Dear Parents,

I hope that this e-mail finds you well, and that you are headed into a great weekend. Advisement season is finally winding down, so I wanted to take a few minutes to reach out to you with a few friendly reminders.  As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions/concerns about your student(s).

1.        There is no school tomorrow, 3/29, due to the Spring Holiday.  (Maybe it will actually start looking more like Spring out there!) ;)

2.        On Tuesday, April 23rd, we will be having several events happening here at LHS…

-Freshmen will be attending a presentation about drugs/alcohol/social media by the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse.

-All of our Juniors will be taking a free ACT!

-Seniors will be going to the zoo in the morning and then returning to classes in the afternoon.

-On that same day, there will be a Career Fair here for our Sophomores.

3.      End of Course Exam (EOC) testing begins the week of Monday, April 8^th and will extend through Friday, May 3^rd.  Please consult with your students regarding what tests they will be required to take and what day(s) within this window they are assigned to take their exam(s).

                       -Biology and English I EOC testing will take place within Monday, April 8^th-Tuesday, 16^th.    

                       -Government and US History EOC testing will take place within Monday, April 15^th- Tuesday, April 23^rd. 

                       -Algebra I and English II EOC testing will take place within Thursday, April 25^th- Friday, May 3^rd. 

Finally, Please see the note below from Amy Shelton, our building’s Partners in Education (PIE) coordinator regarding ways you can help with the upcoming Sophomore Career Fair on April 23^rd.  We are still in need of more volunteers!

Dear Parents,

In coordination with the Partners in Education department we (the LHS counseling staff) are planning a Career Fair for our LHS sophomores.  We need business partners to join us on Tuesday April 23^rd from 8:00 am till 11:45 am to talk to small groups of students about your career area.

We need partners from the following career areas:

Engineering

Architecture

Marketing

Medicine: Doctors

Small and/or Large Business/Entrepreneur

Radio/TV

Musician

Nursing

Education
