Continuador de la tradición iniciada por la familia Marsalis y otros músicos de la gran ciudad sureña, no es extraño que estudiase con Ellis Marsalis en el New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. Jesse mostró signos de gran talento musical desde su mas temprana edad; durante sus años de estudiante, ganó varios premios y distinciones en diferentes Festivales.<br /><br />Entre 1993 y 95 realizó varias giras por Europa al frente de su cuarteto. En sus más de 60 apariciones en España, Francia, Italia, Suiza y el Reino Unido obtuvo las más brillantes críticas y una excelente recepción por parte del público. En Julio de 1996 efectúa una gira Europea formando parte de la Sax Machine de Phil Woods. Sus primeros discos como líder los edita con el sello Concord. También ha grabado junto a Ray Brown para Teelark y con Milt Jackson para Qwest.<br /><br />En 1996 Jesse participa de forma destacada en el film de Robert Altman “Kansas City”, donde interpreta el papel de Earl Warren.<br /><br />Entre 1994 y 1997 colabora de forma regular con su paisano Nicholas Payton, con quien le une una estrecha relación musical. Fruto de esta relación ve la luz en 1996 bajo el sello Verve el album “Gumbo Noveau”, una recopilación de temas clásicos del repertorio de New Orleans vistos bajo la óptica de un jazzman moderno. En 1997 Jesse vuelve a su ciudad natal, y forma un nuevo grupo compuesto exclusivamente por músicos residentes en New Orleans al que bautiza con el nombre de “Louisiana Bebop”. Al frente de esta banda realiza una gira de cinco semanas por Europa en 1998. Desde la primavera de 2004 Jesse reside en Italia. Su proyecto “The Charlie Parker Legacy Band”, un grupo dedicado a la interpretación de las composiciones de Charlie Parker, se presentó con gran éxito en varios Festivales Europeos durante 2005 y 2006. Se podrán comprar por 5 euros tickets* que incluirán consumición (cerveza o refresco) y un número con el que se obtendrá seguro una de las hermosas fotografías -con sus no menos hermosos marcos- que se sortearán. El matiz.<br /><br />Igual que los gays se han apropiado del término, inicialmente peyorativo, "maricón", las lesbianas de "bollera" y los negros de "nigger", las mujeres hemos hecho lo propio con "zorra" (y otras lindezas del castellano). Al apropiarte orgullosamente de un término le das la vuelta. Por lo tanto, "zorra" no es lo mismo en boca de un tío que en boca de una tía.<br /><br />2. El humor.<br /><br />Sí que me hace gracia la comparación con <span style="font-weight: bold;">Madonna</span>. No lo puedo evitar. Si no me hiciera gracia no habría hecho la reflexión jocosa que la sigue y que en la transcripción parcial de la periodista pierde la retranca. (Ay, Núria, mira lo que me has hecho)<br /><br />3. La reflexión feminista.<br /><br />Aún así, considero que para una preadolescente es más sano ver a las <span style="font-weight: bold;">Vulpes</span> tocando "Quiero ser una zorra" en la tele, que ver a una cantante con actitud "zorrosa" más centrada en la coreografía y el look que en la música en sí, que parece algo ajeno creado en un laboratorio de hits.<br /><br />4. Conclusión.<br /><br />Si finalmente alguien organiza el dichoso concurso de zorras, me presentaré. Aún guardo los calentadores en un cajón y puedo dar una sorpresa.<br /><br />5.
