kind of message Miyazaki tries to convey in his works, I don´t care about that. She was my first "virtual crush" and while anime studios are pretty good in creating attractive characters she will always have a special place in my heart.

7) Who's that girl in all the pictures of SimWaifu?

sW-tan? I asked on /a/ if anybody would be so nice to draw a mascot character for simWaifu. And one kind anon actually picked that request up and sent me a couple of pictures. She´s quite cute, isn´t she?

8) How does your waifu feel about sW-tan?

At first she was a bit jealous, but after we had a good talk she is fine with sW-tan representing the application.

9) Have you considered getting in contact with Kami and working on one joint waifu app?

Kami said himself that he prefers to work alone. And we are using different languages. But I check out every new version of maiWaifu and look at the new features. While cooperation sounds great in theory I think it would be counterproductive for a relatively small project like this. It would require coordination (who is doing what and when) and in the worst case compromises if our ideas/plans are not compatible with each other.

10) What are some of the upcoming features that you think people should know about?

The next major feature will allow to specify how the usual day of your waifu/husbando looks like. For example sleep->wake up->eat breakfast->go to school->... And special events depending on the current date and time. How you use these events will be up to the user. You could use the feature for reminders ("you´ve got an appointment in two hours") as well as simulating the "life" of your waifu/husbando with more detail. I was hoping to add these features much earlier but caught up in some other stuff so I didn´t have much time to work on simWaifu for the last week or so.

11) Is there anything that you'd like to say to the people here at LaezE Reviews?

Duh... thanks for reading this, I guess. If you try out simWaifu I´d be happy about some feedback (like feature requests etc). You can leave them on the blog (simwaifu.wordpress.com) or contact me per email: simwaifu@gmail.com And have a nice day, all of you.

And that everyone is the two big Waifu Apps. So if you have a waifu, and want to spend more time with her, check these guys out!

Reaper

2011-10-12T16:49:00.000-07:00

So I've been browsing netfilx recently and I noticed this little gem called 'Reaper'. The big plot of this series is a guy by the name of Sam whose parents sold his soul to the devil before he was born. Sam, obviously, has no clue of this until he has the worst 21st birthday ever. After he meets the devil (who actually treats Sam pretty good), Sam has to hunt down escaped souls from hell using basically what ever the devil gives him. Some memorable items include a devil duster, a RC car, and a grandmother style Christmas sweater.

Sam has to go out and hunt down these escaped souls, with his two friends. One is a 25 year old neck beard full of jack blackian humor, and the other is a 21 year old that gets all the girls. Oh yes, and they all work at a store with the biggest prick of a manager ever. This store, the work bench, looks like lowes but has everything in the world just like wal-mart. Between all of this, Sam has to some how make everything work and find a way out of his contract with Satan himself.

This is a great series that I had never heard about until recently. This series only ran for two seasons, for which I am greatly saddened. I'm pretty sure that it got canceled because of that writers guild strike not to long ago that canceled so many other shows. So if you ever get the chance, give this series a shot.

BK Stackers

2011-10-09T11:09:00.001-07:00

Considering I got more then a few request to review more food, I decided to use one of my personal favorite burgers, the BK stacker. When you've been deprived of greasy fast food as long as I have, these things are heaven in a bun.

These things have nothing but patties, bacon, and a cheesy sauce. For only $2 the double stacker is a great deal, and at $3 the triple stacker is even better. If you have a Burger King near you (which you probably do) then at the very least you can use the $1 on the single stacker to see if you'll like it.

So as long as you're not a vegetarian chances are you'll really enjoy the BK Stacker.

Type Moon

2011-10-05T19:23:00.000-07:00

Note to self, never attempt to review a whole company worth of products at once again.

All right people, after some drama at home, I decided to review some of the products of one of my personal favorite companies, TYPE MOON.

First off is the visual novel Tsukihime. In this novel, you are Shiki Nanaya, and 18 year old who survived a near death experience, and left him with something called the 'mystic eyes of death perception'. These eyes allow him to see lines on objects, that if he cuts the line, he cuts the object in half. Recent attacks in his home town have made things rather strange, and it's up to Shiki to get to the bottom of things.

Over all storyline wise, this is probably one of TYPE MOONs better stories, so if you ever get the chance, I'd defiantly suggest it, however there are scenes in it that I would NOT suggest to younger children.

Another warning, if you get Arcueids 'true' end, and do not cry a little, you have no heart.

Next off is another visual novel, FATE/ STAY NIGHT. Here, you follow Shiro Emiya, and his journey in the war for the Holy Grail. In this war, each one of seven magi gets a heroic spirit to fight the others. This spirits are heroes from legend, like King Arthur, Heracles, and the enigmatic spirit Archer. Here Shiro will do what ever it takes to become a hero, and make everyone happy.

This novel came out after Tsukihime, but it was my first TYPE MOON series, so I have fond memories of it. The default, "FATE" arc gives a general introduction the story, while the "Unlimited Bladeworks" route is in my opinion the best route. The final route, "Heavans Feel" feels like just a bunch of random stuff thrown together in an attempt to make a story.

Just like Tsukihime, I would not suggest this to a younger audience.

Next up is Kara no Kyoukai, which is a 7 episode long series animated by ufotable. Were as ufotable did an amazing job with the animations, the series it's self is confusing. Even if you watch the series in the order that you're supposed to, it is still an incredibly confusing series, that if you miss even one little thing you'll be left wondering what in the world is going on. Really, I'd only suggest episode 5 of this series, because that one makes sense on it's own, otherwise you'll just be confused by everything.

The fate/ stay night anime is up next. Also done by ufotable (which does all type moon animations), this series runs into a different problem form Kara. Namely, the visual novel that this series is based on has multiple routes, that do not work well together at all. This anime attempted to mush them all together, with horrible results. Really the biggest plus of watching this was seeing the archer vs berserker fight, which is one of the coolest fights in any anime I've seen yet.

Speaking of fights, Fate/ unlimited codes is a fighting game for the PSP that features playable characters mostly from fate/ stay night. You start off with all the characters but one, and to be honest the characters are not balanced at all. Assassin in this has a combo that hits for around 2100 damage. Berserker has a combo that is just as long, and does 2100 damage about three hits in. The AI in this game is also for the most part so easy, I had no trouble beating it on hard first time through as all the characters. It's a fun little game, but only if you don't have to pay to much for it.

Speaking of fights AGAIN here's Unlimited Bladeworks. Beautifully animated, but really lacking story wise, the creator of the movie has basically flat out stated you're supposed to read the book before you attempt to watch this movie. It is a animation of the most popular route from Fate/ Stay Night and be confusing if you haven't read it before. Really this movie was made just for the amazing fight scenes, and not to much else.

Fate/ Zero is the prequel to Fate/ Stay Night, taking ten years before. Unlike the other stories so far, this is just a story written, with very little pictures and no extra arcs. Overall, I like the heroes in this war far more then I do in Fate/ Stay Night. You'll see a few familiar faces here, but for the most part this is a stand alone novel 4 acts long, with each act having about 10 chapters. This is defiantly one of my favorite books that I have read, and I'd really suggest you read it.

and here's carnival phantasm, one of the flat out silliest things I have ever seen. Type Moon has taken all of the main characters from Tsukihime and Fate/ Stay Night and thrown them into wacky and flat out silly situations. There's only 4 episodes out so far and that's the whole first season, so really you have no reason not to watch this insanity at it's finest.

Finally we come to the Fate/ Zero nime, the most recent addition to the Type moon family. This anime only has one episode out right now, and it's in such high quality my laptop has rendering problems (and my laptop plays portal 2, and starcraft 2 perfectly with no lag). In this first episode it's really all exposition, setting up for the rest of the anime which so far has followed the original novel perfectly. I have high hopes for this series, but you really can't base a anime off the first episode.

Now, I'm sure that I missed a LOT of series (I know I missed all the branches off of tsukihime and the mangas made), but this was taking long enough as it was and I didn't want you guys to wait any longer.

2011-08-23T17:29:00.000-07:00

Hello everyone! After a long wait, I've finally come up with an idea I think may work.

I'm going to attempt to update this blog Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

My other blog, LaezEReviews (link at the top of this site) will be updated Tuesdays and Thursdays with college algebra notes this semester, seeing as that's really the only class I take notes in.

So I'll see everyone here tomorrow, until then have fun!

SITE NEWS

2011-08-02T13:00:00.000-07:00

All right, here's the deal. It turns out that the current schedule I have set up for this site, was ambitious at best.

The fall semester is starting up in a few weeks, and I've been really busy getting ready, so I'm only going to be updating about 3 days a week. Sorry.

BUT, it's not all bad news. I'll be starting a new blog soon, LaezE Notes, were I'll be posting notes I have taken from class, and various programming. Mostly, this will be for me, so I can learn the stuff better, but if anyone has any questions, I'll do my best to answer them in the blog.

That's it for today, so until then, I'd appreciate it if you guys can give me suggestions on what you'd like to see reviews while I'm messing with the schedule anyway.

NGage

2011-07-29T08:53:00.000-07:00

Before I start todays review, I want to apologize for not having anything yesterday. I had a busy day, and I didn't really have anything I could type in 5 minutes, but I promise I'll have something next week.

This is a band I recently had the pleasure of finding, called NGage. They play something called "chillstep" which according to one of my sources is how dubstep is supposed to be played. I personally find this music really relaxing, and I've been using it as my internet browsing music for the past week.

They're an indie band, so besides music on youtube and their site, you really won't find them much anywhere else, which is really a pain.

Even if you're not a fan of dubstep, at least listen to this song before you judge, I'm fairly certain you'll like it.

Well that's it today, see you guys tomorrow!

Plants Vs Zombies

2011-07-27T16:20:00.000-07:00

Plants vs Zombies is one of those games that seems like it was originally designed for ten year olds. But it turned out to be such an awesome game, that everyone has probably played it. And everyone that has played it, loves it.

The objective of this game is to place plants with horrible puns for names (like the pea-shooter which is the basic shooting unit, or the wall-nut which is a wall) to keep zombies from getting to your door.

The game gets really insane in some of the later levels, and you'll find yourself playing this for hours on end and not even realize it.

You can get this game for X Box live, PC, or the iphone, but really I'd suggest it for the PC simply because you can have better precision for the minigames, which are almost as addicting as the actual game.

Like all games, it has it's moments were it's not as good as it could be, but they are few and far between, mostly popping up when the screen is filled with too many zombies to count.

I'm putting this on my 'try before you die list', and if I were you, I'd go out and play this first chance you get!

Code Geass

2011-07-26T16:33:00.000-07:00

Code Geass is the story of Lelouch Lamperouge, a genius citizen of the former country of japan, now known as Area 11 after it was conquered by the Britianian army.

One day Lelouch is running from Britianian soldiers, were he meets a mysterious girl called C2, and his life changes forever.

Filled with humor and action, this serious exposes some of the darker sides of humanity, while asking the question 'is it okay to become evil, to fight evil?'

However, there is obvious corporate sponsership of this series. In literally EVERY episode, there is a pizza hut logo. Every. Stinky. Episode.

Despite how hungry the subliminal messages will make you, this is still a good series, and defiantly worth a watch., and will have you saying

All Hail Britannia! All Hail Lelouch!

Captain America

2011-07-25T08:50:00.000-07:00

Capitan America The First Avenger (even though he wasn't a founding member of the avengers), is the story of young Steve Rogers during WW2.

Steve is one of those people with a lot of patriotic pride, and is wants nothing more to serve his country, simply because he can't stand bullies. However, with his super skinny frame, asthma, and various other medical conditions, he's always getting beat up. Plus the army won't take him, so there's that.

So he's left moping until a scientist offers him a chance. He injects him with the Super Solider serum, which brings him to the peak of human capabilities, and amplifies the good or evil of a person.

Steve rogers is now Capitan America, and leads the fight against a Nazi science division called Hydra lead by the Red Skull, who was injected with a prototype serum.

All in all, this is a good movie, filled with lots of action, humor, and references to other marvel movies (by the way, Stan Lee is a 4 star general). At the end, I'm not gonna ruin anything, but manly tears will be shed simply because of how much of a hero Capitan America truly is.

Today it's YOUR turn! Write a review about my blog, with any suggestions, likes, dislikes, anything at all you'd change! if enough people ask for it, I'll do it!

I'm trying to make this a place you'll enjoy being, so let me know how I can help.

Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver

2011-07-23T21:09:00.000-07:00

To many of us, Pokemon Gold and Silver defined out childhoods. We all claimed to be pokemon masters, as we strove to catch 'em all. We shoved our Skarmorys at our friends Tyranitars, to see who was better. And then we kind of moved on.

Nintendo has been remaking all of the classic Pokemon games, so I can understand some people being worried about these new changes. After all, these are our childhoods they're messing with here!

Well let me just say that we have nothing to fear. Heartgold and Soulsilver are worthing of the hours of our lives we lost to them in our youths.

With updated graphics, we can finally see all o four old favorites such as Charmander, Totodile, Miltank, and Onix on the DS. To be honest, I actually like the remakes MORE then I liked the originals.

With more challenges, pokemon, the ability to reface teh gym leaders with stronger pokemon, and additions to the story, these games will not disappoint.

Boasting the largest safari zone in any pokemon game, EVER, as well as the legendary pokemon trainer RED, you'll feel ten years old again as you run through Johto and Kanto.

That being said, there are some things that personally I don't like about the game. After playing White, and getting use to the menu system for it, the menu system for Heartgold and Soulsilver just seems... way less nice. And the ability to be able to look at a map with out getting the same call from your mother over and over again saying how she spent your money yet AGAIN (mental note, never let women touch my money).

But over all, despite some bumps that like to show up every now and then, I'd recommend this to anyone that ever like the pokemon games, or to people that want to see what all the fuss is about.

Alestorm

2011-07-22T20:29:00.000-07:00

Awesome! 100 followers! now on to the review

Alestorm is one of those bands that if no one will tell you about, but are amazing. They play a genre of music called 'Pirate Metal', which works out surprisingly better then you would think. Don't believe me? here's one of their songs

So if you liked that, go out and get you some of their music! But remember, "Piracy is a crime!"

The Dresden Files

2011-07-21T18:55:00.000-07:00

The Dresden files follow Harry Dresden, a professional wizard in the perfectly normal town of Chicago, and the various paranormal villains that he runs up against.

Everything from demons, warlocks, trolls, vampires, succubi, ghouls, necromancers, fallen angels and even fairy queens. If they threaten the peacefulness of of his city. However, he's only human, so he runs into the usual problems, such as paying his rent (which is always months behind), working with the cops (when they'll listen), and his on again/ off again girlfriend.

The Dresden Files brings magic back to a dark, and believable level. Since the recent influx of 'harry potter-mania' it's nice to see at least ONE good wizard series. Also, fun fact. Potter was 7 cheesy childrens books. Dresden has 12 excellent books out so far, with a 13th due out later this month.

because of just how relatable Harry Dresden is, I'm gonna put this series on my 'try before you die' list, so at least give it a look.

Pokemon Black and White

2011-07-20T19:37:00.000-07:00

Pokemon black and white is the latest installment of everyones childhoods. The game starts off as you and your two best friends each get your pokemon to begin the adventure of a lifetime that all ten year olds must make, and while your mom stay behind to clean your room.

There are so many new pokemon in these games that until you beat the elite four, you won't see a single non-gen 5 pokemon. And in some cases, I'm okay with this. For example, behold Haxorus

however, there are some cases were I'm convinced the developers just got lazy, and should be a shamed to call these pokemon

Trash heap pokemon indeed, as that's were it belongs.

The game itself is about 40 hours long to beat on a casual run. However, there's not really much of a point in complete the post-game. By beating the elite four, you unlock the ability to go the the right half of the country that you're in this time (Unova), which has pokemon from previous generations ranging from level 40 to level 65. Afterwards, you can reface the elite four with more powerful pokemon. That's it. No Red on a mountain, no cave with a god of freakish pokemon science inbreeding, what ever the heck mewtwo was supposed to be. You get nothing.

Black and White however add some new interesting twist. Now, instead of registering key items to the select button, you register them to a list from the Y button. Also, Black and White each have their own towns, Black City and White Forest respectively.

You can also now access a place called 'the dream world' if you have access to WEP encrypted wireless. If you do, then congratulations! You get access to some of the most op pokemon ever released! If you don't have access, then Nintendo will just laugh at you while they break completive pokemon gaming even more.

If you're a pokefan, then I'd suggest playing this game for at least one run through, as some of the new pokemon really are quite awesome. However, if you're borderline about playing, then look to Heartgold or Soulsilver, which I'll review next week.

Tegen Toppa Gurren Lagann

2011-07-19T19:08:00.000-07:00

Gurren Lagann is a 26 episode anime that will make a mech lover out of you. The entire series is about making bigger and more ridiculous mechs until in the final episode they finally make one bigger then the entire universe and throw galaxys a shurikens (no, I am not even kidding there, they are THAT freaking big)

For those you you who don't feel like spending about $60 for the entire boxed set, here's a amv I found on youtube that covers the entire series in about 4 minutes

and for everyone who watches it, Kamina (the guy in the above picture in the red cape) is NOT manly. he simply serves as a stepping stone for Simon (the little kid in the same picture).

Anyway, I would highly suggest this series to anyone that can get the time to watch it

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

2011-07-18T12:50:00.000-07:00

Considering the last review was a scary movie, I feel I need to lighten the mood with this!

Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Spawner of a thousand memes and rip offs, this is with out a doubt a cult classic. If you're about the age of 30, then you no doubt have fond memories of playing DnD in someones basement while watching this movie, or failing miserably to have the same offending accent as the frenchmen.

The Holy Grail is a fine example of classic British comedy at it's best. Once you get past all the llama/ moose/ jumping beans/ firing of people jokes in the opening credits, you'll see that Monty Python holds nothing sacred.

From the 'well' respected Arthur, King of the Brits and his ~~horses~~ coconuts, Sir Gawain the pure in the castle Anthrax, the Black knight who just never knows when to give up, and the knights who say NI! The Holy Grail is a movie that I recommend so highly, I'm adding a new category today: try before you die were only the best things that are reviewed go.

So grab a copy and watch this movie at least 5 3 times, and I guarantee* no matter how you feel, this movie will give you laughs and in jokes for years.

Not a money back guarantee. LaezE Reviews does not, can not, and will not provide money back in the case of you not liking this movie. If you do not like this movie, then that is your own fault for not having a sense of humor, and listening to the internet on were to spent your money.

Insidious

[But First Site news part 2]

Okay first off I just want to thank you all for all of the feed back that I've gotten I have a tentative schedule for topics and which day to post, based off what I have access too (as much fun as it'd be to do military equipment, I can't do a fair review as I can't get my hands on it)

- Monday Movies

- Tuesday Anime

- Wednesday Video Games and What Readers Want Poll set up

- Thursday Books

- Friday Music

- Saturday What Readers Want

for this part here, leave specific things you want reviewed, like say the new harry potter movie (please no) in comments up until Wednesday. I'll set up a poll of the most requested items, and I'll let you all vote on what you want reviewed, and post it on this day

- Sunday Reader Reviews

were you all review the site, submit ideas, complaints, concerns, and just tell me what you think.

Now on to the review!

Now I'm gonna say this right, now, I'm not a big fan of scary movies, as I am a very jumpy person. That being said, Insidious is actually a good movie. Now I know what you're thinking, "But the commercials made it look like a bad b movie!" and you're right, about the commercials anyway.

The movie itself is kinda hit and miss, and almost seems like a whole different movie when they change houses about halfway through. The movie actually feels almost like the movie White Noise with plot development. It starts off peaceful, but quickly gets more and more creepy and jumpy. Those are a few reasons I say it's a hit an miss, but if you like scary movies, or want your girlfriend in your lap for about an hour an a half, I'd defiantly suggest this movie.

SITE NEWS

2011-07-14T22:06:00.000-07:00

All right, I'm gonna try to have one of these every two weeks or so for user feed back, so I can see what you guys want to be reviewed. Also I think this new look is easier on the eyes. Basically, just leave YOUR reviews of this blog in the comments, so I can get a feel for how I'm doing, or make suggestions for what you'd like reviewed. Also as of today, my good friend Captain Zetta and I have come to a deal, were I'll help him with any multi-player lets plays.

I'll review anything that I can get my hands on, so *almost* nothing is out of line. I'd also like some peoples opinion of the new look, or any suggestions at all. It's YOUR time your wasting on the internet, so I figure you may as well enjoy it. If you don't like my blog, tell me what I'm doing wrong. And I promise if you say you don't like my blog, you're not gonna lose a follower, so feel free to drop a comment or I'm on msn at laezeboy@live.com

Disgaea 2

2011-07-14T09:35:00.000-07:00

For those of you who have never played a Disgaea game, how to explain it... Well the Disgaea games are JRPG table top games, full of obscene jokes were you control a virtual army of different characters, each with a maximum level of 9999. And no, that's not a typo. The level cap really is 9999. And STILL they manage to make a extra boss that's challenging, with stats in the billions.

Disgaea 2 is for both the psp and ps2, how ever if you can I'd suggest the psp version. It has about 4 more classes, more playable characters then I care to count, the main characters from Disgaea 3, skip able cut scenes, and downloadable characters.

This is one of the only games I've ever but over 200 hours into (the other being a Monster Hunter game), simply because when you start leveling up at ridiculous amounts per level, you kinda get addicted to it. So if you ever get the chance, I'd really suggest this game dood!

Arbys French Dip

2011-07-12T20:30:00.000-07:00

On this Blog I plan on reviewing what ever comes to mind, and when you've had nothing to eat all day, your stomach kinda takes over. Anyway, The Arbys French Dip is actually a pretty good sub. At a little over $5 for a combo though, it's a little over priced for such a little sub.

If you have a small stomach, it might fill you up, but personally it just doesn't cut it for me. The taste factor though, helps to balance things out. Also, you see the not so little cup of dipping broth back there? That's more broth then ten subs could hold. So what do you do with it?

Dunk your fries in it! Obviously!

So if you ever get the chance, and the money, try this sub out, I guarantee you won't regret it.

Season of the Witch

2011-07-11T17:44:00.000-07:00

As you can obviously tell from the movie cover here, Season of the Witch is obviously a movie about a ~~demon~~ witch and the havoc he she plays on their journey to find a book. This movie takes place in the dark ages, were people were known for their obvious sense of right and wrong.

Sorry about all the sarcasm and spoilers in the above paragraph, and I promise as soon as I figure out how, I'll censor that stuff better. Anyway, up until the last thirty minutes or so it's actually a good movie. It's the story of two knights who have fallen from grace from the medieval church after the second crusade, and their path for redemption. If they can sent a girl tried for witchcraft to an abbey with the last copy of the book of Solomon then they will be relieved of all crimes. Naturally, things don't go as planed, with tons of treachery and 'witchcraft'

Good special effects, nice plot, and believable characters, but it's kinda like near the end, they decided to screw a good movie over. All in all it's a decent movie, but not really worth re-watching.
