Fuel price now N97 compare to N65.Why the suspension of strike? let me guess, The talk with the government official was satisfactory.However NLC has to save face so a modest increase would be fine for now? A struggle is a struggle .Labor went on strike to stop subsidy removal but negotiated a deal to calm the country down.Then what?let me guess,there will be a gradual removal of subsidy which will eventually caused inflation of goods and services only this time the people suffer more because each time there is an increase in fuel prices the traders increase their prices so in essence the consumer pay three or four time for the removal of subsidy that would have been done once or resisted totally. i can predict now that revolution in nigeria would not include the NLC. In the main time please fellow nigerian buy 4cylinder engine vehicle,ride buses to any where you can afford to,travel in group in one car when possible,Just do whatever you can to reduce consumption and save some money because our so call leaders can disappoint us when we least expect them to. Our problem as a nation is lack of "Patriotism". Corruption, as a worm, haS brought us to where we are. Corruption and lack of patriotism makes a leader and its followers turn national treasury into private wallet..Who stealS from his own house? But if you don't care about what happens to your house or where you lay your head then you can steal from it. Simple, every man for himself in Nigeria. It's all about what i can get from the followers and their leader.. We need a rebirth as a nation. As for the fuel and the so call subsidy, why the subsidy in the first place? True we are blessed with crude but we can't power our cars with crude (raw materials) or run generators with crude. Hence the need for refineries. Sorry, I forgot most of our refinery are dilapidated due to lack of maintenance. Why.......corruption or negligence ? So, we have to import refined oil? Hmmm and now we have to pay what everyone else in the world pays for refined product...Hhmmm we are so angry...Hmmm Poor people ...Do you remember taking N2,000 naira or a cup of rice to elect your president, senators, governors, or house member?Hhmmm ...yes i think they want their money back.... Did i hear someone say i did not... Did you vote? What did you vote for? Religion or ethnicity? You. Yes you .. Has your candidate ever run anything successfully before you elected him i.e., business or an agency not tied to government? What about you driving a 6 passenger gas consuming SUV or jeep to work by yourself to show you've arrived ....The more gas you consume(demand) the more expensive the price of gas(petrol)...Believe me there is enough blame to go around . THE POLITICS OF DEBT CEILING

We are being told by our political leader that we need to cut spending and stop raising the debt ceiling.The other wing said no we need to raise taxes . Debt is debt. You have the creditors and the debtor. If you continue to borrow money and increasing your own debt ceiling until such a time that our creditors say we are concern you may not be able to pay your interest or principle because of your income(revenue) then we would be force to stop raising the ceiling.Income VS expenditures.Now Low income,high expenditure = default on loan obligation or the creditors cut the credit limit themselves or no one touch our bond the what next? Bankruptcy. The banks cut my line of credit because they said my debt to income ration was too high though current on my debt obligations..so why do you think it would not happen to us as a nation? we are simply pushing the debt to our children's children..people wake up and do the right thing.

A lot of people and analyst had speculated that America may be next among the countries to go into flame over debt? Please note America and Greece are two different countries though both in debt and about to go into default. However Greeks are not as productive as American. Any country with excess liquidity or foreign reserve still prefer to lend their money to American or put such in American treasury. American are by far the most innovative people in the world with the best ivy league schools in the world. One of the suggestions made by some analyst to solve the debt crises is to role back the Bush tax cut to Clinton era which will save us about $3.9 trillion over a decade? Now the question is what happen to entitlement programs that gulp 11%of GDP and growing? How did we get to be so much in debt? Simple American love debt .As a matter of fact it is the sole engine of their economy. Another question is American spent more money on programs that bring little to nothing to GDP. So to me the debt crises can be palliated but not solved permanently if we don't reign in spending. The debt crises can however be solve through balance approach to spending,eliminate trade deficit n favor of balance trade, some tax holidays for companies to bring in their overseas profit and for government to mandate those companies to create certain numbers of jobs per certain billions brought in with tax holiday.Rolling back taxes to me amount to tax increase and increase taxes during recovery to me will slow growth.

She is a lawyer by profession and had been the finance minister of France since 2007. The question however remain: Developing countries need better representation at this this body. Developing countries borrow more money from IMF than developed nation..who would protect the interest of these nations without diversification of the personnel that runs this group. European has enjoy monopoly of the leadership of this institution. With Us 17% voting share why not an American this time.

FED painted a gloomy outlook for the economy. Jobless claim rose. Q1 and Q2 fail to sterm the downward spiro. Q1 and Q2 simply allows the banks to have positive balnce sheet. American companies are making record profit oversease but it's a different picture at home. US policies on job creation and corporate taxes need to be examine? Texas added more job to the economy than any other state in the union why? Because of their corporate tax laws. Businesses need a friendly enviroment to operate. Second, government need to guarranty more loans to small businesses that create jobs not Tax then out of circulation. There will be no GM today as we no it,if government had not given then it's backing. Credit has the ability to regenerate a sluggish economy and lack of it could lead us into double-dip.

Most wall street analyst have called oil A Phd of global economics. An increase in oil price signal increase capacity utilization while a decrease consumption indicate a downward stream. The current downward trend of crude oil prices at the NYSE had lead to somewhat of a HOlD If not Sell on investment by traders. Though a $100.00 per barrel of Crude oil seems unsustainable, a stable oil price is imperative for any miningful stability in the equity market.

The central bank of Nigeria recently announced that it has granted a provisional license to Jaiz Bank international plc to operate as an islamic bank. Jaiz bank will be the first islamic bank in the country. They however has six months to complete the framework to begin full operation as a commercial bank within the guidelines of Sharia governance for islamic banking. Their modules operandi will be on islamic law of economics which would adhere to certain rules such as no trading of financial instruments or risk which in most quoters is considered as an intelligent gambling and other businesses that may be against the ethics of islam. Jaiz bank parade the likes of Alhaji Mohammed Mustapha no affiliation to the blogger,Dr.Aminu Mutallab ,Alhaji Abdullateef Adegbite,Alhaji Binu Sherrif Musa of UBA ,Alhaji Aminu Dantata and many more seasoned businessmen and Bank executive who are muslim. Generational debt in America is not new however the current debt situation is unacceptable to the majority of the citizens. 45 cent of every dollars spent is cuurrently a borrowed money. This is not a democratic or republican issue it's American issue and by extension a global issue. We all remember the financial crises of 2009 and 2010? The impact was felt globally. The politician particularly the liberals don't want any major cuts to the social programs and the republican want more tax cuts for the business and corporations that create job?
To the liberals I say if you don't accept the reform or some form of cut to the entitlement program now eventually the system will go bankrupt and you'll have no choice but to abandon the program entirely which will eventually create more destitute on America street. To the republican I say security is important but the billions of dollars spent on defense can be used to create more jobs in the manufacturing sectors thereby generating more income for the federal government. Also the issue of trade deficit had to be look at critically? If you go to our stores we have more goods from China than from our own country? Why? It's simple ! American corporation produce more of their product in China and inturn ship the same product to America. This is where most of your tax cut for corporation goes. They simply export jobs for cheap labor in China and India.
To our creditors I say continue to borrow us money but at some point we won't be able to pay back then what? You foreclose on us? Or what? Oh I know the trick China is fighting a cold war with economic weapon and we bought it! Politican please wake up before the whole thing blow up on our faces. We know credit has the ability to build a modern economy but excessive debt can also bring it down.

I watched Bill Mahar the liberal host of THE BILL MAHAR SHOW ON HBO and i was amazed at the ranting of his panel on the impact of tax reduction on job creation. One of the panelist said the corporation need to pay more taxes? Why because they made too much money according to them? Please someone should educate this folks that corporations are owned by people too and most time owned by Americans that still pays personal income taxes and property taxes etc.A tax increase on corporation is a tax increase on everyone. Corporation invest when they have surplus or profit thereby creating more jobs and more revenue for the government. When government have surplus they engage in frivolous spending that ultimately would lead to deficit and depression. Taxes are already too high and if you have extra fund please donate it to samaritan purse or good will rather than asking government to tax us more....Just my two cent

The purported withdrawal or loan was made on behalf of national assembly while he was the speaker of the house of representative. First, the arrest was on the suspicion of him trying to flee the country? What happen to house arrest? The purported money was a loan to the national assembly? Was there no check and balances or auditors within the entity called national assembly? The purported money was not withdrawn now? Why was nothing done all along until now. You can not withdraw such large amount on one signatory alone, Why was Mr. Bankole the only one arrested? Please Nigerians "He who is not a sinner let him cast the first stone" I was intrigue by two things about this young man..Bankole was the youngest speaker in Nigeria history,he had been credited as one of the major player that made the 2011 election legislation that allows for free and fair election? The use of security forces to intimidate past official is tantamount to witch hunt in my book. This man could have been placed under house arrest while investigation continue.......

Even the former fed chairman Allan Greenspan in one of his testimony to congress admit he still don't understand some of these financial instrument been sold by wall street but he is the "FED CHAIRMAN" The core of the crises was fraud.... From wall street to main street but it eventually catch up with all that were involved..... that is why we are where we are... Now we have jobless recovery.. We must give Nigerians credit for making it possible for a south easterner to be president of Nigeria in an election without any massive blood shed.There were sporadic riots here and there but largely it was nothing in it's real sense considering the north south dichotomy that had existed in Nigeria for centuries. This accidental presidency may be a blessing in disguise.Why? If you become something by accident ,you really should not owe too many people therefore you have the opportunity to do what you really want to do as president."Which could be good or bad" The major problem with Nigeria is not electricity,poor road,education or lack of, water,employment,fraud etc but Leadership and indiscipline. Lack of leadership lead to indiscipline which brings about corruption and the consequent of which is stagnated growth. A country with abundant resources like Nigeria still don't have good roads,poor water supply,poor health care system.. The nation president was sick and had to be flown to another country which in most cases there would be more than ten Nigerian trained doctor in this foreign country's hospital where he had seek medical help? Nigeria is blessed with talented people and natural resources but lack of leadership and indiscipline had made the country stagnant for so long. We hope with Mr.Goodluck as president with little or no political debt might be able to take the tough choices and make Nigeria a better place for all to leave and cherish.
